If I could give just the donuts and finger food five stars I would. The donuts are CRAZY good. Breakfast and finger foods are good. Everything else is just… Not good. Including the coffee. Ordered a wrap that was really not good and got it switched for a tuna melt. Something super simple. My sandwich was mostly slaw and very little actual tuna. And it was cold, only the bread was even a bit warm. Definitely disappointed because I think a diner should really have tasty simple sandwiches and coffee. But I got a donut after and it made up for it. So come for donuts.

Enjoy going to this restaurant almost everyday. It is open 24⁄7. Whether it be breakfast, lunch or dinner there is always a good selection of fresh food to eat. Tuesday’s are a favorite with their delicious brisket sandwiches or platters. On other days, there are huevos rancheros for brunch, delicious burritos, selection of omelettes, chicken souvlaki, pasta dishes, salmon, or just about anything you may desire to eat can be prepared. Service is superb and Manager Teddy is always there to meet and greet, ready to answer any questions that customers may have.

OMG… My sis introduced me to this diner on Thursday and ALL dishes that we ordered were so flavorful(especially the grilled chicken)…Not like any typical diner. Price was reasonable and open 24 hour is a plus.

I’ve ordered late night donuts from here as a delicious and dangerous comfort food. Always prompt — really sweet people too. But I want to tell a story here: My classmate and friend Jacob died and I’m on my way to a memorial gathering for our graduate program. Before, Jacob would go back and forth between hard design work at school and his hometown for treatment and rest. He would always bring back a couple dozen of these speciality delicious donuts to school from a family bakery in his town two hours away. At his funeral his family served them. Jacob’s love for these donuts was famous. While planning this school memorial I even called this far off bakery to see if we could get them specially shipped. Nah. Today I picked up a large order of donuts and decided to ask the owner on the off chance he would customize some cinnamon rolls with a mix of chocolate and vanilla frosting. He had been listening to the story the whole time and then when I explained about the special donuts. He quietly agreed and I showed him a picture of the original special donut from Jacob’s hometown. He took a look, nodded, and despite a busy diner he whipped up the customization. They look so good and all I wish I could do is tell Jacob about this quick little design experiment — he would have liked the sense of play.

I have been coming here since I was a wee child. This place is honest: it is what it is. A true diner open 24⁄7 designed for everyone from the morning bird to the late night partier. The prices are amazing. The food is really cheap considering it is Park Slope. I don’t know how they make money. Most of the servers have been there for a long time, and the place has a well established culture. I go here mostly for breakfast, and the food is solid. Sometimes my meal has been a bit off the mark(like bagel not well toasted, buttered bagel instead of on the side, stuff like that), but overall, my food has been good. This is a no frills, authentic diner. Good stuff. Just go in knowing that and you’ll enjoy yourself. Oh yes, and Cash only.

This place is my all time favorite, idc I was born an raised eating this food. lMAO sad truth. My uncle should of been part owners of this place as much as they loved him an our family an as much as we where here. I grew up in this diner I even learned how to make my first pot of coffee with Freddy. I would go an work behind the counter an help give out checks to tables an then sit an eat hot chocolate an there amazing marble twist donuts. Ugh this place brings so much memories to my life as I bring my boys in as well to make Freddy crazy as I did as a kid lol. There open 24 hours an the food is amazing, very authentic diner food great cheeseburgers deluxe’s great breakfast platters an seriously there sausages are so big an juicy an perfect an their donuts are out of this world delicious. If you haven’t been here your missing out.

My kid likes to pop in here and eat a donut on our way home. She has tried them all, sitting at the counter, happily, stickily, with lots of compliments. She was surprised, however, when she saw people in a booth eating soup and meatloaf sandwiches. «This is a RESTAURANT?» She asked, «Yes.» «Can we go here for FOOD?» I said, «Yes.» So we found ourselves in that booth the next weekend. The kid ordered chicken noodle soup and French toast. Fine specimens of both. The soup was homemade, with chunks of chicken, celery and carrots as well as noodles. The French toast had a lovely cinnamon batter and was crispy on the outside, never soggy. I had a cheeseburger and onion rings. The onion rings were crisp and golden and the onion didn’t slide out with every bite — a marvel. The burger was so good I found myself comparing it to the burgers at the wistfully closed Soup Burg on 77th and Lex. All in all, a high quality meal for much less than you would get at any of the«finer diners» nearby. And don’t forget the donuts!

