By far one of our best places to go for great seafood. Lobster bisque, clamcakes, fried seafood, seafood casserole– all absolutely amazing everytme we go. Great drink specials, too. Love this spot overlooking the water– worth the wait to get in!

A great local seafood place. The food is always tasty and the service is great. It’s a casual place with great views. The restaurant is not fancy but a great go to for good food and outdoor sitting. Their alcoholic drinks aren’t anything special. If they were I’d find myself there more often. It’s also nice that’s it’s close to where Bristol does a lot of outdoor events and the bike path.

Ordered the lobster roll with fries and it was great! The meat was good and it came on a brioche bun for $ 23! Water came in a pitcher with lemon pieces. People I came with were also satisfied with their meals(Salmon Special, The Grilled Trio, and Shrimp Scampi). Bread was also brought to the table with butter packages on the side. The Littlenecks came in a bowl of garlic and oil and the bread was dipped in this.

Just what we were looking for! A casual family friendly seafood place on the water with fine dining food. Décor is vintage nautical, tables are a bit close but with plenty of room. They offer covered outdoor dining as well. Lobster was very, very good and they have an extensive cocktail and beverage selection. Noise level was not bad for such a busy spot. The drive from Providence was a joy. The houses in Bristol are beautiful, rich in history. We travel to RI for medical visits and can’t wait for a follow up so we can go back to Quitos.

Very friendly staff, we waited a little while for our food but it was well worth it! And I finally had a chance to try this place out while coming home to visit, my scallops and fried clams were delicious! I will definitely be back!

The Challenge: water view restaurant in Bristol with fresh seafood, open for lunch Choices: limited The Good — friendly staff, fresh seafood, steamers on menu, served with clam juice and melted butter. A seafood market attached for take-home! Clam cakes were tasty. Terrific breeze at the window seat inside — could have taken a nap right there! The Bad — the wait. Packed, with ½ hour wait, six bar seats, and no waterside wait seating. Most of this is a «nothing you can do» when you are surrounded by water and a park. Personal peeve — sandy sandy steamers. No one takes the time for a cold soak anymore! Ratio of clam to cake could improve… as my Dad grew up in New Bedford and shell-fished for a living, boils, steamers, cakes were part of our food fabric. The scissoring of Quahogs into the batter was an event in our house. The end result was a lovely, relaxing and enjoyable lunch

1. Not sure why the breading is falling off my fried calamari but all i’m getting is a mouthful of yukkiness, as neither the breading nor the calamari is seasoned. Paid 11 bucks for the fried calamari appetizer, should’ve been FREE! 2. Also got the fried platter with fish, shrimps and scallops for 25 bucks! The portion was large but still lacking flavor. I had to put Old Bay and garlic powder on everything. 3. Why was i given marinara sauce instead of cocktail sauce? And why only one small container of tarter sauce for all this? I have ¾s left of this platter and no tarter sauce or COCKTAIL sauce! Nice try, but i’ve had better in Providence and East Providence.

I drove up from New Jersey for a graduation and my stomach spoke throughout the entire ceremony. Fortunately, Quitos was less than 2 miles away and highly rated on Unilocal. The staff must all be old neighbors from some place called«Pleasantville» because they are all so incredibly nice! The only thing better than their attitudes, is the food! Holy seafood this place is delicious! I had the Rhode Island clam chowder, clam cakes, and fish tacos(don’t judge me), and guess what? ALLWINNERS!!! Needless to say if you’re in need of happiness on a plate, go here.

Man, this place had some great food, but was pricey. $ 23 for a lobster roll but it was a large portion of plump lobster, one of the best I’ve ever had. Great Manhattan chowder. $ 15 for fish and chips which were lightly battered and not greasy/heavy. Got 6 oysters for $ 18 that were large. Inside décor was dated and cramped but they have a lovely outdoor area that will open next month. Service was friendly and attentive. Will be back with another deal next month. Can’t wait to sit out on the bay and get another lobster roll!

Great for outdoor or indoor dining with a beautiful on water location. Cute décor on the inside with always lively summer specials on the menu. There is not much better than their Stuffies, or Stuffed Quahogs whichever you prefer. I am in love with those things. I’m wishing I had some with me right now as I write this review.

I love this place. Bucket of steamers and a bowl of seafood stew, and a stuffie or two, washed down with some cold beers in the summer is one of my favorite things to do. Really enjoy the outside seating or even inside next to the windows, over the water. Busy, packed, but great.

