Good standard harbor freight. Found some great deals at the clearance table last summer. Picked up one if those cheap 2 stroke generators for 30 percent off normal price, which beats out your 20 percent coupon. Good clean store with a decent layout. Staff of friendly enough and decently helpful. Its closets to me and I won’t need to wander too far to find another when I need anything else from harbor freight.

Harbor Freight has gone from virtually unknown to must-stop destination for this Canadian shopper. I mean, where else can you get an 18V cordless drill with charger for $ 15? The tools here are most definitely not first-rate — more second-rate kind of thing. More Black and Decker than DeWalt. The big thing is the selection — they have everything but the Robertson screwdriver bits we Canadians pride ourselves on — and the price. I usually describe the store as second-rate tools at third-rate prices. Deals are to be had weekly on everything from solar panels to air tools to a knockoff of the latest Dremel gadget, usually for around half to a third of what I’d pay elsewhere. I could fault them for the sometimes chaotic layout — most things are placed logically but a few defy description, and sale items are frequently in three to four different places — or the staff, which is usually nice and helpful but occasionally swings way the other way, but at these prices I’ll cut them some slack. Bottom line: if you use tools, and you’ve not been here… rectify that problem.