Super friendly service. Good sized portions for reasonable prices. Food is pretty tasty — love the chorizo hash and the bacon is killer — but the breakfast items tend to be greasy. The donuts are good: not knock your socks off good but a step up from Dunkin Donuts and who wants to support a faceless chain store, anyway. If you could combine this place and Little Purity, you might have the perfect diner.

I work in the area over night so I don’t have many options for food. I’m usually skeptical about diners but I really enjoy this place for many things. Their coffee is really good. I also enjoy their portobello mushroom wrap, spinach salad, matzo ball soup, and their omelettes. The food always tastes fresh and the staff is nice. I have no complaints about this place. I will continue trying out things on the menu. Also their donuts are amazing especially when they are fresh, so much better than dunkin!

For some of us(especially if you sometimes work at night), the 3am meal is far more important than the 3pm brunch. And for«the city that never sleeps» well, let me tell you… that doesn’t include the vast majority of our food purveyors. After living in this general vicinity of Brooklyn for many years, I’m still amazed at the dearth of late night food options nearby. Don’t believe me? Seriously, just open up that Seamless app after a late night of drinking and see how many options(if any) pop up. This place delivers(literally and figuratively) diner staples well at a very reasonable price — terrific omelettes, solid club sandwiches, decent burger. At non late-night times, they have an incredibly generous lunch special — soup, entrée, coffee or tea and donut for about $ 10 — it’s delightful — great food at a price I haven’t seen in this city in years. Sure, I’ve asked for my french fries well done 4 times and gotten limp, undercooked fries 3 of those times, but, you know… at least they didn’t make the lazy diner move of just making home fries — which we all know is an unforgivable cardinal sin. The place seems clean and the service friendly and efficient(not only because the late night counter guy and I banter about the Mets for 15 minutes while my food is prepared, but that certainly helps). Which brings me to my most important point… they are open 24⁄7! So look, I love you Unilocal, but don’t F this up for me, OK? You know who you are… gazing a down from the 7th Avenue Dount Shop on a sunny afternoon and seeing the gourmet beacon of Talde a mere two blocks from this greasy spoon and turning up your noses and down your thumbs(or your stars). Not every establishment in Brooklyn needs to be a culinary trailblazer — sometimes you don’t want a 5 course tasting menu dinner, or a heritage pork & swiss chard benedict brunch. You just want a giant omelette with greasy fries, and a nice, scalding hot(non-sourced) cup of coffee. Or, at least, I do. So if you sometimes work late at night, or if once in a very rare while you might be the type to stay at a bar until they politely tell you that you have to leave, well… on these occasions, its nice to have some tasty, comforting food options thereafter. Of potentially dubious health benefits, sure, but… when you’re up at 4am, health is kind of already out the window. I appreciate this charming institution for what it is, and hope it thrives here long after some of the showier neighborhood options fade.

«THEOWNERHIMSELFMADETHEORDER, THEREWASNOCHEESE, ANDTHEREWASNOTHINGWRONGWITHTHEFOOD.» I don’t know what’s more preposterous: the fact that the«owner» stood by the slop that left the restaurant and was delivered to me, or the fact that they refused to refund my money. I placed an order via grubhub for a vegetable omelette with a snapple and a redbull. The order came up to almost twenty dollars. My order arrived surprisingly fast, but I wasn’t about to complain because I was starving. I immediately noticed a weird aftertaste. I also tasted a trace of cheddar cheese which was pretty disturbing because that meant that they didn’t bother to clean whatever grill they used before they prepared my omelette. What if I was lactose intolerant?! I was starving, so I thought maybe having a bite of toast and adding some salt and pepper would make it better. It made it worse. The toast I received had a chunk of butter in the center of the two slices, and it wasn’t even spread. If it was spread, it was probably done half assed. I had two co-workers try some of the omelette after me to see if maybe it was just me tasting something off, and they both agreed. One of them even thought that it had an old taste to it. I complained to grubhub, who of course reached out to the restaurant. How does this place have decent reviews?