CLAMSHACKFRIEDFISHATITSBEST Quitos used to be a special treat after a bike ride from east Providence. Now that I live here I’ve forgotten it. I got so attached to BLOUNT in Warren I overlooked it Now, in the waning days of the season I’ve rediscovered it. Chowder and clam Cakes on a par with BLOUNT, smaller cakes and scallops but considerably less expensive. Fish and chips better fish than many other places. My wife raved about the lobster bisque. Bisque They have full liquor license and will get you a club soda in a giant glass, a must for me. Outdoor venue still open with heaters, at least till the end of the month. They told me to call after that as they will stay open as long as they can. I bet I can attract out the summer for one more outdoor meal if I wear a sweater Burgers, other sandwiches and a couple of Italian entrees, Required by law here in RI, are available but you go for the clams, scallops, lobster, chowder/bisque

We all had the autumn specials for lunch. The food was amazing. We all tried each other’s and were equally happy with the flavors! We also had the spicy crab dip appetizer. Wow, absolutely delicious with the home made chips. And we left with 2 quarts of their soup, for the win! Only reason for less than perfect score was the service. Def very slow despite the well staffed restaurant. Other then that, no complaints and highly recommend!

I like Quito’s a lot! It’s been around for years but I just made my first trip there this summer and I was pleasantly surprised. The menu is huge and boasts a vast array of options like freshly fried seafood, raw bar items, pasta dishes, grilled seafood entrees, lobster rolls and more. I must warn you that this is not cheap food by any means and the décor is a little rough around the edges but the waterfront dining location is lovely. If the wait is too long for the dining-in area(which it can get, like, REAL long), I recommend heading around the corner and going to the takeout window. I like to get my Quito’s to go and head over to Independence Park for picnic style dining. I’m a fan of the lobster roll, it’s market priced but the portion is generous and don’t skip out on the cole slaw, it’s good! Also, they do a great fried seafood platter. Lightly breaded, freshly fried and still honors the flavor of the seafood. My only bad meal so far was the Lobster Papperdelle. Too much cheese totally obliterated any chances of lobster flavor and it was just a sad, gloppy mess.

Got the lobster ravioli and my wife got the scallop roll. Both were excellent. Homemade clam cakes and chowder topped off the meal. Good thing the food was good because is was a little«shacky» for fine dinning. Other than that good experience

Figured being post Labor Day could go on a Friday evening without reservations and I was right. We were told the wait would be 10 to 15 minutes and that proved to be accurate. The setting is very nice and the staff were welcoming and attentive. We both ordered the RI chowder which was very good but not very hot. I had a lobster roll and Cole slaw and both were excellent. My friend had baked fish that he said was also very good. I tried a craft beer that was an «adult» version of root beer and must say it was quite good. I had been looking forward to Quito’s and was very glad I finally got there.

I went yesterday afternoon with two friends for lobster rolls and it was amazing! We sat out on the patio and it was wonderful. We got the lobster rolls buttered and they were tasty and sweet. I’m already planning for my return trip!

Always packed in the summer but man is this place the bomb. They luckily have take out so a quick order and a sit by the water and you have a the perfect scenery with a nice sunset. Lobster roll is my favorite here. Simple, plenty of lobster and not the typical masked with buttered, seasoning or salt. Just quality ingredients, simply made to taste nothing but perfect. RI clam chowder is very flavorful and a total different take from a Manhattan or Boston clam chowder. Clear broth filled with clams, potatoes and all the good stuff. We’ve tried many items on the menu and nothing has disappointed other than the long wait on a weekend evening. So be sure to either plan ahead for the wait or grab a take out to go. As for reservation I believe its 6 or more people only anything less is just a walk in wait. Give them a shot and let me know your opinions. Definitely one of the best in the area and I make every point to make it out when I’m even a few hours away.

