If you want really good sushi/rolls and do not care about the look of the resaurant, then this place is for you. It’s off the beaten path and a total dive, but wow the rolls and noodles are worth it. Great for take out and not too pricey. Good find!

Oh my this was a GREAT meal. I ordered the chicken udon soup and one of their featured sushi rolls and they were delicious. Have you ever enjoyed you meal so much that you’re dad to tell yourself to slow down to enjoy it? That was my experience here. And the servers were working their butts off and super nice about it. Please eat here! You’ll thank me!

What can I say that hasn’t already been covered? Fantastic service, wonderful free spicy tuna roll(thanks to Unilocal coupon!), excellent miso soup, crunchy tempura veggies, simple salad with yummy dressing and the terriaki salmon was perfectly cooked, juicy and flavorful. And did I say how friendly the staff was?! Wow! I am only here for 10 days but I’ll be back!

I am glad that I found out about this place! I’ve done takeout twice and the food has been excellent. The chicken teriyaki entrée comes with soup and salad. It’s perfectly cooked. The sushi is fresh and delicious.

Tried to get into Mokutanya for their $ 1 oysters but they didn’t have any tables for two hours. Looked up some other places to eat and ended up at Mr. Teriyaki which is all but the exact opposite of what we had originally planned. This place is super hard to find. Drove right past it and almost aborted once we saw it was located in some abandoned looking office park. There were a bunch of cars out front though and this was already the third place we stopped at for dinner. The good reviews and check in offer helped too. Ordered a teriyaki salmon + california roll dinner set. It was freaking huge. It was honestly too big if anything. Two pieces of salmon and a full sized california roll. They could’ve given me half the portion and I wouldn’t have thought anything of it. The check in offer was for a free spicy salmon roll and my bf also ordered another roll. We had a ton of food leftover. Oh and the food came out crazy fast. This place is oddly populated by many actual Japanese people and staff despite the food not being that great. This is definitely a spot you go to for cheap and large portions, not some high quality sashimi. It was a Tuesday night and there was a steady flow of customers and to go orders. Also saw a huge party platter being prepared that looked awesome. Noticed the macaroon ice cream sandwiches on our way out but didn’t feel like taking the credit card out again. Will definitely stop by next time I need a quick fix to my sushi craving.

I have been coming to Mr Teriyaki since last year and I come at least once a week. This place is so busy during lunch! But the crowds are usually gone by 2pm if you want to avoid getting in line. I love the food and service here! They serve the best sesame chicken and gyoza. I can’t believe how crispy they make it! If you want to try couple rolls, ask the waitress! I loved all her recommendations. Tell the waitress what you like! She will give you a better idea what to choose! Here are some names of my favorite rolls! Hilton, Christy, Lobster, Burlingame, Dill sake, Millbrae, and Hawaiian

Delighted to find this little hidden gem. Wow. Loved everything. We had rolls and suschi only. The service was superb and friendly and attentive, even though the place was hopping, packed to the gills. The food is well-prepared and unique rolls available as well as classic. At the end, the Brick brand macaron stuffed with ice cream is a MUST. We got a coffee and a vanilla, but had a get another coffee-flavored before we left! This is a true find and we will be back!

Came here for lunch today. The waitress that took our order definitely hates working here and it shows. I asked if the chicken they used was chicken breast to which she said no. I then asked what part of the chicken they used to which she said«I dont know». The entire time we took our order, she had a snotty«can’t wait to leave» attitude. The chicken I ordered ended up being chicken breast. Food was decent but won’t be coming back if I have to deal with that rude waitress.

This place is very hidden, you’ll have to drive to the back of the parking lot to see it. This is a difficult review for me because I really disliked the food(but that’s my taste), the waitress was friendly enough(but not that nice), and the other customers were so hilariously weird… Okay in terms of food. Chicken teriyaki: Rice, salad, and the chicken teriyaki– the chicken was tough, though the sauce was good. The salad was a little drenched still from the rinse phase, and the dressing was all at the bottom. Orange slice was really delicious though. :D The spicy salmon: really spicy– couldn’t taste the salmon at all. Not my thing. The lion king roll: Very standard, very sauce heavy. Not too much my thing. To be honest, the people who were here were all extremely happy/satisfied with the food.(Hipster looking young white couples and older generation asians) A few of them seemed to be regulars. Final words: I didn’t like this food at all, but some people really do. That might be you!

