Nothing fancy but fast and super tasty miso soup. The Futo Maki was fresh and well made. Look past the unassuming exterior the chef does a great job. Very friendly and we will visit again if ever back this way!

Love this cute little Sushi restaurant. The hostess Janice is a living doll, so sweet The vegetarian udon is delicious and the avocado sushi are really good. Parking in back really helps.

Quiet, clean and friendly. Good sushi with happy and sociable staff. Tuna, octopus, salmon and butter fish were all very flavorful, well prepared and nicely presented. Will definitely return.

Went here with mom and dad, overall a very bad experience: Sushi: we ordered butterfish, which was ok-ish, hamachi which wasn’t very fresh and a variety of rolls that were very… very…VERY subpar. Dinner: we had ribeye teriyaki which was MICROWAVED… very embarrassing for a restaurant. The steak was basically leather. Zarusoba was super small, sauce had NOGRATEDGINGERORWASABI. I had the tempura platter which had so much dough I can’t even remember tasting shrimp or potato etc. Dessert: me and my dad ate green tea ice cream so frozen there was ICECRYSTALS Overall: Rock bottom quality and sky high price = bad mood for you

My son and I love this place It doesn’t have all the fanciest rolls but what they make has become our comfort food. Reliably good sushi every time. Plus we just adore the owners. They remember our order every time. When we enter, they greet us like we are old friends. They Genuinely are interested in our lives, ask about our week, and remember what’s going on with us. It’s hard to get that kind of small-town feel service anymore and we just love it.

I usually get a diffrent waitress that is really nice and i normally come here for sushi only today i came here for terriyaki and it was nasty! Sushi i recommend but the terriyaki i dont. I let the waitress know i wasnt very pleased with it and she got defensive and i told her ill pay for the salad and soup that came with it and ill order 2 piece nigri sake she said i would have to pay for the rice too i told her that im not doing cause in order for me to enjoy my rice i have to eat it with the terriyaki chicken. I told her no way im paying for the rice also. She copped a little attitude and said fine. I mean if i wasnt pleased with my meal there shouldnt be a problem espeacially since im spending $ 14 for the meal. It was definitely not worth $ 14 as i said though the sushi is good.

We went for lunch and it was the best Katsu donburi I’ve ever had! Also the staff were super sweet and they let us take photos in the back room, that was styled like a little traditional Japanese home! It was so cute! I completely recommend this place to anyone who loves Asian food.

Okay, I go in. Ask, if they have my favorite, Ikura. They did. It was wayyyy off! old, past, and bad. I turned it back. I am sick now, craping– food poisoning. To top if off they charged me for half an order, as it was negiri and I’d eaten one piece. I told them it was bad, off etc… they acted like they didn’t understand… Whatever!!! Don’t go there!

Unilocalers BEWARE! Prices on the takeout menu are outdated, a lot of items have gone up $ 3 in price.(I got my takeout menu 6 months ago when i moved to the neighborhood). Food was good, but not at these prices. Heres a breakdown of my bill, rainbowroll– $ 13.95, cherryblossom roll– $ 13.95(even though they gave me a california roll under the tuna instead of salmon & avocado), futomaki roll– $ 6.95, a five piece hamachi sashimi– $ 9.95, a TINY bowl of rice– $ 2.50, a TINY bowl of miso soup– $ 2.50. After taxes ended up being $ 55. For that price, i could have gotten more bang for my buck elsewhere. If prices were more resonable, i would have given 4 stars for the quality of the food & the service. This is the only place I’ve been to that charges $ 2.50 for miso soup lmao

We’re lucky to have a great family friendly sushi restaurant on Broadway! Every time we come the owners greet my children by name, sometimes it has been a month or two and they’ll remember. They also know what we like to order… and they do not complain about the mess that we inevitably leave behind! Give them a try. Also, I love the baked butterfish roll, it’s delicious!

Service, BYFAR living up to other Unilocalers’ words. They are super nice and super welcoming when you walk in… I had a late lunch break, and my co-worker always walked into the office with their Katsu Don Buri! But when I brought it back to the office, it looked disappointing. The katsu wasn’t as crispy as I thought — YES, given that it was take-out. The«crispy» covering is really thick and soggy with an over-easy egg on top, but everything didn’t feel like they put effort into making the dish. The sauce was poured all over the chicken and rice, so it was like a big mixed box of Katsu, rice, egg, and cabbage salad.

Rarely do I ever try a restaurant without first hitting up Unilocal to see how they are rated. The good thing about doing that is I’ve saved myself from some regrettable dining experiences and possible stomach maladies. The bad thing is I’ve grown a little too dependent on it and have lost the ability to properly blink( ) a restaurant. But I dared to try Aji Yoshi Ya blind and then refused to see how the restaurant rated until after dinner. Overall, the food was fine and a whole lot better than some of the reviews I later read would have lead me to believe. Moreover, the folks running the place really put a good effort in presenting their version /interpretation /vision(what have you) of Japanese food. Look, I’m willing to overlook the authenticity of a cuisine(to a certain degree, of course) if there is a concerted effort to care for the customer and make the meal as enjoyable as possible. In the end, it turns out what I rated it at the time(3 ½ stars) was also how Unilocal rated it. *If you wanted to read a theory on how Unilocal and I were able to come to the same conclusion, check out the link below:

I was in a rush a I had to order to go. Tamago nigiri and crazy roll. The tamago was decent, not as flavorful as most but the crazy roll is good. The fish tasted good and the sauce was perfect. Not too saucy like some other sushis restaurants. The waitress was super nice and gave me tea while I was waiting. I would recommend.

I walked by a few times during the week and every time the place was empty. It was a little concerning to think about whether the raw fish would be fresh but when I did try it, it was very fresh! The sushi is made well and you can watch it being done at the sushi bar. There’s a variety of rolls with unique mixes of ingredients and they were great! I loved the nigiri.

I was in town for a week strait and ate here every single day(sometimes twice a day). It has a parking lot in the rear, which is rare in this area, and the food is delicious. The sushi is good — But the shrimp tempura/beef teriyaki combo is unbeatable! Whenever I needed to get away from my hotel, I would go here. So I started calling it «my home away from my home away from home.»

Went in for dinner 20 minutes before closing. I was the only patron in the restaurant. The service was very attentive and fast. Agedashi Tofu: The amount of sauce was too little and the amount of tofu was too much with a very large portion of bonito flakes on top. The tofu was fried nicely and the flavor of the sauce was good without overpowering. Wish there was more sauce. Salmon Nigiri — Generous amount of fresh salmon. However, I thought the rice was too mushy and maybe had a touch too much vinegar. Tuna Nigiri — Same as the Salmon, rice was too mushy but the fish was excellent. Uni Nigiri — The special, the Uni was delicious. It’s melt-in-your-mouth goodness that I wanted more of. At $ 8/order(2pc), it is a good deal too. The rice problem was not as pronounced with the nori. Spicy Tuna Roll — The rice problem is not as pronounced in a roll as it was in the Nigiri, and the tuna tastes pretty fresh.

Pretty decent sushi and the edamame was fresher than some I’ve had in San Francisco. Try their butterfish and the buffalo rolls, both were really good. What I liked as well was their honesty since their menu actually states which rolls come with real crab or imitation since most places in San Francisco won’t tell you til you ask. Great service too will definitely go back.

11.13.14 Food = OK. Service = superb. The waitress called us «dear» every time she dropped off a roll. Felt very warm and welcoming. Standout dish: butterfish tataki.
