So the family decided to give Burger Joe another chance tonight and it lived up to its sub-par standards. This time with the owner showing is lack of people skills. To start off, I ordered $ 37 of food and the girl at the counter forgot to charge me for 6 tartar sauce. The way we found out was that the owner was yelling at her asking, ‘Why did you not charge them for Tartar Sauce?’ He yelled so loud that all the guests(including us) heard the poor girls humiliation. This poor girl came back to us and stated she had to charge us, which was fine. The kicker was that she stated it was Cash Only for all purchases under $ 5.00. Not good since I had no cash, just a credit card. This ticked me off. I just spent $ 37 on food and because of their error, I could not complete my order. The young lady made it right by just giving me my precious tartar sauce. So onto the food. $ 37 got me a two cheeseburgers, a chicken sandwich, chicken nuggets and three orders of fries. This would not be to bad if the food was up to par but it was a disaster. The burgers were overcooked and the beef was extremely dry. The chicken sandwich was cooked well but fell out of the bag as the grease was never drained. The waffle fries were amazing. Highly recommended. The chicken strips were overcooked and rock hard. Too bad as they probably had promise if they were not fried to a crisp. The regular fries were extremely greasy but seemed a bit raw. Almost like they needed to cook for a few minutes more. On a side note, this was the first time the owners crumb crunchers were running around the restaurant like wild animals. This is a plus. All and all Burger Joe is in a tailspin. With an average Unilocal rating of 2.3 the owners are just not listening to their patrons. This place use to be so darn good but its slowly getting run into the ground. Its a shame.

I used to come here 4 years ago before we moved out of state. Moved back, so was excited to come back! HUGE disappointment! First of all, how can you call yourself a burger place if you use frozen patties!?! The French fries are mediocre. Thankfully they have the secret sauce to soak them in, which frankly is also mediocre. They also charge for refills!!! Will never come back! Such a disappointment!

I’ve had better, sure, but for a burger joint within walking distance and that’s not a chain, it’s okay. If you are a repeat customer, you can get punch cards for burgers and shakes(separate cards for each item.) If you do eat in the restaurant, you get real plates, silverware, and glasses. The shakes are thick(sometimes too thick) and you can customize the burgers since they’re cooked when ordered. You can get criss-cut(waffle) fries, which are my favorite fries. The downsides right now outweigh the positives: the owners’ kids have free rein of the place and they’re all under the age of 10, so they tend to be the screaming, demanding, noisy, bother-the-customers, in-the-way sort, which makes dining in the restaurant uncomfortable. The menu is now on laminated sheets, so it’s sometimes hard to decide what you want when there are people at the counter blocking the way. I don’t think they’re figured out what kind of restaurant they want to be — a retro burger joint or a Greek restaurant — so the in-between they’re trying to ride is hit-or-miss depending on what you order. I feel like they abuse the freezer for the meat and the sides, so it becomes more of a place where I go when I didn’t feel like cooking — but honestly, I’d probably go next door to U-Kawa or Twisted Lime and get more food(and less interference in my meal from the owners’ kids) for the price.

Worst burger place! Dont waste your time and money! My wife went in and orderd food and paid for 2 burgers, chicken strips and onion rings. The bill was $ 24, but then the cook comes out and says we are out of onion rings but since we under charged you, you are not getting money back. Really not even an apology or offering to give us something else. My wife asks how they under charged but they refused to tell her and thats just it apparently. When she adds up the prices clearly we overpaid but the manager refuses to listen or even check. Apparently the $ 3 for onion rings we didnt get was more important than keeping a customer. Then the food we got was horrible, the burger had no flavor and the patty was razor thin the fries were nothing special. The whole experience was disappointing and we will never go back.

