Visiting from DC, my standards are quite high for Indian food. I can say without reservation that this is the most authentic, delicious, and hearty Indian food I have had. The curry was phenomenal. The lamb shank special had been braised for six hours and was simply out of this world. Aside from the food, the owner Andleeb has created a beautiful outdoor atmosphere and a culture of incredibly friendly and knowledgable staff members. I can’t recommend Saffron Table enough. You won’t be disappointed!

Epic find! They treated us like royalty even though we had a two year old and were kind of flailing. :) Amazing food, service and atmosphere. Love this place! Sadly, we live in St. Augustine, Florida and will have to wait for our next trip to Montana to get back here.

Ate there tonight. Samosas were the best I have had. But what put the dinner over the top was the pear dessert. Lived in SF, NYC, and Portland — never expected one of the best desserts I’ve ever had would be tonight. Incredible. For something light and sweet it was perfect.

Top notch! Everything about Saffron Table was excellent… the Vindaloo chicken is beyond delicious. The staff was extremely professional & friendly, even kept the kitchen open a few minutes late to accommodate diners that had driven some distance, specifically, to eat there. Definitely deserving of it’s top billing in Bozeman!

Good! The garlic naan was amazing, a buttery garlic and perfectly cooked flatbread. I had the veg curry set and was very pleased. the menu was a bit pricey. It would have been great if we were offered more rice or curry, in true Indian style, but overall, very nice.

I came here with high hopes. But menu was pretty sparse, with limited vegetarian options. I tried to order my normal standby, palak paneer, with basmati, but was told I could only order it with an assortment of vegetarian items. In the end got an appetizer and left. Kind of weird, as I hadn’t asked for any discount or accommodation, just leave some stuff off the plate. server asked the chef and was rejected. Ok! Off to the next restaurant — weird experience… But, it was good I could not order all I wanted. This is NOT an Indian restaurant, it is a Montana fusion something, but only the food names are Indian, the food not at all. I ordered garlic naan and potato samosas. Pretty standard items in theory. I got strips of pizza flat bread, almost no leavening at all, and instead of fresh or roasted garlic, the flat bread strips had been brushed with garlic oil. The aftertaste of minced dried garlic soaked in oil sticks with me. Yuck! The potato samosa was heavily lathered in Johnny’s season salt(not an Indian spice I am familiar with), and the innards had no texture, just a mushy mash. The Johnny’s season salt is the overriding flavor of the potato samosas. Both food items I ordered were horribly disappointing. Food yes, Indian food, not even close.

One of my favorite places in Bozeman! NIce outdoor seating in summer. Always great service. And of course the food is amazing.

It had been a very long day driving from Cody, three times! And so here we are in Bozeman for the night. My wife had been jonesing for Indian, and Unilocal!found this spot. Awesome. I’m not a big Indian fan, but they have moved me closer to being an big fan. Excellent eggplant chaat, potato samosas, garlic naan, and daal to die for. A very accommodating place for Carryout, the aromas in the restaurant were intoxicating. Who knew? Here in Bozeman MT was ground zero for the best Indian food West of the Mississippi, and maybe East of too.

For the pretentious, snooty vibe, we were expecting awesome food. There wasn’t one dish we tried that was excellent. Will not eat there again. The food wasn’t terrible it just doesn’t deliver.

So amazing! I have lived in the Indian neighborhood in Chicago and gone to all the Indian restaurants where I was the only white person. My mom told me there was a good Indian restaurant in Bozeman and I totally rolled my eyes. Well, eyes unrolled. This was was the best Indian food I’ve ever had(I can’t speak to authenticity, as I’ve never been to India). But they’ve done an amazing job infusing local ingredients with Indian cuisine. Everything was wonderfully flavorful, well-cooked, and delicious. I’ve raved about this place to my friends in Chicago, New York, even India! Well worth the price.

My husband and I LOVE Indian food. We have eaten Indian food all over the country but have been hard pressed to find a place we like in Montana. I think we found that place at Saffron table. I haven’t eaten one item from the menu that I didn’t go bat sh** crazy over. If you have a chance to go in he summer, the garden area you can sit in outside is very nice. It’s a little pricier but definitely not as high as some places in town. Food has tons of flavor, staff is friendly, atmosphere is very nice.

It’s in a converted home(very homey feeling!!) directly across from a McDonalds — giving it some character. Service was great and the wine suggestion not too pricey. This Indian food through me for a loop. Ate here on NYE, forgot to write a review back then but I’m still dreaming about it… Not your average Indian/fusion food. This stuff is very carefully crafted, very gourmet, created by someone with a great palate. We tried the mushroom bao-like buns which were spicy and my favorite thing ever, a crispy eggplant dish which was also perfect(a bit spicy, a bit sweet, crunchy, salty) — I tried chicken and the beef, both were soo delicious. Next time I’m in Bozeman this is the first place on my return list.

I love being able to 5 star a restaurant. This place is the place to go if you want fine dining, awesome service, delicious beer and Indian food that could literally make you forget about being«full» and founder. Pretty sure I did. I ate so much curry(typical) I though I was going to be sick. Of course, I suffered through because I was not willing to lose $ 60 worth of food and Delirium(it’s a type of beer, not pill). Our waitress was not only adorable but prompt. Their portions were en pointe. The ambiance was peachey-keen. You are pretty close to your neighboring table which could maybe get annoying if you are seated next to loud talkers — or worse… loud eaters. We’ve been lucky in those instances. Their specialty Naan was incredible. Naan. Really. If you are seeking an eclectic place to have a fine fusion meal, this is the place.

