My wife and I chose to have the rehearsal dinner for our wedding here recently and had the unfortunate experience dealing with the«sales manager» or «AT». Of course if you enjoy dealing with pretentious managers who don’t call you back that you actually have to chase throughout the process then he’s perfect for your event.(I literally had to call numerous times as he struggles with the whole«calling back» concept). Our guests arrived at Daddy O a few minutes late to find nothing ready for us other than upside down seats outside and yellow construction tape… almost as if the staff had no clue we were coming, which is funny because they were quick to take a deposit about 2 or 3 months prior. We had to usher all guests inside and frantically scramble to set up our dinner inside. Once inside we had the pleasure of having 1 bartender for 50+ people and horrendous music piped through the speakers for most of the cocktail hour. Our frustration was expressed to «AT» ASAP who smugly smirked and did nothing about it. Not only did he not do anything about it but he disappeared for the rest of the night and did not come check on the party once. This venue was way overpriced, unprepared, and a borderline disaster for my event. I would NEVER recommend Daddy O to anyone for anything and if «AT» is involved good luck; you will need it. On a positive note, the rest of the wait staff was helpful and seemed to genuinely care that our night wasnt what it should have been. They helped pull things together(with no help from Andrew) which was appreciated.

BEWARE! Twice the wait staff tried up sell and up charge our group. Our waiter claimed the wine we wanted was not available then tried to serve us a bottle that was $ 15 more expensive. The same situation happened at the bar, the bartender charged us $ 3 more per glass because they were out of the house wine. Beware, we really felt targeted and over charged for being out of towers. The food is very good so enjoy your meal but be a savvy customer.

Food was good but pricey. They put Too many garnishes to dress up the plate to make it look like a lot of food is on your plate. Not a fan

Daddy Oh Noooo! Let me start with a positive.. the server was very nice and attentive. Unfortunately they advertise having a wide variety of craft beers on their menu. Well they didn’t lie, they had options on menu but not in stock. We took three tries before getting an IPA that was available. I am a burger connoisseur and this was the worst showing yet! There is only one burger on the menu so I expected it to be amazing — not even close. They tried to be fancy, but ended up with an overpriced burger half the size of the bun with too much garnish. Silver lining is that the fries were yummy: o) Our tab was 45 $ for two beers and one burger(we split one) and then an additional 35 $ for the beer and pizza we had up the street at Buckalew’s(it was is delic!). There are many options on LBI but I would take a pass on this one and try Tuckers, Black Whale, or fav go to of Buckalew’s.

I went here twice in one week, once for the rooftop and the other for dinner outside on their patio. The rooftop is cool, we sat in the lounge area chairs for a while chatting and enjoying HH. While its on the roof… there really is no view of much so dont expect one. They only have 2 of their cocktails disputed and no food specials. We still decided to try a sushi roll and it was pretty awesome, can’t remember the name but hey I’ll add a pic for reference. The Marilyn Monroe is one of the HH drinks and it was ok… lots of juice that’s for sure! Go with wine instead. The bartenders and servers on the rooftop were awesome, really cheery and attentive. Now for dinner. The server was awful. He took drink orders and didn’t return for about 15 minutes… we saw him around but never even came by to say hey the bar is backed up or here’s sme water while you wait for your drinks… then we didn’t get the proper silverware like a spoon for soup and a steak knife for steak. The stuffed chicken breast was really good as were the pork sliders but the portion size of the entrees were on the smaller side. The strip steak was good but not worth the price either. All in all, I’d go back here if it were for another gathering as this past visit was… otherwise I’d probably not be in a rush to venture back.

Went to Daddy Os for a bachelorette party and couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The service was spectacular and they went above and beyond to ensure our bride to be gad a special, memorable evening!!!

Good ambience. Can only speak for the restaurant not the rooftop. The wine selection was pitiful, mixed drinks were eh, the service alright and the food was ok at best. Tries to give off an upscale, sophisticated vibe but the cuisine is lacking. Our server had no personality whatsoever.

