Excellent lunch. I had the TexMex burger and it was cooked to perfection. Nora is a wizard in the kitchen. Come see and taste for yourself. Service staff was friendly and Nora will personally bring you your dish. Solid!

One star is only because you can’t leave it blank. Johnnie B. 6÷16÷2013 Horrible horrible. I love trying local restaurants, so I have patience with time. But the service was slow, 1 hour after we sat the food had no flavor. To make matters worse, the owner stated, «the chef likes to make the food with no seasonings so you can season it like you want» never again! To add insult to injury, the credit card machine was down, so I had to go to a cash machine after waiting 20 more minutes. I have tried many local restaurants across the United States and Nora B’s is the absolute worse! Call restaurant impossible maybe they can help!

Trying some new bfast places west of Milwaukee. We typically always go to Blues, but are trying to branch out(but it is so darn hard with choices like the Dubliner, Breakfast Pizza, and Breakfast Salad)! This place was pretty ho-hum. I probably wouldn’t go back. I got a breakfast sandwich and it was not great. Bread, Egg, Bacon. I make a better one at home. Only had one egg so the bread to egg ratio was terrible. Also — it’s really hard to find. You have venture into some circular mall thing and find it behind a gazebo. Go to Blue’s Egg — you’ll be happier.

I am a fan of Nora B’s! This is a cute little restaurant /diner, located in a weird area of Elm Grove. Look for Sunset Playhouse and you will find it. It is located near the big gazebo out in the courtyard, in the brown building across from Playhouse. The worst part of our experience was actually just trying to find the place. Anyway I’ve been here a few times with my mom and every time our lunch has been great. They offer a good deal during lunch for soup and a sandwich. I’ve tried several of the sandwiches and it always hits the spot. The staff is really friendly and provides very attentive service with endless coffee. Although the food might take a little bit longer, it’s all made from scratch so they are all right by me. I’ve never had an issue with any of my food being over cooked. Prices are reasonable, and there is plenty of parking available. Yes, there is kind of a ‘coffee clutch-esque’ vibe to this place(i.e. all the older ladies of Elm Grove like to gather here to gossip) but that’s all right. Overall I will be back here — it was a good place to do lunch with my mom on a random weekday.

My grandparent’s love this place. They have been talking about taking us there for weeks so we finally went for a fish fry one Friday. It is a true café/diner type setting with small tables and an option to sit at the counter. They were quite busy and the poor waitress seemed a little overwhelmed. She was very friendly, and we could see she was busy, so we didn’t mind the wait for her to take our orders. It used to be strictly fish on Fridays, but they have since expanded the menu slightly. There are multiple options for fish– including baked or fried and what type of fish. There is also an all you can eat option. The fish comes with rye bread and your choice of potato. While I personally didn’t order the fish, it looked and smelled great and everyone was happy with it. Having the baked, healthier option was definitely a plus. I ordered the fried eggplant and it was delicious. Not as crispy as I normally like, but airy and flavorful. The appetizer portion was just the right amount. They do have a small selection of beer and wine and the prices are reasonable. They are not normally open for dinner– only on Fridays. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back here unless my grandparents really wanted to, but overall it was a good experience.

Food took way too long. The food was not good. The waitress forgot what we ordered. The walls and floors are dirty, the bacon is limp and not cooked properly and it is just not good. Sorry!

