No lie it was delicious. For what it offers its a little too pricey. I would go back more if there were specials. If money is no option, the take out was fast and they make a mean sandwich

I really wanted to like this place, but the sandwich was pretty tasteless and poorly conceived. Who puts a shrimp po boy on a pretzel roll?

The sandwiches were satisfyingly good(cheesesteak sandwich, Reuben was okay), but the portion was smaller than anticipated. Overall the place is nice but a little pricey for the amount of food that you get.

This place was so cool! I was at school today and I was looking for a lunch joint and I’m glad I stumbled upon Boomwich. Its in a tiny sunken storefront, not much seating, but the food is great and the service was fantastic. I ordered the turkey BLT at the counter. It was served on a pretzel roll with their house roasted turkey and avocado as well; that made it super unique. They offered free refills on all sodas and they also checked in on us while we were eating to ask if everything is okay; I don’t know of many counter service places that do that. I found out they deliver so maybe I’ll save myself the trip next time and order to campus. Yum!

It was hard to decide which sandwich to get. Finally decided on the BBQ brisket. I never had mac n cheese on a sandwich before, but it did taste good with the sauce and meat. Their house made chips are pretty good too. Free refills on soda. They have wifi, although don’t tell the laptop mafia that;) No space for a large campout:) The guys at the counter are extremely friendly and pleasant. I liked how Boomwich was written in several different ways throughout the restaurant. As an added bonus, they have discounts fore police and firefighters. What an awesome way to support the community!

First time at Boomwich and it was a great experience! They take classic sandwiches, add modern twists onto them, and slap a pretzel roll bun on them which compliments the sandwiches well. I ordered the cajun chicken fajita which had just enough kick to it with a great balance of ingredients. Something that was not on the online menu but which I loved was the homemade chips at $ 3 for a medium sized cup. It seems to be root vegetables too(my best guess is sweet potato & potato) as opposed to pure potato chips. I highly recommend Boomwich if you’re in the area!

After being lured by multiple pictures of their food on Instagram, the boy and I came here for a late lunch. I was really interested in trying their specials(specifically the chorizo or meatball subs) but settled with the cubano. The boy ordered the chicken fajita along with the mac & cheese and the lychee lemonade. He must have had an appetite cause he added the homemade chips and pickle to our meal. We loved the lychee lemonade along with the cubano. The cubano was meaty and was perfect with the dijonaise sauce. The lychee lemonade had a real lychee in it, and was a well balanced refreshing drink. Boy loved the mac and cheese which was super cheesy. The chicken fajita was a little too dry for our liking and we immediately regretted not ordering the bbq brisket or reubenese… Well…there’s always next time!

Came in to pick up a few sandwiches on a Sunday night. The girl at the register was extremely nice and friendly. I told her it was my first time there so she helped me make my choices. I ordered the«Dr Cubano», the«cheesesteak», and the«BBQ Brisket». I also got a large side of Mac and cheese. The sandwiches were ready fairly quickly and still warm when I got home about 20 min later. Each sandwiches was good in its own way. My favorite was probably the cheesesteak because it has a spicy kick to it. The pretzel buns are also a great contribution. The Mac and cheese was good too especially the onion topping. It was a little pricy for the size but since the quality is good I’ll probably be back to try the others.

Very friendly staff — we got some samples of their upcoming additions like mozerella sticks and onion rings. Lychee lemonade: light and refreshing ~ with a real lychee at the bottom! Cheese steak: not too heavy — It was filled with cheese, jalapeños & fire Cheetos! Chorizo: fits the traditional Mexican ingredients in a chorizo torta 4 cheese mac: 3 stars, tasted similar to Kraft

