I had the Thai food and was very underwhelmed(we had the eggplant and a noodle dish). The food was overpriced, the portion sizing was very small, the actual meaningful ingredients were lacking(if I pay extra to add chicken to a dish, I expect more than 3 pieces), and the overall flavor was mediocre. The only reason why I am giving this 2 stars is because the owners seemed nice. Do yourself a favor and go down the street to Buddha Café, a much better Thai option.

The food was good and tasty, but nothing special. The portion could definitely be bigger, or the price could be lower. I ordered food online, so I have not seen neither the interior not the service. The food came super warm, which was nice. Compared to other places for take out food in Boulder, when searching on Unilocal, this place was the best available option.

I came from Houston to visit and let me just say that it hit the spot! Great service and great food!

Try the green curry here. It’s delicious. The people are friendly. Very casual on the interior. They offer a brown rice option. Not the prettiest area of town, but accessible. Excellent option for take out.

We’ve always been hesitant to try Thai Shi because it has always looked a little run down and dirty — not to mention the sushi place here before this was terrible and always had horrible Unilocal reviews. However, we decided to try one evening and we were so pleasantly surprised! We tried the crab wontons off the Thai menu, and two sushi rolls. They were all fantastic! My only complaint is that I was not hungry enough to eat everything on the menu :)

Good food in small portions with a big bill. We had the Prig Pow stir fry and tempura vegetables. The server was pleasant, but was unable to adjust our order as we changed our mind. We received our initial order despite the attempt. All options were tasty and visibly stimulating, but disappointing by size. There are better options for Thai in Boulder that are similarly priced; Aloy, Khow Thai, and Thai Kitchen just a block south to name a few. We will not return.

This place is mediocre. The people who run it are sweet, but the food isn’t spectacular and the time it takes to get your food, both dining in and pick up is ridiculous. Also, the food is really overpriced for what it is.

Would return for sure. Standard Pad Thai with good flavor. Generous portion just enough for lunch. Picked up and did not eat there but it seemed nice inside and would not hesitate to eat there. $ 12 all in with tax for meal. Not great prices but typical for Boulder.

Great food. Quick delivery. I ordered Thai food and the flavor was right on for take out. Not too greasy.

I was recommended from a friend that loved their sushi so I decided to try it out. I wasn’t in the mood for sushi, but I am always in the mood for Thai. We ordered hot sake, and I got the Beef panang with brown rice. The sake went down smooth and the panang was one of the best I have ever had! They include so much vegetables and beef that I was highly impressed! I did try my friend’s sushi and I wasn’t a big fan of it, but I won’t take any stars for that since I have no idea what his order was. The service was phenomenal! If I lived around here, I would be going to this restaurant once a week, for sure!

We went here last week on a thursday evening, it was quite empty. However we decided to still try it out. I like that they have sushi and thai all in one place since we were craving both that night. The sushi was great and fresh! We also go Beef Pad kee mao and red curry. The curry was a little to sweet for my taste but still tasty! The noodles were great as well(although i like the noodles to be more wide and flat). The servers were friendly. I would return here if i come back to boulder!

I only ever sit at the sushi bar, so I can’t really speak for the cooked menu, but Leo is always so wonderful! He remembers me, even when I haven’t been in in a while, and it’s clear that he takes a lot of pride in his work. My plate is always beautiful and different every time, even if I order the same sushi. I’m a big fan of the Galaxy Roll in particular. I’m a tuna lover, and this roll definitely satisfies that craving. The fish is delicious and every bite is a treat. Don’t be afraid to ask for something off menu, though! Leo will happily make you just about anything, all you have to do is ask. This is one of my favorite sushi spots in Boulder, hands down!

I only ever get takeout but this is my favorite of all! Brown rice option makes it perfect for my every other week take-out option. I also think the staff is lovely — very helpful and kind. Always my go-to.

