It’s my understanding that this place has changed owners a few times. Recently when I’ve gone in the food is pretty decent. I like the spicy kung pao chicken with gyoza lunch special. The lady who takes orders and serves is very sweet and attentive. The negatives: The place is dirty. They need desperately to replace some of the tables and chairs and give the place a deep cleaning. The carpet should probably be replaced as well.

I just moved into the area and am currently searching for some go to spots. We came to this place looking for a tasty cheap meal. When I went to order the service was nice enough. I order the chicken teriyaki and it came out in a decent time. So far so good. However, this is where this restaurant earns its one star review. Eager to try this teriyaki I hurry home and sit in front of the TV. I dig my chopsticks in. I took the first bite and realized the chicken tasted slightly undercooked. I thought nothing of it and tried another, this time I was sure. After 2 bites I knew this place was not for me. With chicken it is important that the cooking process is thorough. Apparently this restaurant does not think so. Steer clear, not only for your enjoyment for also for your health.

One of my favorite places. A large order of their Won Ton soup can feed me for two meals! It’s also some of the best Won Ton soup I’ve had with all the veggies and shrimp thrown in. I’ve tried a lot of their menu and they have great portion sizes and the flavors are great. they are also not greasy which is a plus. I love their chow-mein and their almond fried chicken. I’ve been eating here for about eight years and I will go out of my way to come here when I’m in the mood. I will however, throw my support into the mix for better cleaning. Their tables are always a little sticky. This is why I generally opt for take out.

We like the food but at times you can wait for at least a half hour for a To go order, needs a serious remodeling or deep cleaning.

It is an average teriyaki place although the size of their portions for the price are very good. Plenty for two people to share. The taste itself is nothing special but I have had much worse. A reasonable and convenient place to stop but nothing sets the food apart from others.

at here and my 4 year old got food poisoning vomiting all day, I and my wife also felt very sick. Lady was nice but this place needs to change the way they make their food food poisoning and raw chicken from multiple people on the reviews, this needs to stop.

Yuk. Raw chicken. Just picked up take out teriyaki chicken. Chicken was completely raw when I bit into it. This has always been a good hole in the wall place but recently it’s going down hill.

Daddy daughter dinner before Christmas tree lighting at the country village. However, this will be my first and last dinning in experience here… Service was excellent but half the tables had dirty plates on them when we walked in and there wasn’t anyone there eating when we placed our order. And on top of that the table we sat down at was VERY sticky. It wasn’t until we were half way through our meal that tables started being cleared. By the end of our meal only half of the dirty tables had been cleared. With that being said, our family has carried out from here several times and the food is pretty darn good. I have no complaints about service or the food.

Good Teriyaki and Kung Pao chicken and large portions at a great price. Go here 1 to 2 times a week for lunch Tried the Yakisoba once and it was disappointing.

Every once in a while I find myself in Bothell and craving teriyaki, so… I end up here. What’s good? The food is cheap and the servings are huge. They servings are actually too big in my opinion, but… I guess that’s fine if you like having leftovers or are sharing with friends/family. The food is… good enough. What’s not so good? The place looks a little run down. The cashier I encountered most recently looked like he was falling asleep. The one warning I have is that the«small» soups are probably big enough to feed a few people. Maybe even 10 or so if they’re also eating other stuff. I guess I should have anticipated it because the cheapest bowl of hot & sour is about $ 6, but I still wasn’t expecting for about 1⁄3 of the soup to take me from«I’m really hungry» to «I absolutely can’t have any more.» I won’t ever go out of my way to eat here, but… I might end up here again someday.