Update: 12.28.15 Original review has been updated to reflect 3 stars. Peter Entner, the owner, has reached out to me. He has apologized for the mistakes by his staff and for not calling me back, owned responsibility, and has since made numerous efforts to improve the service. These efforts include having a secondary line installed into the office so there aren’t any missed calls, retraining front of house staff on customer service skills, and inviting me back to experience the enhancements to his operation. I appreciate the time and money he has spent to make these improvements, and look forward to continuing to enjoy the tasty new menu. — — – There are three parts to an apology: 1. I’m sorry 2. It’s my fault. 3. What can I do to make it better? Two weeks ago I came to Boomwich on my lunch break. My intention was to pick up an order after placing it via phone, but I tried to call for over an hour and every time was placed on hold for minutes at a time and nobody ever came back. Eventually the phone was taken off of the hook. I tried to place an order online, but the menu was not up-to-date with some of the delicious products I had come to know and love. So, I walked over there expecting it to be a chaotic mess, because of course, they couldn’t pick up the phone. The result? Just a few people in line. Hardly what I was expecting. Placed my order and was left waiting, and waiting, and waiting. I then decided to do an experiment and tried to call the store. A woman picked up the phone and said, «Boomwich please hold,» and then just put the phone down. Wow. So, I’m still waiting for my food. And my 30-minute break now is over. I ask where my food is several points, and they say they are working on it. Delivery orders(hey, how’d those people get delivery orders?) were piling up. A man comes from downstairs and they haven’t even started the wontons. A few minutes later the food comes out. At this point I’m going to go back to work and have two options: 1. Apologize to my boss for being late and ask my boss if I can take an extra 10 minutes to scarf down my food. 2. Hope that my warm sandwich and s’more wontons don’t get soggy. I went for option 1 and was denied because what should have been 30-minutes turned into 40-minutes, so my soggy food that I paid almost $ 20 for was thrown out at the end of my shift and I was left a little pissed. I wasn’t going to write this review. I called and spoke to the manager and explained. He, being a great guy, went for the first two parts of an apology. He said he was sorry and that he owned it up to training that needed to happen. And for the 3rd part he said he’d leave my information for Peter E., the owner. A week went by and I didn’t hear, so I stopped in personally and spoke to the manager I had originally called. He said Peter was busy and that he had given my information and he would follow up. He asked if email was okay, and I said sure. I gave him my email and he said he’d follow up with an email between him, Peter, and myself. Never happened. So now two weeks, no response from the owner and false promises from the manager. It’s a shame because the food is good — I mean, it’s like a 3.5 out of 5 stars, but the service and response just brings it to a 1. I didn’t want to write a bad review; I tried to call, I personally stopped in, and offered feedback and was told I’d hear back. Nothing. So, Boomwich, ball is in your court.

Weird Mac & cheese with bright red junk & onion straws on top(not mentioned in menu description). Once you scrape that stuff off, it’s ok. Pretzel bread is the _only_option. Not my bag. Got turkey BLT. Turkey is fresh. Bacon fatty. Canned tomatoes. Bleh. Chips are Lays BBQ.

So I met this company thru a party they catered for where I was working. I had to serve their sandwiches. Let me tell you; I brought home every type of sandwich I could ! They are so delicious. My favorite is the buffalo chicken; however the Cubano, caprese and I can’t remember which else I took him is just as satisfying. Anyway a couple of months later my boss needed a rush caterer for a small group; I remembered these guys and I called em up for a order of 7 sandwiched cut in 3s. The guests loved the sandwiches so much; which made my boss look good — which made me look better lol. I’m here now on this Sunday; I’ve been feigning to come back

There are two reasons why you wouldn’t go to Boomwich and have teh TBLT. Maybe 3: 1) dietary restrictions 2) you just had one recently 3) you’re an idiot, and you don’t want to have the best turkey sandwich that has even been made. I can’t speak to much of their other food, because I have just tried bites. But this sandwich is really freaking good. They must be roasting the turkey there, probably the day before because most roast meat tastes better the next day, and then pulling it or cutting it into perfectly sized pieces for a sandwich. Oh yeah, and carefully seperating white and dark meat so they can make sure you get a pefect mix of both when they build your sandwich, on a pretzel roll – with just enough pretzellness. I enjoyed the nice quality field greens they used for lettuce too. Perfection.

Is there anything better than sandwiches? Rhetorical question. Nothing is better than sandwiches. At least for activities you can do with your pants on. I ordered the Dr. Cubano since the cool dude behind the counter said that was one of their most popular. It was an interesting take on a Cuban sandwich, but I didn’t really get too much Dr. Pepper taste. So much meat. Pork butt and country ham… it’s like they hate pigs! Or alternatively, they love pigs. Loved the melty provolone as well. I miss Nicky’s Vietnamese Sandwiches, but Boomwich is a worthy replacement!

Sandwiches were a bit smaller than I expected for the price. However, the Reubenee sandwich was definitely worth it — great combination of flavors. After we ordered/paid for the mac and cheese, they let us know they ran out and gave us the brussel sprouts instead(wasn’t a big fan of the brussel sprouts — just tasted mustardy). Then they came back and gave us some complimentary fried mac and cheese balls from the catering menu to try. Best mac and cheese balls I’ve ever had — too bad they don’t have it on their regular menu, I’d go back just for those.

BOOMwich is a cool hip-hop shop that offers creative sandwiches made by two awesome chefs, Peter & Michael. They transform classic favorites & add a gourmet twist by using their own house made ingredients in order to provide a very flavorful sammie. A great sandwich includes several important components: bread, meats, toppings, & spreads & BOOMwich did not disappoint. The DR. Cubano was juicy & the flavors were amazing. The magical ingredient that made the sandwich a hit was how the meat is prepared. The pork butt is roasted & marinated in Dr. Pepper, which makes the meat moist & tender. Other ingredients include country ham, provolone cheese, pickles, & a whole-grain dijonnaise spread served on a soft & warm pretzel bun. To wash this bad boy down, I had a Lychee Lemonade, which was sweet & refreshing. If you would like a side, BOOMwich has house made chips, bean salad, house slaw, & others so check out their menu. The environment is not too spacious but I was able to grab a table. I loved listening to old hip-hop tunes on their awesome BOOMbox, mounted in the window, which was a nice addition that complimented the theme of the place. I have only been here once & I am already a fan. The sandwich was unforgettable & I will definitely be back to try the other options: Caprese-V, BOOM Ballwich, Reubenese, & T.B.L.T.