Ambiance: Lovely little house converted into a cozy/eclectic restaurant with two fireplaces. Service: The service was top notch — very friendly and they anticipated our needs. It was a busy night and our dinner took slightly long, before we even noticed the manager had come to our table to apologize and offered us drinks… highly unexpected level of service and a true rarity in Bozeman. Food: Dinner was more upscale and fusion than we had expected(A+), we were a group of four and everything was delicious! Conclusion: We will be going back… soon!

Really tasty Indian-style fusion fare here. It’s a bit pricey, but the food is very good. Service is not the best, but adequate. The potato samosas have an authentic flavor and are heavily spiced. The skin of the samosas is different from the samosas I have had at Indian/Pakistani restaurants in the past. I’m not entirely sure how to describe it — not as bubbly and crisp as what I am used to, but tasty nonetheless. The eggplant chaat was interesting and also quite tasty. It actually looks like sushi when it is served — covered with sauces and topped with crisped rice and chickpeas. The eggplant was crisp and tasty. Goan seafood stew has a mild but flavorful broth with plenty of fish chunks, shrimp, and calamari rings. The fish is a bit bland, but the rest of the seafood has a lot of flavor. The lamb kafta was probably my favorite dish. Very heavily spiced with a deep, umami flavor. The sauce is great over rice or sopped up with some naan. As far as service — we sat for quite a while before someone came to take our order. There were people seated after us that were served before us, and it appeared that they knew the owner or manager. Interestingly, this is not the first time in Bozeman where I felt that I would have received better service if I was«somebody»(cough, cough, Open Range, cough, cough). Aside from that, the service was adequate. Glasses were filled regularly, plates taken away promptly, etc.

Being Indian, we did not expect to find great Indian food in a small town in Montana, but this place was a very pleasant surprise! We ordered the eggplant chaat and veggie Kati roll to begin — the eggplant chaat was a creative twist on traditional chaat, but the flavor was absolutely spot on! For our main course, we had Goan fish stew, vegetarian thali and the truffle naan. The fish curry tasted authentic. The palak paneer and the dal in the thali were awesome. The chole and baingan bharta could have been better. The ambience, service and food presentation were delightful! The restaurant has a very cozy feel and would be a great place to take a date :)

This is without a doubt, top 3 best restaurants in Bozeman. Everything from the service to the food is absolute top notch. For those that like something unique and flavorful, Saffron Table always delivers. I have tried most everything on the menu(I was serious when I said I was a big fan) and I have never been disappointed with a single dish. The hardest part is trying to decide what to order! The idea of bringing in an Americana spin on Indian, as well as some beautiful Asian Fusion dishes is a wonderful combination for a menu. I’m a huge Indian fan and the dishes are authentic and burst with flavor. I would highly encourage trying any special when they have it, as well as the seafood dishes– always a treat. This is a wonderful spot and one that I hope will live on for a very long time. Don’t change a thing! This place is perfect!

Wow. In Bozeman??? No offense to anyone in Bozeman but wow — this place was crazy-sick amazing! There’s a few other very solid reviews of this place on here however, I had to throw in my two cents. Did y’all know that the chef came from the French Laundry? For those who aren’t quite as epicurean as others, let’s just say that was/is one of the more infamous chow houses in the Bay Area. We passed along our excitement for how delicious the food was to the very nice(and Cute) hostess only to see a few minutes later, the chef himself coming out to our table to thank us for us comments. Nice, very nice. Like others who’ve reviewed this place… I’ve definitely eaten my far share of Indian cuisine. I decided to think about how much and here’s what I came up with. 4 different countries, 12 different states and I believe, if my math is correct, about 51 different cities. And guess what? This was probably one of the best Indian meals and experience I’ve ever had. I know — that’s a pretty bodacious statement… well, I’m sticking to it. Everything from the eggplant Chaat to the mixed meat dish to the chicken curry and this other rice dish(forgive me I forgot the name but I’ve never tasted anything like it — and I’ve eaten a lot of crazy delicious food too) was all simply amazing. Just go — it’s really not that pricey and if you think it is, you’ll get over it once you dig in. Wow… Just go.

This is a great place for those who enjoy food from India Pakistan belt. As many other reviews state, we ordered an Eggplant Chat and it is rightly credited by other reviewers. This is the best Eggplant dish I have had in my life and I come from that place of India where people locally call us eggplants. The other dish we had was Moong dal and garlic naan. This too is great and the naan just melts in your mouth. My wife had Masala Chai and she is the one who hardly likes tea made by anyone else other than herself. She said it was perfect. We also ordered«Mango Strawberry sorbet» and enjoyed Mango part of it. Strawberry was okay… The serving staff was very affable. The only reason I ducked a star is because of pricing. But like joker said…“if you are good at something never do it for free”. All I am saying is keep it reasonable. Loved this restaurant.

I had high hopes for this place. The menu looked excellent and had so much promise. My server was great and the only reason I give it two stars vs 1. The food could have been so great but was so incredibly salty that it was almost inedible. Had I not eaten all day due to a busy schedule I probably would have not been able to eat as much as I did. I had the eggplant chaat and the fish special which was Alaskan halibut as well as some garlic naan and raita. The natural flavors and Indian spices could have been so good on their own but were overpowered by so many salty seasonings.
