Love this place. Always been a favorite of mine and plenty of sides and always available. The place is a bit pricey. The only reasons for four stars is service tended to forget about us and the meat even though it wasarinated seemed to lack flavor. Worth a trip… but breakers is better.

Korean food in Atlanta has a high standard since theres so many options to chose from. Sodeulnyuk has a solid menu of food and choices, but its rather typical of any Korean BBQ joint. Walking into Sodeulnyuk, you’ll notice that it isn’t going to be a quick in and out meal. The restaurant is decorated with nice walls and temple-like wooden accents. There are private rooms on the outerskirts of the facility for larger parties and smaller parties get to sit in the middle columns. The menu can be rather overwhelming, but you’ll see the common fairs of any korean restaurant. It was a Sunday morning when I went and was not in the mood for BBQ’ing. I elected to get the spicy beef/noodle soup equivalent(forgot what it was called). The dish itself was $ 12.99 and came out in a heaping bowl filled with noodles, soup and other goodies. The taste was decently salted and heavily spiced. It had many lean cuts of beef and lots to eat. For $ 12.99 it better have. They also brought out small side dishes which you can see from other patron’s uploaded photo. Their puffed egg side dish was fantastic and at the end of the meal, they bring out a bowl of sweet cinnamon soup. It really reminded me of mexican horchata. Overall Sodeulnyuk has a decent menu and the place is nicely served. It is pretty pricey and I believe you can find similar items elsewhere for cheaper. The waitress’s attitude sentiment is shared by me as well. But when it comes to asians who are obviously an older generation in general, don’t ask for recommendations, don’t small talk with waitresses, don’t substitute this and that on a dish. If you can’t pronounce your dish, just simply point to it on the menu. Most asian places have a no bullsh*t attitude when it comes to ordering, but I feel that most folks in the states don’t understand that. Poke and prod as much as you like, but expect cold stares and service in return.

We came here for my dad’s birthday dinner. We ordered of the non-BBQ so we were seated in the center section. The side individual rooms have BBQ plates. I must say that when I first opened the menu I was a bit take back by the prices. I feel they are a tiny bit higher than I had expected, but when the food came out I totally understood. I feel like you get tons of food per order. The seafood pancake was huge! The soups were delicious! The side dishes were on point. Abd the orders for two people certainly can feed three! The waitresses were certainly kind. I needed to change my baby and it was raining. I asked if they had a baby changing station(no), but before I got to the door they directed me into an empty room. It was so helpful. It is weird how my restaurant comments have changed to include baby accommodation availabilities and ease, but it totally matters! Overall, I would go back again. I do want to try the BBQ though.

Me and the kids love this spot and it’s close to the house. The tofu soup and galbi are our favorite.

The food was great and the waitress was nice. The reason I rated them with 3 stars instead of 4 – 5 stars because they didn’t allow me to take the rice with my left overs. The sad thing is I spent over $ 100 in this place and most likely I won’t come back.

This is my first time coming to this restaurant. My date had told me their service was bad previously so we were a little hesitant in coming here but we were craving Korean. But to my surprise they were pretty on point with our order and service. Although, you might have to flag them down a few times to get the waitress attention. The food we order were in stone bowl. I had spicy squid and rice mixed with veggies and my date had veggies mixed with rice. They were both pretty good. Just waiting for it to cool down took awhile is all. The side dishes was the normal Korean side dishes like Kimchi, eggs, potatoes etc. We enjoyed it the first round of it. But getting a second helping, the Kimchi tasted like it wasn’t ready to be served yet. So we had to leave it. All in all, the experience was good. I wouldn’t mind coming back here again to try the Korean BBQ next time.

Have been to only one other tofu house because can’t bring myself to try anywhere else so this was a new experience for me. They have typical korean side dishes, but my all time favorite are the radishes and kimchi. Other tofu houses they give you a grilled fish so I was disappointed when they didn’t have it. I always get beef tofu soup no matter where I’m at. Their beef is chunky and plentiful but I should’ve gotten a level more spicy, nonetheless, it was great! It was more than enough for me and I had to take some to go, which made for a really nice midnight snack over rice later that night. Food and service was great but wouldn’t go out of my way unless insisted upon.

I love this place — their small plate appetizers are delicious and the bibimpop is the best. I also love the kimchee pancake, dumplings, and soondubu. All the waitresses and hostesses are really nice, too.

It has been a long time since I have visited this place. Prices have rised. The side dishes are plenty, but nothing too special. I like how they still give you the steam egg & dessert at the end. They stop serving the mash potatoes side dish everyday like they used to. The food is pretty mediocre. I just enjoy their service. They are not rude or angry like the other Korean tofu houses I have been to. I will probably back when I need a quick lunch.

