I was thoroughly pleased with the food quality for the price. Hard to find both. Go here for solid K-food.

Such a fun neighborhood find! I got the number 1 with bulgogi. Very tender and flavorful. I ended up getting the mild sauce, but next time will kick it up a notch and add Kim chi. The guy behind the counter was great and helped me decide what to order. It’s crazy cheap, lots of sauce options and let’s not forget delicious. I will take pictures next time.

Stopped by here for the first time today. Love Korean food, but usually have to go to Pleasant Hill Rd to get it. Had a bowl with the Pork GU-I and a spicy chicken ssambap and they were awesome! Really reasonable prices, the guys working there were great. Taking some ssambap home for my wife to try… might finally get her to try Korean with me. Gonna bring all my guys here for lunch soon. This white dude thinks GamCho is rockin’.

Fast, fresh made & cheap! I’m a fan. Rice bowl w Bulgogi, kimchee & gochujang was so good. Fast delicious, inexpensive dinner & a great bulgogi to go? You can change out meats & sauces. What’s not to love? Don’t be put off by the exterior or décor. Take it home & enjoy it!

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I walked into this hole in the wall joint, but I’m glad I decided to try it. I went here because I was craving Korean BBQ and based on reviews and location, this place fit the bill. I had the Gam Cho bowl with the Bulgogi I was craving. The style of the bowl was a little different than the Bulgogi I had in Florida before I moved, but it staunched the craving for sure. The meat was seasoned just right. I would absolutely recommend this place for quick carry out. It’s not an ideal place to dine in. The staff was very friendly and courteous.

Solid place for fast Korean rice bowls! Hubby & I both got the ‘Gam Cho’ bowl with bulgogi, which has steamed rice, glass noodles, veggies & sauces. Really well marinated bulgogi & flavorful sauces. We got kimchi on the side & it’s slightly different from the regular but still great! Bigger flavor profile, not just that tangy, pickly taste if that makes sense. I would love for them to have a few more menu items & possibly bring back specials they’ve had before, like kimchi fries. I would definitely recommend it for a quick lunch or dinner! Very inexpensive for the amount of food you receive. Will be back.

I got the pork dup bab with the spicy sauce with kimchi on top with a side of ssambap with kimchi bacon inside. This place is über tasty. It’s on point. It was delicious, flavorful and filling. Can’t wait to order it again.

Holy cow, this place is GOOD! Seriously; we ordered two Gam Cho bowls(one with bulgogi, one with fried chicken), added Kim Chi and the fried rice, and we licked them clean. Although I think I have a pretty diverse palate, it’s always a little intimidating for me to eat Korean food, because I’m not always sure what I should order. This place made it simple, and the owner was SUPER helpful in walking us through it(including letting us sample a couple of sauces). We’ll be back; if you haven’t been here before, you should go. Now.

Everything was awesome. The service was great. Really nice guys. We had one of everything and my husband loved it so much he’s trying to go back today! We have three young kids and they liked it too(they are fairly adventurous eater though). We’ll be back!

I’ve been in a few times and this place never disappoints. Today I got a Bulgogi bowl with a spicy sauce, the customer service is fantastic and I wasn’t sure which sauce to choose, so he asked whether I wanted spicy, medium, or not spicy and took it from there. I think it ended up being a combination of the spicy mayo and something else. But yeah, the most impressive part was the noodles they have… They’re kinda like rice noodles/glass noodles. but also not? I dunno, but they’re listed on the menu as «Japanese noodles» and they’re incredible. Amazing texture and complements the rest of the bowl ingredients very well. Verdict: absolutely delicious. I also ordered the Kimchi Bacon ssambap. Very tasty, but not a lot of bacon flavor. more just adding a savory meat texture to the other things you palate at the same time. Very tasty, still. But not overwhelmingly bacon-y. =] Verdict: A– because I’m really into bacon. All that and a drink for less than $ 8.50? Yes please! …I wanted to order the Korean fried chicken, but I’m already full I’ll be back very soon.

