Wonderful setting, you really can’t beat this location or the incredibly warm and friendly service. Fair prices and nice flavors.

The food is always fresh and delicious. The chicken breast and pasta is awesome. It’s best to call in your order but on a nice day it’s peaceful to sit under the trees and enjoy your meal. They have really good food give it a try.

You should bookmark this place. Right now! Ate here last week while working in the area and it was outstanding. The layout of the place is a bit confusing on the first visit, but it all makes sense once you’ve been initiated. It’s all outdoor seating in a beautiful setting under giant, sprawling Live Oak trees. Who wouldn’t love that? There’s a parking lot out back, and you walk between the house(on your left), and restaurant(on your right). Place you order with the nice lady at the window and chat with the chef(Lonnie Pope) if you like. He’s right there preparing mind-blowing dishes while chatting with you over the nice lady’s shoulder. I like that in a chef. Other reviewers have mentioned a wait but I got there just after 11, so didn’t experience that. If there happens to be a wait, just enjoy the lovely view, calm yourself, and get ready for some great south Louisiana cooking. You won’t be disappointed.

Such a lovely and relaxing atmosphere under the huge live oak trees. First class southern hospitality and food!!! Enjoyed every minute of my lunch, especially when Frank Sinatra was played.

Food is really good. You have to call ahead to get your food with a short wait. If you order at the window you are looking at least a 20 minute wait. The wait is the only reason I’m not giving 5 stars. Also very friendly staff.

We had our first time eating here today and I will be honest it was a little confusing figuring out where to go to order and the food did take a while to come out. The waitress let us know when she brought the food that it is best to call your orders in ahead which is what we would probably do next time we go at lunch. I will admit we were aggravated by the time we got our food and I made a mental note that this would be the first and the last time I ate here. However, we were each handed a box of food that looked impossible to finish but then to my amazement my husband and I both nearly cleaned our plates. Once I tried the food I understood why the waitress told us it is best to call your order in ahead(as all the tables around us seemed to already have gotten that memo) it was delicious and certainly worth the 25 minutes or so we had to wait. This is a place that will not half way prepare an order for a quick ticket time and they definitely shouldn’t.

Amazing place to eat! You seriously cannot beat the food that comes out of this kitchen. Chef Lonnie and team are always on point and provide top notch service. I mean, they know every customer by name. If you are every in the area or looking for a great date night this is definitely the place to go. Do NOT be afraid to make a drive. The food is worth it. Only open for lunch Monday through Friday and dinner Tuesday though Friday.

First the setting may throw you off a little, but don’t let that fool you. The food, the service, and the atmosphere are amazing. Even when it is 90+ degrees out the shade always has a comfortable breeze and wonderful aroma. Weather plate lunch or menu, it us cooked to order, hot and spot on. And save room for dessert, it is always worth it. If it is your first visit let um know, dessert is on the house.

Maybe the most unique dining experience you can have. Dine under a huge oak with shade and pond. The hamburger steak smothered in gravy with homemade mash and green beans were delicious. Serve was fast and friendly. Chef Lonnie was very enthusiastic and friendly.

Fantastic food! Thanks Chef Lonnie! There are daily specials, and weekly specials for dining at night. The portions are more than favorable. I’ve had the pan fried chicken, a hamburger steak lunch, and a hamburger from there. This guy knows how to throw down on some grub!
