I got take out homemade rice pudding and baklava. I have never tried baklava before and I don’t care to ever again, not for me. The rice pudding I ate lying in bed on NYE at 9pm cuz old. The rice pudding was perfect! I think I’ll hold the cinnamon on top next time but the texture was right on target. I’m all about the textures! I will be sure to go back and try all their other items because its fast and inexpensive!

This location is the reason why I will not be patronizing any of the Vasilis locations EVER again! 1 star is too many… I went here(after having several other pleasant experiences at the Main St. location previously) I was ready for some good food! I ordered my meal(chicken gyro wrap with french fries inside – I swear I said that) which is one of their featured wraps… i got my food and went home. I unwraped my order ready to «go to town» and to my surprise it wasn’t chicken but lamb. I called the location to explain the confusion to the worker expecting to hear them say stop in again for the corrected order… but this is when my experience took an even more downward spiral and turn for the WORSE. I was told I clearly didn’t say chicken or I would have had chicken and there’s no way that they could’ve messed up… after minutes of arguing over what I actually said, I then politely asked if I could return to the shop to receive what I really wanted in exchange for the unwanted surprise that I got(you know, typical good customer service) I was given the runaround and eventually told to call the other location and ask for the manager there. I spoke to who I was told was the manager at the other location and was basically told that there’s no way I could have said chicken bc I would have gotten chicken –___– Basically in the same worthless conversation as I had been in before with the previous worker. Needless to say I gave up my pointless efforts and decided that whenever I’m craving a Greek wrap, I will instead visit one of the other 2000+ Greek joints in Buffalo, NY…

My go to for good gyro and crunchy fries. My only con, I wish I could get more tzatziki sauce. I love to have those for my fries instead of ketchup. The girls who work there I didn’t have much of a problem with.

Great takeout place! Chicken Souvlaki salad is great. And the rest of the menu is pretty solid as far as takeout goes. Ice cream cones here too. Decent selection. Make sure u tip the counter girls a buck or 2… Especially if you’re one of the drunk idiots they have to put up with late nights! Sam is especially rad… Give her a high 5 if ya see her!

Let me just start by discussing my experience as I walked thru the door. Big menu up above with everything jumbled into a tiny sign. With poutines right in the middle. At a greek take out spot? You decide not to highlight greek traditional food? Next I was greeted rudely by 2 young blonde girls behind the counter. They were gossiping loudly and eating behind the counter. Totally disgusting and classless. Then I overheard them talking loudly about the owner vasili. Couldn’t make out most of what was said but I am confident it was something that should not have been discussed loudly in front of customers in the restaurant from the behind the counter. Next, I noticed milkshake machines. And ice cream. I thought yum! I’ll get a milkshake. When I asked the blonde girl with the baseball cap if they made milkshakes she flat out told me no. Then looked at her friend started giggling. So then I asked if the machines were just for frappé only. You see I’ve been in a relationship with an off the boat greek chef for four years, I’m not stupid! After she realized that I knew she was lying to my face and being rude the NYC came out in my and I flat out asked her to make me a milkshake. I AMAPPALLEDATTHISKINDOFSERVICEANDMISTREATMENTOFCUSTOMERSINCLUDINGTHELACKOFRESPECTFORTHERESTAURANTANDTHEIRBOSS. Disgusting!!! I will never ever set foot in the place again. The chicken souvlaki was over cooked and dry. The pita was soggy. Salad was ok. French fries also soggy. Save your money and aggravation. WHY isn’t there one decent authentic greek take out spot in Buffalo!!!

Given their three locations, this place is quite convenient for on-the-go Greek. Calling ahead makes the pick up a little easier but if you have 10 min to spare, authentic Greek food awaits you. They’re pretty consistent, can’t complain for the price & the expectations of in & out service. Gyro & Chicken souvlaki dinners are two sure bets for a great choice!

Waited 25 minutes for a simple gyro wrap. Waaaayyy too much lettuce & tzatziki(about 80% lettuce), wrap fell apart after first 2 bites & they didn’t offer feta. What greek restaurant doesn’t offer feta? Boooo.

