I won’t go anywhere else for sushi in Park Slope. Always fresh and you just can’t beat half off sushi! Staff is friendly and orders come out at lightening speed.

Had sushi from here on Thursday. Have barely left the bathroom since. Thanks for ruining my weekend guys. You have all been warned.

With its price point and commendable customer service this place is probably now our default lunch restaurant on weekends when we could not be bothered to make our lunches. Our usuals and favorites are Salmon Hibachi with fried rice, Chirashi and Sushi and Sashimi platters. The sushi is fresh and tasty and the portions are decent for a lunch special. Probably not a place to take a date or an evening mean but Worth stopping by if in the area and in the mood for sushi.

Cheap sushi and cheap wine? Can’t go wrong. This place is definitely my go to sushi spot. If you have an intense craving for sushi and you don’t want to spend the big bucks you come here and they treat you right. It so close to everything too including the Barclays and Atlantic terminal it’s perfect. Seriously one of my favorite spots.

I would never have found this place if my friend didn’t bring me, but I’m really glad she did. The sushi here was excellent. I don’t eat seafood, so I get veggie sushi, and all of the vegetable rolls were $ 2.75 which is a steal. I also had a chicken tempura roll which was $ 4. They also do brown rice for your rolls for an extra $ 1 per roll. I had the Peanut Avocado, Broccoli Tempura, Sweet Potato Tempura and Chicken Tempura rolls. All were really good, and the surprise roll for me was the Broccoli tempura. I’d never seen it anywhere else so I had to try it. The broccoli was cooked perfectly, not too undercooked, not too overcooked. My only complaint is that since the brown rice isn’t sushi rice, a lot of rice fell off my rolls since it’s not as sticky. Not sure what could be done here to make that better, im not a sushi maker, but just be aware! Service was really quick, we were in a rush and we were in and out in about 20⁄25 minutes. My friend comes here regularly so whenever I’m in her neighborhood, I’d definitely love to come back.

I am very disappointed in this sushi restaurant. My friends and I came here expecting wonderful sushi, but the sushi was bad and the service was bad as well. First off, I called on the waiter to place my order, when I ordered, I cancel 2 sushi rolls I planned to order. I initially only wanted 1 sushi roll. After, when I was being served, she brought me 2 sushi rolls when I only wanted one. She wasn’t paying abstention to my order. Now, I was stuck with 2 sushi rolls when I only wanted 1. Secondly, the food wasn’t that great either. We came in hungry but when we ate a feel pieces, we were surprised as how we didn’t enjoy it. My two friends couldn’t even finish their rolls, when they only brought 2 rolls. The prices in the restaurant was not worth it, for the bad quality of sushi and small pieces. The worst part was, when we left, my friends and I started feeling sick after eating from here. After we ate, we had a upset stomach and felt light headed. We initially went there fine, but after, we felt disgusting.

The price of the sushi is amazing(2.75) considering the quality. The restaurant is small but there’s a pleasant ambiance that comes with it.

Very fresh, flavorful sushi. And amazing deals! Lots of rolls for just $ 2.75 each. Good lunch specials too. Fast service. I don’t love the TV blaring in the background, but otherwise the setting is quite nice. Clean, updated bathroom.

This place used to be amazing. I would order 3 times a week and told all my friends how incredible this place was. WHATHAPPENED? Suddenly the sushi isn’t so good anymore. Did the sushi chef go on vacation? Please bring him back. Thanks.

For $ 2.75, I can’t say I was expecting 5 star quality. Though I was impressed because this sushi was actually decently good, but every piece of the roll fell apart as I picked it up, making this a messy meal. I had the Spicy BBQ Crunch Roll, and the salmon inside was very very hard(wonder why). The California roll and Shrimp Tempura roll were A-Ok though, as well was the Shirley temple I had. Props to this place also for serving me a «good» meal in only 20 minutes, so when in a rush, here’s a good, quick, and cheap place to come.

There are 1,000 sushi places in this neighborhood. Order from one where your food will actually show up.

