Let me ask you: * Want very lean thick cut bacon? * Completely made from scratch omelettes that are baked to a golden brown, &(in my opinion) could feed 2 – 3 adults? * An imaculetly clean kitchen open for your inspection? * A health driven menu to fit anyone’s pallet? * An entire staff of well trained, go out of their people that have never disappointed me — ever? * A warm home style environment? * A place that will prove to be the best all place for breakfast & lunch as I have found? * Quality you will not find any where else from the top to the bottom of their entire menu? * This is my exclusive choice in places that serve breakfast. * My second choice for late lunch or dinner is Panera bread.

Worst service ever, waiter Justin is rude and no smile. Only smile to his friend. Very slow service.

Always worth the wait! Great staff! Fast when seated! And food to die for! m would definitely recommend to anyone. The bacon is the best with the fresh crepes. Oh and you have to eat the home made whip cream!

Love the apple pancake. And the crêpe florentine. And the scrambles. And the omelettes. The coffee is even good.

So. I admit, I didn’t want to give a chain 5 stars. I just *did not* But when the rubber meets the road, it was a 5 star meal. When my daugher was in school at UW Madison we ate a few times at the one in Madion and were always happy with the meal. But that was a while ago… Well, Wife and I stopped for breakfast this morning. I had not called ahead and we were told there would be a 45 – 55 minute wait. We had nothing going on, so why not? WE didn’t have to wait that long. Got called for a table in about 25 minutes. I’ll say this, the service was *excellent*. Our waitress was spot on with fresh coffee when we needed it, didn’t bother us when we didn’t need her, and was in a great mood and pleasant. All in all an excellent example of customer service at it’s best. Food — We both ordered omlets. Wonderful. perfectly cooked, piping hot. In fact hot enough to burn my mouth. That’s the way food should be served. I ordered the potatoes extra crispy and that’s just the way they came(I can’t even begin to say how often I request that and how *seldom* they are served that way). We were packing up the leftovers and she mentioned that coffee to go is included. Oh yea. I’ll take a cuppa. :) Good stuff, in fact, more than good stuff. We will return. Maybe a Dutch Baby pancake next time.

I’m actually sad to write this review because I’ve heard great things. First off we came here on a Wednesday, not busy at all. It took 15 minutes just to have a waitress take our drink order. I ordered an orange juice with no pulp, she came back with orange juice extra pulp. Then I ordered the eggs Benedict, super soft poached eggs, and I emphasized the super soft poached aspect. When she came back my eggs were fully cooked, and my English muffins were completely burnt. The waitress never checked on us again, and another waitress had to come and refill our sodas. Pretty sad when a place isn’t busy at all and they can’t take care of the few people in there. Their potatoes were good though, that’s why I have them 2 stars instead of 1.

The bad: Called early to get on the waiting list and glad I did. Still had to wait 10 minutes awkwardly near the door. Felt like we were in everyone’s way and wouldn’t want to be seated at a table near the«waiting area». Also, there is no waiting area. The good: I got the pancakes and fresh berries and my friend got the hash. Both were tasty and the coffee was also very good! Unfortunately the waitress seemed stressed and was unable to answer some simple questions about the menu. We just wanted to know if we could get pancakes as a side along with the hash instead of potatoes. Otherwise she kept my coffee filled and was nice! It was an ok experience, but I have some otter breakfast spots that are more comfortable and the food is equally good.

There is often a wait, occasionally pretty long. But it’s worth it. By far the best pancakes I’ve ever had, anywhere. Plus, the service is good and attentive, too. Our personal favorites are the bacon pancakes, Dutch baby, and a side of their excellent Canadian bacon. Also, side note: We recently sat a few tables away from a member of our military in his uniform, and it sounded like he had recently come back from a deployment. The manager comped his table’s meal, and came over to talk to him and thank him for his service. I was really, really impressed with that.

Went for the first time since the review below. The wording on the menus may have been updated, because the allergy information appeared much clearer. Our server was amazing, our food was delivered hot and fresh, and we were seated within fifteen minutes at 9:00 on a Saturday morning. Definitely changed my mind about the joint!