Boomwich serves delicious sandwiches, there is no doubt about it. I’ve been twice for lunch on Mondays when there was no line and service was speedy. The absolute best part hands down is the chewy, salty pretzel rolls used to make the sandwiches. I can’t get enough of them! The Dr Cubano sandwich is fantastic and huge — so worth the $ 9. Delicious, tender pork butt topped with melted cheese and pickles and mustard. The TBLT is also top notch. This turkey is not regular sliced deli meat… this is Thanksgiving roast style. Plus avocado, arugula, tomato, mayo and crunchy bacon. And again, so filling. I have been less enamored with the sides at Boomwich — partially because of the high prices and partially because they have not been up to par. $ 5 for a tiny portion of pickled veggie coleslaw that was mediocre and even 50 cents for a soggy pickle. I wouldn’t recommend their sides, which just seem to be afterthoughts, but urge everyone to head over for one of their excellent sandwiches.

Boomwhich NY Brooklyn Cobble Hill 12:30pm Tuesday 12th May 2015 Five Stars Right off of Smith and Atlantic, this small slightly lower level eatery is amazing. Inside there are three long communal tables which seemed like ample seating. It’s a bit warm inside so I elected to eat at the lone two top table outside. The menu is now printed on laminated menu instead of the chalkboard. I didn’t see the Fughetaboutit Sandwich with mortadella, capicola, soppresata, balsamic tomato marmalade, basil, fresh motz, provolone. So I opted for my usual favorite the meatball sandwich. I also tried the crispy/cheesy broccoli and a pickle. In no time at all, my food arrived. The broccoli was roasted then topped with cheese and crispy onions. The tops were a bit overcooked for my tastes but overall it was delicious. The nice char of florets coupled with the creamy pub style cheese makes this dish a must have. The meatball sandwich is smaller than expected but not less filling. It’s wrapped in newspaper print parchment paper. The pretzel bread had a nice outer skin with soft and chewy inside. There was just enough bread to hold the filling leaving each and every bite filled with meat, cheese, and sauce.(No filler here). The meatballs were so moist and flavorful. There were large cloves of melt in your garlic. The sandwich also comes with broccoli rabe which is nice to have something green in my meaty and cheesy sandwich but the pieces were hard to bite through which causes you take the whole vegetable with the first bite. It would be better if they were chopped up. The pickle was a sweet a bread and butter but still had a nice coriander/mustard taste to it. All in all, this is a place that you should try.

All my friends are worthless.(Yes, I’m talking to you.) No one was willing to go to Boomwich and get each and every one of their sandwiches in one trip* for a gluttonous extravaganza… so it has taken me months to eat about five or six of them.** Verdict: Dr. Cubano is the winner. Messy as hell, but fantastic. This is certainly not to say that any of the sandwiches are losers. When it comes to a hero, great bread is half the battle… and the pretzel buns that Boomwich uses are excellent. The other half of the battle is good stuff to put on that great bread, and Boomwich is winning the war. The signature sandwiches can sometimes sound a little weird(I don’t know what Lychee Muchim is), but I haven’t had a problem yet.(They also serve ‘Keep It Simple’ heroes like Turkey & Cheese, but I think you should keep it simple somewhere else.) Each combination has had great balance, great flavor, and left me wanting more. Obviously some are better than others, because it’s a matter of preference. But in my experience, they take care to evenly distribute the ingredients so that each bite is a pleasure. I’ve never not wanted more sandwich after finishing, and it’s not because they are too small(although they are not the monstrosities you might get at other Brooklyn hero shops), but because they are good. Some of the heroes have came and went(C.F.C., Camarones Shrimp Po’boy), some are still on the menu(T.B.L.T., Reubenese), but as long as they keep Dr. Cubano around, I’ll keep coming. And I guess I’ll probably keep coming even if they take it off, because I live pretty close, and I like good sandwiches. _____________ *“Boohoo, we have jobs and responsibilities and aren’t into morbid obesity, BOOOHOOOO.” **I don’t mean that I’ve been eating all of these sandwiches over the course of several months. I think they would go bad even with proper refrigeration, and that wouldn’t be healthy. Rather, I go every once in a while and get a sandwich and eat it that same day.

Out on a sunny winter day, a friend and I decided to dine locally. I loved the warm welcome! The small black lunch tables were pretty cool. No lines, so no complaints! Unfortunately, there were a few items on the menu that were not available for a 1PM lunch like the salads and two sandwiches. I did not mind and ordered the BBQ brisket(bulgogi, sweet potato chips, purple pineapple slaw) for $ 9. Affordable and delicious. They incorporated flavors that I’ve had separately and fused them together. Surprisingly, it works. I’d probably return for an encore.
