If you want a feel for what this place is all about I highly recommend the Liar King roll.

I was planning on going to Tora for the ramen but when I found out that they were closed to redesign the ramen service I decided I’d give Kasa’s ramen a chance, and I really wish I had read some of the reviews first. Service was fine. Was greeted and seated promptly, my server was friendly and attentive. My shoyu ramen came out pretty quickly, and I was immediately disappointed. Thin, watery broth that had very little oil and little flavor apart from the salt. Very few vegetables, stiff and flavorless noodles, only half of a hard boiled(not soft boiled) egg, and a thin small piece of pork that was all right. I may have given another star if the ramen didn’t cost $ 14. In all honesty I’ve had better gourmet instant ramen. Maybe Kasa’s sushi is good, but if that’s the case they may want to stick to what they know and take the ramen off of their menu. I felt ripped off, and probably won’t be coming back.

My office is not too far from this place and recently I noticed signs in the window advertising two ramen offerings. Being one who loves and appreciates good ramen, I took note and today stopped in to try it out. I wish I hadn’t. It wasn’t too busy and service was prompt and cordial. We were seated quickly and menus and water were brought to our table quickly. Absolutely fine service. Unfortunately, the food is where the real problems were hidden. The shoyu broth was flavorless, as were the noodles which also were overcooked to an almost mushy consistency. Also, the toppings were really lackluster. There were a couple of pieces of chashu which were fine and a ½ of a soft-boiled egg. That was fine too, although a whole egg would’ve been more appropriate for the price. Next there were two small pieces of greens that I presume were bok choy? And maybe some sprouts. That was it. No flavor, no color, no texture. All for $ 13.95. I left feeling extremely unsatisfied and regretful that I chose Kasa on this day. But live and learn. I will not go back.

I had the bibimbap and loved it. The egg was perfectly cooked. The green tea was tasty and refreshing, and I thought $ 15 for lunch in a pretty location on Pearl was a good deal.

We are huge sushi fans and stumbled upon this restaurant. It is FANTASTIC. Truly some of the best rolls we’ve ever had, plus great service. Yes, a bit pricey, but I feel like good sushi is worth paying for.

The food is expensive but the quality is normal(I do not think it is better than any other Japanese restaurant nearby) Moreover, we waited for around an HOUR for the whole dinner to be served, and it did not! I paid and left before. They told me there was a problem in something, so the staff seemed stressed out and acted rude to me after I start complaining. It was my first and last time and honestly, I left in a bad mood. and I felt it was a total waste of time and money.

Meh. Came here for lunch, didn’t think anything was special– fish tasted a little off– especially the tuna. Gyoza appetizer was alright. Overall left with a ~$ 60 bill. Service was good though– our waitress was very attentive. Wouldn’t recommend though based on quality of food.

They have nice patio seating on the Pearl Street Mall. Nice selection of drinks, rolls, and sashimi. The service was a bit off but overall I liked the place.

I had the Red Dragon roll which was great. The edamame and yasal tempura, however, were not that great. The edamame tasted bland and a bit too soft and the tempura wasn’t very crunchy. My friends had a nigiri(we don’t remember which) and the fish didn’t taste fresh, which may just be an issue with fish in a landlocked area. The waiters were really friendly and attentive. They filled our water constantly and even brought us forks /chop stick holders when they realized one person in our party couldn’t use chop sticks.

Too pricy for tiny rolls. The fish is good quality and the flavors are fine but my portions were tiny! I guess the location bumps the prices, but I would NOT go here again. There are better deals all over Boulder.

I usually don’t write reviews based on prices, but I definitely felt ripped off after eating lunch here. I was absolutely shocked by the bill to be honest. Prices not marked on specials and no discount for lunch. We paid for a small lunch what we normally pay for dinner in a place like izikaya or sushi den, and we didn’t even get sake. Sushi was good, nice big pieces of fish but in no way was it anything special at all. Not even close. All fish was normal fish, nothing exotic like Scottish salmon or things of that nature. Average to above average sushi with average levels of creative plating and sauces for really really unreasonable prices. Won’t be back.

Where should I begin. ..(never a good way to begin a review) We had a group of 9 that came in and got seated right away. It was a Sunday evening, and there was only one of small group seated in the restaurant. Shortly after being seated we were told they would only split the check a max of 3 ways, but will take multiple cards for each check. Alright — a bit inconvenient, but we can deal with it. There was a plate in the center of the table with some handwritten specialty rolls and the ingredients contained within. There was also an out of place woman who clearly worked there, but wasn’t doing anything except hovering close to our table. At one point she was so closely looking over our shoulder she had to comment on that she was standing there, but didn’t want to interfere with our waitress because we were clearly feeling uncomfortable about it. Later on we saw her behind the counter preparing sushi so I still have no idea what she was doing standing over us like this. Looking over the sushi menu the most expensive roll we saw was $ 17. We placed our orders and when the bill came we found that the specialty rolls they had written in the table averaged $ 25 each. A pretty irritating surprise to have this big of a price jump for a single roll over anything else they have listed on their menu. Made us feel like a bait and switch because they didn’t have that listed on their ‘specials’ plate. Our fault for not specifically asking about it, but doesn’t change that having a 32% price hike between rolls is significant enough that it should be disclosed. The sushi was alright — nothing amazing, but I didn’t find it poor quality either. I have to speak for myself though because one member of our group never got his food. They told him 3 times his food was coming up, and after everyone else at the table had received and finished their food he still had gotten nothing. When he brought it up again and said to just cancel the order because he was tired of waiting their response was, again, «it is being prepared now». When he still pushed that it was unacceptable at this point and he wanted to cancel it and get his check they tried to push bringing it in a to go box which obviously is a terrible solution given the situation. He had ordered a couple of sides and a non-alcoholic soft drink as well, and nothing was done to accommodate his bill. Just a clear showing that there was very little concern over completely forgetting his order until it was too late. The best thing about this experience was the company I was with. Everyone in our group felt dissatisfied with some aspect of their meal, and were in agreement to never come here again.

