The TimeOut Sports Bar inside the Double Tree by Hilton in Bristol is good for what it is — a bar inside of a hotel room — but it could be SO much better. For those not in the know, the Double Tree is where ESPN sends athletes and celebrities who travel to Bristol for the company’s «Car Wash»(appearing on a variety of shows such as SportsCenter). The hotel as a whole has been majorly upgraded ever since its time as the Radisson and Clarion hotels, which I believe was part of the deal with ESPN to make it their go-to hotel(full disclosure — I work at ESPN but never have to stay there for anything since I live in Bristol already). The bar has a really cool vibe inside, and you never know what athletes or celebrities might be sitting in there to get food or a drink during their stay in town. As much as a good vibe and a nice-looking bar can do for a place, I can’t say I was all that thrilled with the food or drinks I’ve had the couple times I’ve been there. The overall look and vibe of the bar bumps it up from 2 to 3 stars for me, but like I said before, it could be SO much more.

Great drinks– try the Manhattan. Also the calamari is fantastically done with a sweet chillie tai sauce that is to die for. There is a half off bottles of wine every Friday with live music as well outside on patio.

I really like this bar! It’s a nice little gem you wouldn’t expect to find in Bristol and plus I got to meet Ray Lewis there! Just casually having some lunch lol. They have this triple chocolate drink, SO good!

Came in for food and drinks after hearing that a new chef took over in January. In the past, I had a couple of bad experiences with inconsistent food quality, but really wanted to support my local businesses. I ordered the Creekstone Farm’s TOSB Burger, medium-rare with a side salad. The burger was excellent and perfectly cooked and was seriously on par with Max Burger, Plan B, or any other high-end burger place around the State. The salad was good too with pickled red onions and mesclun greens. To drink, I was psyched to see they had some High West Campfire whiskey in stock. It’s my favorite go-to blend. Service was extremely friendly, honest, and attentive. I’m definitely looking forward to coming back to check out the other items on the menu. For now, however, I’m confident in saying that this is by-far the best burger in town and the new chef has this place headed in the right direction.

Nice upscale hotel bar in the middle of nowhere… Sorry, Bristol, CT. Great beer selection, Pacific Rim BBQ wing were great and the Hanger Steak wrap was delicious, although the star of the show were the truffle Parmesan frittes!!! Close to ESPN, so you never know who you’ll run into. Sat next to a former NFL center who was very cool to talk to.

This place took 40 minutes to just get us appetizers. The food was just ok. It was definitely not worth four stars like Unilocal shows right now.

Food was just OK, probably caught them off guard. It seemed like we were the only group there(Sunday @ 2pm). Our fries all came out cold. My steak wrap seemed like it was made in the morning and heated up to order. The vegi burger was burnt, we sent it back and it came back really good. Our calamari was cold and soggy. Beautiful job on the hotel renovation though.

We started with buffalo wings which were very good. However, they came out only a minute before our burgers and were not cooked well done as requested. I had a TOSB Burger. Again, it was very good except it was a bit under-spiced and the habanero BBQ sauce was just a dab. A very generous portion of shoestring fries were excellent while they stayed hot. This is a great place to go for excellent food and a relaxing atmosphere. We are fairly local and don’t think of going to a hotel restaurant but we’ll be here regularly! They have an decent selection of local craft brews, too.

Okay… so here it goes… we were rudely told that the kitchen was closed when we tried to order dessert. It was 6 minutes passed the closing time but we had been done with dinner for at least 30 minutes. Our waiter never came by or mentioned that the kitchen would be closing soon or to ask if we’d like dessert. After the rude encounter, another employee, perhaps manager came to our table to apologize and offered us a round of drinks.

Time out sports bar is in the hotel in Bristol. I came here for a drink with a friend after work. She lives in Naugatuck and I live in Bristol(Both working in Hartford) so we decided to swing by here on our way back from work. They have great happy hour and we shared some nachos which were extremely good. I will definitely be back!

This place… I love this place. Stopped in basically because my friend couldn’t hold it and had to use the restroom. Decided to grab a drink… or two. As I was talking to the bartender, I mentioned this pork belly I had had there once during a Unilocal event and how I dream about it… seriously. I sit and day dream about it. She says… we have that on the menu! WHATTTTTTTTTT?! that’s all I needed to hear. I took it to go. It reheated beautifully… This pork belly… I … I can’t… it’s what dreams are made of. It comes with cinnamon cream and stewed apples. I want to eat it every damn day. and here I go… I’m daydreaming about it… damn it

I’d heard that the burger here was as good as Plan B’s from both the management at Time Out and from a couple of fellow Unilocalers. I enjoyed my meal there on St. Patty’s Day and I was anxious to see how the burger stood up to Plan B’s which is my favorite. After further review Plan B is still the champion in my book(and in my stomach). I found the burger to be a bit dry at Time Out and I did not enjoy the over toasted dried out bun. Overall the burger was okay but not a substitute for Plan B. Still some other items on the menu there that I’d like to try and I will report back once I have.

Just tried this place and loved it! It’s very trendy(funky chairs) and upbeat. Great service. It’s in the hotel, but right there when you walk in. Plus, unlike a lot of bars it’s open all the time. That’s good for us since my husband and I are teachers and get out early on a Friday afternoon. We get out at 2 and all area bars don’t open until 3 or 4.

Stopped in based on Unilocal reviews for drinks and apps. The renovations(Clarion to Doubletree) are quite nice and the bar is attractive and contemporary. The drinks were fabulous and the food deelish but what really made it was the bartender. Attentive, accommodating, good conversationalist and overall great bartender. Addressed our concerns about our orders and made different«fun» drinks for other patrons on color requests! It is pricey– not akin to the area sports bars– it is reflective of a hotel bar– along those lines it is also fancier. And… Empty. At least on the night we were there which is unfortunate because it’s a «keeper!» We’ll be back!

I was in town recently on business and staying at the hotel. I went in to grab a drink and a quick bite to eat. I was pleasantly surprised by the warm atmosphere and great happy hour. I ended up hanging out watching the game with great company. The bartenders were very friendly and attentive. I enjoyed it so much that I ended up there again the next night. The bartender, Steve, remembered me and took great care if me once again. Oh by the way the food was both reasonably priced and delicious. Try out the happy hour specials!

Was able to attend the Elite Unilocal event held at the Willows within the hotel that was an absolutely incredible spread! they did a fantastic job. With a few friends stopped into the bar for wine. House Pinot was very good. Atmosphere is very upscale and updated. Bartender was super nice. We did not order food but what did come out looked amazing at the table next to us. The bartender said that they make a blu burger that will beat any Plan-B burger any day… So we shall see. Look forward to returning.
