I made a reservation via Unilocal for 6 on Saturday. When we arrived we discovered that the restaurant had closed, There was no sign on the door, no message on the machine, no notice from Unilocal Seat Me. Not sure what has happened at Lunetta.

I wish I had some food porn pics but I was too hungry to worry about documenting my experience. I think this place flies under the radar a bit. The pappardelle with rosemary braised lamb(wow! there were also some kind of crusted nuts in it which gave it a nice hint of texture) and crusted chicken(juicy and tender!) with spinach and onion rings were a delight. Solid comfort food, warm and dimly light ambiance and great service. I would recommend this place if you’re looking to get out of the hustling and bustling city environment and fed up with the impossible reservations for restaurants in the west village.

My boyfriend and I had a great dinner here last night. The food was fresh and delicious, the wine selection was excellent, and the dessert was also delish. The only downside was the service. The girl who waited on us seemed to be new and she was pretty much the only waitress working except for two other men who also were doing seating and the bar. It was disappointing that they had such limited staff on a Saturday night. Overall however I would definitely recommend this place if you’re in the mood for great food and okay service.

A wonderful neighborhood Italian restaurant that is worth traveling for. The décor is welcoming and walks the line between being casual and a nice night out for grownups. The meatballs remind me of my grandma’s, as the sauce has a nice smokiness to it that reminds me of a food scotch. The carbonara was associative and fatty, and the steak was perfectly done. Also, be sure to try the anchovies bruschetta and the sprouts. Mad delicious. I can’t believe I’ve lived around the corner for 5 years and never once tried here.

This spot is great if you don’t eat. The food is good quality and thoughtful, but the potions are so small it’s almost comical.

Another trip here, even though we’ve moved out of the neighborhood. Chef Adam and crew still killing it, southern Italian style pasta and specials that will blow you away. Had the new bruschetta, pesto/pistachio, amazing stuff and the crispy chicken with balsamic glaze, insane. If you’re lucky you can come on the full moon ramen night, the first in Brooklyn far preceding the current craze, excellent ramen and Japanese home cooking specials. Came last time and although it was packed, they fit us in and it was more than satisfying.

Think twice if you purchase a discount coupon here. We got an Amazon Local deal for this restaurant and were looking forward to trying it since we live in the area. The chicory salad was alright and the bruschetta was pretty good, but we had no real problem with the place until we got our entrees. They were about half the size of all the entrees around us, haphazardly placed on small salad plates. I had 4 bites of pasta(a $ 19 dish) and my fiancé had maybe 10 small gnocchi on his plate. We also did not get bread like the other tables. I understand how and why these coupons come with certain caveats, but is it really necessary to make people who bring them in feel blatantly inferior? It’s tacky. We left the restaurant still hungry and turned off. The entrees were good and we really would’ve liked to have had more of each. If you’re offering new customers a lesser experience because of these deals, I really don’t see the point of participating in them in the first place.

Lunetta is our local go-to — we love sitting at the counter and watching the chefs I think this restaurant is under-rated by Zagat — the steak is excellent — always delicious specials — often housemade pasta. Start with the bruschettas — the fegato is out of this world… Last night we split the special — a fabulous whole grilled black bass — it sizzled seductively before our eyes. We watched as they cooked up some calamari & jalopeno in the brodo sauce that complemented the fish perfectly . Capping off a terrific meal with the affogato — memorable and 2 blocks from the house Always an enjoyable experience :)

Lunetta has become the go-to restaurant for my 5-year Brooklynite brother and he took the family here for a special get together dinner. The restaurant is small, but they were willing to open a little early to serve our large party. I walked in late due to flight delays to trays of bruschetta, cheese, and charcuterie. The chicken liver bruschetta was rich and delicious, the cheese fresh and balanced, and the meats nicely cured(though not the best I’ve had). We rounded out the meal with the fried brussels sprouts and orecchiette with broccoli. These are two of the most perfect dishes — some of my favorites to be found anywhere. Seriously… go eat them now. Lunetta also offers a memorable dish of fried chicken with a sweet vinaigrette reduction. The super crunchy fried chicken with sweet, almost syrupy reduction is a dish I have not come across anywhere else. It’s hard to be attractive eating this and you feel pretty crappy about yourself afterwards, but definitely worth trying. The meal was rounded out with some fantastic wine though the wine list is short. We had the Guidobono Barbera de Alba and it went well with both the pasta and the chicken, but was a little overwhelmed by the chicken liver. Prices are above what I’m used to being from Minnesota, but they are certainly reasonable for this area of Brooklyn. Enjoy!

This is an absolute must for anyone in the neighborhood. I was here for a birthday party and we had an absolutely fabulous time. The atmosphere is comfortable, but sophisticated, like hanging out with a super cool possible-Italian mobster with great taste in wine. We started with the bruschetta(and must-have), olives, and formaggi & salumi. This was followed by the orecchiette, broccoli rabe & lunetta-made fennel sausage(YUMYUMYUM), meatballs, fried chicken smothered in a balsamic glaze, and, my personal favorite, fried brussels sprouts. Which each bite of the sprouts, flavor oozed in such a rich combination that I instantly entered a state of food ecstasy. The wine flowed, the laughter rippled, and my belly got satisfactorily full. Then we had gelatto. Holy. Crap. Get the malt gelatto. GETITRIGHTNOW.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Brooklyn. They have great appetizers and main dishes. They have a choice of Bruchetta for appetizers that are wonderful, and main courses that change with the season. We always come here before going to the Cobble Hill to see a movie.

