This restaurant wouldn’t last one day in any Texas town! Calling this Tex-Mex is an insult to the state of Texas! An even bigger insult two Mexicans everywhere! I’ve had better tacos out of a shack in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania… Maybe the Italian owner should stick with what he knows, because it’s obviously not Mexican food! Don’t waste your money or time!!!

Brandon’s last vestige of the earlier Tex-Mex phase is a spot on 3 stars. Good quasi Mexican dishes in an uninspiring environment that may have some nostalgic value(or just decent price points) for those interested. We stopped here due to its proximity to the movie theater(and everything in Brandon for that matter). The restaurant interior is reminiscent of a former Don Pablo, Tia’s etc. The menu is broad with most entrees in the $ 8-$ 14 range($ 5 lunch specials were advertised on each table). Nearly all patrons were families with small kids. We had the Cobb salad and Taco salad, both were quite large and average in quality. The drink menu was standard, focused mostly on the margarita choices. The«authentic margarita» with 1800 reposada($ 8) was a good drink for the price.

Andrew– Thanks for sharing your pork chimichanga favorite, it was delicious and paired well with the churra beans and corn cake. Great meal and of course, great service by Andrew

Normally one of our favorite places, tonight there seemed to be no manager on duty. The waitresses were yelling across the dining room, yelling in the kitchen, swinging around the support poles. Our server was a young man and seemed to be the only one working instead of playing. My husband ordered the fajitas and there were no peppers, only wilted onions. Chicken was dry and over cooked. No quality control tonight.

I went to Tres Amigos cantina on my visit to Brandon this past weekend we were originally going to eat at Cali viejo but it was getting late and we happen to see Tres amigos while driving. Where do I start. I have to say the service was great! Our waitress was very attentive. Well the chips n are salsa are just great! I am a spicy type of person but the chip salsa they had is tasty for everyone! I ordered the sizzling steak fajitas; I think the order can be split between two if you’re not too hungry and order tortillas on the side because three tortilla for one wasn’t enough! I usually don’t have big meals for dinner for that night I ate everything, I was pretty stuffed until the next morning and we had dinner around 9PM that night. Glad we spotted this place, can never go wrong with Mexican food! Oh and I had their mango mojito it was pretty light, perhaps a margarita would’ve been a better option.

Had the Spinach enchiladas. Very good. The margaritas were fairly good. To much ice made them wster doen really fast. Server was nice and did a good job. Plsce was busy so that could of been the issue.

My husband brought home two orders of chips and guac for a party I am going to tonight. This is the quantity of chips that you get when you order TWO orders of chips. Not ok.

I gave this place a shot last week for the first time. The service was was good however, the food is another story. Although the portions were good the taste had a lot to be desired. It’s said that I belive that the national fast food chain has a better flavor and presentation. It was my first and last visit

It wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t great. The hostess seemed bothered to have to seat us. The waitress, wasn’t totally unpleasant but we had to ask for everything. We actually grabbed the silverware bundles off of an adjacent empty table because we hadn’t seen her in a while. As for the food, it was extremely bland. The salsa was less than mild, no spice whatsoever. We had the steak fajitas and was disappointed with that as well. The beef wasn’t seasoned at all and just tasted plain. The rice was also very bland and tasteless. I think the only thing that was seasoned was the refried beans and that’s only because they were overly salty. After dinner we sat with all of our dirty plates in front of us hoping to see our waitress so we could get our check and go. I think we waited for a good 10 mins or so. I usually always take home fajita leftovers; but not this time. I would not return here again. But if you don’t like your Mexican food spicy you may like it.

Holy cow. If you like Mexican food this is not the place for you. Beans taste canned jalapeños taste canned fajitas taste like they were frozen. I see they make the tortillas there so at least something had to be fresh. Is the queso ricos nacho cheese? It’s gritty and taste like not actual cheese. Honestly I’ve never had food this bad. Service was great though and the atmosphere is well put together. I don’t think it’s anyone’s fault in particular just really really bad food

We finally decided to try out Tres Amigos with my mother in law since we drive by almost every time we are in Brandon. The server was very friendly but it seemed that the bar was a little backed up since it took about 15mins to get some margaritas and beer for our table. But the server made sure to let us it was still coming. The nachos were interesting as they are made in one layer on huge nachos and fully loaded. They even offer each individual their own salsa bowl. The food was good but also took a while to get it. The ambiance it very unique and fun.