Horrible and very misleading. We had a group of 9 and they refused to split the check between more than three people. The food came out extremely slow and pieces at a time. Eventually we had to cancel one persons whole order because before any of his food arrived everyone else was already done eating. Then there«special» menu had everything priced between 12 – 14 $ but some where missing prices. When we got the bill there was one single roll that cost $ 25. Small portions Slow service Misleading menu I will never go back

Needed a sushi fix and chose the closest spot to the office. Landlocked state so I just went with veggie sushi, didn’t think it could be that bad. The vegetables themselves, standard. Pickled veggies, asparagus, the avocado looked like it was overripe though. It was the assembly that left me appalled. Each roll was falling apart, so loosely put together. There weren’t even individual pieces, just kind of a pile of rice, veggie, and seaweed wrapper all in a lump. I was sooo looking forward to my salad with ginger carrot dressing, instead got this incredibly sour vinegary carrot concoction. Pass on this spot if you’re considering a veggie lunch, you get a sub par salad and an unidentifiable lump of rice and vegetables. Save your money for elsewhere.

Pretty good sushi, but be sure to ask for prices on the specials! My friend and I learned this the hard way. We were seeking a lighter, post-workout lunch and we ended up significantly lighter in the wallets. We wanted to go for some more«interesting» rolls versus the lunch specials under the premise that we would order a lunchtime portion. We had: — Salmon nigiri(two pieces) — Seared tuna(two pieces) — Organic roll(seared tuna, jalepenos, sprouts, and a tasty sauce) — Yellow jello roll(salmon, I think, with mango and mango purée) — Rock and roll(various fish wrapped in cucumber with a special sauce) — Seaweed salad to share — Tea The seaweed salad, which came out first, was somewhat of a warning sign. For $ 6, we got a pretty small wad(about the size of an egg) of seaweed salad. They didn’t even attempt to make it look like more by putting on top of dressed greens like other places do. It was seaweed salad like any other place. Our rolls were pretty unique, and well presented. Nigiri was pretty standard(relatively thin cuts). I think my favorite was the organic roll as I enjoyed the contrasting heat of the jalapenos and added wasabi. However, all of the rolls were much colder than what I assume is customary and the rice lacked stick and seasoning. The mango sauce on the yellow jello roll was somewhat cloying. I like the sweet contrast that fruit provides in a roll, but this was too much. My friend was in the bathroom when the bill came out and I was instantly embarrassed when I opened it(for having chosen this place). $ 89 for two… for lunch(and more than $ 100 after tip)! And no alcohol. Painful. The organic roll(my favorite) was $ 24. Luckily I won a $ 50 gift card to Pharmaca at the fitness event we were at prior to, so I felt a little bit better. But damn. There are much better sushi options in B-town for much less money.

I WAS a big fan of Kasa. Went last week and was surprised at some small but noticeable changes. For starters, well their starters were disappointing. Ordered Shrimp Shumai, standard nothing special. Only 3 shumai per order. Maybe the waiter ate one on way to the table? Also, order some sushi and asked about whether mayo was in it. Server said she didn’t think so. I asked if she could check and let us know. She came back and said not really? WTF? Not really what? Server said not really there is only a little mayo in the sushi dish. Huh? One drink sushi for 2 and a total of $ 90. Overpriced for what it is. I would’ve given 2 stars but I like that it is usually quiet.

Mi Kasa es Su Casa Kasa doesn’t have the best curb appeal. In fact, it doesn’t even seem at all like the trendy and good looking place that it actually is. Check out the pictures I posted, absolutely not a shabby location to have some sushi on Pearl! I dig the service we received, the food was pretty spot on, but the only things that didn’t go down easy was the price tag to our normal sushi fanfare && the fact that not one server asked if I wanted a refill on my tea the entire time we were there(and I polished that sucker off fast). Granted they might not do refills on the particular bevvy I ordered but that should be irrelevant. The sushi and food was a little on the pricey side. The average portion sizes didn’t make up for it either. I’m sure being from CA where there’s a sushi joint everywhere and the fish is more readily available MIGHT be the reason why I think their«moderately» priced food was ridic. Sure, I enjoyed my family & breaking bread together… But I’m sure Jesus would have choked after seeing the bill if he had to pick up the tab for my family of two adults and two light eating kids that shared a California Roll. Would I come back? Ehh, possibly but not anytime soon.
