I love this pizza. Unfortunately, as I drove past it tonight I noticed that the place was dark. A check of the website and it’s dark too. Goodbye, Tossa. We hardly knew ye. Confirmed: It’s gone. Sign on the door describes how to get gift card refunds.

Slow-er casual… We stopped by for lunch because i saw that this was the same man who started smash burger which I read in a 5280 magazine article. We were in boulder for the day. I think I set my expectations too high. Maybe I was expecting the smash burger of pizza. Lovely clean and casual interior… almost an upper fast casual. Menu looked good but I tried the margherita and three meat Italian. Two smalls were perfect for two people to share. While the crust was good both pizzas lacked sauce and was too dry. Since I don’t go to boulder very much I probably won’t stop by again but only because I want to also try pizza locale which I also read about in 5280 magazine. It’s in the corner of the shopping center across from Massage Envy. Parking is a little cramped in its cul-de-sac, so park in the main shopping center lot. Easily accessed here by bus and close enough to CU to walk.

A touch of Cisco food services in a strip mall. Pass. I’m starting to think Boulder has a conspiracy against bad food ratings. This place was not busy but our food came out only mildly warm. We were instructed to not touch the plates because of the heat. Pasta? Nothing special. Salad? Nothing special. The ingredients aren’t exciting, inspiring, or just classically good.

LOVEDIT! Very casual Italian, but much higher quality and more authentic than Olive Garden! I had a lunch special which included a small pizza(I had the shrimp pesto, and it was WONDERFUL) with the lemon pistachio salad. YUMYUMYUM! The food was FRESH(not heavy or greasy), and I enjoyed the great flavor combinations. The restaurant was beautiful and clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We were looking for a local place that was quick and easy… and wanted something a little better than fast-food, but not too pricy! This place fit the bill perfectly! Please come to Dallas — we’d visit you all the time if you put a restaurant in our home town!!! :)

We had a really nice meal here last night — solid pizza, toppings on the pizza were just right, good response when we needed to customize our order a bit and very solicitous service! Very laid back décor and atmosphere perfect for the last-minute plan we made to eat ehre and relax. I’m sure we’ll be back!

I’ve eaten at Tossa twice recently & am already planned for a third trip. On the first visit we had a large group & a time crunch & they took great care of our needs. The lemon & pistachio chicken was quite different from the usual Italian fare, but quite delicious. The second visit was much more leisurely. We had the same server & she was right on once again. I had the marinara al forno & I added chicken. It was baked pasta done very well. The patio was very pleasant with a view of Boulder’s mountains.

Yum. This is closer to how pizza tastes in Rome than most places in the US make it. Super thin crispy crust, light on the cheese, big on the flavor. Well, I should edit to say I had the magharita — which should be light on cheese and big on flavor. This is a really affordable lunch place that has good ambiance. I definitely recommend it.

We found this little gem of a pizzeria based off of Unilocal reviews. Unilocal reviews rarely lead you astray and this was no exception. We ordered their pizza to go with goat cheese, onions, peppers, and bacon. And the heavens opened and the angels sang. Yeah, it was that good. The crust was crispy on the outside and thin enough to keep the focus on the toppings. Very delicious.

This is such a great little find! Sure, it’s a little sterile inside(looks like it’s planned to be the first of many restaurants) but it’s comfortable. Food is high quality, with great prices. We have our go to dishes that we’ve ordered multiple times, it’s hard to break away from them! We get a dinner size mac ‘n cheese(shared by three), and then usually a large half three meat and half white tomato(add the herb ricotta, very good). Half the pizza goes home. A small really is enough to share. I finally got to try the marinara al forna and it’s a nice, cheesy comfort dish. As far as wines go, order the Big Pour of the night. Definitely a favorite easy dinner spot!

Well, first experience was a good one minus the place doesn’t smell very good. Kind of a weird fast food scent. Second time? The worst. Terrible service, the manager walked by twice and saw us and smiled — thanks for noticing we all had empty water glasses and were doing our best to make eye contact with the server to order more food/drinks. She had a total of TWO tables, ours and one other, at 7pm, and I’ve literally not had worse service in Boulder. I couldn’t believe the manager didn’t come back by with a water jug or ask how we were doing either — pathetic. The pizza was OK, the small size is a rip off too. We asked the server if it was a good size for two, she said yes, it was about the size of an appetizer. Their ‘alfredo’ is an insult to Italians, it’s mac n cheese so do not be fooled. Thanks for nothing Tossa!

Enjoyed a fantastic lunch. Had the chicken mushroom truffle pasta. For a pasta dish I did not feel too guilty enjoying it. Lunch was generous portion at a great price. They mixed a peach Italian soda for me that was good as well. Good prices on the wine. I was not able to partake in the vino as I had to go back to work. :(I am really looking forward to going back and trying other menu options! Great service too!