I ate lunch here for the first time today and ordered the spicy chicken teriyaki. There’s complimentary tea and water. They use real silverware or you can choose chopsticks up front. This place is not clean and could use a deep cleaning as mentioned in other reviews. However, when my spicy chicken teriyaki came out I was so excited. I was having a teriyaki meltdown and just needed some goodness, and how it was served to me was perfect. There were pretty huge portions of everything… so much that I almost couldn’t finish it. But I kept on going and packed it all away. I really loved the spicy chicken didn’t need additional Sriracha so it was spicy enough for me. I also loved the extra sauce, which I used for my left over rice. It was so good. The only thing that could have made it better would have been the cleanliness of the place. There was prompt and friendly service. If the place was cleaner it would have been a 5-star review. I probably won’t be back to this location because of how dirty it seemed to be but rest assured if you’re looking for some delish teriyaki… you…will…find…it…here!

The salad tasted good. The chicken not the best… I have had better. Atmosphere could use a face lift. Lunch specials can be under $ 6.00.

I have ordered take-out from here few times so far. The food is definitely below average. The portions used to be very generous but that is not the case anymore. The friend rice we ordered was devoid of any flavor with very few chicken pieces. Service wasn’t bad, BTW.

I’m not a big teriyaki person but I have a craving for the starchy, saucy goodness from time to time and I know what I like. This place was not good. The lady helping me was nice but the chicken teriyaki was pretty bad. I had a few bites and couldn’t eat anymore even though I was hungry. Rice was fine but how do you mess up the rice? Sorry, Happy Teriyaki. I won’t be back. $ 8 down the drain.

This place has gone through many owners throughout the past 10 years. I’m glad they keep the menu the same and it seems the food recipes are consistent with each new owner. That’s a good thing! They do have reasonable prices for their food. It has gone up within the years but it’s to be expected. The combination entrees are a great value — lots of food and price is right! My meat eating friends order the combo plates — Chicken teriyaki and Shrimp tempura — they love it. They also love the gyoza and beef teriyaki combo plates. Really can’t go wrong. They love how the Chicken teriyaki tastes… they say it’s pretty tasty in comparison to other teriyaki joints. I usually order the vegetarian entrees. They are good. The veggie soup is made w/water base and the portions are fantastic! Lot’s of soup for less than $ 8! Yay! It’s worth a try! It’s a good fast teriyaki food /casual dining place. Food 4 Service 4 Décor and Ambience 3 Cleanliness 3 Price 5

I eat here alot — but I ALWAYS get the Kung Pao chicken special. Lots of chicken and veggies(mushrooms, zucchini, celery, water chestnut, bell pepper, baby corn). Great sauce, spicy, perfect steamed rice and two gyoza and salad for $ 6.50 incl tax. Super friendly service. They dont use disposable service if you dine in(no plastic/styro) a big thumbs up on the ‘green’ rating. The ‘Specials’ on the white board behind the counter are the best deal… and the ‘Specials’ havent changed in the 4 years I’ve been coming in here except for a modest price increase. On the flip side, this place needs a thorough deep clean — tables have perennial sticky spots, salt/pepper shakers scary. But since this strip mall is on the chopping block for Bothells grand plan they’ll probably just wait till they have to move. And the name is Happy Lake Teriyaki & Wok #1, I think at one time they thought there would be a #2. Or maybe they think they are the #1 Teriyaki. who knows. In the meantime, you’ll find me there once a week for that Spicy Kung Pao.

Wow. This place is dirty. Just walked out and did not even order. Teriyaki sauce running down the walls by the kitchen and the little curtain over where they pass the food through is stained with food that rubs on it. Wish I would have taken a picture of it. If I can see stuff like this from the dining area, wonder what the kitchen is like.

I was cranky with I 90 shut down… my breezy 15 to 20 minute commute had become a 60 minute tragedy. I thought about crying, I thought about singing loudly to angsty 90s music… in the end, I pulled over and got teriyaki. Oh how I love when I make a good decision. The chicken was tender, not tough, and the sauce was not too sweet which some places overcompensate with and leave me a little bummed. The only problem was me not thinking about how effin’ hard it is to eat teriyaki while driving… Needless to say I wasn’t using chopsticks. I’m not sure I’ll ever be back here due to the location in proximity to where I live, but who know, maybe I 90 will close again someday.