I’m confused here at the high ratings. Maybe the restaurant owner got his friends to post reviews or the quality has been declining. I ordered a korean sushi and a korean burger. The quality was just not there. I know it’s not expensive but I can get a better sushi from publix and a better burger from 5 guys for not that much more money. The meat in the burger I can tell is frozen and just has a bland taste to it. I almost gave this a 3 star rating considering the low cost but ultimately it came down to this question: would I come back? Sorry but nope, so that’s why the 2 star rating. And it’s been almost a hour since I ate there and still I have this nasty aftertaste. Yuk

Imagine a great food truck… two guys are making some great Korean hip hop food like Kim chi french fries with cheese wiz, cool, great, people love it…“hey you know what we should open a restaurant«…that pretty much sums up Gam Cho, really great food truck food in a piece of shit fast-food location. If you’re a foodie, don’t pass this place up…

This is a great hidden gem in Buford. Like others have said it is Korean fusion food that they cook on the spot and it is best to plan to do take out. Calling ahead is probably a good idea as long as you plan to go straight there so you won’t have to wait as long. Also, as others said it is hot inside and no restroom. But the food is a great value and you get a lot. We got the spicy chicken and bulgogi dishes along with some smaller things and they were great. Plan to try different things next like the wings and quesadilla dishes. Good stuff!

Ever since my husband and I moved to Georgia we’ve had nothing but restaurant recommendations thrown our way, most if which have fallen flat. But today we got a reference from a guy who worked nearby and he said we had to try it, but be forewarned, there isn’t any AC. We got the #1,6, and 4. Holy cow! Flavor in my mouth! So good and the pricing is perfect. My husband and I will definitely be returning!

SPICEWOULDBENICE! My husband and I decided to visit Gam Cho for lunch today. The restaurant is located in a somewhat isolated shopping center. It is located toward the front of the center so it is not in a creepy or uncomfortable location. The restaurant is very open and simple. It reminds me of the outdoor restaurants in Cancun. There is no air conditioning but there were fans placed in the main area and running at full blast. We arrived before noon and the temperature was still comfortable. Since this is primarily a «take out» restaurant, there are no public restrooms so handle your business before you come and bring your germicide to clean your hands if you plan on eating in. We had planned to eat in which is why we arrived early. There were only two tables and they were simple and comfortable. The restaurant was very clean and the owners were warm and welcoming. This was our first visit to Gam Cho, so we decided to try different offerings, I chose the Bulgogi with fried rice and my husband tried the Spicy Chicken with fried rice. We both sampled the Ssambap with spicy chicken and with kimchi bacon. I chose my dish because it came with veggies. However, the veggies were more of a garnish than a serving. My idea of a serving of veggies is 2 – 3 cups, not ¼ cup. These veggies were covered with the marinated beef and barely detectable. While the beef was delicious, the rice was very bland and did not appear to be fried as ordered. It was just a simple rice with a slight red tint and no discernible amount of salt. I was actually charged more for this rice but could not tell the difference between it and the plain white rice. While the Spicy Chicken Ssambap was delicious, I did not care for the Kimchi Bacon Ssambap. Kimchi is super spicy while this had no spice at all and the collard leaf was not completely filled. The problem with the Spicy Chicken entrée is that it was spicy like milk, meaning not at all. I felt bad for my husband because he likes his food very spicy and requested to have it spicy but for some reason, it had no spice what so ever. It could have been given to an infant with no problem. Although I did appreciate that the food was simple and clean,(not salty, greasy or saucy), I was disappointed by the lack of seasoning and spice. I would love to see them add more spicy items to their menu and increase their vegetable options.

Husband and I wanted to try this place out based on the Unilocal reviews. The food was pretty awesome! I had the bulgogi and husband had the katsu burger. Portions were fair for the price and DELICIOUS. Menu was simple and the owner was super nice! I will say this is definitely a take-out restaurant. No bathrooms and seating is limited, plus it was kind of hot inside. We didn’t know until we tried the place out! I still plan on coming back for their food though! You won’t find anything like it near Mall of GA.

Two words: Holy sh#t I was skeptical when I saw that this place had a full 5 stars and was so cheap. Something must be up. I went in to grab some lunch and ordered the Bulgogi Quesadilla which comes with kimchi and cheese fries. I had never had fries like that before, so it took a bit of getting used to. However, the flavor was amazing. The kimchi and cheese blend added just the right mixture of savoriness and saltiness. And the bulgogi quesadilla, oh my word. The bulgogi was melt in your mouth tender with an incredible flavor. Everything about it was perfect. When I was done, I just wanted to eat everything all over again. I may go over there for lunch number two. Second breakfast, second lunch, that is how I live. The only drawback is the location. Although it is off a major road, it is in a dilapidated complex and can be a little hard to find. I would gladly stand on the sidewalk with a sign a la the dancing Statue of Liberty guy to get more attention to the restaurant. All I would ask is that they pay me in bulgogi.

