The vegetarian pizza was superb, and matched only by the warm & friendly service…there were 4 of with an 18 month old and they could not have been nicer or more accommodating with high chair & smiles. warm and nurturing environment, great food including the dessert gobbled up by the baby… nice size drinks and great onion rolls!

Very nice people, they don’t have an attitude when you call. The food was good! And delivery was right on time

Great lunch deal. 2 slices and a soda for 5 $. Good pizza flavor. Not to crispy. Clean store and decent place to try.

Very disturbing experience here last night. Watched the owner — who was standing stock-still at the back of the room while a brand-new waitress struggled to keep up with a full house — angrily shove her from behind toward our table. Never in my life or in all my travels have I ever seen a business owner raise his hand like that against an employee, let alone a man(or rather, a «man») against a small woman he outweighs by a good 40 pounds. Truly sickening, and we’re done with Generico’s based on that alone. The food? Yeah, there was a problem with the food, too, that was handled unprofessionally, but who cares? We stayed to support the waitress, who was definitely shaken by what this guy did, but he’s made his last dime off of us. If you want to support a business where employees are literally pushed around like that, well, that’s your call.

The pizza varieties are pretty cool and tasty. The bruschetta for appetizers is delicious. As an entrée, the personal pizzas are worth it. I had the paninis… the chicken panini was delicious… steak one was okay. Sangria was good and they have a $ 3 happy hour special. The owners are super nice and friendly.

Ordered delivery from here — the delivery guy was extremely nice but my order was wrong(not his fault). I ordered garlic knots(DONOTORDER) as well as a chicken marsala pizza and zeppolis. The pizza showed up as just regular chicken marsala. I called back and told them that the order was wrong — they were nice about it and sent over the pizza quickly. In the meantime I did start eating the chicken marsala(which was pretty good) as well as the zeppolis which were very good. Overall the food was fairly good — but to screw up something as simple as a garlic knot in a pizza place does concern me a bit!

Ordered a couple of pies tonight to feed my freezer. I got a margarita pie and a plain cheese pie. I tried a slice of each before wrapping the rest in individual aluminum foil and freezing for easy future dinners. Both were fine. I liked that the plain cheese was a bit overdone, because I love a crunchy crust. The sauce on the margarita was nice and tasted of fresh, tangy tomatoes.

Best pizza in the Bronx hands down and ive been to everywhere from the south bronx to riverdale.(Okay maybe not everywhere but well over 100 different places for pizza in the BX) My wife and I ordered every Friday for an entire year until I recently moved. The older gentleman behind the counter was always friendly to us and whenever I brought in family or friends he would walk over to our table and personally thank us and say hello. Real classy old school stuff there. The grandmas pie is out of this world as is the large pizza pie. I used to get a large half cheese half peperoni every Friday like clockwork. Whenever we ordered delivery it was always prompt and showed up hot. The only negative is the young servers were sometimes slow to act when needing stuff like napkins or refills or the bill. They are just kind of young spacey college kids. But the food is so good and its not like the service is bad, just not great. Its a casual pizza spot so you cant expect the service to be out of this world. Overall I miss this place a lot. Highly recommended by my family and myself.

Giving three stars as I’m in a good mood. Fitting name, as the food is generic at best. No white wine in stock on day we were there. Pizza nothing to write about. Actually no pizza in Riverdale is very good(try Half Moon on E. 187 street for good pizza!). Had pasta with plain garlic and oil. Tasted ok, but the portion was too small to share. If you don’t want pizza but do want good Italian food in Riverdale, try Beccofino. Boy I must be crazy to mention this restaurant, as it’s crowded already. That’s how much I like you.

Great service — very attentive and fast. Wonderful soups and a variety of options. Try them, you will like them — they make them from scratch. I liked the chicken fingers, and the sauce was divine. I was with a party of 8, and they all had pasta and it was uniformly well received. I like Genericos.

Gluten free pizza dough actually tastes good! Yay!!! We also had a regular Hawaiian Pizza, very good too. Service was nice, even though it took a while for the pizza to come out. Love the fact that GF pizza tastes great! 5stars for taste 4 for speed.

We ordered a pizza tonight– and after waiting an hour, we finally received it. It was easily the worst pizza we’ve ever had. We ordered whole wheat crust– which was unbelievably dry and appeared to have been frozen. There was virtually no sauce on the pizza, and the toppings we ordered were wrong. When we called back, the man who answered the phone was extremely nice and helped us get a refund. However, we will not be ordering from here again-there are way too many other places to get pizza from in Riverdale.

