Great bar. Chill and cheap neighborhood spot with great music and a jukebox stocked with some of the best choice in the city.

This place is great — pure and simple. Chill vibe, divey, dark, small and can sometimes feel like you are in the movie Desperado(some may get the reference). Probably not often but occasionally. Great specials, service and bartender. It’s for those that are interested in this type of vibe — others will find it lame. Not me… this hits the spot. Also some good music playing. If you like divish bars and local joints this is worth hitting up in Bushwick.

I got their meat and cheese plate the other night and it really speaks to me. Aged Dorritos and a house cured slim jim stick! Nothing better. Apparently Dave also got nominated for best bartender in NY… not sure why, but I will vote for him!

Awesome little neighborhood hole. Solid bartender, great drink specials and super warm/cozy vibe.

This place is so awesome! Not only do they have reasonably priced drinks, but the specials/combinations are also really great. Not a place to go for food, but if you don’t mind paying minimum for a Slim Jim, a bag of Doritos, or a pickle then this is the place for you. Not to mention they have an awesome juke box!

Theme nights are relatively simple to execute if the idea is good. Cain’s free pickleback Mondays, for example, entitle the purchaser of a shot of anything, even well whiskey(Kentucky Gentleman, $ 3 during happy hour) to a free pickleback. A $ 1 value.

Great neighborhood bar. Friendly service, moderate prices, great seating for groups or couples. My only complaint is that it was strangely dark when I went there on a Tuesday evening.

Dirty glass, dirty ass. This place is gross. I was so excited for a new bar in my neighborhood, but it’s a dirty dive. The bartendar gave me a dirty wine glass and I got to stare at his big butt crack all the while. No thanks. I’d rather drink at home up the block.

Monday pm may 12 – 13 the bartender is standoffish and lazy. Bad attitude and a failure at his job. Really dude ?! Just be personable and pour drinks no ones trying to be your friend!

I dare you to find a better bar. The drinks are a delight. Don’t leave before enjoying a pickle. Great place to bring a friend or to find a new one.

I’ve only been there a few times in the past year but the beer is always cold, the staff friendly and the people too. just nice little place to sit back and have some fun.

Felt a little out of place here as I stumbled in half drunk, alone, amidst a sea of people conversing with each other. Maybe it was just that night but there wasn’t a solitary person amongst them, they were all paired off or in small groups happily talking up a storm about this or that. The bartenders were really friendly and I quickly got sucked into a conversation about pizza around Brooklyn. The crowd here, in my limited exposure, range from pleasant to downright neighborly. I wasn’t here for long, as I was meeting some friends at another bar around the corner but I couldn’t help but notice a chalkboard with names. Friends told me later it was to keep track of whose turn it is to buy. I think it’s both the greatest thing ever thought up and the most obvious. I love it!

I just love this place. I love having a bar where I know that I can pop in for a few drinks, make a new friend or two, chat with the bartender, listen to some good(unpretentious) tunes, and not have to worry about any drama. It calls to me when I bike past on my way home from work…

Great local spot. Cheap drinks! Come here a few times and you’ll likely become one of «the regulars». The bartender I’ve met,(Dave) is a rad guy and in a local band. Also the chalkboard where you can write a friend’s name on and have a drink saved for them the next time they come in is a great idea. Really great place!

Great neighborhood bar. It’s like Cheers — you can show up on any given night and expect to find a familiar face. Great prices and friendly staff. Only reason it’s four instead of five stars is that they open so late in the afternoon. Also: Greatest jukebox in town.

Bushwick’s very own Cheers. Stevie, the owner, is very friendly and will probably buy you a drink if you’re friendly enough. Which, given the drink specials, you will be.

I’ve lived in Bushwick for a year and a half and have only recently discovered Cain’s… What the hell?! I’ve only stopped in on Sundays and the bartender is awesome, the drinks are strong and the bar is charming(ex: The chalkboard of shots and drinks left for friends, the board games, the couches etc.) I totally agree with a previous reviewer, my roommates and I consider Cain’s as close to our living room as a bar can get.

Cain’s is a neighborhood bar, as evidenced by the chalkboard where you can write a friend’s name when you’ve purchased him or her a drink. The next time she’s in the bar, if she sees her name, she’ll get her drink! I sort of love that. I’ve always been too much of an explorer to really have«my bar» but if I did, I’d like it to look just like Cain’s. The room is small but there’s not usually a big crowd so you can normally find a seat at the bar, at one of the tables, or in the couch-lounge area. The jukebox is diverse so the music is anything but top 40. As far as bar snacks go, there’s McClure’s pickles for $.75. There’s also chips and slim jims. I’d be retaining water for a week if I had more than just one pickle.

Cain’s is an extension of my living room. My favorite nights are weekdays, that is when you really feel the local vibe. It’s one of the only places I’ve ever been in New York that truly feels like a neighborhood bar. Most of the regulars live within a few blocks and make it out more than once a week. It’s addictive. The bartenders are friendly and inviting. Make a point of getting to know them. If you ever run into the owners(Stevie and Aaron), introduce yourself. They are wonderful people and are completely dedicated to the neighborhood institution they’ve created as well as the people who frequent the bar. The beer & shot specials are great and for those who like pickle backs, they use McClure’s pickle juice.

Random bar on a random block. Actually it was on my list of places to try. Certainly it is a nice bar, relaxed, comfortable tables, cool bartender, and space. All that said, I couldn’t find anything really noteworthy about it. Quite small, with a jukebox, and spaceous bar. Bunch of tables to one side, yada yada. Basic. Still if you’ve had enough of speakeasy this, and craft beer that, and your fill of cocktails from mixologists… then this may well be a new hotspot for you. Check it out!
