This pizza is lame. To put it nicely. I have better dollar pizza in Manhattan. If you are going to charge 3.75 a slice it better be good. If you are going to charge 3.75 a slice in BK that better be awesome. The crust is bland, the pizza tastes like cardboard.

The Veggie pizza tasted terrible. Crust was not crusty and pieces to big.

So shocked to see all the bad reviews. I love this place, I’ve been going here since I was a kid. The staff is super friendly and the prices are cheap!

It’s not good pizza. Rubbery and soggy and left me feeling gross even after I mopped up the neon orange grease that dripped off of it. Oh and they got my order wrong and sent me a pizza with pepperoni instead of peppers. Gross.

Nice tiny, clean place. Got a plain slice($ 2.50). It’s a very good size, very filling. Not greasy, and the crust is really good.

This pizza is not good. Unfortunately its one of the only places open very late on weekend nights… so when its time for drunk eating, Bergen Pizza does the job. The crust is more like thick chewy garlic bread… and when I say garlic I mean A LOT of raw and crushed garlic, and the cheese is also very thick. Its not that the pizza is bad, its just not typical NY tasting pizza.

Walked in after an exhausting and hot search for housing with my broker. 1st off I checked Unilocal and it had some bad reviews. Not always trusting reviews I read some and was not impressed with the quality of the reviews I decided to chance this place. 1st off no AC meaning it is HOT. Pizza looked about 2.5 — 3.0 stars so I decided to checkout extended menu. WOW… it was huge and in a bad way as I’m skeptical of large menus because quality is often compromised. As a fan of eggplant parmesian, I saw the«Rolled Eggplant» or Eggplant Rolatini on then menu. I asked in an upbeat way, «is the eggplant fresh?». The guy looked confused and I had to ask twice more. He responded hesitantly with a yes. Not instilled with confidence I observed them prepare it. It was clear that the guy(1of4) had never made it before. I then observed them pulled out what looked liked prefried batter dipped eggplant slices and create the dish. I was immediately skeptical of the quality, but I was still will to give the final dish a chance. I added onions to mix and the guy happily satisfied my request, a good positive showing around the establishments improv skills. While I waited, oldies Mexican radio was playing which gave it a loose, cheap, but enjoyable lively atmosphere. The tables and chairs were polished cherry stained oak, solid clean and definitely 4+ star. No fountain drinks, but they happily refilled my water bottle with cold tap which was great. 4:30pm and the place was pretty empty. I could see this place do well in the cool fall and winter times. About 10 minutes later the dish came out a piping hot, slightly oversauced and lightly greasy mess but definitely appetizing after not eating the whole day. Gave some piping hot bread in foils too.

I’ve been here at some point after a late night jaunt into Prospect Heights. Getting a single slice of cheese pizza that I probably didn’t need. It’s nothing special and its nothing nasty. I think a slice was around $ 3.25; so also a little bit pricier than I would like for something cheap and not great quality. I probably wouldn’t come back unless there was nothing else open late at night in the neighborhood. I pushed it from my initial 3 to 2 stars just because its very cardboardy and the taste of the cheese just not memorable enough.

Somehow worse than your average Latin-American slave labor pizza joint. Flavors are bland, garlic knots come out with raw centers, pizza dough scraps are deep-fried and sold as zeppole. It’s just a cheap pizza place, but still!

We ordered through GrubHub from this place because they have awesomely specific menu options for toppings on the Bergen Pizza page. You can choose what toppings you want on the left side, right side, or the whole pie. As I’m quite choosey about my toppings this was great. Only when the pizza arrived, the toppings were laid out wrong, which is odd considering how clear our choices were laid out. So I called the establishment and told them they made the order incorrectly and instead of apologizing and asking how they could remedy the situation, a very brusque man shouted at me very fast something I couldn’t make out. I told him exactly what was wrong, and what the order should have been, and he said he tried to call us. We missed the call but I’m not sure why he would have needed to if he looked at our order, all the toppings were on the pie, just in the wrong places. Again, no apology, no «what can I do to fix this.» Instead, he was belligerent with me while I explained simply how the order was supposed to come, all the while talking very fast like he was trying to get me off the phone. I don’t know how long this would have gone on with him yelling at me but eventually *I* had to suggest he send me 4 new slices(since it was my half of the pizza that was really wrong) and didn’t want to wait for a whole other pie. He said ok and we got the second order. At least it arrived quickly? Either way, I won’t be ordering from them again. Customer service is an important part of business, being rude to customers when you’re in the wrong is a sure way to lose patrons.

Incredibly blasé pizza. Soft, mushy crust; sub-par cheese; flavorless sauce. Will not order here again.

I usually don’t like going into places with bright lights but that’s another story. I took a chance and walked in… I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the linguine with white clam sauce and a few appetizers. The staff was very friendly even though english wasn’t their first language. After telling them that i just moved into the neighborhood I was told.“Welcome to the area… take a soda, it’s on us”…WOW. I now order from their online website,

I sometimes get a slice while walking home from work. It’s nowhere near the best pizza I’ve ever had in the city, but it’s also nowhere near the worst. I think it’s worth it. Staff is very friendly, and I like the bench outside.

I had friends in town and we wanted a good pizza to bring to the backyard to eat with a bottle of Chianti in candlelight. Stopped by Bergen pizza last night and didn’t recognize the place since the last time I was there over a year ago… anyway…we ordered a large pie with fresh mozzarella, onion and garlic. We picked up the pizza, the guy working behind the counter showed it to us it looked beautiful and he even put fresh bail leaves on it took it home and with a bottle Chianti experienced the VERYBESTPIZZA I HAVEHADINBROOKLYNIN A LOOOOONGTIME! Purposefully avoiding Franny’s overpriced, over attitude scene this Bergen pizza pie was absolute perfection. I have a sensitivity to wheat crust and I have to say the true test for a good pizza is if when the crust gets cold you can still eat it… this crust was like french bread crust, edible even when cold and much better quality than Gino’s across the street. The guys who run the joint are super nice… the place just had a nice vibe about it. I will never get pizza anywhere else except at Bergen Pizza!

I’m being conservative because I haven’t tired Gino’s or many of the other options in the Heights/Slope area. Have eaten 3 – 4 times here though and was impressed, far better than Antonio’s down Flatbush a bit more. Good ‘ol fashioned NYC pizza. Big pieces, fair prices. Surprised most folks didn’t like it – I’d say a 4 is almost warranted. Far better than your«average» slice.

The pizza from Bergen is inedible. Zero flavor with a cardboard-like crust. And it’s such a bummer, because it’s right down the street from me, and the guys are super nice, and they just renovated so the place is clean and up-to-date. It used to be Michael’s Pizza, and they actually had some Italian guys making the pies, and they were pretty good. But he sold in early 2010, and it’s just terrible now. Go to Gino’s across Flatbush, very legit.
