The food was great and portions were big. Every person we interacted with was friendly and engaging. Will definitely go back.

I stopped in for brunch and was seated within minutes. Emma was my waitress and she was awesome! I did not have to wait 1 minute before she was at my table taking my order. She checked with me multiple time throughout my dining and cared for my requests very timely! Overall fantastic dining experience!

Our beloved North Ave Grill has been closed for remodeling and so we’ve been exploring back up breakfast places and decided to try Maxwells. I wasn’t expecting anything exciting from a place in a strip mall near Mayfair, but I was wrong. Maxwells delivers a solid experience at really reasonable prices. The interior is definitely nicer than«standard diner», and they are only open for breakfast/lunch. Menu-wise, as might be expected there is a focus on pancakes — there are a dozen variants including bacon pancakes and even a baked German version. If you don’t want pancakes there are plenty of egg dishes, combinations, a whole page of specials and even crepes and blintzes. I ordered a special which was basically scrambled eggs and ham, served with fruit and potato pancakes for…$ 5.99. Serious bargain, people — the ham scrambler at George Webbs is north of $ 8 these days. Better yet, my breakfast was really good — everything was well cooked and not greasy. Even their potato pancakes were above average which surprised me. Service was good too — our server seemed to know many people by name, which is always a good sign. Definitely looking forward to a return visit here!

Arrived at 11:03am and it was busy! We were put on a waiting list, but were skipped because they accidentally crossed us off… Our party of 3 were seated at a small table, whereas parties of 2 were seated at large booths. I don’t understand the logic in their seating arrangements. After 5 mins, we were finally asked if we wanted anything to drink. Another waiter had to bring our coffee because our waitress was lingering at other tables. It’s now 11:43 and we’re waiting for our food. 11:57 and we were finally served. Food was fine. Tasted alright and the price was average. The waffle came with too much whipped cream though. It made the waffle soggy. Overall the service was okay. I will be coming back. It’s decent food for a decent price.

First we waited 15 to 20 minutes to be seated. The amount of people waited blowed my mind. The thought i had was; if its that many people waiting, this most be a good place to be. While waiting, i viewed alot of people picking up to go orders. As far as the waiting room, its small, so it was beyond cramped. But people were willing to withstand all that to get a seat. Nice portions, fast pleasant service… request George as a server he is awesome. This will definitely be a go to place for breakfast for my family

Yum! I went here today for the first time(so 11 am on a Thursday). There was about a 3 minute wait so not a problem, but I could see there being a longer wait on the weekend. I ordered the strawberry french toast and it was pretty good. What was even better were the pancakes. They were so fluffy. The order came with three huge ones. They had a lot of options for the pancakes, french toast, and crepes. The orange juice was very fresh and great. I will definitely be back.

Good stuff… not great stuff but good stuff. My eggs Benedict with corned beef hash were riding on soggy muffins. An order of crabby eggs Benedict revealed«sea legs» fake crab. But people were happy with the pancakes and the crepes. Portions are VERY generous. Service is friendly and attentive. Cholula hot sauce on the table… Well played!

Maxfields is my «go to» when I have serious breakfast hunger and I want big fluffy pancakes without feeling too heavy. The waitstaff is always nice and there’s usually a hostess or staff member that will seat you with no problem. I had a craving for Tapito sauce with my eggs for some reason and the waitress brought it out right away. Just know they have tons of choices and want to get your order in right away. The Brown Deer or this location is great as well. But, there’s a cupcakes not far away(Valentines day thought…) Nice pick to meet a friend and no too distracting, and try the«fresh squeezed» OJ if your into that. Getting hungry just thinking about again and I just ate.

This place is very hard to find. In is not really on the main road but back by the Starbucks. It is worth the trip. Surprisingly large when it looks so small from the outside. Fresh squeezed orange juice. Pleasant surprise. They have baked pancakes, crepes, pancakes of all kinds. Truly a plethora or options. All for a very reasonable price. I got the two egg, two blueberry pancake option for 8 dollars. I got the egg omelette style and picture is attached. Two very large pancakes also were delivered. Picture attached. The pancakes are«Cakey» or cake like with a slight crunch on the outside. Very tasty. I was the only client for the 30 minutes or so that I was there at 6:30 in the morning. My hotel cost 20.00 yesterday for breakfast and I did not get anywhere near this amount or taste or quality. This place is definitely worth the trip and effort to find it.

Food was delicious and service great. Enjoyed one of their combos, which gave me a taste of everything. I’ll be back to try the Eggs Benedict.

This place is a total gem. I am always looking for solid breakfast joints in tosa, but honestly didn’t expect much other than a typical diner experience, stopping in for a quick breakfast after my doctors appt. Mari was an absolutely amazing waitress and the chorizo and eggs was super delicious. Don’t expect much with the coffee other than a full cup and typical breakfast coffee though. Starbucks is across the street if you are picky. There appear to be a lot of regulars and the staff knows them by name. The whole vibe here is really positive. You can’t go wrong!

This is a great place for a weekend breakfast. Menu has everything under the sun that you might want for breakfast. If they are busy, the wait is always short and the staff is very friendly. Prices are right too! I’d take this over Denny’s or IHOP any day.

