I love their vegetable soup. The veggies are fresh and it comes out flaming hot. It’s perfect on a very cold day. The staff are very friendly and the prices are great.

My favorite go to local sushi spot! Service is great, staff is even better! Talk about bang for your buck! Great spot in the neighborhood!

I went here with a coworker and some of his friends. I liked the ambiance here. The staff is super fun and friendly. The service was relatively quick. I liked how they did sake bombs together as a group. That made it really entertaining, kind of like a big party. With that said their food was really average. Nothing special to note about it. But I had a great time with friends so that’s a plus.

I just love this place, they have a great selection of fresh sushi, great service in a charming atmosphere. I’ve been here 5 times and haven’t been disappointed in the least. Nigiri pieces and rolls are a good fish to rice ratio and worth every penny. The spanish mackerel is to die for, the best I’ve had. The only reason they don’t get 5 stars is because their selection, while great, still lacks unique choices like butter fish sushi for example. Still, an enjoyable meal overall. I’ll be back everytime I’m in the area. I would highly recommend this little place.

Started off with a whole bottle of plum wine for only 15 bux. The rest of the food flowed in wonderfully. Aged(fried) Tofu was so tender and crispy, tiger eye(smoked salmon wrapped in octopus) was small but packed with so much flavor, worth a try and I had a lobster salad roll which was wrapped in cucumber than rice. All delicious and nicely plated. For dessert I had the Fried Green tea ice cream and man. it is better than cake! I’m so hooked!

Been coming here for years. The food was amazing or at least it used to be. Sushi is good but quality hasn’t been the same for a while… not sure if they switched the staff…

I have to admit that I was skeptical, I have my doubts. Between the Unilocal comments and the low occupancy on a Friday night, I really second-guessed my girlfriends for picking this local sushi spot for dinner. We each ordered some basic rolls, priced at less than five bucks a roll, I was really impressed by the quality. The service and ambiance was nice but not too impressionable. This review was based solely on the rolls we had while eating at the restaurant, and the additional rolls I had ordered for take-out. I will be back to try out their specialty rolls and other stable Japanese menu items. Consider this my quest to either overthrow the Unilocal bullies, or to nod my head in agreement with the average 3 star rating.

Before I moved in the area, I knew of this place and have come many times in the past for sushi and drinks. I can honestly say I had no complaints. The sushi was always fresh and the drinks were cheap. One night, I was about to order for pick-up using grubhub. Before I placed the order, my roommate insisted that the prices on grubhub were incorrect and that she’d never paid that much, however I was there a week prior and ordered take-out and paid over $ 10.00 for just two rolls. To prove me wrong, she called up, ordered her usual two rolls with a miso soup. Needless to say, she paid less than I did, and the prices that were on grubhub were significantly higher than what appeared on her receipt. I’ll be generous and give them three stars for the great specials they offer.

Excellent customer service, try the spice girl roll. Not crazy busy but you know know it’s good because it’s a spot where all the locals go.

I ordered sushi from here last weekend and it was ok. It wasn’t bad enough I would never eat here again but it wasn’t good enough that I would run back and re order. The sushi was ok but I have had better and the teriyaki vegetables were not what I expected. They came with nothing on it and were basically just steamed. If that is what I wanted to eat I wouldn’t have ordered Teriyaki vegetables. My bf like his meal a lot better then me but for the price I will not be ordering from here again.

This review is in reference to a delivery order I placed and received from Mitoushi. I ordered several special rolls, and 2 were completely inedible due to severe fishy taste on the crab. I could not believe they even sent these rolls out. They need to require the chef’s to taste test the old fish first, to see if they can even get away with passing it off as fresh. I made the mistake of ordering on a Monday, thinking it fish on a monday can’t be that bad? But oh Boy was I wrong, I paid 20.00 and threw them out. Super disappointing.

Heard about Mitoushi from a friend, and now it’s my go-to sushi delivery joint! My husband and I order delivery from Mitoushi pretty often. The service is always really fast, the quality is great, and the prices are so affordable! Where else would you get a salmon or shrimp tempura roll for $ 2.95?! I have to admit that I was skeptical at first because of the mantra«good sushi is not cheap, cheap sushi is not good» but Mitoushi defies that. Their sushi is good and cheap. I have also dined in with friends and was happy with the service and quality. Can’t wait to try their lunch special sometime!

It’s right down the street from me so I come here often with my family. The service is good the employees are kind. They have TVs that distract me from the delicious food in front of me. They have a wide selection of rolls, noodles and other foods which are all very good. I’ve never encountered bad fish, raw chicken or burnt noodles here ever. Everything is always perfectly cooked(or not if it’s sushi lol). I LOVE the art on the walls it adds a nice splash of color. The booths are comfortable and especially with my bad back, that means a lot coming from me. The food doesn’t arrive especially fast, but it’s not slow and 100% the 15 – 20 minute wait.

I stopped by this restaurant with a friend today who had previously recommended it to me. Right off the bat you notice the quaint, relaxed ambience of the restaurant. There were but 4 patrons other than my friend and i who were sampling their wares. Being about midday i chose the lunch special sushi/sashimi combo along with a side of gyouza and shumai. I was a tad disappointed that takoyaki wasn’t on the menu and our waiter smiled and apologized. It’s not his fault but i had a craving for octopus. At any rate, the miso soup that came with the lunch special was nothing more than salt water and the gyouza and shumai, while tasty, barely had any meat inside and were nothing but wrapper. The sushi and sashimi, while aesthetically and artistically well presented, were lacking a bit in taste and portion size. I expected a little bit more bang for my buck that what i received. I wanted to try a dessert but given the disappointing portion size of the sushi and the nothing but wrapper gyouza and shumai, i decided better of it and passed. Would i come here again? Quite possibly but only if it was the third or fourth choice in a list of restaurants my friends and i wished to visit.