My wife and I have eaten at Daddy O every year since they opened. The atmosphere is fun and offers a pleasantly sophisticated dining experience(at least for LBI). That said, even though our server was fabulous the food and drink had dropped a notch this year. We ordered the summer spinach salad followed by the tuna tartare and then the ribeye — all of it shared. They kindly split the salad for us and it was fabulous. The watermelon, mint, orange, and cheese contrasted and combined with the spinach to create a magical mix of flavorful and texture. To make up for all that wonderfulness the tuna tartare arrived at the same time as the salad — and was quite inedibly ‘off’. The duckfat fries and verde that came with the ribeye were spectacular but the steak itself was just OK. Lastly, we shared a luscious jarred dessert — creamy and not too sweet. Sadly, the same could not be said for the drinks. Of the ten ‘craft cocktails’ on the menu we immediately dismissed seven of them as overly sweet. So we went for two — the Low Ryeder and Old Negroni — that looked promising. Unfortunately, we hadn’t realized that bartender had found a brand of sweet bitters — Meletti. The manager comp’d us one of them — which was nice. And the black margaritas«very light on the simple syrup» we ordered later were delicious. But the craft cocktail menu at pretty much any bar or restaurant in Manhattan offers at least a small selection of drinks focused on savory, bitter, and/or spicy. Daddy O should make space for 2 or 3 of them on their drink menu. In short, we love the atmosphere and the service. And that you can make a no-hassle reservation on Opentable. And the dishes that rely on interesting combinations of flavors and spices can be extraordinary. But they need to improve the quality of the proteins and offer more ‘adult’ drinks.

I came to this restaurant on a Friday night and my experience is solely based on the rooftop bar /lounge area. I came around 8pm to meet some friends, and although the place was filled there were plenty of places to sit down and chat. The rooftop bar did not get packed until 9pm! The staff at the roof top bar was nice and attentive and provided excellent service when it came to making our drinks. Another thing I noticed was that the view was«ok,» I was expecting something along the lines of Asbury’s beer garden view, but this was just«ok,» neither amazing nor unsatisfactory. As far as pricing goes, the drinks tend to be a little pricy but hey, we’re in LBI right? From all the roof top bars and lounges I have been too such as the ones in NYC overlooking the skyline and ones in Asbury, this ranks the lowest in views. In conclusion, the roof top bartenders were friendly and great, and so was the service. The cons would be pricing and the lack of a view. Would I come back here again? Maybe if we had another gathering!

Ate here on a Friday night. Had drinks first at the rooftop bar. Went early enough to catch the happy hour. Went down to the restaurant and I ordered the Seared Tuna with black rice. So delicious although slightly salty. Waiter was good. If you plan to go after 7pm, be sure to make a reservation. Definitely a late night dinner spot for adults.

Excellent food with even better service! The restaurant itself is beautiful, lots of wood, great lighting and the tables are spaced apart from one another so you don’t need a shoehorn to get in there. Get the stuffed chicken breast, it’s fantastic. Ganna is without a doubt one of the best, most professional yet personable servers we’ve had in ages, so ask for her! :)

What a disappointment! Clearly, a goodly amount of money and some significant design effort went into trying to bring a whole different vibe to LBI. Think Easthampton, without — at least at first blush — the immediate attitude of the East End. But that’s only until the hostess tries to sit you at the worst table in the dining room even if there are a half-dozen nicer ones empty, and certainly before you are subjected to the surliness of a waiter so pleased with himself about working in a new trendy place as to forget that some attention, however minimal, should be paid to his patrons. And make sure you don’t suggest to him that he might do so – because you’ll undoubtedly get the same snarky response I did. Oh … the food was actually excellent, even creative, but the portions were miniscule and the prices astounding. How does an ocean-area restaurant have the gall to charge $ 34 for three average-size scallops? There are alot of nice pubs on LBI with hearty, tasty pub food; I’d choose any of them before returning here.