This is the best place to go for breakfast in the Waukesha/Brookfield area and everybody knows it. It’s Sunday, you woke up, went to church, and now it’s time for brunch. You go here and it’s going to be a great day. It’s any other day. You’ve got friends and family in town or maybe your boss is coming to meet you for breakfast from out of state. You meet here and have breakfast, everybody has a good time. You look like a genius. People complement you on your choice of restaurant. These are just a few applicable scenarios of you are thinking about coming to try this place out. Sadly I do not go here often enough but when I do it ends up being a good day.

Very busy– waited an hour for a party of 6. Our waitress was attentive but did not explain an up-charge when my sister asked to substitute onions for mushrooms. The food is good. My mom drags us here for the Dutch Baby. The cherry crepes and the apple pancake cannot be missed. The omelettes are big and come with a short stack of pancakes, but the pancakes/waffles/fruit crepes come alone. Prices range from $ 8 – 12 for most dishes.

45 min lines on morning weekends. No waiting on weekdays. You an spilt all the meals between two-three people. The fruit pancakes feed four kids! Husband got the side of hash with a fried egg on top for a meal.

Oh my god. The BEST place for breakfast. The pancakes are great as you’d expect. The bacon is thick cut and crispy. Eggs nice and fluffy. Service is excellent. It’s like breakfast heaven!

Used to be a favorite breakfast place, but service and food are nowhere near the quality we had come to expect. Dutch Baby Pancake was served burnt crispy. Waited to have it remade, and got something that was more like a half-inch, gluey cheese wheel with slightly raised edges. Not appetizing at all. Many half hearted ‘sorry’ comments, but no manager visit and nothing comp’ed to make up for the inconvenience. Did this place change hands? Most likely it will be a while before we go back, since it was so disappointing today. :(

This location is the savior of this franchise! You Wisconsinites don’t know how good you got it. Every year I get to spend two days in the great cheese state, and when I stay in Milwaukee, I drive to this place for breakfast. Yes, this place is worth driving 25 miles out of the way for. We were lucky to get the inside scoop of calling ahead to put our name down. They don’t do reservations here, but they do a 30 minute call ahead to bypass most of the insane wait. Both times I’ve come here the wait has been pretty crazy. This time, though, we only waited for 5 – 10 minutes and were able to be seated. Withstanding the horrible death glares you get from the ravenous patrons still waiting for any kind of a seat, being able to sit down quick was awesome. I get what I always get when I go to OPH-western omelette and a side of bacon. It never changes. My husband insists on getting the eggs Benedict because at this location the amount and quality of potato pancakes you get is awesome. Food is a bit slow to come out, but here I don’t even care because I know it’s gonna be good. Service is attentive and the restaurant itself is small but clean. The cheese here is delicious(as it should be). Sharp Wisconsin cheddar alllllll day. It’s amazing at how much better this place is over any Illinois location. I highly recommend coming here if you even think about visiting any part of Wisconsin.

Perfect place to come if you’re in the mood for a heavy breakfast with meals bigger than your face. The weekends get super crowded and you can’t make a reservation, so you’re often stuck waiting body to body in the cramped area. They do have benches outside which are nice to sit on when warm. However, once you get seated the staff is always nice and the food doesn’t take extremely long. The baked apple pancake is like none other. It takes a little while longer, but it’s truly magic. I don’t even know what else to compare it to… you can hardly call it a pancake because it’s the size of a pizza, if not thicker. Also the chocolate chip pancakes are always a must order. Cherry crepes are always a specialty I’m drawn to. Top it off with a side of their corned beef hash– it’s the best I’ve ever had. Mostly corned beef and less potatoes, that’s the way to do it. Also their omelettes have this otherworldly fluffiness to them that I’ve never seen elsewhere. My best advice would be to come in a big group and share everything. The portions are huge, but also if you’ve gained anything from reading this review you’ll know it’s impossible to decide. And I’ve been coming to this place for a decade. Also come early in the morning or early afternoon when it’s less busy.

