Shakey’s Pizza

If I can rate at minus 5 stars rating, I would give it to this shakeys location. We got there at 925pm, the open sign was on and the online hours says open till 1030. They have the doors locked and they look like they were cleaning up and ready to go home. We drove 35 minutes to satisfy a shakeys mojo and wings craving to be dissapointed that the place closed when it should have been open. Looking at the ratings on Google and Unilocal.I had a personal experience myself. They don’t deserve even a one star!

ummm. Hello? Mojo potatoes?! Our staff comes here all the time for the lunch buffet. The value is great and honestly just the Mojo potatoes make it worth it. But when you can get a little bit of salad… a little bit of pizza… a little bit of fried or grilled chicken and a drink for about 10 bucks… how can you go wrong?!
They have a series of sauce bottles and they are delicious. There is a tangy type barbecue sauce that I always have to have with my Mojo potatoes. I do wish that sometimes these bottles were labeled a little more clearly but the mojo potatoes make up for it… If you’ve lost your mojo and you need a boost… Don’t forget to stop by Shakeys!

We’ve been coming here for a while for the cheap lunch buffet. The pizza is usually ok; the salad bar is weak. My friend’s like their mojos and friend chicken but it’s not my thing.
The past few times we’ve been here there was a real lack of pizza. We found ourselves waiting for the pizza to come out and they were all pepperoni. And the water kind of tastes like garbage.

The customer service here is very poor. I tried to call in an order for me and my coworkers and I was put on hold which was fine but they forgot about me. I ended up having to call them again. When I went to pick up my order there were no workers in sight. I stood at the counter for 5 minutes waiting for someone to help me. Finally the manager comes over and asked if someone is helping me so I tell him no. He ended up helping me and was very nice. This was my first time here and will probably be my last.

Place was clean and our food came fast! We are not from the area so was t sure what to expect. The chicken and mojo’s were crispy and pizza was sooo good! The manager was very nice and friendly and made us feel welcomed.

Our first time here, and the staff was VERY accommodating! Great service. We will definitely be back!

Great Customer a service By Mr. MOHAMMAD. I walked In a few minutes before 2 for a lunch buffet, but he was kind and generous and made a fresh vegetarian pizza anyway. I will remember this, and bring my family here.

Not sure what’s going on here, But this place is dirty. They might be low in staff but still no excuse. Every table has a mess on it and there’s no customer in them. It feels sticky and dirty. Won’t come back here ever.

Great local family spot for pizza, mojo, chicken and games. 4 big screens with sports on! Cold beer! Not the best pizza, a step up from chuck e cheese but great fried chicken!

It’s a Shakey’s Pizza joint. What do you expect? The pizza tastes the same as I remember when I was a kid, and you gotta love those mojo potatoes. The restaurant is clean, and the staff is friendly enough. No reasons IMHO to deduct any starts here.

I was a frequent customer of the Shakeys in Baldwin Park because they were one of the few Shakeys locations that still offered the original mojo potatoes. Sadly, that location permanently closed earlier this year & I thought that was it, no more delicious, fresh mojos for me. But luckily I discovered that this location is one of the few left that still makes original mojos! I was ecstatic! Their pizza & fried chicken are also superb. They were very prompt & courteous over the phone while placing my order & they had it ready for pick up right on time. I’ll definitely be back!

I normally don’t ever post anything and I normally go straight to the manager at the time of a complaint or compliment. This place would be a lot better if the works understood and listened to what you say. If they actually cleaned the light fixtures, seats and window seals of all the dust and food splatters. Also they need to learn how to turn on the AC on a very hot day and to turn down the temperature of the alcohol beverages (beer was warm along with the mugs). I did try talking to the manager but he was no help, the only person who actually understood and was the most helpful was Amabelle.