When you drive here you think your GPS is confused because it is definitely hidden, but don’t let that deter you! This place is super awesome The waitresses are so nice and attentive. The place is small, but that gives it charm. They have a fun variety of rolls, ranging from traditional to abstract. They are also presented beautifully. If you are looking for a hole in the wall, bang for your buck sushi spot, then look no further :)

We are SO happy they are now open on Saturdays! :D The sushi is always delicious, fresh and the service is great without fail – Mr. Teriyaki never lets us down! It’s a family run business and everyone is friendly, welcoming and they work hard. We have to give a shout out to Charles who constantly gives excellent service. We’ve tried almost every sushi restaurant in Burlingame/San Mateo/Millbrae and Mr. Teriyaki is easily our favorite. Our go-to items: –California Crunch Roll –Lion King Roll –Spicy Deluxe Chirashi Sashimi –Unagi Nigiri –Spicy Tuna Hand Roll –Miso –House Salad

Mr. Teriyaki has reincarnated a few times. He(it) was first the dad, mom and daughter operation. We all can remember how nice Ester and her family were. They remembered you by name and as a regular, you got a free dessert. This great family has now moved up north. The next owner, well, you can say they did not live up to expectations and we stayed away for awhile. They were skimpy on the sushi and quality of all of the items had gone down. I think they wanted to recreate everything the same way but sadly missed. Well, maybe the third time is a charm? Third owner took over and repainted the place and made the kitchen area bigger. It’s a korean-based owner and his wife. They are not as friendly as the first two owners but could be more of a language barrier thing. The sushi chef owner turns the sushi out pretty fast when busy. The takeout is time reasonable. We have ordered takeout about 4 times and the all of sushi, gyoza, chicken teriyaki, etc. is consistent. We love the specialty rolls like the Jessica roll. As for dine-in, when they get busy, they can get stressed. The younger waitperson would let out a deep sigh when more people showed up. The water glasses were never re-filled and generally not that friendly. Net net on the Mr. Teriyaki 3.0 is a 3 stars. 2.5 stars for dine-in and 3.5 stars for takeout.

Arrived for dinner on the weekend and although the place seems like a small Mom & Pop shop we got seated immediately by the windows and promptly a menu was handed out to us. The first thing I noticed was there were only 3 people who worked here. A mom taking and delivering the orders, the dad that made all the food and a worker who washed the dishes. The lady was nice and attentive even though there were about 5 other groups she had to tend to. Another thing I noticed was because they were Korean, they had some Korean-inspired dishes in the menu as well. CALIFORNIAROLL: They were solid. Yummy with not too much rice although I’m sure it is filled with Surimi«crab». SPICYSALMONROLL: This was a freebie for checking in. They were yummy although quite filling. SESAMECHICKEN: This was definitely a Korean dish and it’s very yummy! All the pieces were fresh, crunchy, light and flavorful with a yummy sesame sauce! I would love to order this again: D BEEFTERIYAKI: Now this was a bit… misleading because what came out wasn’t really beef teriyaki but more beef bulgogi with some teriyaki sauce on top. It was odd; the combination of bulgogi flavor mixing with the teriyaki flavor. We would probably not order this again. SALMONSASHIMI: This was a delightful surprise for the bento selection as most other Japanese restaurants will charge extra. The pieces were thick and soft. Although it wasn’t as fresh as other places it was still pretty good. VEGETABLETEMPURA: Good freshly made tempura. What can I say? All in all for how much food they give you it’s worth what you’re paying for. I would enjoy coming back here again to try some of their other selections. I would also love to bring some friends here however I would have to imagine coming early since the place is a bit small. Overall, I would recommend trying out this place even though it was slightly confusing to get here since it’s basically in the middle of some warehouse-looking places.

I first came here because of the Unilocal check in perk of a free spicy salmon roll. But I’ve been here 4 times now. Why? The fast service, price, friendly service, and ease to find parking. It seems like a family owned place. The sushi is not overly expensive, and I get full from one roll. They have quick turnaround for making the rolls. I’ve also had the beef udon on a rainy day. The beef is very tender. The broth is not too salty. Plus, they have macaroon ice cream for dessert. They have a wide selection of rolls and use five star rewards!

Conveniently located among Burlingame warehouse-business offices. They seem to attract a good lunch crowd. Little disappointed to find the tempura simply deep fried in thick batter. It gave me a heartburn afterwards and it must be the oil.

I am always on the lookout for good places to stop for lunch after landing at SFO. Mr Teriyaki fit all of my criteria: within a 10 minute drive from the airport, quick, cheap, and not fast food. We stopped here for lunch after a recent trip to SFO; I definitely recommend it for lunch if you’re looking for a place meeting similar parameters. The restaurant location is a bit random. It is located on the first floor of a business park. The restaurant is quite small with maybe 8 tables total. The staff was all very friendly and our food was ready quickly. There isn’t much ambiance to this restaurant, so I wouldn’t recommend it for a date. The food was great and the lunch prices were very reasonable. I got the chicken Teriyaki rice bowl which was $ 7 and came with miso soup and salad. They also brought complimentary edamame to our table. All in all delicious food for an unbeatable price. I will definitely be back on a future trip to SFO.