The worst thing about Tossa is that if you’re driving west on Arapahoe, you will have missed the entrance to the parking lot by the time you realize that it looks like a great place to grab a bite. Fast, fresh, welcoming, and inspired, it’s the perfect place for a social or work lunch. The Goat Cheese al Forno appetizer comes with soft, warm focaccia to dip, and is perfect to share. I have started to crave the Harvest Salad, while my coworker always orders the Sicilian Orange Salad with pepperoni, and I’m always tempted by their fashionable-looking pizza. Apart from the great food, Tossa also has very efficient, happy service, and the prices are reasonable. Additionally, if you give them a call for pickup, the food is always ready within 10 minutes! I recommend Tossa to anyone whose normal lunchtime ritual is one of those 29th St. quick ‘n’ filling chains like Noodles and Co. or Modmarket. Tossa is less crowded, tastier, just as convenient, and not a chain! It feels good to eat there.

Probably my new favorite pizza in boulder! The waitstaff is friendly and professional, the environment relaxed, and the food beyond delicious. We ordered a mushroom, arugula and truffle oil pizza. It was beyond amazing! And fast too! Also. FRENCHPRESSCOFFEE! And good french press coffee at that! That’s probably what cemented the fifth star for me. :) We were beyond delighted to try Tossa and will most certainly be back soon!

I finally stopped in tonight after driving by for months, and this was one of the best meals I’ve had in months We went in around 6pm on a Friday night, were seated promptly, and ordered the Fondue, which was delicious(although a tiny bit cheap with the bread). Then, as soon as we had finished the fondue, they delivered my Goat Cheese and Spinach pizza, which was absolutely wonderful. Seriously, one of the most unique pizzas I’ve had in a long time. Absolutely delicious. My girlfriend ordered the White Tomato pizza, which was quite good, but didn’t quite hold a candle to the Goat Cheese and Spinach. The total? $ 24 + Tip. I can’t wait to bring some of my foodie friends there as soon as I get a chance. Absolutely wonderful, wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Only been here twice now, but this place is amazing! $ 5 glasses of wine, wonderful service and creative menu are definite highlights. Best mac and cheese EVER. Also, try the carbonara pizza. I hope this place sticks around, I will definitely be a regular!

Excellent quality & creativity. We started with the Italian Fondue which was closer to a vegetarian queso fundido than a fondue but it was very good. We also had the warm olives which were a variety of quality olives heated with preserved orange(delicious and creative). My entrée was the Pizza Carbonnara which was excellent and a nice subtly-flavored accompaniment to the olives. My companions had dishes cooked in a wine sauce(one shrimp and one chicken) which were delicious but not very visually appealing. Overall an excellent meal and a low price. Highly recommended by this pessimistic Unilocaler.

Excellent pizza! Ok service. I was less than impressed by their lackluster selection of beers, of which they only had bottles(think bud light…). Though they did carry two beers from a brewery in nearby Fort Collins, I think they could benefit by broadening their selection. Additionally I had lemon sorbet for dessert. Though cold it was a bit slimy/stringy which I’ve never experienced in sorbet before, yuck.

I tried Tossa not because I heard anything about it but because I was just curious. Boulder seems to have a new pizza shop pop up on the hour every hour so it’s hard to stay current.(First wold problems) We had a party of 4 to feed so we ordered 2 large pizzas.(1) large CARBONARA and(1) large MARGHERITA. (Word to the wise one large pizza can feed 4) Both pizzas were incredible and I would HIGHLY recommend Tossa to anyone who enjoys fine Italian inspired ‘za.

Really, really enjoyed my experience at Tossa. Great sandwiches, pizza and the warm olive appetizer is excellent! My partner had a chicken sandwich, loaded with fillings, and they let him sub soup for a salad. I had a «make your own pizza» which was cooked perfectly. And the olives… if you like olives — try the app! Atmosphere is cool — they mix funky light fixtures and comfy seating to make a cozy ambiance. Service was spot on, and — I forgot my leftovers, realized it and ran back — the staff hadn’t pitched them as I’d thought they might — they were in a fridge, waiting for me. How great is that? Prices are very reasonable, portions are perfect, and overall, this is a great place to try for a variety of good food and service.

I’ve been passing by Tossa everyday on the way to my car from campus for the last couple of months, and was very happy to see it finally opened yesterday. I came in and they were happy to inform me I was their first dinner customer ever. Choosing to pass on getting served on and paying tip, I ordered a to-go small pepperoni pizza and just ate it at my table. Overall, the pizza was very tasty — It had all the good flavor profiles a proper pizza should have(a very rare thing for Boulder). The dough, sauce, cheese, and pepperoni all had great flavor, and the sprinkle of chopped parsley/basil over the top sealed the deal. I really liked the pizza and I would have given them 4 stars, but had to deduct a star for the very sloppy execution. First, the pizza was over-cooked, which made the crust on the edge-slices hard rather the presumably intended chewy result. Second, the pizza was sliced very unevenly and I got some slices that were 4 inches wide and others that were 2 inches wide — kind of annoying. Also, some slices had 4 — 5 pieces of pepperoni on them, whereas, others only had a half of a slice. And finally, some slices were completely full of herbs while others did not have any on them — this part annoyed me the most. I can finally say I found a pizza joint in Boulder I like! Plus, having payed only $ 7.50(after tax) for a good size 1-topping pizza, I definitely think this was a good deal. I will absolutely be back to try the goat chees/truffe oil pizza, meatball/giardiniera pizza, and some of their pastas. And since they just opened, I won’t pay too much attention to the sloppy execution… but I really hope they sort out their cooking staff by my next visit…