Usually when I eat here the service is beautiful! But today… girl no. The girl that answered our phone call supposedly ordered our food but didn’t. so instead of waiting 25 minutes we had to wait an hour and a half and be served after everyone waiting. Just because someone was rushing to get out of work. These girls have to go. and also my friends didn’t receive the fires with their meal. I don’t know how busy it was today but this is insane if you can’t deal with food, get out of food service.

Salads, grape leaves, Greek fries, chicken hoagie, and the best falafel I’ve ever had. Amazing hours as well! Be warned, it’s hot inside in the summer and freezing in the winter… but the take out is always on point.

I just had a falafel… It was not very good at all… I think the falafel might have been ordered from a distributor or something because it was deep fried… Didn’t think that was possible… It was also loaded with red onions… Wayyy too many, and wayyy too strong… I picked off a bunch of them, and I didn’t even finish the falafel, and I still had nothing but onion taste in my mouth after. Yuck, and I am a big onion fan too… Also, the dressing had no flavor, and the lettuce was iceburg… I also got the poutine fries… They were probably the most bland I ever had… No taste here at all… In fact both items I got tasted like deep fryer… The falafel was deep fryer and onion flavor, and the poutine was deep fryer flavor… 2 stars only because last year I got some kind of pita thingies and dip or something that was not all that bad… btw falafel and fries cost $ 12.98…that was with no drink.

I feel guilty for my previous post as my first experience was less than impressive. Turns out, a Greek salad is not the way to go but that there are other delicious options on the menu such as the chicken souvlaki wrap. Over the last two months this has become my go to place to grab a bite when I get out of work late and no other place is open for a decent, debatably healthy meal. They are open until 5 am on the weekends which is straight absurdity. I usually go with the chicken souvlaki wrap which comes with lettuce, onion, tomato, yogurt sauce and chicken on a wrap. The hummus is still pretty standard, but at 1 am when you are getting off a 9 hour serving shift, this hummus is the best thing in the world. Still no whole wheat pita though. Their yogurt sauce is tasty too but they charge extra for it and it’s a very small quantity. Lately, due to the fact that they do not offer whole wheat wraps or pita, I have been going with a side of souvlaki chicken and a side of hummus. This only totals $ 7 and the chicken is insanely flavorful. It’s the perfect late night, satisfying meal that doesn’t leave you wishing you hadn’t indulged when you wake up in the morning. From my experience, the workers behind the counter have always been kind and my order is always waiting for me when I get there. Although this place is open late, it isn’t swarming with drunk kids at night which is also a plus.

I decided to grab lunch at Vasilis today. I’d never been, but had seen their flashy front window and had meant to visit for a while. Finding myself driving by around 1pm I went for it. The first thing I noticed was the lack of traffic. There was a party of three enjoying salads, but they were the only customers I saw during my 10 – 15 minute wait for my order. The girl at the counter was coloring in a coloring book for lack of other work. She’d apparently already prepped and stocked everything needed. So how was the food? I went with a gyro wrap and fries to go. The fries were of the battered sort and pretty good. The wrap was mediocre at best. It was almost completely lettuce. The tzatziki sauce had no flavor and was basically plain yogurt. When combined with a shortage of onion and tomato it was basically just a lettuce wrap and a bit of meat. I like my gyros to have a bit of a bite. A delicious treat that results in your inability to talk to anyone for a few hours because it’s given you some kicking breath! This fell very short. In addition, the wrap itself was more like the brittle crusty outer surface of a good sub roll hollowed out. It broke apart instantly and made eating a messy ordeal. Thankfully all I spilled was a bunch of lettuce… So why go to Vasilis? The answer is instantly apparent as you walk in. You’ll quickly notice a wall of dollar bills with the letters of Greek houses from nearby Buffalo State University. This is late night food conveniently located. It’s not good, but it’s in stumbling distance of numerous bars. I say leave this one to the college kids. Elmwood has numerous other restaurants offering better Greek food for dine in or carry out.

We go here quite a bit for take out. Good option for food to take over to Bidwell and listen to the music in the summer. It has a decent variety and relatively good variety. They are also quite fast. I have an assortment of gripes though. It seems like they often get something wrong with my order or leave something out. It is rare that they seem to remember the tzatziki with my gyro for example and often my salad«without onions» is pretty darn oniony. Also wish they were a little less stingy with olives and cucumbers in the salads. Each salad comes with one olive and two cucumbers(never any deviation from that standard). I guess only sad because my daughters love olives so much. But is easy and close and these small things are not enough to keep us from returning frequently.

