My bridal shower was held in the private room upstairs and everything was fantastic! Food was good, the space is excellent — I’m a fan! Thank you to everyone at 61 Local who was part of the execution!

I came in excited about the experience and I wasn’t greeted. Bad service. Food is mediocre. Staff and management are rude. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I love this place. Coffee is good. Breakfast is amazing and atmosphere is buzzing! At night turns from a coffee bar to a bar bar with a great beer and wine list. Good wifi also

Great space. I often come here to study. The staff is friendly and the food is fantastic: I’ve never ordered a dish I didn’t like. My only caveat: a(surprisingly) large number of patrons feel that it is appropriate to conduct conference calls and Skype meetings in the venue(without using headphones). I wish Local 61 would enforce some sort of policy with regard to etiquette(though they do implement a no-laptop policy during weekend brunch hours).

61 Local has a great space — high ceilings, nice light during the day. I like the communal tables as well. Their food is only okay — a little sloppy and gloppy. The wine list is good and — while expensive — the pours are generous. But their policy of no-laptops on weekends is absurd if people are actually ordering food and high-margin items like wine, beer, etc. They should institute a similar policy for all of the parents with little, disruptive children who don’t order anything. I’ve seen the waitstaff ask laptopped people with plates of food to move to another area to make room for people who are just chatting over cold, 2-hour-old tea. Part of me likes the very democratic way they approach the business, but I then worry about the business.

I’m from Seattle. I love coffee. I like it when people get all pretentious about coffee… it makes me smile. Because I LOVECOFFEE. SO, when I happened upon this place(introduced to me by my buddy Michael), I was really happy. Expensive coffee from exotic places. Place is super cute, good natural lighting– if this was in Seattle, I’d come here all the time. Coffee.

Great cappuccino and great vibes. I love these hybrid café work spaces. I liked this one just a lil more than the Brooklyn Roasting Company by the Manhattan Bridge… sorry BRC.

Ambience is pretentious hipster. Food is good and so is the beer list. No buybacks after 8 beers, which is a thing in Brooklyn. I’ll gladly take my business elsewhere as there are many options which hit me in the wallet less. Buybacks mean much bigger tips and also more local business.

I really like this place whether it’s getting coffee and working, grabbing a bite to eat, or a beer from their extensive selection. It is a pretty open space and the atmosphere is quite nice. The wifi is decent, although it can quickly get crowded with people working on their laptops. They also have a vegan burger, which is pretty good. And at night, it is sometimes hit or miss whether it is really crowded or not, but I’m a fan of their drink selection.

Spent $ 55 including tip for 2 sandwiches and 4 beers. 5 minutes from the Cobble Hill movie theater. Good date night combo. Surprisingly very good. I say surprisingly because at first glance it looks like a hipster haven and I feared pretentious mediocrity. There was a CSA market there on a Tuesday night. I was like«Oh boy, brace yourself…» But, the beet burger was very good. Stayed together well, tasty, flavorful. The beet flavor was certainly prominent but not overwhelming. Served with a very generous portion of Cape Cod style chips. The Reuben was also apparently very good. The wine prices keep it from 5 stars. I’m not spending $ 11 or $ 12 for a glass of wine. I can get a bottle for that. Organic whatever whatever whatever, it’s too expensive for a glass of wine. There was, however, a $ 4 lager. Picnic style seating. You’ll be seated with strangers, which can make having a private conversation hard, but I suppose that’s why we have homes. You are in public after all. Quick service. Friendly staff. I’d go back.

Great pub and atmosphere(lots of space), with excellent beer too! Bartenders are probably a little too hip for their own good though. Definitely going back.

61 Local is my jam. It’s got a relaxed vibe and great service. They serve local beers and wine on tap — no bottles. No liquor(save for their house-made vermouth). Their food menu is large and interesting. The bartenders are attentive and nice. They host tons of events in their very-cool upstairs event space. What’s not to love?

Large space with picnic tables as seating. When we arrived, my friend and I were one of the few people there. Low lighting and candlelight abounded. I ordered the three kale salad, with the dressing on the side. It was fine, nothing crazy to write home about. My friend seemed to enjoy her pork tacos though very much. Overall enjoyed the ciders most! Two on tap, nice and tart.

Went to this place 2 or 3 times while studying for the bar exam. It’s not bad but they could use some work. Pros: lots of space, free WiFi, good coffee Cons: a couple of unfriendly staff members, wifi sucks, and people love to take up extra tale room the don’t need and the outlets to charge their 82 devices

The beer list and menu are winners. Interesting local foods and assortment of craft beers. On the flip side, the place does not feel like a bar. It’s a different concept. The place feels cavernous, lacks decoration. Popping in on the weekend, I found the bank lap top users a major turn-off, feels like a work station in an office. If I’m going out to drink, eat and socialize, I don’t want to be reminded of work. The space is wide with high ceilings, it has tremendous potential to create a really interesting atmosphere that would make me want to drink and linger– think lounge. The laptop zombies and picnic tables is a bit too basic for me. I was bar hopping and would have stayed for at least another round, because of the beer selection, but the bleakness made me move on.

I enjoyed this place. Tons of craft beers to choose from, water with cups that you can refill on your own, long communal tables, a very industrial-like interior. What’s not to like?! Beer prices are fair and they also offer food, however, we went elsewhere for the latter. I really liked how laid back it was on an early summer evening. The bartenders are also very nice and don’t rush you to choose a beer the second you get to the bar.

This is a chill place. Was at a local expo at the Marriott Brooklyn Bridge and wanted to grab lunch at a craft pub. Saw that 61Local wasn’t too far of a walk. Out of the sun, this place was cool(temp-wise). Looked like it was lit by natural light. It was also quiet, because people were working here; many with their apple laptops using the free wifi. The bar was simple in design and is where you order your food and drinks. They had a decent list of craft beers and you can also get a flight for $ 3 each. Had the Starchild Sour(grapefruit) Ale, Black Gold Stout(nitrous), St Stusan Belgian Blond(too much bubblegum flavor), and Victor Belgian Strong Ale. The food was standard but fresh and locally sourced. I had the Reuben on pretzel bread. Never had pretzel bread, but it was delicious especially with the spicy pickle. Definitely would recommend if you want to work and drink beer.

Awesome food in a very relaxed environment. You walk in and you see a juice/tea bar with a little bit of drinks. The overwhelming big tables seem a little intimidating because of the shared communal eating concept, but it’s actually very warming and inviting when you actually sit down and have your meal. They even have an event space to accommodate bigger groups. The food here was excellent & and their teas as well. I had a lavender/hibisques loose tea, and I just wish the cup was bigger for me to enjoy it. My husband had the veggie beet burger which he said was delicious. It came with a side of little sweet potatoes crunches. I had pulled pork tacos and they were delicious. The slaw was a little too sour for my taste, but that could just be me. Overall, I would definitely come back here for lunch, or a work date with my laptop and a good tea.

I really don’t know how I haven’t reviewed 61 Local. I go there a couple times a month, and it’s always excellent. Great selection of beer(including the amazing Other Half) and really, really good food. Food is a little pricey but everything is local(how appropriate, given their name), so you can indulge your inner-yuppie by supporting the nearby purveyors of fine edible goods. Service is always excellent and all the employees are SO nice. Charcuterie, cheese, Middle Eastern plate… all things you can’t go wrong with. I think we got the suasage last time and it was excellent! They also have great iced coffee(on tap) that you’d be a fool for not trying. Coffee, pastry, booze, dinner… it’s a one-stop-shop, and 61 Local does it right.
