I was looking around for a new place to get a cut, wanted to do something different with my hair and found cutmasters on Unilocal.They were a five minute drive for me so I walked in without an appointment at a quarter before 12 on a Saturday morning.
The place looked like a mess; exposed wiring, paneling not all put up, a funky one piece wood bench and a bunch of folding chairs. When I asked about it later, turns out they just moved in to this spot 8 days before. Apparently their old spot burned down. Acceptable explanation, can’t hold it against them.
There were two stations and both were occupied by guys getting cuts. I went in and the barber closest to me asked if I called ahead; I told him I didn’t — he said one of them would take me in a few minutes.
No problem. There was some Kendrick Lamar playing in the shop. Sat on the bench for a bit, only had to wait 3 – 5 minutes. The guy that took me was Veev, he asked me if I’d been there before — I hadn’t — he introduced himself and asked what I wanted — cool. I told him what I was thinking and he got to it. I was happy with the result, it didn’t take forever, looks pretty sharp, and it was 15 bucks.
Verdict: new barbershop found.

If they made a Barbershop movie in Brooklyn area, this would the spot where they would shoot it. It’s your typical neighborhood spot where you come to get a nice cut and talk smack with your boys, who also happen to work here. Come here all the time, even though they closed now and moved elsewhere. Get my cuts from my boy Gino. Good quality haircuts for about $ 15 bucks, which is totally fair.
They are especially good at giving you tape ups and shape ups, they know their way with a straight razor. But they can also give you a classic cut. To get your bang for your buck while also having a good time hanging out while getting your hair cut and listening to rap, come to this place.
