I might be able to rate it higher if I tried the food, but we waited for about 20 minutes for someone to come to our table before we just left. Granted, they were setting up for a large table of what turned out to be screaming children, so I’m glad I didn’t stay long.

So I wanna like these guys, truly, especially when I read things like ‘Mexican Street Corn’ on the menu. That is like a magnet to my soul. Plus the staff is really nice, I like the décor, and the drinks are pretty decent. Alas, I’ve found that most of the food I order is either pretty darn bland or on the other hand over-seasoned, especially in the chili powder department. So much chili powder! No joke, I’m burping chili powder flavor as I type this. Other issues with the food; the carne asada is consistently a little dry, the guacamole is usually flavorless, the chips are greasy, and the quesadillas are overflowing with cheese. Meh meh meh.

Seems to be a trendy place, but I cannot really recommend it. We had the Carne Asada Burrito & the chicken enchiladas. Everything was overpowered by chili powder and the burrito was too spicy hot to enjoy. The house margarita was good, & I liked the home made tortilla chips. It might be ok to hang out & watch a game, but don’t come for the dinners.

Literally my fav restaurant ever! The atmosphere is so welcoming and hip. The chips are homemade, and cooked perfectly. I’ve never been disappointed when I go! Defiantly recommend!!!

Came here during an afternoon lull and got a damned respectable(if overpriced at $ 10.79) burrito. Service was prompt and friendly. Interior of the place was kind of eclectic gastro-pub-y, not like a Mexican restaurant at all; stained concrete flooring and earthtone seats/booths underlit by clear incandescent bulbs hanging from posts. Interesting spot, I might be back to check out more of the menu.

This place is great! The bartender Daniel(aka Depot) is on top of it! Great it, great bartender, and is the reason we will come back! Food is yummy! I highly recommend the avocado black bean salad! Food comes out super fast!!!

Let me start by saying that I really wanted to give 5 stars but I can’t see paying $ 4 for chips and salsa. Don’t get me wrong the chips and salsa are freaking great. But if I am going to spend over $ 10 on food or drinks then go ahead and toss in chips and salsa gratis. Just saying. OK enough of that. I came here at 4:3 befre the crowds and sat at the bar. In addition to my expensive chips and salsa(let it go already) I ordered 3 Carne Asada tacos. They were on the menu as «street tacos» hence the order of three. These were really large and loaded with fresh guacamole Pico and high grade Steak. All for only 4.00 each. I can’t wait to return to have some Margaritas.

To be honest I was a little disappointed. As soon as we walked in one of the waitresses pretty much glared at us and ignored us, walking away from us. We waited and she eventually came back to seat us. The waitress who gave us menus was wonderful though, suggested things we might like to try and even suggested we may be ordering a little too much food for two when we asked for every variety of taco(and she would have been right however we downsized after her suggestion) We got the chips and guac, and then a few different taco varieties with a side of corn and black beans. The chips and guac weren’t great, the chips a little lacklustre in flavour and the guac rather small and although had some nice flavours there wasn’t much avocado in it. The tacos DIDNOT look like the pics I’ve seen on the website etc. the cheese looked a bit odd, I’m a bit of a fan of lots of freshness in Mexican food but some iceberg lettuce didn’t really cut it for me. The flavours were ok, one was quite nice but overall a bit bland. The corn was ok, the jalepeno cream and habanero butter were good but the corn itself wasn’t like a super sweet corn. P.S $ 2.50 taco Tuesday isn’t actually that because some of them are actually $ 3.00(which isn’t really a problem buuuut that’s not what you advertise!)

I definitely enjoyed my experience at Verde! I love the vibe of this place. The staff is super friendly and welcoming. I had the California burrito and it was fantastic. I highly recommend it. It’s not too spicy and has a lot of flavor… not to mention it’s huge! I took at least half of it home. My husband ordered the Carne Asada burrito. It was equal in size, but definitely spicier– so beware if you order it! Although we didn’t, you can get your burrito deep fried with guac and sour cream on top! We shared the Mexican street corn and rice as sides. The rice was okay, but the corn was phenomenal. The jalapeño cream is quite spicy, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would definitely order it again. We also shared the chicken nachos during happy hour. The plate is huge. The shredded chicken is delicious! There are a lot of peppers and onions on the nachos, so if you don’t care for those, I would order the nachos without them. The chips were house made and incredible.

I had such high hopes for Verde. The interior is really cool, and it’s tucked in a corner of 28th Street that is wholly underutilized. The staff are always super friendly and down to chat when it’s slow. The customer service is superb all around. But when it comes to the food — the most important part — Verde is lacking. I’ve gone through a number of their burritos and nachos, and the quality is inconsistent. Sometimes, it’s pretty legit, but more often than not, it’s bland. On one occasion, it was so much worse than that: I got a bean and cheese burrito a few months back on my birthday with sides of guacamole and sour cream. I traded my sour cream with my partner for a second side of guacamole and got ready to dig in. It was moments later, as my mouth was set ablaze, that I realized my bean and cheese burrito was actually a bean, cheese, and jalapeño burrito. Seeking the cooling effects of the avocados in the guac, I essentially turned into a fire-breathing demon upon discovering that my heaping mouthful of guacamole was also loaded with jalapenos. Aye carumba! As others have touched on, the price is also out of control. With several other burrito options in Boulder, I can see how Verde works to distinguish themselves as a more upscale, hipstery burrito place. Unfortunately, the quality of the food does not match the mission or the price tag. And for the love of all that is good in this world — they really need to add a pinch more salt to their guacamole. #factsonly

Wow… i assume that most of the good reviews are based on cheap tequila and how food tastes when you’re buzzed. I had high hopes for this joint. It wasn’t that the food tasted bad, it just wasn’t great. and 14 dollars for a burrito? Seriously? Unless you’re one of the trust funder customers that is insane. Plus, my burrito said it came with avocado and sour cream. Sadly i remembered this as I was leaving.(I never got it) As far as guac goes… it just doesn’t taste fresh. Simply way to much money for what you get. I guess it could get 3 stars for Colorado — Mex. but truthfully, it was not worth 6 dollars.

