OMG. Came here so hungover and immediately we were served beer. Great. And then we got some water and the dankest chips and salsa. So good so far. Got the carnitas. #blessed. ABSOLUTELYWOULDRECOMMEND. Hangover is gone.

Get the Tacos de Mexico, I’m from Houston and these are delish! The wife loves the cheese enchiladas and she’s super picky about Mexican food.

Service is awsome, I understand the speed of the service on happy hour, well in all restaurants, soo… but the seafood enchiladas are awesome.

Came here with a few friends for the happy hour and ended up staying for dinner. I tried the Cadillac Margarita, which was tasty and strong. Definitely a good bang for your buck! I never like the overly sweet margaritas that feel like a guaranteed hang over, so this one was great. For dinner I split the shrimp fajitas with a friend. The sauce on the shrimp was delicious, and it came with a generous portion of sides– tortillas, rice, beans, pico de gallo, cheese, and guacamole. I also tried a bite of the Molcajete Vegetariano, which I’d never heard of before. It’s similar to a vegetable stew and included yummy nopales. Friendly service and colorful atmosphere. If you’re looking for a casual but delicious place for food and drinks, I’d definitely recommend it.

I’m one of those people who just drinks water all the time. I can buy drinks if I like, but prefer water. So does my buddy, so we both ordered water. We both tried it about the same time & gave each other the same ugly look. The water had soap in it. I noticed that 3 servers standing nearby watched as we tried the water. Now I’m not going to go so far as to say we got soapy water as an underhanded sales tactic to get us to buy drinks, but we both immediately ordered beers. Almost cold beers. I hadn’t seen my friend in a very long time, so I didn’t even notice until I got home that I got the wrong meal. I only noticed it as I looked at the receipt and noticed the price difference. Then I noticed I was charged for and served a different meal altogether… another 40%. Communication with our servers was poor. We had 4 or 5. Maybe more? We waited 20 minutes for change. They weren’t busy. And yet I somehow feel compelled to give this place an extra star. That’s because the kitchen almost killed it. If it weren’t for the dried-up & very plain white rice, which was mixed in, the meal would have been impossibly good. But that did no favors for the texture & dragged the rest down to just average… that’s being kind. You probably won’t bump into me there, but if you’re feeling lucky, it seems like the kitchen is at least capable of producing a tasty meal if you time it right. Oh, and don’t drink the water!

Spot was on the money. After reading numerous reviews, ranging from the worst to the best I give it a solid 4 stars. The service was great other than the fact that our server spoke little to no English. Drinks came out fast and before we knew it so did our dinners. Meats were seasoned well and everything tasted pretty good, other than the weak rice that accompanied the plates. Will have to go back again.

My friend in Colorado insisted that Rincon Del Sol was some of the best Mexican food she’s ever had. As a San Francisco, I was certainly skeptical. However, I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised when we grabbed a bite there last weekend on my visit. Walking into the restaurant, it was packed for the big CU/Oregon game(already a good sign). Even though it was really busy, we were greeted right away and seated in a booth at by the bar. Immediately, we ordered margaritas. TIP: get the house margarita. It’s much better than the«Skinny» margarita and a great bang for your buck. I love sitting down at a restaurant and immediately getting food. This place pretty much won me over with endless chips salsa and bean dip! Both dips had the perfect balance of spice. I ordered a lot. The Chicken Tortilla Soup and the Camarones de Casa(House Shrimp). The chicken soup surprised me. It tasted homemade with healthy doses of avocado and chicken. The Camarones de Casa blew me away! I was already full from my giant bowl of soup(and bean dip), but managed to pretty much clean my plate. If you’re a mushroom fan, this dish is for you. Overall, the restaurant has a cozy family feel that’s reflected in the environment and in the food itself. If you’re heading to Boulder, swing by this gem, grab a(massive and strong) margarita and enjoy!!!

Very friendly service, great food, sufficient parking. Had the surf and turf and it was big enough to to share. Good margaritas. We like this place!

