Is there a rating less than 1?!? The restaurant was empty(guess everyone else knew more than we knew) and the service was way too fast. Literally, 2 minutes after we ordered, the entrée was on the table. I was so grossed out when I bit into my Chicken Hibachi. It was so obvious that it had been cooked earlier and reheated, which explains why it came out of the kitchen so fast. I told the chef it tastes like rubber, so he took it into the kitchen and gave me a plate of hot chicken which was more well done and tasted just as disgusting. I think he re-cooked my first plate. I did not eat it. I was there with a friend who I haven’t seen in a year. We were there to enjoy a meal and catch up on each other’s lives. While we talked, two waitresses were clearing soup and salad dishes before we were done, never offered to refill my cup of water, dropped the check without offering us dessert, then gave us a plastic bag for our half-drunken bottle of wine. I mean, they were practically pushing us out the door. I’ve been a waitress and that’s just a NONO!!!

After having dinner here tonight I am a little shocked with the amount of rave reviews. The positives: The service was very fast and our waitress was nice. I ordered shrimp and scallop hibachi and it was NOT good. It came with a salad, there was so much dressing and it was really watery so it was more like a broth with lettuce in it! The seafood did not taste fresh and my scallops were so chewy. I also dislike when they leave the tails on the shrimp(especially if they don’t provide you with a utensil to cut them off!) my fried rice was hard and had a little bit of a burnt taste. The only thing I really enjoyed was my miso soup and the BBQ chicken appetizer that my fiancé ordered. He also ordered a Bradley beach roll which he said was alright but he agreed we probably wouldn’t go back.

We walked in on a Thursday night at around 6 p.m. and the place was completely empty. We asked if we could have Hibatchi and were told that Hibatchi required 4 people and a reservation(remember, the restaurant is empty…). They offered to provide items from the Hibatchi menu, but we had to sit at a regular table. We agreed and ordered the steak and chicken combination. I asked for rare steak, and my husband asked for medium rare, but both the chicken and steak on both plates was dry and way over-cooked. Interestingly enough, no other customers entered the restaurant throughout our entire meal. The wait service were pleasant and efficient, but the food was over-cooked. We won’t be going back.

Service was tough. I like my fish a little colder. Would of ordered the special on board but did not know about it

Love this place. Best sushi around. The service could be better sometimes, but the food is always good!

The only reason for the 3 stars is because the waitress(owner) and the teen boys appeared to be really trying and were very nice. They could have been having a bad night due to a rush and I am certain that they usually do a better job, but here is our experience and perhaps the owners can work on improving some of the things we did ‘not’ love about the place. Highlights; Small husband and wife team restaurant, with 2 teen boy waiters — seats about 10. Last night was extremely loud with a large table in the back, headed by a generating 99% of the noise. If it weren’t for the overly loud botox’d up attention seeking elder blonde with the ‘wicked with of the west’ laugh, the noise would have been tolerable. This is a BYO and of course, everyone around us brought multiples of their BYO’s. Highlights; a. extremely excessive salt across the board b. food served without utensils or napkins c. «cooked» salmon partially raw d. mystery bowl of rice served at end of meal e. get your own side plates from suishi bar after receiving appetizer f. get your own side plates from suishi bar after receiving 2nd run of appetizers g. hibachi chicken very dry h. hibachi steak cut into large strips with no steak knives available I. steak cut into strips which included all fat and grizzle along with meat(similar to what one might serve to their dog) Anyway, there was more but I will end here. Not sure about the glowing reviews and again, perhaps it was a bad night. We will not go back but that doesn’t mean you should not. .

Best kept secret. The place is never busy and I never understood how. The sushi is awesome! The all you can eat deal is beyond worth it. Their shrimp tempura roll and Kani salad is soooo good!!! Love this place. Very nice workers too! And BYOB.

Recently relocating to Bradley Beach in May, this is by far the best sushi restaurant in the surrounding area. I’m surprised they aren’t busy all the time ! The fish is so fresh. My favorite is the sister roll. I also like that they have non sushi options so that folks with different tastes can enjoy the experience. Can’t say enough good things!

We came here on a Thursday evening for the $ 21.95 «All You Can Eat Sushi» special. We placed our order for some rolls, not even enough to add up to $ 21.95 each, figuring we could get more if we wanted to. When my husband went to order another Maki, the waitress and sushi chef refused because he had not eaten the rice that came with his sushi. Since there is an extra charge for sashimi, you will be penalized if you«make your own». So be sure to order more than enough the first time in case you don’t clean your plate!

I love Osaka! My boyfriend and I go at least every other week, especially during the off season when there is the all you can eat sushi menu Tues-Thurs — that’s when we go every week! We love the Sushi Chef, who makes all the dishes beautiful, and the Hostess who is so sweet. We have always had fresh fish there and I think they give decent sized rolls, not like some other places that skimp out. I love the fish mural on the wall and the fact that is it small and inviting. Definitely go there if you are in the area!

We were excited to try this place, since we just moved here and had not found a Japanese restaurant to call our own. Needless to say. We waited 1 hour for our sushi appetizer, I had an Avocado boat which was fake sea legs not crabmeat. Then 2 hours for our entrée. The place was packed and only had one guy making sushi. We couldn’t get our waitress attention since she seemed to waiting on the entire restaurant and outside. When we got our entrée the salad lettuce was wilted and browning, the tomato not ripe. Yuck! My husband and I ordered Chicken Teriyaki and it was like shoe leather. Just a poor experience. I was very disappointed. The people next to us said they were regulars and were glad more people were recognizing this place but not at the expense of poor service and poor food quality.

Great food! Flavorful steak teriyaki! Get it medium rare for more flavor. I even love the rice! They use sushi rice garnished w/some black seed looking things. OMG so good! Look out for discount coupons in the summer! You can get them with your check when you go there! It will help save you money! Located across from Bradley Beach Train Station. Check out the Perfect Perk for some italian pastries and cakes for dessert, right next door!

I don’t understand, I live on the beach, why can’t I find an above average sushi place?! This is the question that plagues my mind as I try sushi place after sushi place, and Osaka was no exception. The prices are pretty good for the neighborhood and the service was nice, but they’re missing something, I just can’t put my finger on it. I walked in on a Friday afternoon and was the only patron there, that was weird. Then I noticed after I placed my order everyone was hovered around the sushi chef who was preparing my order. Now, I usually stick to simple sushi and uncomplicated rolls because well, I actually enjoy the taste of the fish and find keeping it simple maximizes on this so I didn’t understand what all the hullabaloo was about. Finally, my food arrived, seaweed salad, spicy tuna roll no rice and on of their«signature» rolls. All I can say is meh. The only thing that tasted like it was supposed to was the seaweed salad. Maybe some day I’ll find my sushi unicorn.
