23 yrs ago today ~ the morning after my wedding we meet my new in-laws here for breakfast to say goodbye as they traveled back to NY. The question of that day was: what exactly is a Grit?!? And 23yrs later it’s still one of the best Cracker Barrel locations in the surrounding areas! The store is well stocked & beautiful, as always. Food is served hot & delicious & service is borderline outstanding! Thanks for starting my married life out w breakfast w my new Mother & Father in-law & still keeping us well feed all these years later! Enjoy!

This place deserves 3 stars because it’s cheap af. The food is edible and the employees are really nice. However, they do take forever bringing your food. They have some really tasty sweet tea, a little shop right next to it and it was right across from my hotel so I have no complaints. I tried their pot roast. I loved the corn! I suppose that if you are in the south it’s a place you gotta try at least once in your life.

Been awhile since I’ve been here, but cannot say this was a good experience. Server«Moka» wants to argue that tea is unsweet when it is sweet. Decided to order chocolate milk for myself and my boy. No biscuits until food arrives. 40 minute wait on food to come out and the place isn’t packed. There was no wait time for a table. Grits are under cooked and just horrible. I’m wondering if they went to frozen biscuits as these are not very good? How is it that one itty bitty box of chocolate milk(like school lunchroom size) is $ 2.29 and a «Large» that is two boxes is 2.89?!? I could almost buy a gallon of milk for that price. Kids meal, a(one) scrambled egg for 3.19 no side or nothing? Overall $ 31.00 for kids meal,(2) choc milk,(1) tea and(2) breakfast meals. Cafeteria quality food that shouldn’t of been more than $ 18. Disappointed.

Meh. I’ve experienced better is totally right. This meal was one of the weirdest ones I had within the 10 days I was in town. A few observations. 1. They have three dining sections in the restaurant. It was 7pm or so and they only had ONE section open. ONE. That meant that EVERYONE was cramped into one dining section leaving little to no space for privacy whatsoever. 2. I have no idea why they serve bread WITH the meal instead of prior as most place serve bread as an amuse bouche. I know I’m using fancy terms for a chain casual but whatever. 3. Our server seemed either weeded or within her first week of training. I have no idea what was going on but our service was SUPERSLOW. I saw the manager had to speak to a table nearby but that said, I never had a manager touch our table. 4. The manager not touching my table normally isn’t a big deal but it kind of is when my entrée comes out cold and has the texture as if it had been sitting on a plate for over 15 minutes. 5. Don’t order the lemon pepper trout. Kinda meh. This whole experience was kind of a bummer because I LOVE Cracker Barrel. All in all it’s just weird because typically these are located in high volume travel areas and USUALLY those places are pretty spot on because of it. Not the case here.

One of my favorite standbys when it comes to dining on the road. Cracker Barrel’s are almost cookie cutter in their appearance, in their staff and of course, in their food. They are usually delightful, the people are friendly and they are of course cheap. This location was no different. We had an exceptional waitress, she was warm and friendly and very, very patient when one of our party was –late-. The food was good, nothing was stand out, but of course, nothing is really remarkable.

We went in at 9pm and they close at 10pm. It was obvious that they were more interested in closing up than serving us. The food was Ok and the vegetables were over stewed as you would expect at the end of the day. Our server abandoned us, dropped the check, didn’t ask if we wanted dessert and didn’t bring the box we asked for. It’s a shame Cracker Barrel can be a little better than this.