It has been a while since I’ve eaten in Brooklyn. I was given the task of finding a lunch spot for the four of us: relatively inexpensive, somewhere within walking distance of Fort Greene/Barclays Center area and(hopefully) tasty. The good thing is that my batting average for finding good places to eat is Babe Ruth-like: spectacular. After a bit of Unilocal searching, I find Shinju. Noon on a Sunday and we start off with two rounds of sake bombs. Why, I don’t know. Our server even helps us with starting off the«Ichi… Ni… San… Sake Bomb!» chant followed by a bang on the table to drop the shot glasses filled with sake into the tall glass of Sapporo. She’s clearly amused by our day-drinking shenanigans. The menu is a bit confusing at first but the main point is that, if you buy more than $ 5 worth of food, you can get your hands on the 50% OFF! sushi items. They really should consider pulling away from discounted food marketing… I felt like I was shopping for clothes at first. Everyone gets two to three rolls each(which is too many) and us fellas ends up trash-compacting the remaining sushi on the ladies’ plates towards the end. Sushi is fresh and I definitely enjoyed the variety of rolls we picked out.

Stopped in for a lunch sushi special which was good. The service was fast and friendly, and the take out was ready within 5 minutes. Wish I could say more, everything was good and fresh. Portion was a little small, seaweed salad was good too.

This is one of the few places I usually get my sushi. First, I’ll start with the pros. I love the cleanliness of this place. Everything is where it should be, napkins, forks, chopsticks, etc. There is an orderly layout to the restaurant that is appealing to the perfectionists. Also, the ambience is desirable. The dark tables go well with the warm lighting and peaceful silence(no crappy music some of the time). Another pro is definitely the pricing. $ 2.75 for a roll is a killer price(with the catch that you must buy at least two). The sushi is usually laid out beautifully in either fine China or glass trays. However, it is an experience too good to be true. Some of the cons is the really(excuse my language) shitty customer service. They usually only have one waiter, and she always looks annoyed and has a very«done-with-her-job» persona(which is why they lose a star). However, it is possible I might’ve just gone on all the bad days. Another con, is they’re always running out of the Pina Coladas. :(I come here exclusively for the beautiful Virgin pina coladas and often get disappointed(which is why they lose another star). My favorites include the Spicy BBQ roll and the crunchy salmon roll.

For such low prices($ 2.75 for a roll), the quality of food here is very high. If you’re the type that cares about both quality and quantity, this is a good place for you. It’s also very clean, and service is good.

Cheap sushi is never going to be amazing. It can be amazing for the price, but generally speaking raw fish is not something you want to really want to be hunting for a bargain on. That said, I ordered from Shinju because I was bargain-hunting.* Unsurprisingly, it’s just A-OK. It’s affordable, and lands just about dead center between the unfreshest and the freshest sushi** I’ve ever had. The shumai is also just fine. I have one bone to pick with Shinju though: Everyone knows you pack the hot stuff on TOP of the delivery bag. Heat rises. I don’t want my sushi getting warm on the way over here. I’m sure it doesn’t actually matter in the least, but c’mon people, get with it. _______________ *Also because the excellent sushi place that I frequent, in addition to being more expensive, also requires me to make an actual phone call for delivery. I can’t handle that these days. **The freshest sushi I ever had:

I don’t usually review right after eating but, this review is needed. I cannot speak for all of their food, nor can I speak for their fresh sushi, but I can speak about their tempura rolls. At $ 4 each it is a steal by itself but, when you add the additional toppings($ 1) it becomes a flavor crime. I ordered a shrimp tempura roll with mango, to go. The roll was prepared quickly and with care. I choose to eat it immediately and I’m glad that I did. The crispness of the tempura and the vegetables went perfectly with the full flavor of the mango. Everything about it was pleasing, both sight and taste. I choose this restaurant on a whim and I will definitely be back. Overall, this is definitely a go to restaurant for good, inexpensive sushi.

First time, delivery. In general ok, service was punctual and quality pretty nice. The two nigiri and the scallops roll were good. Constructive comments: rock shrimps not crunchy and not too warm. Sao mai maybe not handmade? Prices not cheap. Was a nice lunch but I will try other restaurants before ordering here again.