I honestly cannot remember how I first heard of Nora B’s, but they’ve been on my radar and I found myself in the area for lunch on Friday. It was tricky to find because it has an Elm Grove Rd. address, but it is not on Elm Grove Rd, not in a building on Elm Grove Rd. To find them, you’ll have to turn east on Wall Street and pull into the first parking lot on the left. They are in the Village Court area behing the space the previously held The Grove. I would definitely describe Nora B’s as a diner or café. They are only open for breakfast and lunch(and brunch on weekends). However, Fridays they stay open until 8:00PM to serve the fish fry. Everything is made fresh, even the bakery that you’ll see under glass on the counter. I ordered the fish fry for lunch, as well as a bowl of clam chowder(only $.75 more for the bowl, so it is a better value). The clam chowder broth was a little thicker than a soup, but not the creamy base that I like for potato soups and clam chowders. However, they did not skimp on clams and with the potatoes, this was a hearty and delicious version. I would order it again. The fish fry was tempura battered cod. It came with two pieces, thin crinkle cut fries(my favorite!), housemade cole slaw(I think there were craisins in it) and rye bread. The tempura batter gave it some crisp but wasn’t too much to take away from the fish. I cut into the fish and saw how white and flaky it was inside. It was cooked perfectly! This was one of the best I’ve had and I would come back again for it! Nora was actually sitting a couple of seats down from me at the counter, doing some paperwork. She’s been there 2 ½ years. They have a facebook page and use Twitter, so they’ve got the social media thing down as well as the cooking thing. Some of the specials I’ve seen them post on Twitter include home made potato pancakes and banana stuffed french toast! I’m glad I found Nora B’s and I hope that you find them, too.

Chef Chris cooks a mean fish fry! Flaky, shatter-crispy. Don’t overlook the Shrimp Scampi, Tempura Shrimp and Rib-eye. Everything made from scratch. They’re open for fish fry every Friday night.

My husband and I were in Wisconsin visiting from Miami, FL and decided to grab breakfast. We searched for breakfast spots in the area on the web and saw this place had great reviews. We were not disappointed! Our server was very friendly, and the food was great(we ordered a bunch of stuff… french toast, pancakes, bacon, eggs, hash browns and toast) and it was ALL fantastic! The pancakes are ridiculous… super fluffy with a hint of cinnamon. If we’re ever in the area again, we will definitely be stopping by!

Great home made food and very nice service. My eggs were a bit overcooked but the corned beef hash was really great. I will be back!

I was handed a flyer for Nora’s as I walked into the Winter Farmers Market and since we didn’t have breakfast yet, we went there. It was a little bit hard to find if you’re not familiar with Elm Grove. Even though the shopping center where it’s located was well marked, we weren’t really sure whether we were headed in the right direction once we parked our car. We walked in to a friendly greeting, in a well-lit nicely decorated restaurant with quaint little tables and a hall with more tables in the back. There was a counter with stools reminiscent to the old soda-fountaint days. We chose to sit near the counter to enjoy the wintery view of the courtyard. There was a wall with some shelves containing jewelry for sale — I didn’t get that. The waitress greeted us promptly and we got some coffee immediately. I ordered the corned beef hash and eggs over easy. The waitress warned me that this was real corned beef slow cooked and chunked up, not the diced up stuff that you usually see. I was glad to hear it. My husband ordered a vegetable omelett. The restaurant was a little more than half full and as we waited, a couple came up to the counter from the back to state that they were leaving since no one had bothered to wait on them. I was glad I chose to sit up front. Breakfast was delivered and I was served chunks of corned beef with chunks of red potatoes and it was delicious. The eggs on the other hand were overcooked. Over easy should have some yolk running out, not cooked hard. I didn’t make a fuss because the corned beef hash was so good, I didn’t want to send it back. The omelett was loaded with fresh spinach and other quality vegetables that made it very good. Breakfast was good, although I didn’t get why they were considered in the top 25 in the Milwaukee area, as they quoted from Milwaukee Magazine. I would go back if I was in the area, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to return.

Hands down my favorite place to eat in Elm Grove. Yes, Nora’s is tucked away, but it’s worth finding. The service is friendly and prompt, the food is delicious and consistent– you can’t go wrong here. I work in the area, so I’ve had the opportunity to try breakfasts and lunches on multiple occasions, with both smaller and larger groups, and I’ve never been disappointed.

Went here with a group. Everyone thought the soup was really good. I had a Philadelphia Chicken sandwich. It was seasoned nicely. The homemade potato chips were quite tasty… I couldn’t stop nibbling on them. It is basically a soup and sandwich place. They do also serve breakfast, but I didn’t look at the breakfast menu. The restaurant is in a hidden area, so I’m not sure how well it will do. If a friend hadn’t told me about it, I would never had known it was there. If your in the area
