Wow, I kind of feel like they decided to sit us in the colored section. It’s about 30 people of non-color in the from and my friend and I(black guys) in the VERYBACK where no one else is… HMMMMM I hope really do hope it wasn’t because we’re black. #BlackLivesMatter #ReallyReallyThough #InTheBack Update: Brittany reassured us it wasn’t because we’re black and the manager came back and kept us company :). Update of the update: The manager came over and reassured us also it wasn’t, because we’re black. He and Brittany both are some pretty cool people. Thanks for the breakfast guys.

My husband took me and the kids here yesterday(we go usually once a month), and for some reason, we waited in the gift shop faor 35 minutes, before we got seated. My kids got pancakes and my husband and I got the sourdough french toast… ALL of the pancakes and french toast was raw in the middle; cold and gooey. The waitress was kind and apologetic, but we were still expected to pay full price! Normally though, we have good experiences here.

Cracker Barrel is Cracker Barrel when they first opened the bacon was very good and crisp like it was fried on a flat top now it’s limp and greasy. I think it’s all cooked in a oven now, I don’t know who came up with this idea but this is BEACON people it supposed to be FRIED not BAKED. if you want healthy DONTEATTHEBEACON get grits. And the potatoes use to come outnice and brown on top not any more. They use to have really good summer time and fall special also lets get some new deserts the coca cola cake is very old.

This is not the best Cracker Barrel in the world. The CB on I-81 in Blountville at the TRI(Tennessee) airport Exit 63(19 miles south) has better food and management and is always packed. Lots of us Bristol residents drive to the Blountville store where the food is a lot better. If you are heading south. Or head to the one in Abingdon at I-81(Virginia) exit 19(12 miles north). It’s a little tricky to get into. Exit 19(VA) is a mess. Exit 7(VA) is much worse… endless construction. The Exit 63CB(in TN) is at the airport behind the La Quinta Inn. All those exits are pretty busy. It is the interstate. Food much superior though to Bristol Exit 7CB. If you are driving north.

When driving through Bristol in the morning this seemed like an easy an and off place from the interstate to grab a decent breakfast and it is. We experienced excellent service. In fact, our sweet tea was refilled before the glass even reached half empty. Our food was out in 10 minutes, cooked the way we asked for(even the crispy bacon) and was hot. For breakfast, I’m not sure you can go wrong. I’m a fan of the Maine Blueberry pancakes and you will be, too. But, this is Cracker Barrel and if you’re from the South you know what to expect and that will be provided at this location, at least it was to us.

I hadn’t been to a Cracker Barrel in years, but after a raucous night at my partner’s college reunion, our group of 8 had a thoroughly enjoyable brunch here. There was a good crowd when we arrived on a Sunday at about 10:30. We waited for a table for ~10 minutes and immediately had our drink orders taken – coffee and waters all around. Everything came in a timely manner and I had my coffee, which was tasty if a little weak, refilled three times. I had the apple streusel french toast breakfast with eggs and bacon, which was very good. The streusel was hot with a tart, delicious apple butter topping atop well-cooked toast with a liberal infusion of moist apple pieces. The eggs seemed fresh and done properly, though cheese will cost you $ 1 extra. I tried my Lady’s huge blueberry muffin and we practically fought over the crumbs, very satisfying. The bacon was the one failing of the meal; it was over-cooked and too crispy with a lot of fat. Try to get a window seat, as this location sits alone high atop a little outcrop, and the surrounding views of the blue ridge highlands are spectacular. All around this was a wholly satisfying re-introduction to the Cracker Barrel experience. If you can get past the kitsch, they put out a solid, reasonably priced breakfast. It isn’t amazing food, but Cracker Barrel delivers on their promise of a chain breakfast joint that is a cut above the rest. Check it out next time you’re roadtripping.

A surprising place to get great shrimp is at Cracker Barrel! My shrimp dinner was very reasonably priced and was excellent. Check it out and you may be surprised, too.
