Going kosher in Midwood? Café K is still one of my favorites for dinner with my wife. But the best experience is Sunday morning Brunch. Love taking the kids early, when it’s not too busy, for some pancakes and eggs. Friendly, quick service. Delicious coffee for me, and OJ for the kids. I’ve never been to the boro park location, but the Avenue K location is clean, with tons of light, and airy. For dinner, the fish is incredible and fresh, and it’s my favorite penne vodka in Brooklyn. Great sushi as well.

A miss. Every time. I always wonder how restaurants who really don’t care about customer satisfaction still exist. It boggles my mind. The food Café K serves is sub par at best(I’ve definitely ordered items that were not made fresh). Service is a disaster and so is parking. Even though this is right next to me and could possibly have the potential of being a good café, I have absolutely given up and will probably never order here again.

I enjoy this place! Gave my wife her ring here after I got it from the jeweler, so this is a special little place. Eggplant parmesan is small but great! Hot cocoa with Torino is great. Enjoyed the pancakes too. Service is pretty quick. I’ll definitely be back. I’ll even try to sit in the same seat as last time — corner of restaurant by window. Maybe you’ll see us…

5 stars for a good casual dairy restaurant! They are extremely nice here, accommodating us when we showed up 30 mins before closing. The food was pretty good, and came very timely. All the ingredients were fresh and we had a very nice meal. I had the blacked salmon which was seasoned very well and the Veggies on the side were particularly good. My husbands pasta was cooked perfectly but the sauces was nothing too special I guess he will order something else next time. We will be back!

very expensive café. i ordered a banana joe which is pretty good and a 9 inch personal pizza is decent but very small considering its price. they charge a 10 dollar delivery fee which is crazy! I don’t think i’ll order from here again unless they lower delivery fee and give bigger portions of food.

A hit or miss. this place hovers between 2 and 3 stars for me. I ordered a burrito today which was basically just rice wrapped in a tortilla. there were other ingredients, but my plate was overflowing with tasteless rice. the chips the meal came with looked like they were made on premises, but they were also oil-drenched and chewy. gross. I think this is a classic case of the menu being too long. it’s better if a restaurant keeps it simple and does things well. one thing they do really well is the Mexican breakfast. stop by before noon and order your sunny side up eggs with salsa and rice. flavorful and a huge plate. presentation is nice, too!

Food is alright, however it’s the service that really bothers me a lot. I’ve been here on a Saturday night and it was so busy that I waited 25 minutes to get a table, it was so overcrowded that they don’t even bother organizing reservations. This place is horrible and run by unorganized cheap people that can’t even manage their own café. Will never be returning here again.

Non-existent service. No AC on a hot day. The worst food poisoning of my life! I am traumatized for life now! :’(

I’ve been here at least 30 times in the last 8 years, lately it’s been hit and miss lately. When the crowd is light(Sunday evenings) the service is good, the food pretty good, and the desert(chocolate soufflé) amazing. but today, it was jammed(everyone’s off for xmas), and the service was just plain bad. had to ask 3 times for a glass of water, waiter wasn’t too nice to my wife and son, and when the table next to us started getting water leaking on them from the ceiling, the waitress gave them a very ‘i’m too busy for this now what do you want me to do’ «sorry». as long as you go when it’s not busy, its a good dairy/pizza/pasta/fish place.

Very pleasant ambiance with good service. The food is generally great(although, in some of the pasta dishes, the ingredients seem to be pretty standard, super-market type stuff). Prices are on the higher end but, overall, very much worth it.

I’ve been here twice. Once for pasta, the other time for sushi. The pasta wasn’t anything fancy, but it tasted good. I loved the sushi though :) BOTH times I ordered dessert. The desserts are DELICIOUS!!! This place has a cute atmosphere and is a nice casual type restaurant. Bring cash, they don’t take cards.

Great service and great food. They could get a little pricey for dinner, but I usually go for brunch and get the Mexican Breakfast Special. It tastes great and you get a lot for a very reasonable price. They have delicious shakes, hot cocoa, and fish and pasta dishes too. Nice ambiance at night. Their service is friendly and courteous. They made a mistake on my order twice(I’ve been there like 100 times, so not too bad), and both times they apologized and made good on it.(replaced the order on 1, and free milkshake on another when I failed to complain until I pretty much finished what they gave me) A great Kosher dairy cholov yisroel restaurant. Not open Fridays.

This is new to me. I’d call it Haute Kosher. What style is this? Modern, minimalist, beautiful, Kosher. They specialize in seafood, pasta dishes, and desserts. There are no proper aisles in the grid of seating, so things get cluttered and confusing. The wait staff method is randomized with some mathematical formula related to walking patterns of pigeons dictating who gets served when and by whom. The cups of water are strangely similar to those in my chabad house at college and the tables at suprise lake sleepaway camp. No ice for any of these. Is ice not kosher? The food was skillfully cooked. First time I’ve liked risotto. Grilled salmon had the skin left on the underside — thank you. French fries were wonderful, as usual when fried in chicken fat. Nearly every pass of food to other tables emitted the words«What is that??» from me or my friend. Even the shakes and lattes looked great. Also, a few«Why??‘s» Such as the few people ordering sushi. Sushi from here? It looked good. Prices are what I’d expect for Haute Kosher. Either of those adjectives would normally double the price. They did. Nonetheless, my interest is piqued.
