Ah! WTF! I was really looking forward to coming back to this restaurant but it was CLOSED all summer! There is a sign on the door stating that the restaurant is undergoing renovation. However, I don’t see any permits posted at the location and it really looks as if it has been abandoned. What a disappointment. The food was really good.:(PLEASE let the masses know if you are coming back!!!

Place was great while it lasted. It is CLOSED for good. It went out of business a couple months ago.

This place is CLOSED! When it was open it was very very delicious. Ordered through Foodler the other day and when I called the store it went straight to a message saying voicemail inbox was full. I contacted Unilocal to tell them they Closed as well but nobody edited the page…

swung by here to see if there was a small chance that it was open. once again it was closed. you might want to put up a sign if you are closed indefinitely. just saying.

I love Bento! I work nearby and am so glad to have them in the neighborhood. The owner is always cooking up something new for me to try, and it’s always delicious! It’s also a great place to expand on your usual go-tos at Generic Asian Restaurant. Usually get crab rangoons? Try the Buffalo Chicken Wontons! Tend to order dumplings or gyoza? Try the Takoyaki, it’s incredible! Everyone likes the Green Tea Shake, but I recommend the Milo(malt) Shake, it’s just as good. There’s really nothing that’s similar to the Wasabi Nori Hot Dog, but try it anyways, you won’t regret it. The Bento Boxes are a great deal too, you get the main dish plus rice, salad, soup, and appetizer. My favorites are the Katsu pork Bento box and the Wasabi Fried Fish bento. They recently changed their hours so I don’t get to support them as much as I’d like, but if I had the money I’d order from them every day!

Small location but the food is great. My first order was the Yaki noodles with beef and a fried egg on top. The flavoring was great and the portion size was more than enough. The staff is very friendly, not a place I would recommend to sit down in but if you need to call ahead and grab some take out this should definitely be on your list.

This place is the definition of a «sleeper»… You would never expect it but this place serves up some LEGIT ramen. For a good price. It tasted outstanding. I’m so mad I’m just discovering it! Only caveat is that you cannot do ramen to go. Still, being only a 3 minute walk away, I’ll be frequenting much more often.

I very unhappy with them, I ordered online on the website and paid. Waited over 2 hours still no food. Their ordering service and I could not contact them after calling over 10 times. This is the worst service, and I can’t review the food because they did not send me anything

Ramen is one of my favorite foods so I’m very happy to live within walking distance of Bento. Considering Bento is a fusion café and not a Ramen bar, their Tonkotsu Miso Ramen is great. I suggest the Octopus Fritters as well. I’ve read people complaining about service and ambience here but this is a relaxed café not a traditional Ramen restaurant. I think it’s cool to be able to watch a baseball game while eating Ramen and being able to refill your own water at will, but that’s just me.

Real ramen lives here. My only suggestion is that sriracha is too sweet to add some heat to the dish. I ordered extra noodles, but it’s too much for me. Taking home plenty of the broth and bits of each of the garnish. The service is a bit lethargic, but she was gracious when I raved about the ramen for the second time on my out. She also listened attentively to my comment about sriracha.(You could easily bring your own togarishi though) Also the 86 is right outside

Love Bento! Their menu is eclectic and different, and the buff chick fried wontons are a great treat. It’s quiet here on weekend afternoons and a nice place for a late lunch. It’s very small and not great for large groups, but ideal for a quiet lunch or dinner with a friend. Very no-fuss. Good for take-out too.

I’m not really sure what all the fuss is about other than that this does seem like a very« Unilocaly» restaurant. It’s fusion, it’s fatty(read tasty) and it’s got some hipness. We had the ramen with fried egg on top and it was cooked perfectly and quite tasty. Not a lot of dimension to the menu though. I felt like it was a lot of this fatty comfort food. I was also underwhelmed by the totally blasé customer service and I just didn’t feel like there was much heart in the place. Granted we were there for a really early dinner and things had not picked up yet(two of the staff were sitting at tables with their laptops) but I still feel like they could have had a little pride in their establishment. When asked what her favorite thing on the menu was, the waitress pulled out the classic«Well the most popular thing is…» and it took us a while to get her to admit she had a favorite(that was the ramen we ended up having and enjoying). I will probably give it another shot, just because is was tasty, maybe delivery instead. I don’t see much reason to go in.