Excuse me but did the Hampton Jitney lose its way? This restaurant comes across like a desperate wannabe from the excuse for a rooftop bar to dolls’ house sized entrees. Each stop along the way to dinner was somewhat reminiscent of interactive theater but with a non-cohesive script. The reception desk staff was friendly and efficient, prepared to honor our reservation right on time. We elected to try the roof bar where the show began! After being conspicuously ignored by the wait staff and tiring of watching other patrons ordering take out from other restaurants, the BF and I returned to the bar on the main floor. The bartenders there were so friendly and engaging that we were certain they were not employed by the same restaurant. And that was the highlight of the evening. The first table we were offered should be reserved for a potted plant and a bowl of mints. At the entrance to the dining room, it is a guarantee for traffic, bumping and noise. Once escorted to a real table, we were hopeful that things would improve. One can dream. We ordered a number of appetizers and small plates which were served by a waiter trained somewhere in the Twilight Zone. He was totally confused and very disorganized. Our meal was satisfactory but not memorable. This establishment is trying almost too hard to be «THE» place rather than being a great beach place. We would return to the main bar for cocktails but would recommend dining elsewhere.

This place never disappoints! Second time eating dinner here and the menu is just excellent, from the drinks to the starters to the meals, the creations are excellent and the service is excellent. One thing which is a weird request, service is almost too fast. No sooner did we put our order in, the food was served. It almost was like a diner in that way which I did not expect. But still a great place to grab a nice meal that is not pizza or burgers. The place is so good it almost does not belong along this boulevard of fast food!

Yesterday, I checked into Daddy O with my two daughters & service dog, The Queen. Immediately, from the point of checkin I was thrilled we chose to stay here! I found the hotel staff and our room to be FIRSTCLASS and could not fault the staff in anyway. The reception desk staff was aways pleasant and only too willing to help! Not only was the hotel staff truly helpful, but they went above and beyond what was necessary. * Check-in desk person was more than willing to advise us on activities to do & we even decided to upgrade our room because of her suggestions!(She was completely correct!) * While at the beach, my daughter had the beginnings of a migraine and we walked back to the hotel. Not only did a member of the restaurant staff notice it in her eyes, but after he asked if she was okay he went and got her an ice cold glass of water with lemon without us even asking! * Last evening, with my daughters became ill while I was out at dinner. I called the hotel to just knock to check on them. Not only did they do so, they also came back to their room with ginger ale, crackers, bread and lemon water. It settled their stomachs and felt better immediately!(On that subject… stay away from The Surf City Hotel Restaurant). * This morning we had a fairly severe thunderstorm that knocked out the television. The staff from the front desk immediately dropped what they were doing and came up and fixed our television service! I would like to thank Daddy O again for our wonderful stay with you & will certainly recommend your hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in LBI! We look forward to staying with you again soon! Thanking You, Patricia Burns Rose Samantha & ‘The Queen’ our dog.

The owners of Daddy O’s took a very old hotel and restaurant and really modernized it. Poor old Weeda’s really needed the update. We had been there before and it was really not in good shape. I hadn’t been to Daddy O’s yet, but I was there for lunch this week. It was great! The whole place has been renovated and it is so clean. I had the grilled chicken sandwich. It was made perfectly, the food came out quickly, and the service was prompt. I’m sure I’ll be back.

Daddy O’s is a family favorite and the food is fantastic; however, today the service was off. The courses were too fast paced(close together) and I didn’t have time to finish my previous dish. For that I would give the service a 3 out of 5. Otherwise, the food is fantastic and the waiter was very attentive and knowledgable about the menu. I would highly recommend this to anyone in the area.(It is an expensive place)

Went to this restaurant for dinner. There were six bachelorette parties including mine. The restaurant was nice, it had a NY feel to it. The bad part was the food. The food was soooo salty that we had to send some food back and pricey for what the food was. The staff was friendly. Conclusion: go there for drinks and atmosphere not the food.

I hate having to write this review. First off it’s solely for the hotel! We booked to stay here for 4 nights over Labor Day weekend. En route to LBI my husband for a call from his family to say his grandad had taken gravely ill. We informed the hotel upon arrival that we may have to cut the visit short and if we could move the reservation to another date if that was the case. Sure we were told! Unfortunately his grandad died the next day and my husband had to fly home to London. Ever since I have mailed the hotel 4 times and called twice to no avail. Not one reply and no one is willing to help. We pay $ 400+ a night and cannot get another date reserved. So unprofessional and frustrating. We thought we’d found the hotel we’d spend most summer weekends in but it looks like I was wrong.