This place is just miserable.
Tried going to the one in Anaheim on a Sunday afternoon but the wait was over an hour! Called this one and was told there was no wait! Sweet, right? Not so much, and we soon found out why there was no wait…
When we arrived we had missed the Bunch o’ Lunch or whatever the pizza buffet is called. So we walk in and there is one family waiting for their food and another large family finishing up their food. Otherwise the place was dead empty. So we all get in line, staring at the sad little salad station. As we wait to order and pay, the large family leaves. They must have had a bday party there because they left cupcake wrappers on their table.
The food is not great. The pizza is just sad. A mama celeste tastes 10x better! The mojo potatoes were passable. The garlic bread was terrible. I didnt have the chicken but my pala did and they said it was okay but not amazing.
My big issue is that we were there for a good hour and fifteen minutes. Not once did anybody come out to clean the tables. That bday family who left as we walked in left a mess on long area of table and that mess went UNTOUCHED the whole time we were there.
The ladies restroom needs some major TLC. Trash all over and pieces of chicken (?) on the sink counter.
This place was so bad that I forgot that I was in Brea.

It’s not that bad. For people complaining about the Bunch of Lunch– what exactly do you expect for less than $ 10? When we were there they were CONSTANTLY bringing out new food. The owner I believe even asked my kids what their favorite pizza was and sure enough it was put out in less than ten minutes. Mojos always hit the spot. Salad ingredients were fresh. I’m glad I didn’t listen to the reviews here. It’s NOT that bad. I went shortly after noon on a Friday and there were maybe just 20 people in there.

Place is horrible pizza tasted like cardboard the potatos were hard and the huge overweight guy sleeping in da corner snoring didnt help. Never again!

The food was average and the chicken was a little greasy but it is Shakeys lol mojo potatoes were great.
I was here for the buffet. Its undet $ 10 with a soft drink. doesn’t get any better than that. Stay away from the mac and cheese. Its very bland.

First off, it’s a Shakey’s Pizza place… we all know what that is, pretty much. Food’s the same at all locations and has been since the beginning of time. I do love the mojos and the pizza is alright. My review is basically for this LOCATION and not for specifically the food.
It’s small, which isn’t too bad. It looks like it’s going to be a big place until you get inside. There’s enough room for local sports teams to meet and waiting in line (which is typically slow here) has plenty of room so you aren’t squeezing around people and running kids to place your order. The staff is always friendly, just not in any hurry.
I don’t have kids, but I’ve been there with friends kids. The thing I like least about this place is that you can’t see the area where the kids are playing video games and the like. It’s in a separate room right next to the entrance/​exit. That makes me a little nervous to think about. Just keep an eye on the kids, folks.
Nice large parking lot right off of Brea Blvd, plenty of spots.
I was also surprised at the price of 2 large pizzas, mojos/​chicken side and one pitcher of beer… $ 120. Does that seem high? Does to me, but I don’t buy for a crowd much.
So, it’s a-​okay but if I were choosing a pizza place I’d probably go somewhere else. Not a bad choice just not anything really special. Although there are mojos here…

This place blows! Went for the «Bunch of Lunch» and all there was were a «Bunch of Disappointed Customers» The line was long to pay and the the cashier was a old guy that really could not handle all the work. The buffet station was 70 percent empty. I only paid because I thought more food was coming out cause it was still very early in lunch time. Well pizza trickled out the back I never saw any chicken and when something did come out everyone turned into vultures. Two fat ladies started going at it about who was in line first to complain and get money back. NEVER come here again! What food I got tasted blah.

30 mins wait when promised only 15, no explanation, saw 4 pizzas come out before mine. Still waiting. They need more people to work here, Pretty sad when can’t meet expectations that they set.

Came here for late friday night dinner with the fam. In a quick: pizza sucked it was tasteless card board crust. Fried chicken was dry & burned. Mojos were blah not great but not as crappy as the rest of the food.
The reason for my review: so its friday night like 8 pm we waited for ever for our food, we finally get it, we eat. So like around 9:30 they start to vacuum. I think this is rude, umm hello we r still eating& talking! & we weren’t the only ones in there either. So at 10:03 they tell us they r closed with an attitude, & turn off the tv where we were watching an Angel game! Pretty much kicking us out! Rude mofo yes we know! next time don’t take almost an hr to get food out! Never again!!!