I really love this place. Easily the very best Sicilian pizza in Riverdale and the prices are very good. Way back when Genericos newly opened(used to be called Jaspers and was up the block) we ordered a pizza and was not happy with the quality. I called the restaurant and Alex, the owner answered. When I explained that we were unsatisfied with the quality, he immediately said that our next pizza was«on him.» A few weeks later we took him up on the offer, getting a «Grandma’s Sicilian» and it was delicious. We have eaten at Genericos multiple times since, taken out many times, and have always been happy with the quality, service, and especially Alex, the owner. He is always upbeat and friendly and always seems to give us free stuff! The dude never allows us to leave without espresso(which is delicious by the way) and has never charged us once! I really LOVE this place!

The food is great! I will not lie. I like it. The only problem I had was the service which made me switch my loyalty to Salvatore’s. When my boyfriend and I started eating here. The waitresses barely changed and I was used to seeing familiar faces every time I went. One day. We arrived anxious to order our usuals of penne ala vodka and buffalo chicken pizza. A new waitress showed her face and took our order. We hanged tight with our hunger and waited for the food. Twenty minutes later. no food. Another twenty passed and still no food. Another waiter came and asked us what we would like to order. My boyfriend and I looked at each other in shock … Like what the hell… We ordered our food 40 minutes ago. It was such horrible customer service. They were new waiters but that shouldn’t stop the usual service from being great. We got up and left to Salvatore’s down the street. Sad to say we will not be going back to Genericos.

I ordered a personal pepperoni pizza and buffalo wings — the pizza was tasteless, lacking in tomato sauce, and there were only two pieces of pepperoni per slice. As for the buffalo wings — there was no buffalo sauce on them. At all. No spices baked into them either. I wanted to call them and complain about my order, but I was feeling pretty depressed at the time, so I think my meal was fitting. Generico’s Pizzeria was like the Universe’s way of telling me «I hate you, Kyle. I’ve always hated you.»

So I was originally begrudgingly writing this review as I usually don’t like to ‘skewer’ restaurants, especially smaller mom and pop shops. I know it takes a lot of work to run a successful restaurant and I admire anyone that attempts to do so. BUT…and yes, here is the expected but… BUT I felt compelled if not forced to write this one. Not by any particular person, but by the terrible experience. I felt I should warn others so they don’t experience what the BF and I did. I have previously ordered from here with decent experiences. The pizza was delicious, with it’s extra fresh garlic in the sauce and the fresh mozzarella and basil. I felt they differentiated themselves from all the typical pizza shops in the area and always thought of them whenever I craved pizza. The delivery experience was never great, meaning they would take a long time to deliver, but I generally didn’t make a big deal out of it. I would usually account for the extra long delivery and just place the order early so it would arrive just as I was getting hungry. Last night was exceptionally terrible though. We placed our order, a personal margherita pie and a chicken and pasta dish, with garlic knots. My mouth watered just hearing the order being placed as I sat to watch some crummy TV to pass the time. The BF managed to nab the actual owner when placing the order, so he went on to chit chat with him about how much we love their food, how he wishes he wasn’t lactose intolerant and how we look forward to visiting the physical location to meet him in person. We’re told the order will take 45 minutes. All was good. An hour passes. No food. We call, 70 minutes later. We’re told 2 more minutes. 10 minutes later we call again. We’re told 2 more minutes. The driver is getting gas for his car. OK. 10 minutes LATER, we’re both angry, hungry and begging to find out WHATISTHEHOLDUP. The owner is very apologetic and says he’s not sure what’s going on. Perhaps the navigation system took the driver the long way. SURE. 10 minutes later, with my boyfriend complaining with the owner on the phone and I feeling kinda terrible for it, our food arrives. The delivery guy is unapologetic and blames the restaurant. As the BF pays, I open the food. Mind you, at this point I’m just happy to have food and feel kinda bad for how verbal my BF has been about the terrible service. I’m just about to tell him to stop complaining when I open the food bag… and see the burnt to a crisp garlic knots, the small dish of pasta with 2 tbsps of sauce and 3 slivers of chicken. I felt fire rise to my face!!! That’s when I felt enough was enough. NOTONLY did we have to wait almost 2 hours for food, but we received BURNTCOLD food and dishes that would feed my 2 yr old nephew. This was absolutely ridiculous. The BF made sure he told the owner about how disappointed we were and he said he would credit us our money. WHICHHEDIDNOTDO. I strongly feel this is NOT good customer service. I would never run a business this way and he unfortunately does not see the damage he is doing by promising something to a PAYING client and not delivering. This most certainly is the last time I eat there and would not recommend them going forward. I don’t regret anything I write here now, any sympathy I felt went with the $ 30 bucks I spent on burnt cold food. THEEND.