This was an awful experience for me. I went out of my way to find this place because I wanted to try some Korean BBQ with my wife. My wife wasn’t ecstatic about it and I regret taking her here. We walked in and it was definitely a local joint and frequented by Atlanta’s Koreans. That’s really not a problem for me. The problem was the attitude that was given by the waitress(an older Korean lady) who wasn’t very helpful in advising my wife on anything to try. My wife was overwhelmed by the menu options and I tried to let the lady know she doesn’t like seafood generally or anything that has a bone in it(I know she is picky). I started to pick a few things because my wife was being indecisive and the waitress was clearly being impatient and after I picked a couple of things the lady was just like, «That’s enough food for you» and snatched the menu away from my wife. I was trying to let her know like, «Hey, my wife hasn’t even chosen anything yet!» I won’t comment on the food at all because of this. It was good, but not worth the badgering and humiliation. I know part of it is a cultural thing, but she was extremely rude.

Service is the worst here! WHYDOTHEYALWAYSHIREBITTERANGERYOLDLADIES? why do they have an attitude for no reason? Everytime i go there(not by choice) theres always someone with a sour face like they are mad that they have to actually do their job. They are so many decent korean restaurants that treat you right. Go to any other restaurant in that building. Just don’t come here. Food is expensive and service will ruin your day.

Sodeulnyuk is a Korean restaurant in Suwanee serving an all-around menu of Korean cuisine including BBQ, soups/stews, salads, hot casseroles, rice porridge(juk), noodles(e.g. naengmyeon), grilled fish, and an assortment of other dishes such as bibimbap(mixed rice) and stir-fried plates(bokkeum). The restaurant is located in a Korean shopping plaza not far from I-85 exit 111(SR317, Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road, Suwanee). It’s near Super H Mart, Mozart Bakery, and Umaido(ramen). This is a traditional Korean sit-down restaurant. The atmosphere is casual, yet the place is nicely decorated. This is evident before you even step foot inside the restaurant because the wide storefront features faux stone walls with temple-like wooden awnings and ornate front doors. Similar to other Korean restaurants, the interior has multiple sectioned-off dining areas, compartmentalized booths, and semi-private rooms. One large room can seat up to 35 customers. It’s nice. Many of the tables and walls are made of stone. Some of the tables have built-in gas grills, for those who want to cook BBQ at the table. There’s a big TV mounted atop one of the walls. While the restaurant is several years old, it’s held up well and is very clean. Sodeulnyuk’s menu has undergone many changes over the years. Several items have been removed or added and prices have changed. At dinnertime, you can get a nice meal here for about $ 10 – 15 per person if ordering non-BBQ items(e.g. soup, stew, noodles, rice). If you want BBQ, expect to spend at least $ 20 – 25 per person. These prices are in line with other metro Atlanta Korean restaurants. There are many lunch specials under $ 10 – 11 each. The selection is good. For example, there is a decent variety of many Korean foods such as pancakes(seafood, kimchi, oyster), BBQ meats(in addition to the usual pork belly and beef brisket, there’s spicy pork, chicken, duck, etc.), fish and seafood(octopus, silver cod, Norway mackerel, beltfish, eel, salmon, croaker), casseroles(goat, pollack, beef intestine), rice porridge(abalone, vegetables), naengmyeon noodles(cold buckwheat noodles) with beef or skate(fish) in different sauces, all sorts of soups and stews(from spicy tofu soup to monkfish stew), and 10 different types of bibimbap. I think Sodeulnyuk’s banchan(side dishes) spread is fantastic. The individual banchan plates can vary from visit to visit. One of my favorites is the japchae(semi-translucent sweet potato noodles) served with onions and carrots. At some Korean restaurants, I order japchae as an appetizer by itself, so it’s nice that it can be included for«free» as banchan here. Another more interesting or unique banchan Sodeulnyuk serves is sweet black beans and peanuts served in a sugar-soy sauce mixture. Other banchan I’ve seen include typical dishes like kimchi, spicy pickled daikon radish, pickled bean sprouts, potato salad, pickled cucumbers, and spicy white jellies. In general, I think the BBQ meat quality is slightly above average. My favorite is the galbi(marinated prime beef short ribs). Galbi is served on the bone, unless it’s ordered as part of a dish such as the galbi dolsot bibimbap. I’ve found the galbi here to have more of a bright, reddish hue to it. This makes it look more appetizing and I think it actually is. The meat isn’t as fatty and you can tell the quality is a step above«cheap» galbi. The bulgogi is tasty too. Bulgogi is thinly shredded and marinated ribeye beef. The meat is tender and savory and the flavoring is subtly sweet and smoky. The bibimbap(mixed rice) at Sodeulnyuk is surprisingly good. As mentioned above, this restaurant offers 10 different kinds of bibimbap and I think it is underrated/goes unnoticed because of the overshadowing BBQ options. Dolsot means stone bowl and most of the bibimbap here is served in stone bowls. When the bowls come out, the rice is still sizzling from the heat of the hot bowls. Be careful. It’s neat to hear the hissing and crackling. During this time, the rice is actually still being cooked against the side of the bowl. Some of the best parts of bibimbap are the chunks of crispy/almost burnt rice that you have to scrape off the bowl surface. I do recommend the aforementioned galbi dolsot bibimbap as it comes with one of the restaurant’s most flavorful meats on top of an already good dish. The bibimbap bowls are colorful and come with an assortment of veggies such as shredded carrots, cucumbers, bean sprouts, gosari(bracken fern stems), white daikon radish, and white accordion jellies. Complimentary sujeonggwa, traditional Korean fruit punch, is sometimes served for dessert. Service is good. The Korean ladies I’ve encountered here speak a sufficient amount of English. A server call button is located at every table. Overall, Sodeulnyuk is a solid, versatile, all-around Korean restaurant that works whether you are dropping in for a quick bite or want to host a group dinner.