Yesterday owner here with 3 other crew members during our walk away lunch. The place is very quaint. They have plenty of house style rolls which provided a variety of flavor and options. Since I was there for lunch I ordered the Undanon which is eel over rice. I also order a Bay Bridge roll which is eel and cream cheese fried. As you could see I was in the mood for eel. The lunch special Undanon was very beautifully done. It was placed into a plate and kind of like a deconstructed eel roll. It had long eel pieces over a circular bed of rice. The Bay Bridge roll on the other hand wasn’t what I expected. The taste and flavor were spot on but I was expecting a crusty outer shell since the description said fried. In reality it was covered with soft fluffy white rice with an inside crunch. In the end I was fully satisfied with both the food and service.

1) One of the Unilocal reviews is from a guy with the name«Mitoushi» who gives it 5 stars and says«Nice restaurant.» Obviously the owner and says a lot about the honesty of the establishment. 2) Sushi rice was barely seasoned. Tasted like normal rice. 3) Chicken teriyaki used breast meat and was dry as cardboard as a result. Teriyaki sauce tasted watery and gross. 4) Soft shelled crab used regular breadcrumbs rather than traditional light, airy panko(Japanese breadcrumbs). Felt like I was eating stale bread instead of rich crab at some times. I could go on but what’s the point? Horrible.

This is my first Japanese restaurant outside of Manhattan. Okay, so I didn’t expect a river separating two boroughs to be a cause for concern. Needless to say, Brooklyn lived up to expectation. Okay, now on to the review. The first thing I noticed upon entering was how nice the ambience is. The place is really nice. You can tell they spent a decent amount of money on the décor. As for the food, I had the sushi love boat and it lived up to Manhattan’s Japanese restaurants. I would venture into saying that the sashimi is better than most Japanese restaurants in Manhattan. Really. I highly recommend this place.

Oh boy. I ordered delivery from this place. Teriyaki chicken and three pieces of sashimi. Turns out I didn’t get three servings of sashimi, I got literally three *slices* of sashimi. For $ 8. Iron Chef House gives you four times that. I’m not sure why they decided to use white meat in the chicken teriyaki. The meat was dry and overcooked and the sauce was watery and flavorless, more like a sweet tea than a teriyaki sauce. The vegetables were strewn haphazardly about the stew as if an afterthought and half the sauce was spilled inside the delivery bag soaking the paper right through. Naturally they didn’t include any napkins in the bag. Or extra sauce. Or chopsticks. This place is not happening.

I had: Tuna tataki appetizer Salad that comes with entrée Eel with avocado roll Salmon roll Omlett roll Dining companion had: Grilled shrimp appetizer Salad with entrée Chicken roll Shrimp tempura roll Cant remember the third roll Place is very clean. My eel rolls had more rice than eel which was disappointing but the flavor was good across the board. You MUST try the tuna appetizer as it was beyong delicious. A bit spicy but totally the way to experience seared tuna. Grilled shrimp were perfection! Chicken roll was an interesting texture and great flavor, however, not something I could commit to for a full roll. Overall, pleased and happy to return.

Great sushi, with delicious well presented tempura ice cream Food: 4.25 Stars Susi & Sashimi Combination Platter /I Love Tuna It is your standard combination platter. Everything is fresh and delicious. I just can’t put my finger on the name of one of the fish/cucumber roll/wrap in the dish. It’s a piece of fish tied around 3 – 4 sticks of cucumber. It was good, but I have no idea what it is. The Hibachi fried rice is an excellent side dish to have especially after a long day of walking around Manhattan and Brooklyn getting lost during a scavenger hunt. I found it a little dry but the flavors were blended well enough to make me almost lick the plate clean. The tempura ice cream would be the most likely reason for me to return to Mitoushi. The tempura batter is very thin and the ice cream is ever so slightly melting at the ends. Surprisingly when I ordered this dish I expected the typical tempura ball, but it was sliced and beautifully presented. If you think it’s too much for yourself(and you likely will after a big meal), the dish is easily shareable. Not to mention it’s extremely well priced for the quantity you receive. The only thing about the food that annoys me is the lack of ingredients for some of their desserts on multiple occasions(which means it’s not able to be ordered). An example of this is the lack of chocolate syrup for one of their dessert dishes two weeks in a row. I don’t know if this is a common occurrence, but it has sadly happened both times I came here. Whether you are on a date or with friends I highly recommend ordering the Love Boat for 2 or 3 because it looks amazing. I haven’t tried it personally but I saw it brought to other tables and it looked cool. Drinks: 4 Stars Love me that Lychee Sake! Service: 3.5 Stars Standard solid service. Ambiance: 3 Stars There is no real ambiance in this restaurant. It is a very open area with a sushi bar close to the entrance. There is some nice art on the walls, but overall the place feels huge and bland. Maybe I am being a little too picky in this situation, but I feel it is too open. The big plus is the quiet atmosphere. It is a nice place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the nearby hipster armies. Overall: 4 Stars I came here with a small group of friends after another restaurant we tried to go another place with over an hour wait. I am happy the other place was overly packed because I wouldn’t have eaten here. The sushi is good and fresh. The desserts are amazing and nicely presented(I have added a picture of the chocolate tempura ice cream). The service is standard and the décor is bland, but how many people go to a restaurant based solely on décor? I would come here just for the tempura ice cream.