Our first visit — overall it was very good and we’d like to come again, but some of the food preparation would have to be improved. The scenery was lovely! Our waitress was very attentive. We appreciated the friendliness of the busboy(and noticed he was careful to thoroughly clean up vacated tables and even underneath). We started with chowders: Manhattan for me and New England for my hubby. Fantastic!!! Nice, warm rolls were also served. We also ordered mussels in an oil and garlic sauce, but we had no idea how much oil — waaaay too much oil! Entrée time — here’s where the potential 4 stars dropped to 3. I ordered the seasonal item: Lobster Paella. Hubby had the scallops with chunky mashed potatoes and broccoli(he also had a house salad-blue cheese flavored, but no chunks of blue cheese to be found). The scallops were as big as the waitress said they would be and the portion was very generous. The potatoes, sadly were flavorless and the broccoli was overcooked, wet, and sitting in small pool of water in it’s single serving bowl. Then there was the oil — all over the dish making everything oily. My lobster tails were nicely grilled, but the saffron rice was overcooked and mushy AND flavorless. So, if we were to come again we’d like Quito’s to hold the oil! I think they’d save money by not dumping so much oil on the food. We thought we had finally found our RI seafood restaurant, but alas, the search continues…

Fresh seafood and HUGE portions! Prices were great for the amount of food you get. Clam cakes and stuffies were really great. In Bristol you really can’t go wrong if you want seafood but Quito’s seems like it’s right off the boat. Excellent view as well. One tiny complaint is the dipping sauce options for clam cakes(my personal favorite) was either cocktail sauce or tartar sauce. Not bad in 1987 but I would have liked a spicy mayo/aioli sauce or something a little more modern. Also options were pretty limited as far as craft beer goes. Visit this place ASAP if you want the best seafood around.

The food was great! The atmosphere is laid back and cozy! The view is to die for! Outdoor or indoor seating is available so you can choose. On nice days the covered patio is the way to go for sure. The specials were yummy, salmon tacos with avocado vinaigrette nice and fresh! The stuffy was okay but def not the best I have had or close to it. The chowder was great. The fish and chips was a winner at the table and was a very large portion! The kids chicken tenders and fries are def enough for two little ones to share.

I’m giving this eatery a high rating. For one thing the hostess was so wonderful on accommodating my family of 8. The waitress we had was very efficient and took care of the the 5 kids that we had with us. The meal was excellent from the lobster pasta to fish and chips along with the special salmon tacos with avocado ! Amazing!!! Portions are big so go hungry. New England clam chowder was both a good size bowl and was rich and creamy and full of clams. Atmosphere is totally laid back and casual. There’s awesome covered patio that would be great on a summer day. They also offer Gelato as a special treat. The prices are reasonable for the area. In the summer it’s usually impossible to get in so that should tell you it’s a winner. I would definitely go back on a sunny day to sit by the water and enjoy another seafood meal,

I’m updating my review from 4 to 5 stars after eating lunch here three days in a row because of service, food and fun: The greeter, the owner I believe, was warm and welcoming and personable each and every time. The servers — Tori, Gina, and Amanda carried on the tradition with personal comments that made my bride and I feel like we’d been coming here for decades. The highlights for me after three lunches — Coors LIght in a COLD glass, littlenecks and cherrystones on the half shell, the New England clam chowder and the lobster roll with butter with the french fries and cole slaw sides. My bride choose the Fish something Sauvignon Blanc, the same chowder, and crab cakes as her faves. My son liked the Mango shrimp because it was spicy. My wife’s family HAS been coming here for decades and swear that Bristol clams are the best in the world. I’m now a believer!

This place is a hidden gem! What a restaurant! The seafood is OUTTTATHISWORLD!!! So fresh and never frozen, the boats come up to the dock and then go right back out for more. The lobster bisque is simply perfect, with a whole claws in it! Best appetizers are the calamari(huge and plump), the crab dip(wicked cheesy and full of crab), and the steamed mussels(the portion a meal in itself). The fried whole clams wow! Anything lobster wow! A must go! Oh and ask for Katie she is super :)

Quito’s has a beautiful view of the water but the restaurant itself could use a face lift. This is a great place to grab a beer and plate of fried seafood and watch the sun go down, but it’s not a place to impress a first date. We tried the calamari, which we order almost every time we see it on a menu, and we both agreed theirs was the best we’ve ever had. HUGE pieces of squid, fried delicately in a light, flavorful batter. Each piece was very chewy and salty, just like it should be. I had the seafood soup, which was just okay. Lots of seafood(fish, shrimp, mussels, etc.), but the tomato broth was a little bland. We also had the fried whole bellied clams, which were not sandy or gritty in the least. In all, Quito’s is a great casual spot in Bristol, perfect for stopping in after a sweaty bike ride, and generally a nice relaxing place to catch up with friends over a frosty brew.