I have thoroughly enjoyed every meal I have eaten at Ricon Del Sol. I’m a stickler for good Mexican food and know what I’m looking for. Their salsa is flavorful, good service, with strong and delicious coin margaritas. I especially enjoyed the Molcajete. Best Mexican I have found in Boulder!

We happened upon it on our visit to Boulder My husband loves authentic Mexican food so we thought we would give this a try. He got a shrimp dish that was wonderful with rice and beans and they spiced it up just for him. I can’t always eat at Mexican restaurants because of my allergies but they were very accommodating the service was great my lunch was delicious. My husband also raved over chips and salsa. We look forward to coming back

Overall, it wasn’t a great experience. After finding this on Unilocal and seeing mixed reviews, I figured it was worth a try. Upon arriving, the staff were slow to get me seated. There was no one at the front desk and instead the servers stood near the bar talking(which turned out to be a common theme throughout my experience). After being seated, the first server seemed friendly, but then told us how she was tired from working 2 jobs. This was irrelevant to our meal and didn’t make it seem like the restaurant treated their staff well. The first server was then followed by another server that didn’t speak good English so she called yet another server who finally took our order. The menu was very confusing, especially the combo dishes which didn’t clearly state what options were available. A better system would have step-by-step options on the menu. I ordered a soup and a combo option. I assumed, like most restaurants, that the soup would be brought out first. Instead, both dishes were brought out at the same time. Not a huge deal, but one got cold while the other was consumed. The food was actually not bad, so there’s that. But the service remained subpar throughout the meal. The server never checked on how things were; the staff stood around talking and reading a newspaper and it was difficult to get a servers attention. When I did, they seemed perturbed and not particularly pleased to help. I also had to remind the sever a number of times to get more water, napkins, etc. Overall, I’d say it would be good food to go or a nice place to stop for a quick lunch. But the underwhelming service experience and atmosphere doesn’t make for a superb dining experience.

Totally changes your perspective on what arroz con pollo can be. I learned it really can be just chicken with rice. #thesecretsauceistomatosauce

I didn’t like the first couple bites of my burrito because I thought it tasted funny. After a couple more bites, though, I was very happy. The portions are huge and the prices are pretty good. The fajita burrito that the gf was probably a little better than my carne asada one.

HORRIBLE service. we had 4 different college kids come to our table. all had terrible attitudes, and acted like they would rather be anywhere else. on top of the bad service, the food was shit. they messed up all of our orders, and didn’t even offer to fix them. do not waste your time, or your money here. BOO.

The Original margarita is the best in Boulder… no sweet and sour, real citrus, triple sec and excellent taquilla. The food is Mexican family food: traditional and is very good, with some outstanding items such as the camerones ala diabla. The menu is large with something for every taste. The service is friendly and efficient. We now live in the neighborhood but would travel hours for this lovely reminder of Mexico.

This place has been here since Turleys moved out of this loaction. It says a lot that when Turleys was here, the parking lot was always jammed. Now, not so much. This is one more example of mediocre Mexican food in Boulder. So so food, chips from a bag(or tub) and cheese that probably came from a tube. This place is OK, but not great. Barely good. The service is pretty good, however. the staff works hard and tries hard. Their food doesn’t quite live up to the service.

The food here is not good. I’ve been coming here for close to 6 years and I will tell you it’s definitely not because of the food. It’s solely for the cheap margaritas. The food is bland and ultimately hard to differentiate any of the other plates from one another. The salsa here is actually good, but that’s it. On any given night or day you can drive by and see the specials board outside that will read 2 for 1 margaritas, they do this on any size margarita. They have a 32 oz margarita that you can get 2 for 1, that’s right 64 oz of margarita for the price of one. Another great drink they have is a Bloody Mary, they make the Bloody Mary mix from scratch and you can tell. It is the perfect amount of spicy and tomato, definitely give this a try. Overall it’s a great place to get a drink or two but not to eat.