This place is great; I come here at least once a week to get paperwork done on my days off, and it’s never been a disappointment. I ask for Jorge and he does a great job! Attentive, but not overbearing, and keeps your coffee cup filled. Overall great place!

Best breakfast place in Milwaukee! My sister is a picky eater, but she loved the pancakes here. I usually get the skillets. Not the absolute best I’ve had, but they are still very tasty. Also, their hash is much better than their roasted potatoes.

Went here with a hangover, and it was pretty good. Service was nice, so that helped ease away my headache from even getting out of bed. The server looked new, but she was friendly and attentive. Noticed that they had regulars come into the establishment. It was cool seeing them personally interact with everyone. The food was good too. Large portions for breakfast from what I saw my boyfriend order — corned beef hash. Thank goodness I only ordered the Addictive Delight, which was just 3 stacks of chocolate chip pancakes smeared with creamy peanut butter. The pancakes seemed more savory than sweet, so I loaded it with syrup to satisfy my sweet tooth. Very fulfilling breakfast and nice staff to make you start your day off right on vacation.

This place has one of the largest menus I’ve ever seen. It’s a classic Greek diner so you expect tons of choices but Maxfield’s even by Greek standars raises the bar with options. I like to get the Banana Split waffle because I feel like I’m three years old when they bring it to the table. It’s a banana split, ice cream and all the other stuff including syrup on top of a waffle! They also have a bacon waffle with bacon cooked into the waffle. For lunch their sammie with roasted lamb on a French roll is incredible. It’s a cross between Gryos and a Philly Cheesesteak sammie. Yeah, don’t plan on starting your latest diet if you come here. They do have healthy options but given the choice of an ultimate grilled cheese or the special diet plate, come on which one will you choose? Friendly service and it’s clean, bathrooms and all(I checked for you). Nice place in southern WI. They have two locations in the area but I think their menus are identical. Coffee is decent but if you are a coffee snob you won’t think so.

I’m saying it now– Greek breakfast places are the best. They have soo many choices whether you’re in the mood for breakfast or lunch. The menu is a novel and picking JUSTONE thing is a task often too overwhelming for me. My go-to order is the Greek skillet(FANTASTIC) and a side of chocolate chip pancakes(because who can resist??). The service is always great and fast, which is good because your mouth will be watering as soon as you look at the menu.

This place is close to home, so we decided to try it. Boy, oh boy, we’re we in for a happy belly! Great portion, enough to have left over to take home and eat when the stomach gets bored. Western omelet, strawberry and blueberry crepes were AMAZING! last but not least, the pancakes. A little piece of heaven in the belly. What I also like about it, short waiting time. Go eat here, I promise you will thank me:)#theeater#foodlover

3 stars for food +1 star for fresh OJ and excellent service. We enjoyed our late breakfast here. He had cherry crepes and I had the buckwheat pancakes. The crepes were quite good. It was light and moist and the cherries were juicy and delicious — not the gelatinous pie filling you find in many places. The pancakes were just ok. Maybe my expectations were super high because Pancake is in the name. Or maybe I’m just super particular about my cakes. These were a thick and fluffy, I prefer mine thinner with crisp edges. The fresh squeezed OJ was wonderful. Service was great. Our cups were never empty and food came out quickly, but not so quickly that you’d wonder whether it was pre-made, sitting under a heat lamp.

This hits somewhere in between a four and a five, but I had to bump it up just for a stellar, all-around service. The breakfast here is incredible. We were seated immediately and given menus. There were a lot of good choices and my wife and I couldn’t figure out what we wanted to eat. We sent the waitress back since we couldn’t decide, and when she came back the second time she told us we could substitute the pancakes for just about anything, but there would be an upcharge. This made our decision making process much easier and we put in our order right there. I have to commend this place on their stellar service. We walked in about thirty minutes before they closed, which I didn’t realize since Unilocal had the hours listed incorrectly. We were seated and given plenty of time to order without being rushed. I was offered coffee refills multiple times during my meal and even after I finished and we were never rushed at all. Needless to say when I found out we were still sitting there thirty minutes after they closed, I was very impressed. I ordered the Hawaii Five-O omelette, along with hash browns and the Strawberry Belgium Waffle. I am loving this omelette! Monterey Jack cheese, bacon, ham and pineapple. This was the perfect cheesy balance, with plenty of meat and fresh pineapple. My wife ordered the Garden of Eatin’ omelette and also commented on how a lot of the ingredients tasted fresh, which is usually not commonplace for a pancake house. The waffle was incredible. Perfectly cooked, with just a hint of vanilla in the batter. Again, fresh cut strawberries in a little syrup topped it, not the mushy strawberries in compote you get at most pancake houses. We got my kid a egg and bacon kids meal that came with a pancake. My two year old doesn’t eat sweets(weird, right? I wonder how long that’s going to last). I had it and it was good but there was something off about it. I’ll save judgement until I get a full stack. The hash browns were pretty average but it really didn’t take away from the overall meal. I’ll be returning very soon.