First time here yesterday. I’ve lived in Boulder over 20 years and I’ve tried most all the Asian restaurants. I’ve scaled that back in the past few years due to the cost of eating out, but yesterday I got a craving for Thai. I was heading to another place when I drove past Thai Shi and thought, ok, I know it’s been here a few years, and I’ve never been in, never even check it on Unilocal. So I pulled into Boulder Gas and pulled it up on my phone. The reviews sounded really good. So, I turned around and headed back. It was around 5:30 when I pulled in, by myself. The place was pretty empty, which didn’t bode well for me, but it’s summer and locals often eat later in the summer. Many people are out hiking, walking dogs, etc. after work, so I didn’t really give it much more thought. Me, I like to go out for happy hour and see what’s what at places I’ve never been to. Still, customers came and went at a slow pace throughout my time there. I wasn’t in a hurry, so I ordered some house sake, talked to the owner a bit, then read the menu. I was seated next to a younger couple. Turned out they are regulars, so I talked with them about what they were having and what to order. Unfortunately, I’m allergic to soy, I don’t like coconut anything, and I don’t eat raw fish anymore, so my conversation with the owner was way more helpful and than that of the couple. So, I ordered Unagi off the sushi menu and the house salad with ginger dressing to start. Figured I’d see how full I was before ordering more. The house saki was pretty good. I had it cold as I prefer cold sake. Not too sweet or dry. Quite smooth. The Unagi was really lovely. It’s one of my favorites as it’s so velvety and tasty when it’s fresh, which this was. 2 pieces for $ 5 seemed expensive though, but I didn’t complain. It wasn’t a happy hour special. The house salad looked great, with crisp fresh veggies, but it was swimming in the dressing. Way too much dressing. Luckily it was all on the bottom, so I could control it better. Presentation was good. After that, I was still hungry so I looked over the menu again and decided on the scallop special. My waiter told me there would be about 10 pieces of scallops. When it arrived though, there were only 6 pieces of scallops and they were smaller than I expected. Still, it was perfectly prepared, but for $ 20, I would have expected more. The décor is a bit eclectic. The background music was American(I heard many familiar tunes). When speaking with the owner, she told me she is from Taiwan, which is probably why she decided to offer the variety of dishes she does. Her English is very good. Maybe she’s been in the US a long time or learned American English in Taiwan? Who cares. She’s a lovely person and that’s what counts! My waiter was obviously an American though. Only 3 stars for now because when I got up to use the restroom, and I told the waiter I wasn’t done yet, and he knew this because I had just ordered my main course, the busboy came and removed my sake from my table, which I wasn’t done with. I complained to the owner and she brought me another serving, but I’m sure there were at least 2 servings left in the bottle. Oh well, I won’t make that mistake again.

As others say, don’t judge this book by its cover. Once my staple for quick to-go lunch bowls, Thai Shi, after switching owners a few years back, has moved away from cafeteria style trays and gotten very serious about its sit down dining. Every dish I have tried has been great — both Thai and Japanese. Not sure how they do it. And the people are super friendly. My daughter loves this restaurant, and I’ve overheard other parents mention to the owner how great it was to see their kids loving new exotic food. Don’t let the appearance fool you. Go for it. They have everything so you can order anything you want. Delicious tropical juices, including lychee. And two ice cold Kirins for $ 5 is a great summer special.

After years of driving past this place I decided to stop in and I’m happy I did! I’ve always found the exterior off putting and frankly the interior could benefit from having the carpet torn out, but this is one of those situations where you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover. We went with Sushi today; the nigiri was super fresh and cut well. They have some really great rolls like the Naturo if you want a light non-rice option. I’m looking forward to going back to try the ramen and other options.

I have been here three times in past few weeks as I have been having a Thai craving. I am always concerned when a restaurant combines sushi and pretty much anything else but I was pleasantly surprised . I tried their drunken noodles the first time and they were simply some of the best I have ever had and I try this dish everywhere! The second time I tried another noodle dish(Pad S Ew) or something like that. It was good but did not compare to the drunken noodles. If you want some great Thai food you will not be happy stopping here. I also tried some salmon and yellow tail. I thought it was good but I did not appreciate as much as their thai food. A great Thai place.

Sushi is amazing, thai food is amazing, you cant go wrong here! Ask for their Saturday special, 5 special rolls and 10 sashimi for $ 50. Its the best deal in town! Love this place and love that they have both thai and sushi, great for everyone in the family. It isnt«trendy» like the places down on pearl, but its one of the best places in town. This is a Saturday staple, the sushi chef greets us every time we walk in the door!

* We live in Boulder, CO. So we’ve had the opportunity to trial all the Sushi restaurants in our area. They have creative, fresh sushi, Japanese & Thai food. We love the«Drunken Noodles«(Soft rice noodles stir fried w/egg, fresh chili pepper, baby bok choy and Thai basil) We order it w/Tofu however they offer beef, shrimp, chicken, tofu or Red Snapper. Fun place to chill, the owners are on-sight and always welcome you.