I ordered the tempura udon and was fairly disappointed. It tastes good, but they give you VERY little noodle; it was mostly vegetables. My mom ordered the yuk gae jang and said it tasted bland. Side dishes are okay but not a fan of it. However, service was good and the lady was nice. We went in 30 minutes before they closed, but they didn’t seem to mind. I’ll probably return to try something different.

Service could be better. Nice ladies but they don’t know the finer points of service. The side dishes and beef were good(I would try and use the Korean terms but English is what you get). I felt like I was overcharged. At lunch ours short rib be bim bap was $ 8.99, but after my dad and I had lunch, the bill was $ 29.00. Maybe this is the Sunday«no lunch» price. I didn’t want to deal with it. Good food. I eat Asian food regularly, however, I would appreciate it if I wasn’t treated like the ignorant American I am at some of these establishments.

I’m Korean(born and raised in Korea), so my expectations may be a bit different from some who’s not from Korea. I went there few days ago with my parents, and the food wasn’t up to our expectation. It’s not bad, but there are other Korean restaurants in Duluth area that are better than this place.

I rarely give all 5 stars. Sure some of you may have found something negative about this place, but I haven’t. It’s my first time and I am very happy so I’ll be coming back. The food is really good, the sushi is made fresh(the rice is fresh too which is much better than what anyone could say about sushi at a Chinese place), the service is excellent and the sushi«chefs» are competent and even funny.

A ramen craving brought us up to Suwanee for some Umaido. We timed it so perfectly that we got there right in time for their lunch break from 3 – 5. So unfortunately we had to settle for another late lunch option. We happened to park right down the strip from Umaido at Sodeulnyuk, a Korean BBQ restaurant. Noting the average rating on Unilocal,we were all a little hesitant, but knowing to get better bbq we would have to back south… Nah. We impulsively entered the restaurant, which was nearly empty at this hour. We were seated in a private room when we told her we wanted bbq. We ordered a bbq combo, which includes various types of meat. We weren’t especially hungry so we didn’t want to gorge on AYCE bbq. The banchan were fresh and our favorites were refilled when requested. Our servers cooked our meat for us, and brought us steamed eggs and soups. If this bbq location weren’t so far from Dunwoody, I would try to make it out here more often. Not bad for my low expectations.

I was pleasantly surprised to walk in and have a great experience here. I’m a white guy and the friend I went with is black. They didn’t treat us any different than two Korean guys walking in. The servers were very nice and warm, and helped with the menu. Contrary to other reviews of this place, I found the service to be exceptional. They were really awesome. The food was pretty good. I’ve had a lot of Korean food around here, and even in Korea. Heck, I’m dating a Korean girl, so I think I can say I know Korean food well. I ordered the Dolsat bibimbap. It compared to hmarts, it was good but not amazing, not as much beef and too much mushrooms, but still good. In my opinion the best Dolsat bibimbap I’ve had in this area is myungawon on pleasant hill. My friend got the soon dubu and he enjoyed it. The banchan was decent, nothing great. Overall, the food was pretty good but not the best in the area. Service was awesome though, the Korean ladies were so nice to us.

This place is amazing. My first time to a Korean BBQ place. Almost every table has a grill built into the table and a huge overhead fan. You get to experience BBQ right in-front of your plate. There are easily a dozen side dishes that come with the BBQ. The food and flavors were excellent. I don’t know what was ordered but it was EXCELLENT. The best Korean I’d had in my life. Go with someone that knows the ropes if you haven’t done Korean before.

I really like Sodeulnyuk. Your meal comes with an extensive spread of banchan. Everything is very fresh and authentic. So far, I’ve tried the galbi tang and the daeji bulgogi here. The galbi tang was mild, savoury and reminiscent of my mom’s homemade Chinese stews comprising slow-cooked beef. I preferred the daeji bulgogi, which was spicy but also slightly sweet too. Prices are reasonable, under $ 10 for many dinner entrees.