I came in once and won’t return. I was visiting my good friends who recommended this place when we were deciding on dinner. I offered to pay and pick it up. I was at first underwhelmed by the location, décor then service. This fast food restaurant is in a weird strip mall that doesn’t have an intuitive driving path. You have to drive around behind the little strip mall then drive in front of it to get to Burger Joes. The parking lot is small with 2 – 3 spots open per location, and I walked right past it, it’s so small and has zip to catch your eye. Once inside, I wanted to just turn around and leave. I only gave the place a chance because my friends sent me. Think ghetto burger stand. The menu on the wall had several things crossed out then handwritten in. The chairs and tables were few and cheap. The floor hadn’t been vacuumed in a long time. The few pictures on the wall just added to the overall cheapness. I ordered 2 burgers, 1 chicken sandwich, 2 fries and a chocolate shake. I wanted mushrooms but they were sold out. One teen was ahead of me. I waited 20 minutes till they had my food. During this time, I watched them give orders to the guy waiting and 2 customers who came in after me. I saw three teens working and didn’t see anyone who looked like they were in charge so I didn’t bother making a complaint. I was really hoping the food was good like I had been told. The girl who took my order was friendly. I finally got the food, and it was expensive for a fast food burger stand with zero aesthetic or any other reason why someone would pay $ 8 for a hamburger. I got to my friends, and I was pretty unhappy when my burger was a frozen patty — not fresh for these prices?! — and it tasted bad. It was like those really cheap frozen patties that come in bulk in a box that you buy for a Boy Scouts campout because 9 year olds don’t have a palate yet. The fries were just your garden variety frozen fries from a bag. One friend said his burger was just Ok which translates into it was bad too. The other said her’s was fine. I think she was just really hungry after waiting almost an hour later than planned to eat. She said they had gotten burgers there a couple times and they were relatively ok. Place seems really hit or miss. I won’t be going back, and neither will my friends. Food: 1 Service: 2 Ambiance: 1 Parking: 2

I was excited to try this place when I heard they got new owners. One huge problem. The two«owners» bring their 3 children to work, all the time. An infant in a rocker right next to the ovens & literally in the middle of the kitchen. A toddler running around the lobby with a tomato touching everything. And an older kindergarten age kid that was bringing people their drinks… I’ve seen this more than once here. Really sad for this family & I would never return here for this reason.

Long time customer who loved the burgers under previous owner. Quit going when I heard they turned into a gyro place. I have recently returned to try the burgers and found them just as good as before ownership change. Menu has changed but burgers are still there. I took one star away because they don’t have butterscotch milkshakes anymore. I have to settle for caramel.

The food is good and decent portions… they charge for all the extras and for refills on you’re drinks. The staff was very nice and the family liked the food so it works in a pinch

I swear the koreans who run this joint buy the costco frozen beef patties and overcharge you. The ingriediants are very cheap. Save your money and go to Teddy’s or Five guys

Burger Joe has great french fries thats for sure; however, its not enough to have me return. The location is clean and the staff is nice. It was not a bad meal– just average and what you could expect from a hamburger«stand».

Wife and I ran over at halftime of the Vikings/Saints game to grab a quick bite to go, pleasantly surprised by the taste/value. I ordered the large philly($ 6.99) and my wife had the bacon cheeseburger($ 4.89 for a single, I think). The philly was alot better than I’ve grown to expect around the NW. Most places seem to bury everything in the onions and cheese. This one had a great balance of meat/onions/peppers/mushrooms/cheese on a «very fresh for a Sunday» bun. Wife’s burger was gi-normous for a single! Added on two large fries and the bill was $ 17. Great place for a quick stop meal!

This place just opened up I’d say within the past year and a half. No drive-thru, this is in a small parking lot shared with a fitness center, teriyaki place, convenience store, and martial arts studio, amongst other merchants. On their menu are different varieties of burgers(nothing like Red Robin though), fries(curly, regular, criss-cross), corn dogs, jalapeño poppers, chicken strips, and I think maybe some deep fried seafood items. They have«daily specials’ written on their blackboard at the counter. Good and tasty burgers, that kind of have that grilled taste. Good tartar for fries or the burger, and they also have a ‘fries sauce’ as well for dipping. The food is cooked to order, so it will be a little bit of a wait, but it’s always fresh and the fries are hot and crispy. Good place to grab a quick one on the way home. Quick and friendly service.

This food rocks! Its nice to have a burger joint so close home without having to drive all the way back into town. I usually order the mushroom burger which is great! My only complaint, and the reason its not a 5 star is because the mushrooms aren’t sauteed, they are cooked a little, but not like they would be at a steak restaurant. I guess I’m just picky. Make sure when you order fries to pick up some of their special sauce… its to die for. It probably just mayo and katchup, but it is so goooooood. Even though the place is pretty small, there is still enough seating for 15 or so and it has a cute 50’s look to it. Gotta try this place if your in the neighborhood!
