We got the meatball sub and turkey sub. Very fresh and yummy. Great quality but slightly pricey

I love this little Italian restaurant. I can’t say anything about the pizza, but their pasta dishes are amazing. They also seem to be always improving on their garlic bread, which I am in danger of consuming in lethal amounts. Their lasagna is one of my favorites in the city. Staff-wise, they seem to have a small crew there, but it’s appropriate for the size of the restaurant. They tend to keep to themselves except for when bringing out the food I ordered, only occasionally asking me if everything is ok. But they are very friendly there. This is a great place to grab a quick tasty lunch or dinner by yourself or with a couple of friends. Especially if you might have an appointment at the nearby Lenscrafters.

Sorry to be a buzzkill but I did not like the meatball hero at all. For me, the meatball hero(or sub as they call it) is pretty much the litmus test for an italian place that I’ve never tried. And in their case they failed miserably. It was the sauce. Tangy, awful, ick. I kinda kept thinking to myself that perhaps the sauce went bad, was rancid or something. I couldn’t imagine people thinking it was good. I mean really, how can you mess up the sauce? I wanted to love this place. I was excited to go and discover a new hidden gem in Burbank, but nope; I’ll stick to Tony’s Italian Deli or Pinnochio’s on Magnolia. Bummer. Just being honest.

I honestly can’t figure out why this place has soo many good reviews. I just moved into the area, went over because of Unilocal cuz of the high reviews and proximity to my home. I had the linguini and clams and my wife had a simple pasta with tomato sauce. my linguini and clams were awful, no flavor, extremely bland. the clams smelled really fishy like its been left out in the sun. my wife’s tomato sauce was seriously something out of a can. i think chef boyardee sauces taste much better than the sauce we got. that night, i had food poisoning, seeing as this was the only place we ate that day, its kinda easy to narrow it down where i got food poisoning from. never going back… ever

Quick service and decent menu. I’ve had pizza there before and it was good, but last time I was there(about 2 weeks ago) I got their turkey cold cut sandwich. It was pretty good, I’d recommend.

Pizza is good, but I am annoyed by their $ 20 minimum delivery. We ordered 2 small pizzas and the total came out to $ 18.60. They refused to deliver it to us unless we ordered more food. I said«For $ 1.40 you won’t deliver?» The answer was«What’s the difference between $ 18.60 or $ 17 or $ 15? We have a rule.» And so I cancelled the order on principal. What a TERRIBLE business choice. $ 10 minimum, maybe… But $ 20? None of their large pizzas are even $ 20! You lost local customers for life over $ 1.40. How did that rule pan out for you?

Please note this review is based on the coffee and not the food. I hope the food is better than the coffee. I ordered a caffe americano and it was watered down. It literally tasted like hot water. They have an espresso machine to make a great cup of coffee but unfortunately they did not deliver. Seriously I would have been better off going to Mc Donald’s and getting a coffee there. Management if you read this please improve on the coffee and provide fresh cream instead of the instant cream packets.

Friend and I found ourselves starving in Burbank yesterday afternoon, and the positive Unilocal reviews drove us to check out Pietro’s. We were looking for a really delicious pizza, and unfortunately the pesto pizza(pesto, ricotta cheese, fresh tomatoes) we ordered did not hit the spot. The crust was bland, as was the pesto. Its saving grace were layers of crushed pepper that I dropped on top. The service was good, and the guy at who took our order was very nice(though I can’t help but feel a bit misled after he told us the pesto pizza was a good choice). I’m not sure how their other entrees fare – they also offer pastas, salads, and desserts – but I won’t be trying their pizza again.

My favorite pizza here in L.A. after 16 years of almost giving up looking! Great tasting thin crust. My favorite is their cheese pizza with fresh basil on top. I’m also a fan of their Linguine with pesto sauce. Light but very flavorful. The two restaurants previously in this location didn’t last very long but I’m very happy to see Pietro’s still here after two plus years. After they changed the lettering on their window from dark blue to white it has definitely improved the visibility of the place! Parking is on the street. I’ve never had trouble finding a spot when going in to pick up. Last week I was there just around their closing time and the dining area was busiest I had ever seen it! I think word is getting out. The production company I worked for would recently order our dinners here. Oh, and the warm garlic bread roll they sometimes serve with to-go orders,(if they don’t run out), soo good! Also, thumbs up on their Tiramisu! It may not be fancy,(you order at the counter), but it’s comfortable & good. I keep thinking if they could dim the lights and play authentic Italian music it would be even better. But so far everything I’ve ordered there over the past two years has left me happy. I now drive out of my way to get my pizza here.

My girl and I were craving some Italian after work. Since I had just recently decided to start doing reviews again, I suggested we try something new. After searching for Italian in the area(using the Unilocal app for the iPhone of course) we settled on Pietro’s. The interior looked very homey. We were greeted by a friendly cashier who was simply browsing on his laptop since the place was empty. He handed us paper menus since it was a bit difficult to read the electronic menu. We ordered a couple pasta dishes: she got the chicken alfredo with penne and I ordered the fettucini and clams in butter sauce. Both came with a side salad which was nothing special but not bad either. The pastas came out in a timely manner and the portion was decent for the price. Both tasted satisfying, but the best part of the meal for me was the accompanying bread. Overall the whole experience was average. We would return for a quick, cheaper Italian meal. Next time we drop by, I think I’ll try the pizza.