Very good eating! I stopped here while staying over the weekend in Brookfield and found a gem of a restaurant for breakfast! For the price, you will get a large portion size of what you order. I wound up having an omelette with strawberry pancakes and coffee, and I just couldn’t finish the entire meal. The pancakes alone were about the size of the entire plate! This place seems to usually be packed, yet the servers are quite attentive to their customers. My booth table was small, yet I didn’t care. The parking outside usually fills up, yet if you don’t mind walking, there is additional parking further down to the right. Not sure if this OPH is privately owned or part of their corporate chain. I was impressed so much with this location that I wound up eating at the Scottsdale, AZ location a few months later.

Two words: Bacon Pancakes. I’ve had other items off the menu, but the fluffy, candied bacon bit filled pancakes topped with real maple syrup can’t be beat. And even if you don’t like bacon(who are you??), there are a LOT of other choices to be had for breakfast. When we arrived, the parking lot was packed full and so was street parking. Normally I’d just drive somewhere else but I drove 25 minutes to get here and found someplace to park in a short time. Knowing this, imagine my surprise when we walked in and were immediately seated. The building is a lot larger inside than it looks like from the street. The inside was bright and clean with nicely dressed waitstaff. As I was supposed to be picking out my order, I noticed empty plates all around — this is a good thing. I had high hopes if everyone was finishing all their food. My husband had the Bacon pancakes and fresh OJ while I ordered a combo with scrambled eggs and plain pancakes. Based on the amount of people constantly filing in and out of the restaurant I thought we’d have to wait a while but the food arrived rather quickly. My eggs were just as fluffy and perfectly cooked as the pancakes. You get a lot of food really. Just an order of pancakes has about 6 or 7 on the plate if I recall, and my order came with 4. They aren’t terribly large, so while that may seem like a lot of pancakes, it isn’t too hard to polish them all off in a sitting. Everything was great from the moment we arrived until we left. I’m definitely coming back. The only reason I give 4 instead of 5 stars is the price. I have had comparable breakfasts elsewhere for less. I just come back here for the large menu selection.

I thought I would head out to the suburbs to get breakfast today and get out of the city. The original pancake house looked interesting so off I went. My breakfast was $ 20.00 and I didn’t even get toast or coffee with it. The building was nice looking with a stone chimney and gazebo next to it. The inside was wood all over with yellow walls and green art. It looked clean and shiny for an old place. Service was great and my food came quick. The menu was one sheet with both sides filled with options, not a greek mess. I ordered the sausage with two eggs and potatoes and a side of bacon. Everything looked good, see the pictures. The eggs were sunny side up. The sausage they brag about was juicy and boring, needs more zest. The potatoes were good looking but bland even after adding salt. The bacon was the star here and the best part of my breakfast. It was thick sliced and cooked perfect not too crispy and not soggy. Over all I don’t mind paying $ 20.00 for breakfast if I was wowed but this didn’t wow me. I think it’s over priced with no toast or Coffey to boot. I should have stuck to the city but my zeal for trying new places bites me at times. Besides that great bacon there was nothing exciting about this breakfast. Price vs taste being the factor of a future visit, I will not go back. There are many great breakfast places for half the price. I thought going to a more expensive place in the suburbs would yield a better breakfast experience but not so.

This place is far from a George Webb’s, IHOP or Waffle House. This location is very cozy and reminds me of a place that would be located somewhere in Europe. We usually eat here once a year, but this July ate here twice during our annual Milwaukee visit. The first time I ordered the Mediterranean omelet, this was gigantic and could not be finished in one sitting and it was definitely scrumptious. It also came with three buttermilk pancakes and their amazing syrups, truly the best berry sauce I have ever tasted so far. My second visit I had their eggs benedict, the poached eggs were cooked just right, served with their hollandaise sauce and came with a side of their home fried potatoes. These were all very good as well. Instead of the slices of bacon, I swamped them out for their spinach and tomatoes, which is a much healthier choice. The service here of our waiters both times I found to be really top notch and the food was of high quality, with that said those come with a hefty price tag. For the average person, this place might be a tad expensive, for two adult meals, two juices and one child’s meal, expect to spend about $ 40 to $ 45 with gratuity for breakfast. [Review #192]