I recently came back to Unilocal and noticed my previous review. Have to say: the warehouse atmosphere has grown on me. We’ve been back a number of times and the food never disappoints! This is, so far, our favorite place for Mexican cuisine in the area. It rivals the food from Las Señorita in Michigan. Whenever we have friends in town, this is our first and only recommendation for Mexican food. Their salsa and chips are simply amazing!!!

Worse. Service. Ever. Not only was the service poor, the food was equally disappointing. We are first and last time diners. It took 15 mins for someone to give us menus. Then another 15 mins to get our drink orders. Then another 15 mins to get our food order. Then 20 mins for our food to come. Then 15 mins for dessert to arrive because we were trying to justify why we came here. Then 15 more mins waiting for the check. Drinks were never refilled. Not once. Food was dry, poorly seasoned, and just not good. We would’ve been better off getting Chili’s next door. We had chicken & steak fajitas, spinach poblano enchiladas, queso dip, and vanilla flan. Nothing, and I mean nothing, was good. I have not been this disappointed in a long time. My stomach also hurts right now.

The service is usually decent. I come here regularly because my daughter loves the lights. The chips are stale 90% of the time. The salsa tastes like it comes from a jar. Order the hot salsa for a fresh options(though it doesn’t have a good flavor) The prices are high for what you get. Food quality is sub-par. The bar is decent. Maybe this is a good drinking hole, I suggest against family dinning. I’ve had dinner here 20+ times and this would be the same review every time.

3 stars for good drinks and always being accommodating for large groups. Tres-Amigos is Tex-Mex, which is sort of Americanized, nacho cheesy, Mexican food. While there are better places for Mexican food in Tampa, many of those places are small or far away. Tres Amigos has a great location in the heart of Brandon which seems to always be the middle ground for meeting friends. None of the food here has ever impressed me, but nothing was really bad either. Over all, its a good place to meet friends for appetizers, margaritas and cerveza!

I decided to give Tres Amigos another try, after about a year break. My first experience wasn’t very pleasant, but with goes that they’ve turned things around, here I am. I started with the Chicken Fajita Nachos, and had the grilled shrimp tacos as my entrée. The nachos were okay. The chicken was cooked inconsistently, some were dry, some good; like they mixed old with new. The shrimp tacos were unremarkable. Shrimp were small and flavorless, and the tacos in general were bland. It’s not something I would order again. The tacos came with two sides, Mexican rice and a choice. I chose the corn cake, and it was my favorite part of the meal. It was very moist, and very delicious! The mexican rice was dry, almost old tasting. On a positive note, they offer military discounts. There’s a whopping 25% for active duty, and even a 10% discount for veterans such as myself. The building is huge, with extremely high ceilings. The décor is that as expected by a Mexican restaurant, with state flags hanging from the ceiling. My server was stellar during this visit! The dining area was clean, and had a comfortable feel to it. The menu is tex mex all the way, with fair pricing. Overall, this visit was much better than the last. It seems they have some problems with consistency, but I may try it again to see if they can bump up that star rating.

Well I just wanna say UNORGANIZEDTOTHETENTHPOWER. The way that they operate was absolutely outrageous. CINCODEMAYO was the first time that I even looked into going 5o this place and it will the last day. They didn’t have outdoor seating where you can order food. The lines were so long and they couldn’t tell you a wait time. The young ladies on the bull horn yelling your name was so muffled and loud, you could not understand anything she was saying. Needless to say, we never ate inside the restaurant. The vendors outside serving drinks and tacos were so in an uproar as if they were tired. I don’t think that I even wanna try the food after dealing with the young people that worked there.

On my never ending hunt to find a legit Mexican restaurant in Florida, I stopped for dinner here(suggested by my friend). Great atmosphere, but slow service and gross food. My favorite me Mexican restaurant is in Richmond, Virginia. Nothing compares to the fast and steaming authentic Mexican food. This place can’t even compare to my favorite spot in the heart of Virginia. This place is more of Tex Mex than Real Mexican. They use shredded cheese. The strawberry piña colada looked more like a child’s milkshake and started separate. The queso had a film over it like it been microwaved. My friend said the salsa tasted like crayons. I didn’t think so but it still wasn’t good.