Finally tried Verde and will definitely be back! Our(darling) waiter was great and the food was fresh and yum! Good Mexican food in Boulder… who knew?! The only downside was the noise. While lively and energized, it was a little difficult to hear. Some acoustic panels would go a long way.

Best happy hour in town, weekend brunch is outstanding, and the coin margarita can’t be matched anywhere in Boulder. Service is killer also.

Seriously, this place is all that. And a bowl of Chips. Order the Gauc. .. you won’t be sorry! My work friend and I have headed there for lunch a few times. The first time, I got the Californai burrito. MMMMM. Perfection. The second time I got street tacos. Come to me you smiley, fresh, perfectly portioned lunch-able food. Then, we found out it was Taco Tuesday and our lunch bill was tiny! While sitting there basking in our glorious lunch-fortune, a taco-salad went by and I totally had to eat it. So we went back. Each time, it’s been simple, easy-going atmosphere, great service, comfy seating and little wait, and delicious, delicious, delicious. Can’t wait to go back!

I’m familiar with these guys from their truck! They’ve built a nice place here — the interior. Not a bad location really, except that it is tucked off the street. They’ve got a bar and a bunch of seating of various sorts — tall tables, short ones, big and small. I’ve gone here three times now — making my way through the menu. I’ve found the food variable — sometimes it’s great, other times I literally say ‘meh’. The portion sizes are large, but unfortunately so are the prices. Two huge burritos, smothered, to-go cost me almost $ 30 after tip. Seriously, it’s pretty impossible for the food to be that good. Apparently Movement members get a discount. Be sure to use it!

Cute hipsterish taco joint, exactly what I expected from Boulder. Green chile has a nice kick to it, and I feel like the burritos were a good value. They messed up my husband’s order TWICE the first time he went, but he said the wrong thing was still tasty so whatever. Our waiter today had to double-check our order a few minutes after taking it because he’d forgotten a couple details, so it seems like they may have some issues with getting everything right. To be fair, there are several options to choose with each dish(smothered? fried? black or pinto beans?) so perhaps the waiters need to write orders down.

This review is for their new actual restaurant NOT the truck. Went on Thursday Oct. 2nd. during their first official week open. We were a party of 6, ordered some drinks, margaritas and beers. Margs were just ok, nothing special, the beer tasted flat, not a big deal. Ordered nachos and some of roasted corn for appetizers. nachos were meh, and the roasted corn NEVER arrived. Oh well, they were busy and disorganized. Person taking order and person brining food were different. Original order taker didn’t come back till we were ready for our check. For main course had 3 of their burritos, and one order of the chicken street tacos. The burritos are a lot of beans, and light on the other fillings carne asada and carnitas. The street tacos were ok. No salsa provided. We also ordered side of rice and beans for taco. Would be happy to give a review of the rice and beans, except, they NEVER arrived. Were on the final bill, which they removed but again servers seemed harried and unable to manage the approximately 12 tables. Overall higher prices than their truck with worse service. Since it just opened, i’d consider giving another try, but not rushing back till they’ve had at least a month or so to get their ordering and serving processes worked out.

Just did a second trip to this restaurant and I liked it way more the second time around. The chips were so much better this time! I think someone had forgotten to salt them last time or something crazy like that. The drinks here are really tasty. I had a coin Margarita and it was just right. The waiter even offered my friend a little extra lime juice to add to her ice to soak up those last bits of tequila. Nice service! I had the carnitas taco, crispy, and a chicken taco, not crispy, and I really enjoyed my meal. The black bean salad was also a hit at my table as well as the fresh salsas and guac. Definitely a new fave place and a great location up on 28th and Glenwood where there’s a bit of a restaurant desert.

We came here on a Monday night for dinner and had a fantastic meal! The space is not huge but there is was no wait and the staff were all friendly and fast. We had some chips and salsa, which is house made and scrumptious, followed by burritos. We both opted to have them smothered in their green salsa and WOW, what a kick this stuff has! It was so delicious, but a little spicy — next time I may keep it on the side. I had the carne asada burrito while my hubs had the carnitas. Both were super-tasty, but I definitely made the best choice since the steak was mouthwatering! We were too full to try their chocolate strawberries for dessert, but next time I’ll save room. In fact we want to get back soon to try the Mexican corn, and the cheese crisp. You have to love a place that has so many great sounding items on the menu that you’re planning your 2nd trip before you’ve even finished your first meal — am I right? Overall, this is a great space and was the perfect spot for a quick dinner. Next time we’re in Boulder we’ll be back.

I stumbled upon this place today. For lunch if you’re looking to throw down a couple more dollars than Qdoba you will be happy with what you get. I got an unexpected side of salsa on a bed of red cabbage that was very tasty. The burrito was large and did not disappoint. The sauce for the back beans was well seasoned, the carne asada was good, the rice was seasoned and well-cooked. Everything was a step above the norm and a nice change of pace. It was a sit down Mexican meal and yet I was not offered chips and salsa. Maybe you have to pay for them. But if I’m sitting, paying extra for better food, and tipping the server I think some complimentary chips and salsa would be nice. They have a fantastic beer selection. There are not many choices but what they do have is good, local beer. The place is clean and has a modern industrial feel. I could see sitting down here one evening for some dinner and drinks for a while with friends. It’s not too fancy and the atmosphere is relaxed and Colorado-esque.