I came here on my first night in Buffalo. I decided to explore the neighborhood with a couple of kids from my dorm. I do not remember what attracted us to this particular place but whatever it was, thank you. Pros: They have the best burgers, fries, milkshakes, chicken gyros etc. Whatever you order on the menu, you can not go wrong! A burger with fries usually ranges from $ 7-$ 11 depending on what you put on your burger. Cons: I do not really like using my debit card when I come here, not they have scams going on or anything, but I have found when I make a purchase with my card it will charge a couple of dollars over the actual price of my order. The charge corrects on its own but it takes a couple of days for it to reflect in your account. I have told the girl at the register about this and she said that is just how their system works. I am sure they can correct that if they wanted to but it is not a big deal but if your order is, for example, $ 8.50 and you only have $ 9.00 on your card the order will not process. Besides that, this is a great place.

After a 12 hour day, I can’t even begin to think about preparing a fresh, healthy meal. While my fiancé typically hits up Zetti’s for a big cheesy slice or two, I make my way to Vasilis. I have had a few different items on their menu, but I always come back to their chicken souvlaki. It is delicious, fast and fairly priced for a decent sized portion. Spending less than ten bucks on takeout that I can squeeze two healthy meals out of makes me smile… And, as a little treat, the baklava ain’t bad either!

We live just a few blocks away and discovered Vasilis when we were doing our kitchen remodel and needed food(a few times a week for a few weeks) that was quick but not profoundly unhealthy. This did the trick. The menu has diverse offerings – from wraps, to salads, to a fish fry(and a good one, according to my pretty picky husband – and plenty of VEGETARIAN choices that are ready to go in a flash. Crispy fries, hummus appetizers, rice pudding, and all the other things you expect to find at a Greek restaurant are also on the menu. You can even call ahead. The prices are reasonable; not as cheap as Burger King, but less than a «sit down» Greek restaurant. If there’s one complaint I would offer, it’s about the use of styrofoam containers. Something more environmentally friendly would be wonderful – and would get me through the door more often.

Late night drinking spree in Elmwood? Come here… it’s cheap, cheerful, and fast. Food was decent, but it’s a hole in the wall fast food kind of joint, so you get what you expect. I had a Gyro and fries… they were tasty… I can’t complain.

This place is good for certain things not for others. Just a place to grab a bite when you dont really want a whole sit down experience. Get: burgers, fries, chicken souvlaki, gyro Pass: chicken avoglemodo soup(its like drinking lemon juice) Its cheap, its clean, the folks are friendly enough. Just make sure you check for condiments, sauces and utensils.

I just recently wrote a review, yet I feel the need to update it soley due to the fact that I have been here three times in the past week. Apparently I am on a chicken-souvlaki-greek-food kick, but whatever it is, they are doing it right because it keeps me coming back. It can also be the convenience and close proximity to my house. Or perhaps it is my exhaustion from the work week, pure laziness to look further for a dinner option, and my lethargy has kicked in stopping me from going to wegmans and cooking for myself. Consequently, two chicken souvlaki salads and a falafel pita wrap later, I am giving them one more star. I ordered the falafel wrap on a whim, and I was thoroughly impressed. It was a little dry though, and caused me to steal the greek dressing from my salad that I was saving for lunch the following day to put on the wrap. The reason I can’t give it 5 stars, regardless of my(too) frequent visits, is… more dill sauce issues!!!(see last review). After paying for the dill sauce and not getting it last time, I was determined to not let that happen again. Unfortunately, this time they were out(whaaaaatt???) of dill sauce! I was looking in the fridge behind the girl, like I didnt believe her. Two days later, when I called to grab a salad for dinner I asked the girl on the phone for dill sauce… still out!!!(unbelieveable). So I said ok, please add a side of Tzatziki sauce. Go in, pay for my order(including the Tzatziki sauce), get home… NOTZATZIKISAUCE! Oye!