Great local place. Go early or late to avoid the high school crowd. Warm and friendly inside and the portions are large. Recommend the pizza and the lasagna — not recommended, the fetticini sauce.

After a day at six flags, a few of us where looking for an italian restaurant near their hotel in burbank. So after checking out a few reviews on Unilocal we decided to check this place out. It looks like a hole in the wall family run restaurant. I ordered the meatball sub and my gf ordered the lasagna with meat sauce. I have to say this is the hands down best meatball sub I’ve ever had. Everything was made from scratch. The bread was had a nice crunch on the outside and was moist and soft on the inside. The sauce was very flavorful but it did not overpower the taste of the meatball which was delicious. The lasagna was pretty good as well. Everything was so good i ordered a chicken pesto panini to go. I will definitely make the drive out to burbank once in a while to eat at this place.

I was definitely not impressed by this place. I decided to give it a shot based on the glowing Unilocal reviews and hate to say was let down. The interior is cute and cosy and I am very much into giving my business to mom and pop businesses, but the pizza was mediocre at best and sandwich was equivalent to Subway. I had Chicken Parmesan sandwich. The chicken was old and hard, the sauce was bland and the only positive was the fresh crispy bread. Friend ordered pepperoni pizza and it was very thin with a puddle of grease on top. I did not try it as it did not look appetizing at all, but he said it was terrible. We brought the remainder home and a roomate tried a slice. He said it was okay but he would not pay for it. I wanted to like this place, especially being the one who picked it, but in all honesty I will not be returning.

Pastrami Sandwich is great. Décor reminds me a lot of cafes in Italy. Very good find, despite the strip mall location, which actually makes its very convenient. Thanks Unilocalers for helping me find this place!

In a word. Amazing! Trust me on this, you will not be disappointed. Great food, good service, clean environment and excellent coffees. The fresh breads are perfection, I recommend the garlic rolls. I had a salad and sandwich and both were delicious and so fresh tasting. Highly recommended =)

I was hosting a friend from out of town who was craving Olive Garden, bleh: P Good thing there’s Unilocal. We drove over the hill from Hollywood to give this place a try and were not disappointed. I had the Pietro’s special pizza which was great. The crust was soft and flaky which I loved and it was loaded with toppings of pepperoni, sausage, olives and fresh mushrooms. The service was great and I loved the unpretentious and casual atmosphere of the place. I’m glad to know this place is around and will be looking forward to come back to try the other items on the menu.

Finally got a chance to check out Pietro’s last week and I can say that it’s good. Real good. I had a large Salami Sub and it was delicious. The bread was fantastic and the meat and cheese was of really high quality. The restaurant itself is actually really nice and the service was fast and friendly. I will definitely be back and can’t wait to check out the other stuff on the menu!

The girlfriend said she was craving pizza so as usual we used Unilocal to help us out. Pietro’s was the lucky winner and a good find it was. The location is near a street corner so you can park on the sidewalk. Its a relatively small place they have probably about 6 or 7 tables if you choose to dine in. The staff was really nice and accommodating. We ordered the Pietro’s Special Combo Pizza which had pepperoni, sausage, olives and mushrooms. That pizza was so bomb! Check out my picture. It’s nice to dine in and eat pizza rather than eat it outta a pizza box for a change. Pietro’s has a TV in their restaurant and we were watching college football while we were there. So I’m sure they show NFL games on Sundays and Mondays. I read that their sandwiches are good here too so it’s safe to say we’ll be back here soon.

My husband and I live a couple blocks away and let me tell you, that’s a dangerous thing. WELOVEPIETRO’S! We usually get the lunch special which comes with a large sub(we get the sausage and pepper or the meatball), chips and a drink. It’s big enough to split, but sometimes if we’re starving we just order two. The combo of perfectly crispy/doughy bread, sauce and melted cheese is perfect. The pasta is pretty good, the pizza and desserts are delish. What we love the most is that the people are super awesome, they even recognize us on the phone. We’ve brought several of our friends there too and they all love it. We need Pietro’s to stay put for a long time!(We loved Krust and even had our engagement party there, but we are so happy that Pietro’s has been successful in that spot.) You gotta check it out.

Pietro is one of my favorite Italians and he just recently moved to Burbank… AND he brought along his fantastic oven! Off of the main Burbank strip in a low-profile location on Verdugo, this location is actually nicer than it’s sister restaurant in Pasadena. They have the same great food as Pasadena, even friendlier service and very reasonable prices. My faves: 1. Eggplant parmesan sub. Piping hot and delicious. If you like eggplant and even if you don’t, this is a must try. 2. Antipasto salad(the small is huge and the Italian dressing is good). 3. Gisella’s special hot turkey sub. This is the sandwich that started it all for me at the Pasadena store. Oven toasted bread with provolone and peppers. Ask for jalepenos to kick-up the spice level. 4. Turkey panini. Tasty pesto, with a nice flavor combination of artichokes and sundried tomatoes. 5. Pietro’s special combo pizza. Very good. 6. Pietro’s hoagie. Tasty salami and mortadella sub. 7. Salami sandwich. Try this one toasted. 8. Meatball sub. Just like their eggplant parm sub, but with meatballs… what else? Pietro’s oven-toasted delights put Quizno’s, Subway, et al to shame. Perfectly toasted bread and flavor. I’ve never actually met him, but Pietro is the man. The absolute oven-toasting-master.