We went to bento café because there is a new addition to their menu — Ramen! We tried the Tonkotsu Miso Ramen. The broth was very solid and rich, the ramen is done right, and the chashu was nice. All major elements are done nicely and it was a good meal.

We were intrigued by the unique menu items this place had to offer, like the buffalo chicken wontons, and bacon shrimp tempura. The food was ok, but very greasy and one of us was pretty sick later that night. I am not one to blame food for things that could possible be unrelated, but recalling the amount of grease on everything we ordered, it seemed pretty obvious. I don’t think we’ll be trying this place again…

Thirsty late night walk Bubble is my destiny Asian fusion hope This is purely a review based on the Boba/Bubble Tea experience. That is all I had here. I’ve been eyeing this place for a while. It’s in a growing strip of Brighton, adding a little flare to what is otherwise a place for drunk and hungover kids in the area to recover(c.f. Moogy’s). Buffalo Chicken fried rice? Steak and cheese egg rolls? This place is definitely cool fusion. It is also the closest place for me to get some boba, so I thought I’d give it a try. I got basic milk tea with bubbles. They actually made the boba while I was there! The boba was warm!(I don’t mind, I also don’t know if that’s good or bad form in boba drinking world.) At first, I liked the warm soft goo blobs in my mouth, but as they got cooler, they got harder, less pleasant, and really no flavor at all. Maybe it’s just my Americaness needs sugar, but the whole tea and bubble was just a bit bland for me. Doubling up the sweetness prob wouldn’t have made it that much sweeter, but way better. To each her own. I was just happy to get some. Will I go back for boba? No. But maybe some exciting new take out? Probably yes. Editing review looming.

Bento Café is a great place to eat. I live off-campus of BC& I know a lot of students go to Cleveland Circle if they want to «eat out» and want something nearby, quick, and affordable. I am a big fan of Cleveland circle, but there’s only so many times I can eat at Chipotle/Boloco. Bento Café is great because it’s different than what is offered at Cleveland Circle(except Fin’s but Bento Café is more affordable and casual). I’ve only been there once before with my boyfriend, but as we were eating he said«I definitely want to come back here.» It’s a quick walk from South St. only 5 min: closer than Cleveland Circle actually. I had the seaweed Udon & a milk tea when I went. The seaweed udon was delicious and really hit the spot when I went because it was overcast and chilly out. My boyfriend got the chicken teriyaki plate and was very pleased; the chicken was very tender. I think for anyone who lives nearby & definitely for any BC students who like japanese food(not sushi) should try this place out.

If it weren’t for Unilocal,I would have strolled right by. They don’t even have a sign! We ordered Miso soup, shrimp dumplings and Ramen noodles. Our meals were very delicious with plenty of flavor however, the vibes were not congruent with the cuisine. They need more organic components, what is a TV doing here? It felt more like a Chinese restaurant takeout window. I would return, however… I didn’t feel transported. The MENU — so small to read. I would recommend this spot, but hard to find.

Been here a handful of times already, my favorite walkable spot now. It’s hard not to get the buff chick wontons but I’ve been rewarded every time I’ve branched out. Make sure you check the specials board at the counter. Last time it was tako something — basically octopus fritters they were awesome! One suggestion I have is ditch the TV audio. Pipe in some music or even just turn off the TV — it’s annoying to be listening to COPS or CNN or whatever during dinner.

I have been pleasantly surprised by Bento each time I have been there(twice so far). Everything I have had has been really tasty, and I really like the creativity of their fusion menu. A must try is the buffalo chicken wontons and philly cheesesteak spring roll. Honorable mentions go to the chicken ramen, and the udon curry mac & cheese. I’ll be going back, as I saw they offer a variety of smoothies as well(Avocado!) and the staff are super nice. And I’ve yet to try one of the Bento Boxes, which seems a bit odd as the place is called Bento, but hey, aren’t we all a bit odd, and this creative menu mixes up dinner for me and the man-friend.

This place is awesome! Highly recommended! Me and a bunch of friends went and we shared several dishes, all great and nicely presented! My favorites are shrimp tempura(wrapped w/bacon that melted in mouth!), shrimp toast, and pork katsu sandwich! The pork katsu was HUGE in size, crispy and it blended nicely with the mayo and bun. Couldn’t say better things about it! The few of us also shared few shakes and we all liked them! We tried green tea shake, milo shake and HK style red bean shake. Next time I’ll will try their bubble tea for sure! This place is casual self-served style, reasonably priced and staff were nice. Will definitely come back!