Went to a bachelorette dinner here last night and, let me tell you, when I say mind-blowing…I mean it. Had a lovely bottle of prosecco to start, followed by lots of lambrusco. Great bottles at great prices. Always a good thing. The food was un-f’ing-believable. I want to form a pile of their roasted mushroom bruschetta, dive in, and eat my way out. Had a mussel special with chorizo and potatoes that caused half the table a minor heart attack of joy. The brussels sprouts and butternut squash sides were insane. The meatballs… ooooh the meatballs. I can’t think of adequate words. Completely ate our faces off with apps and entrees so didn’t even touch dessert. That’ll be next time! Service was fantastic. Despite the place being packed, our waiter was attentive without being obnoxious. Everyone was friendly. Food and wine came out at a good pace. Water glasses never got below half-full. I’ll recommend this to anyone and everyone. Trust me, the fact that it took me 1 ½ hrs to get back home to the Bronx and I DIDN’T CAREATALLBECAUSE I WASSOFATANDHAPPY… yeah. That about sums it up.

Lunetta is my neighborhood gem. The location, the décor, the staff, the drinks, the food — all awesome. Stepping inside the restaurant, one feels at home in the cozy and warm atmosphere. I tend to start off with either a negroni or an old fashioned, both are delicious with the just the right blend of alcohol and mixings. Foodwise, everything I’ve had has been great. I’m especially fond of the orecchiette with broccoli rabe and lunetta-made fennel sausage. It’s the perfect dish for a cold winter’s night. The pappardelle with rosemary braised spring lamb is pretty delish too. And you can’t go wrong with lunetta’s meatballs. The entrée portions are large so leave room for dessert as the lunetta-made gelato is so yummy and nicely partners with a glass of limoncello. Great drinks and food are enhanced by the terrific wait staff. Whether I come in with friends, family or by myself, the servers are always attentive, friendly, helpful and nice. I believe the true colors of a restaurant come through when one is a single diner and I often come to Lunetta solo because I know I’ll be treated well and the food will be good.

Service great. Food.meh. Had the carbonara and chicken milanese. Both totally unmemorable… coulda bought quality ingredients and cooked a better meal at home. Waitress/bartender was great though!

While the food here is well prepared and delicious(I especially enjoyed the bruschetta) I probably wouldn’t return. Here are the reasons: 1) Most of the dishes on the menu include pork which I don’t eat. 2) The portions are tiny 3) It’s over-priced, especially for the portion price 4) There’s too many other good Italian restaurants within a mile radius to try I did enjoy the ambiance and the service was great. So if you’re a pork loving Italian food junkie with some extra cash to burn, head on over for a nice dinner.

Lunetta was lovely late Friday night, not too crowded and nice and cozy. Shared 500 ml of red wine with Tom. We also ordered the white anchovies bruschetta. Tom said it had too much butter, I said there was the perfect amount. I said there was too much anchovy(I’m not THAT into them). Tom said it was the right amount. So there you go. I got the spaghetti carbonara for the entrée — very rich! Buttery, eggy, peppery. Loved the pancetta bits as well. Tom got the monkfish special, which was very tasty as well. I got the gelato trio for dessert: milk chocolate, blueberry, and buttermilk. I didn’t care for the buttermilk, but I loved the other flavors. Service was kind and prompt. Lunetta was a happy find in a neighborhood full of great restaurants.

Having unsurprisingly(and objectively) failed my previously mentioned arbitrary and unenforceable dietary restrictions, I often find myself back at Lunetta. Quiet Cobble Hill charm, consistently comforting carbonara and friendly faces keep it in my rotation of neighborhood favorites. Unfailingly, the meatballs are hearty, and the roast chicken is excellent. However, it is the new mushroom polenta appetizer that elevates Lunetta into one of the best cold weather options around. Eat this dish. Feel its heat spread to your frozen extremities. Remember what it’s like to be happy and warm, and stop treating your significant other like it’s her fault NYC is bleak and dreary in the dead of winter. Unless she eats more than her fair share of the polenta, in which case you are free to shove her into a snowbank on the walk home.

I really enjoyed a solo dinner at the bar on a Thursday night. When I found out my Jazz guy wasn’t playing at Bar Talbec a few doors down, I picked this place based on the ambience I felt when walking by. The interior is a little tight, and loud, but again, it gives off a family and familiar feeling. Distinctively Brooklyn. Started with a glass of Cabernet and the white bean Bruschetta. Wine was good, the appetizer a little small. But only $ 4. Opted for the meatballs($ 14) with no pasta(extra $ 2) but it showed up with pasta. Nice bread served with a quality olive oil made a real meal out of this. The small & tightly packed meatballs, made of a combination of meats, were a little dry, but flavorful. The pasta was a little hard, so overall, that was the lowlight. However, the bartender was more than friendly and I ended up leaving with a bill of $ 31, plus tip. Not bad. Interesting seating at the end of the bar that allows for 2 couples to face each other, which I like, ad a change from the traditional table. Overall a great find.
