If I had just come out of the mountains and hadn’t seen society in a month, I would still walk two extra miles to eat gas station nachos before I paid a dollar for a meal at La Tinga.

Hands down best Mexican food in town. The only downside is that they keep limited hours and, if you wanna be picky, their onions are sliced a little thick. Go for no frills goodness.

I had not been in a while and went back recently and was blown away! Had the special mole with beans and rice. Rice was light and fresh beans were delicious! And the mole tacos were sooo good! Love the salsa and chopped cilantro with onion that I pile on everything. This is a great place in Bozeman-cash only so bring your dollars!

We wanted to eat here but when we pulled up and parked there was a big sign that says CASHONLY. Like most people who are vacationing in the area we don’t carry a little alot of cash with us. I understand margins can be tight in the restaurant business, but your competition takes cards.

A long time staple of Bozeman, La Tinga provides the most authentic, simple(and take this as a good thing) Mexican meals you will find in SW Montana. The food is incredible, the service is excellent and everything is very very fresh. You won’t find over complicated TexMex here, you won’t find shredded lettuce and government cheese covering your plate, but you will find amazing and traditional Mexican flavors with ever bite. This is good stuff!

This is the place I go when I was a simple, nice Mexican dish. The beans are so flavorful — better than any refried beans I’ve ever had. The owners are nice and they really know how to add on the spice! This place is affordable and you leave full. What more can you ask for?

If there was a way to give this no stars I would. The worst customer service I have ever had in this town! It was so bad that we walked out. Extremely disappointed!

Good food, poor location and no regular opening hours. Really love the food but hate getting there on Saturdays and finding the place closed. Bummer. Could be closed for good because the phone number seems to be disconnected too so you can’t even call to see if open.

Best Mexican in Bozeman! Very authentic and delicious. They have great tacos and burritos for an even better price. I’ll take $ 2 tacos any day! Only open for lunch though, and they only accept cash. If you want great Mexican food in Bozeman, Montana, go to la tinga.

You know this is my joint. I’m here at least once a week on a lunch date with the big guy. The tinga is my favorite and usually what I order unless there is an extra awesome special. Fresh, simple, flavorful and affordable! Also, take a deep breath and try the jamaica or tamarindo drinks; both are good and completely different than anything available in a bottle.

I’ve been a customer of La Tinga(Bozeman) for years(also at their downtown location before they moved). Their food is down right delicious, the service is always delightful and the options are simple. Some menu items change weekly to mix it up which is another quality about La Tinga I enjoy. One week they’ll have a chile relleno plate(fried pepper stuffed with cheese) and the next week green chile enchiladas. I grew up in a Mexican household, have family in rural Mexico and La Tinga is what REAL mexican food looks and tastes like. Corn tortillas are made fresh daily(also used for their chips), generous portions; this is Mexican comfort food people, authentic, nothing extravagant, just simple and delicious. By far the best Mexican food you will find in Bozeman.

The owner was extremely rude. I asked if they could just put the taco ingredients on a plate rather than in a tortilla, and she told me «no, that’s not the way I run my business.» I have some allergies, and can’t eat wheat or corn, so just wanted the meat, beans and rice on a plate. I didn’t think that was a lot to ask, and was not asking for any weird substitutions or anything and was not being pushy about being allergic the way some people are in restaurants. very disappointed.

La Tinga rules, period. Both Bozeman and Billings. Great food, always fresh and with great service. Only thing to improve would be having a bunch of great beers on tap. New location is somewhat out of the way, but worth the drive. Kick-butt food from kick-butt folks.

While vacationing near Bozeman, MT for a couple of weeks I was out in downtown Bozeman and needed my Taco fix. Where do you find good Mexican Tacos in Montana??? Answer: La Tinga ! I stumbled upon this little hole in the wall while walking downtown and am glad I didn’t pass on my initial thoughts that they would not taste good. Homemade tortillas good meat equals good tacos. I have lived in Los Angeles just down the street from a hole-in-the-wall style Mexican taco stand, operated by Mexicans, and La Tinga is just as good, if not better. The food is truly amazing, and the owners are super nice and welcoming. There are always new specials and the onion/cilantro homemade serve-yourself toppings are a great touch. I miss it being on Main Street, but it is definitely worth the trip to their new location — its big, spacious, and nice — and easy parking! Love this place.

This food is sooo good! The best Mexican you can get in the valley! And the prices are not bad either! The staff is very friendly and sometimes offers free meal samplers in exchange for feedback. Try their breakfast burrito and you’ll have a favorite spot to stop before heading to the mountain. Located on the north side of Bozeman, they are off the beaten path, but close to the 100 Acre Park.

I guess my question is: WHEREISEVERYONE? This place is truly excellent foodwise. A foodie mecca. It’s all made from scratch, delicious and fresh-tasting. You won’t find any mass-produced slop here. I had chicken mole tacos yesterday that were epic. I’ve also had their perfectly-cooked tamales and thoroughly enjoyed their spongy goodness, not like those limp slimy things you get in other places. I am going back today for more. The daily specials are varied and interesting. I’m not sure why they moved from their bustling Main Street location which was always packed with people. This new location is somewhat ambience-free and in a weird location, but the food more than makes up for it. I hope they can make the business work because the food is excellent.

I ordered 2 Chicken Tacos with beans and rice on the side. Just a quick lunch, but wow it was good. I enjoy Mexican food but won’t claim to be an expert at telling you just how authentic it was or wasn’t. All I know is that they make their corn tortillas daily, and you can taste the result. The generous serving of fresh avocado on the Tacos was a great addition. The location is a bit out of the way, but it has a great view of the mountains.
