The food is out of this world. Menu is almost all seacood(it’s called the fish house for areason). The best lobster bisque. Despite the fine dining it’s very casual. There aren’t many tables and they don’t take reservations so expect to wait.

Went here with my partner during an extended vacation during which we stayed in Brewster for three nights. The inn keeper suggested the Fish House and since — if you’re by the sea — you need to have fish… The restaurant looks rather unassuming from the outside but the number of cars parked in the lot were saying something. The place was packed/cramped and there is no way to call ahead to make reservations. However we did not have to wait long(with a nice drink) and the wait was worth it. The food was — there is nothing more to say– impeccable! It was one of the best fish restaurants I’ve ever been to and the service was just great!

Lobster bisque was fantastic! Sweet potato crusted cod was very unique and tasty. Dessert was amazing. Try the Thai lychee martini!

We stopped here on a whim on the way back from a wedding and it was such a great find! I have never had such fresh calamari. Melt in your mouth, sweet, perfectly fried. I’ve never eaten calamari like this and I will specifically come back here for it again! We also had the flounder(again, so fresh) and the lobster roll(on brioche). The flounder was lightly herbed and came with a delicious tomato sauce along with teeny couscous. It was well presented and all the flavors melded nicely together. The lobster was sweet, had the right amount of mayo and was worth 18(always around 25 in Boston). Highly recommend!

I had one of the finest meals ever tonight at the Brewster Fish House. The house salad was delicious, the salmon was amazing, and the semifredo mousse dessert was unbelievable. Our server, John, was the ultimate professional. I will definitely go back!

I had dinner with a few friends tonight. And it was great! They don’t take reservations, but they were very accommodating. I had the halibut special. $ 33. It was great. I loved the ambiance. I loved the wine. Worth the wait.

We came to the restaurant around 9pm on Labor Day and didn’t have to wait for a table. The restaurant is small, family owned and the food is amazing. We had oysters, fish chowder, crab cakes, hamachi and scallop entrée. The hamachi was the only entrée I wold not order again. Everything else was superb. We had the Malbec. And for dessert Panna Cotta, which was delicious. We will definitely be back next time we’re in the area. Hope they don’t run out of tuna then.

PHIL is the rudest bartender I’ve ever had. If you want to be treated poorly by a bartender go here & ask for PHIL. Last weekend my three girlfriends and I, all hardworking professionals living in New York City, came for a nice dinner to Brewster Fish House. Everyone knows New Yorkers like to eat & spend money on dining experiences. The wait for a table was close to an hour & a half so what better way to kill time than to drink. We sat down at the bar & our bartender PHIL didn’t even acknowledge us. Also there are 7 seats at the bar & we sat right in the middle. Kind of hard to miss us. After 10 minutes of being ignored we finally asked Phil for a drink menu, since he didn’t give us one or even greet us. We order three sangrias & a martini. Phil proceeds to get three wine glasses out then says we are out of the beach plum martini & walks away. Doesn’t even say can I get you something instead. I then say ok may we please have four sangrias instead. With the glasses out & about to make our drinks, Phil rudely asks us for our IDs. This is understandable that we would be carded, I expected it, we look young but we are all 25. I assumed this was the reason why he was treating us so poorly, he assumed we were young girls. We all gather our IDs & he walks away. I place all IDs on the bar &5 minutes later we are finally served after he exams each ID for about 30 seconds on each ID. I’ve been served faster in a crowded New York City bar. After giving us our drinks he rudely gives us the check when we didn’t even ask for it. I am now FEDUP with Phil. I push the check back & said we will be ordering more drinks, we did not ask for this. Four sangrias, a bottle of wine, & almost a $ 100 bar tab later we were seated. I have to say Phil has really turned my off to this establishment & it’s sad because the food was delicious & one of the best lobster bisque I’ve ever had. So $ 100 at the bar, almost $ 400 at dinner, & we were the last people in the restaurant. Us New Yorkers like to drink, eat & spend money. However we will not be spending another dime here as long as PHIL is there. Again if you want to be disrespected while swiping your credit card on drinks & food ask for Phil, he will really treat you good.

This used to be one of my absolute favorites country-wide, wouldn’t miss it when on the Cape. Went twice this year… first time, was a little disappointed in my meal, but every restaurant deserves an off night, certainly wasn’t going to let that keep me away. Went back about a month later… same problem, meal was good, but not the«meal of a summer», which is what they used to be. So sad… have they changed chefs? Has something else changed? Not sure, but disappointed, especially for what I’m paying. However, I will say, the bartender is fantastic and friendly, pours lovely drinks and the lobster bisque remains the best I’ve ever had anywhere. Next time, might just stop for cocktails and bisque, I’ll get the best of the Fish House and save a bunch of $$.

The food was ‘good’. Nothing special. They do a good job of mixing up the dishes, but get a bit too fancy for their own good in regards to the sides/preparation. It is not kid friendly at all. They do not have a kids menu, nor ice cream other than peach. Our kids pallets aren’t that sophisticated. They prefer the basic chocolate or vanilla. My wife and I have dined in many fine east coast restaurants from the vineyard to Nantucket to Montauk. Their lobster bisque was very good– but they need to add some more island/summer favorites.

Long wait(estimated 1hr, actual 1.5hr) but the food was very good. Worth the wait. The Semifreddo dessert was excellent!

Nice restaurant and we went there on a Thursday night in July 2015. Short 20 minute wait and we brought our drinks outside. Service is very good with young summer waitresses who are extremely polite. Breads are good — nothing spectacular. Salad was excellent and the tuna appetizer was very good. The chef was able to make a special salmon dish due to dietary concerns. Greatly appreciated. Wine(the house pinot noir) was quite good. Bill came to $ 120 with tax/tip(no desert) — worth a repeat visit

I have not been here for 15 years and this remains my favorite seafood place in the entire US! From their unique, fresh delicious lobster bisque to the most amazing fresh cioppino, wirh a beautiful light, perfectly balanced broth, with tomato, fennel and celery. LOVE this place. Oh, their specialty drinks are not to be passed up. Service was superb!

Small and intimate. Pricier portions but the flavorful dishes are fantastic. Great for special occasions. Kobe beef dish was fattier than expected. Tuna and salmon dishes were PERFECT. Duck was unusually prepared but tasty.

Just had dinner here last night and it was wonderful. The place is family owned and operated and I was actually surprised to find a restaurant of this caliber here in Brewster. Earlier in the week we were in Boston and dined at L’Espalier and Menton and the courses we had here were on par with those restaurants. The place is small and can get crowded very quickly. There is a full bar there but also small. We were seated next to the ladies bathroom, which would not have been my choice but it wasn’t that bad. At least no foul odors came from there, which would have spoiled our meal. The chef really pays attention to the dishes and presentation, which I admire. Dishes were not cheap, but well worth it. We would gladly come back next time we are back in town.

Great place to stop for lunch or dinner or just a drink. Chowder, crab cake sandwich and grilled tuna sandwich all good. Served with coleslaw and fries. All very good. Not at all fancy just casual.

The shrimp fettuccine could use a little something, it was bland until you get to the bottom where the sauce was. Coming from Vegas, I was really disappointed in the lack of flavor that accompanied fresh fish in this town. Everyone at the table felt the same about their dishes as well which is unfortunate so I hope a review will prompt an overhaul. Place was clean, plenty of parking in the back, waitress attended to us just fine but could have been more on it with drinks.