If you order online(seamless ets) keep in mind that it will take them additional 30 – 40 min to deliver(plus the estimate that seamless gave you) be prepared to wait 1.5−2 hours(if you are near by in brooklyn) for your food. thumbs down. never. again.

The decent coconut-dusted apple-filled($ 1.25) was cheap as far as donuts go these days but more than I expected(cash only not surprising).

My one hundredth review simply had to be the Donut Shop. When we lived in the Slope, i cannot tell you how many mornings started off with a donut and coffee on the way to the F train. As our girls grew, we would stop here after ice or roller skating in Prospect Park for hot chocolate or ice cold chocolate milk and a donut or a hamburger and fries. The girls are grown. We’ve moved to Georgia. But the Donut Shop is ALWAYS on the itinerary when we come home to visit. It’s not just the memories; it’s the friendly staff, the good food and, most of all, the marble twists. When I traveled to NY on business, I would sooner come home without pants than without two dozen marble twists for my wife. When the girls come to vidit, they have the same standing order. This NY staple is unknown here and sorely missed. The twists get lovingly wrapped and frozen, taken out one at a time to be savored along with the memories that arise.

Their donuts taste like Dunkin Donuts donuts, except their donuts are slightly bigger donuts. Donuts. Not terrible, but not great either.

Typical Brooklyn dinner coffee shop. I pass this place on my way to work everyday and have been enticed by the sign advertising donuts. I sat down for an old fashioned and a cup of coffee. The total was ~$ 4. I came in around 7:15AM and this place was not busy which for me was kind of nice to be able to sit at the bar in a quite place. They have a nice assortment of fresh donuts and would make you breakfast upon request. The waitress was good about refreshing my coffee. The old fashioned was a bit greasy for my taste. It left that weird discomforting grease film in my mouth which wasn’t great but what do you expect from a deep fried piece of sugar dough. Friends have told me not to go here because of cleanliness issues but I did not notice anything alarming. The restroom was actually well maintained. I would stop here again.

I stopped in at late night. Got a jelly donut. It was ok, tasted like jelly came from a cheap jar. However, maybr i got the wrong thing. I will say the dough had a good texture and decent taste. Coffee was good.

Is it safe to judge a place based on their donut alone… I SAYYES!!! 7th ave donuts is my GO-TO donut shop. I bring a dozen or two here and there to parties, get togethers, etc and EVERYONE wonders where I got them!!! Here my friends, here is where those amazing donuts come from. I personally recommend the«jelly puff» donut. If you like a little bit of crisp with a doughy inside filled with jelly. I HIGHLYRECOMMENDTHIS. It’s a little bit of heaven in every bite. Everyone is friendly here– even got a free donut the other day ON top of getting a baker’s dozen hehe. There are MANY articles written on this place (ie: Thrillist– ) and recommendations to go. and I think you should too! P. S. This place is cash only folks.

I’ve been coming to this classic neighborhood diner for years, 7th ave donughts is a good spot to get breakfast, lunch or dinner 24 hours a day. I’ve mostly came in for their classic diner style American breakfast. They are one of the many few places in the neighborhood who are open 24 hours a day, which is perfect for late night delivery. In fact they are one of the very few classic diner style joints left in Brooklyn. They do have pretty good Donuts, for less then $ 10 you get a whole dozen of freshly baked donuts. Delivery is Always quick and staff is always friendly. Can I get eggs over easy with sausage home fries and toast?

Super slow service here. I came in on a week night at 8pm and seated myself. My group waited and waited for a menu to come but it never came, we ended up getting our own menus from the counter because the waitress wasn’t attentive. There weren’t even a lot of customers in the store… The booths are also quite small, a lot of the booths are designed for 3 people seating. After getting our own menus, the waitress waited forever to realize we didn’t have water and didn’t notice that we were missing a set of utensils until I asked for it after the food came. It was unbelievable how inattentive the waitress was, we basically self served ourselves. This place might as well advertise itself as a fast food establishment if i had to go up to the counter to order my food. The food was good though, we ordered a few burgers and the disco fries. Turkey burger was moist and flavorful. The burgers were a bit overcooked, we asked for medium rare but it came out medium well. The disco fries were great, good gravy and not overly salty. I most likely wouldn’t come back here after experiencing such poor service from the wait staff… for god sakes… the restaurant was practically empty!