Locationally, Quito’s is a terrific choice for a spot to dine at after a trip down the East Bay Bike Path all the way from East Providence, about 13 miles or an hour and how many minutes away. It was just a short distance away, along the water’s edge. We came at an opportune time when there was no wait. Their set up is such that seats are available indoor, outdoor, and outdoor yet covered, where we were. Food didn’t take too long, which was good since we had worked up an appetite. They seem to handle fried food pretty well, as we were happy with our fried seafood platter $ 26 with its sizable fish filet, handful of whole belly clams, maybe 5 sea scallops, pair of shrimp, all resting on a nice bed of fries. The cole slaw was okay, the seafood fresh and the coating crisp. The crab cake appetizer $ 16 two lump crab cakes sauteed in a honey-ginger sauce, served with sliced tomatoes and romaine lettuce was moist and tasty enough. The sweet potato fries $ 4.95 were more satisfying with a nice crispness despite lacking some of that natural sweet potato sweetness I so enjoy. I sampled a DC’s pan seared salmon entrée $ 20 and found the fish to be cooked just right. While another pair of friends didn’t like their Seafood Paella $ 24 as they found it improperly tomato based and the seafood to be rather overcooked. Their side of fried clam strips $ 13 however were pretty meaty for clam strips. 20% gratuity was automatically included for our party of 6, but made VERY evident. For MA residents who have popped over to RI for the day — they charge 8% tax at eating and/or drinking establishments(that’s an extra 1% tax on top of their normal state sales tax). So keep that in mind when calculating your tip, or you’ll be shortchanging your server unintentionally. Their bathrooms inconveniently lacked a hook that is so useful for the purse/bag carrying population. 3.5 stars is about right.

Visiting Rhode Island with friends, both Derek and I formally lived here. Previously I never spent much time in Bristol but Derek attended Roger Williams so upon his suggestion we tried this and that was an amazing suggestion! Walking up this place is very unassuming, a small shack with a patio and plastic furniture BUT sit down and enjoy this quant spot. For my meal I started with the clam cakes, listed as a fried dough with clam. You can select anywhere between 1 or a dozen. Although I found these to be tasty these littlr fried dough balls are served without a sauce, I ended up asking for a cocktail sauce. They are also VERY doughy. Their appearance is similar to that of a hush puppy however there is no corn or corn meal present in these fried dough balls, their consistency is pretty much fried dough. You may not get clam chunks in every bite but the flavor is consistently there. My main course was the classic New England lobster roll. Now with living in RI for a few years and traveling for work I’ve sampled lobster rolls across the country and by far this was the best lobster roll I’ve had. The lobster salad was not heavy in dressing a/k/a mayonnaise nor seasoning. Although advertised with dill the dill is not heavy and the only addition I made was some pepper. The sandwich itself was largee than expected and over flowing witj lobster salad. I selected a side of fries and was delighted at the ability to drizzle of malt vinegar. The food fantastic and the service was fast, I’d give them 5 stars except for the ambiance. I don’t think they need to be over the top upscale but plastic deck furniture isn’t the most comfortable.

Came here for lunch on Sunday with my partents. As I expected the place was busy and there was about a half hour wait to sit outside on the patio. During our wait we grabbed a round of beers and had time to look over the menu and game plan our meal. Once seated our server was attentive and she got our order in right away. For starters we split two stuffies and three clamcakes. They were both very good and had a good amount of clam pieces in each(and the stuffie had great seasoning /flavor). For my main course I went with the lobster roll and my parents tried the fish tacos and the pan seared fish sandwich. From the first bite up until the last french fry was gone, we all couldn’t stop raving about how amazing the food was. All the fish was extremely fresh, well prepared and the portions were the perfect size. And as much as I love lobster rolls… the one I had ranks up there as probably one of the best in the state. The hotdog roll was buttered and grilled and then stuffed with huge chunks /claw meat that was perfectly dressed with just enough mayo. Just thinking about it now is making my mouth water and crave another one. In my mind, Quito’s is the quintessential RI clam shack. While the wait can be lengthy at times to grab a table, the food and views certainly make it worth the wait. Servers were friendly and even when busy seemed to stay on top of things. This little spot in Bristol is a great go to when it comes to fresh seafood and good size portions. It wouldn’t be summertime in RI without a trip to Quito’s.