This is a Korean take out joint. Yeah they have indoor seating but it’s clearly an afterthought. Everything here is oriented to the order and go crowd. Prices are reasonable, service is efficient and friendly but the choices are sparse(but good). The food here is made upon ordering, so it’s take-out, not to be confused with FAST food. Is it worth the 5 stars everyone else is giving them– heck no! People are just too kind. It’s above average and very good… but not ‘roll your eyes to the back of your head, pull the food away from your mouth to look at it as you chew it good.‘ I was a bit taken aback when I was told there were no customer restrooms. No place to wash hands, but they did provide a giant bottle of Purel or whatever. I may be old fashioned, but I just think a restaurant that obtains 5 stars should really provide a sink. I mean… I’d go back and eat. But just come prepared.

My first time eating Korean BBQ was at GamCho and I’m thrilled it was. Very happy and pleasant staff. I had the Katsu Chicken Burger(only $ 5.50 and its huge!) combo(the combo is $ 7 – you can’t beat the price!) and ordered Bulgogi for me and my fiancé to try later. The Katsu Chicken Burger is basically tomato, cheese, a fried chicken patty and the tastiest coleslaw on top. It’s fantastic! I’ll definitely go back since it’s so close! Go there. Go there now!

The best places are the ones you happen to stumble upon in the most random situations when looking for food. I’ve heard about the«bulgogi burgers» and the other Korean/American fusion foods, in the case of this magical restaurant, the«bulgogi quesadilla». The fries are handcut potato chips fried on a wooden stick(better seen than explained). The bulgogi burger was phenomenal. The buns were thick and soft, not dry at all. The bulgogi marinated to perfection. The cooks/owners were very nice and seemed genuinely happy to serve you. I haven’t even finished my food and I’m already looking forward to eating here again. HIGHLYRECOMMEND.

Love it. Wish more people would try it out. I didn’t really see the whole fusion aspect as it was just korean food. I guess when you take bulgogi and form it into a hamburger patty it’s now fusion. But I digress. Staff was very friendly. Bulgogi burger was very tasty. I was extremely hungry that day so I had the spicy korean chicken burger as well, and it was delicious. Try this place out. It’s nice to see more then fast food chain B.S. in buford! Support our local cooks.

First heard of these guys when my friends and I attended Taste of Suwanee but didn’t actually stop in until tonight with my sister. Unexpectedly, we discovered that this place is more of a order-to-go style, though they do have two tables and seating along the windows if you decide to dine in. The co-owners are very friendly and willing to assist in ordering. The menu is simple and to the point, which works because everything was delicious. Best of all, you get so much food and everything is $ 7 or less! Sis and I even ordered extra food for lunch tomorrow. The food did take a little while, but we definitely did not mind because everything was being prepared specifically for us. They even offered us a sampling of their spicy chicken soup while we waited. This is indeed a rare gem amongst the hustle and bustle of the mall down the street. I hope you consider coming here instead of the typical chain restaurants next time you come out to shop or are in the area. Trust me, it’ll be worth it! Here’s to hoping I can help attract more customers so that they stick around for a long time.

Tried this place for the first time tonight and boy was it yummy! I had the GamCho chicken wings with fried rice while my boyfriend got the Bulgogi and their dumplings. The chicken wings had this delicious sweet and spicy flavor to it while the bulgogi tasted great with the veggies it was over. You get great portions for a great price, and owners are super nice as well. There was only one person tonight so it took a little while to get our food but we were offered a free drink and the place is pretty chill so my boyfriend and I didn’t mind. They have a couple of tables if you would like to stay in and eat or of course you can always take out. It looks like they cook everything to order! This place is such a small hole in a wall, people would most likely miss it driving by.(Its on the other side of the same shopping center that K-Mart used to be in on Buford Hwy and Buford Dr.) Theres nothing special about the décor but its the food that matters right? I definitely will be coming back and trying some of their other items on the menu. :)

Stop what you’re doing and go to Gam Cho!!! This place is a real hidden gem. My husband loved the bulgogi burger on his first visit. This evening I had the bulgogi over freshly steamed cabbage, zucchini, and carrots. Amazing! Came out with pickled radish and a knockout sauce(on the side, so you could add as desired). Hubby had the Spicy Chicken Burger, equally awesome. The star player tonight though was the kimchi bacon fried rice. They marinate their bacon in a sweet and spicy kimchi, then fry it all up together with rice, topping it with even more kimchi goodness and an enormous fried egg. We were a little hesitant of the creamy white sauce on the side, but the tart yoghurt base perfectly complemented the fermented flavor of the kimchi and salty bacon. Please, run don’t walk to Gam Cho! As others have mentioned, it is in a tough location and I’d hate to see it close because no one knows how fantastic they are!
