Just had breakfast at what used to be my favorite place in Burlingame to get an egg croissant sandwich. They just changed the ownership and maybe ironing few things out. New owners should stop cutting corners. Put more than one orange slice on the plate and stop using cheap American cheese in your sandwiches. Order to go shouldn’t look and taste like an afterthought. Lovely location though and coffee is good.

Great place to start day with coffee and breakfast. Croissant sandwich with avocado is so damn good. I crave for the same sandwich almost every day.

I support small businesses but please do not call your place Le Croissant Café and put items from Costco for clients. Extremely disappointed

Very cute café in Burlingame but items are a bit pricey. I’m not sure how it happened, but our bagel, croissant, and hot chocolate turned out to be close to $ 30! Eep… Maybe the lox we added to our bagel was an extra $ 10? Lol. Aside from the price, the food was good. Croissant was delicious with just the right amount of crispiness. We got the sausage, egg, and cheese croissant and it hit the spot. The lox bagel was also very good. The lox was fresh and not too chewy. I’ve only recently started to enjoy lox on my bagels, and this experience definitely helped. Each plate also comes with a piece of fruit and ours came with some yummy cantaloupe. The food also came out really really fast. So that was awesome. Pretty much came out after we sat down. We also got a large hot chocolate and boy — that was one large cup. I had my husband get a large since I wanted some but we really could have shared a medium or maybe even a small. But if you love your hot chocolate, you will be very excited at the size of their large cups. Overall, good experience aside from the price.

This place is incredibly bad! My Mother and I went in today to get a quick lunch. We ordered two cups of soup, a latte, cup of tea and two turkey sandwiches. Mine was a turkey and ham with Swiss on sliced sourdough and my Mom ordered a turkey cranberry on the same sliced bread. Hers was $ 7.75 on the menu board, mine was $ 7.00. The two cups of soup we’re supposed to cost $ 3.50 each. The latte was $ 3.50 and the herbal tea was $ 2.20. The total bill was $ 31.50! Outrageous for what we got! So as I ate the food I looked at the receipt and found that almost all of the prices were more than the posted prices! I told the owners that they overcharged me and they said, «No you ordered two bowls of soup and we only charged $ 3.95 each, instead of $ 4.95! Then when I asked why my sandwich was $ 7.75, they said it was because I wanted lettuce and tomato on it!» Unbelievable and I told them that we would never go back to a place where you get ripped off for mediocre food! Please don’t waste your money or time. So sad because the previous owners were lovely and had a nice café that these people have destroyed! Beware and stay away from le croissant café on Broadway Burlingame!

Went here with my mother on the way to SFO to grab an early bite to eat on a Monday morning. We were pretty early, and may have even been the first customers of the day. For my breakfast, I ordered the ham, egg, and cheese croissant. The croissant was tasty, but I felt that it didn’t have enough eggs and was disappointed to find out that the ham was just sliced of deli meat. I also ordered a palmera(elephant ear) pastry to go, which was good – just the right amount of flakiness and sweetness. Overall, the bakery items here(palmers and croissant) are very good, however I felt like the ingredients on the croissant were a little underwhelming.

This was a memorably bad experience. We found this place via Unilocal,I was hungry so my bf and I stopped here for breakfast. We put an hour on the parking meter, but when we walked into the place and saw it was just a casual pastry and sandwich place I said to him. «well this won’t take an hour!». I was wrong. We were about second in line, pretty much everyone seated had already been served, so in theory our order should have been fairly simple. I ordered a caprese sandwich, hot cocoa, and chicken noodle soup. My bf ordered the Americana. While our orders were being taken my bf mentioned that she forgot to write down one of my orders, so after re-stating it it was written down. 35 minutes after ordering what should have been a simple order, we had received NOTHING. Not even the hot chocolate. But everyone AFTER us who had ordered a hot drink To-do were receiving their drinks and some food. right away. I was getting upset by this and said something. At the 40 minute mark we finally got the caprese sandwich and hot cocoa, but it was not even started until after I mentioned it. At 43 minutes my bf hears his order being told to the chef. At 47 minutes all the ingredients that was in his order… was given to the people in line AFTER us. Along with another one of their orders. After 50 minutes we still did not received the soup and Americana so we requested our money back. This experience was baffling and discouraging.

TL;DR — Typical breakfast fare with service being on the slower side. We had the oatmeal, croissant sandwich, scramble and a baguette sandwich. They all tasted fine, but due to the lack of staff and the smaller location, all the dishes came out 5 – 10 minutes apart. This is definitely great for smaller parties/orders/to go orders. Presentation was ok, nothing special. Service was present, but nothing too welcoming. I would say this is one of the better brunch places in the area that isn’t congested on weekends.

The outdoor seating and décor of this place is cute and relaxing, but the food was pretty disappointing. It took forever for all four people in our party to receive their orders. Everyone else was already half done with their plates when I got mine. The florentine croissandwich was«ok, nothing to write home about» according to my boyfriend. I got the Le Provençal scramble and it was very sub-par. There wasn’t much flavor in the scramble which had spinach, tomatoes, cheese, and mushrooms. It could’ve used some salt and pepper. I told the waiter I wanted whole wheat toast but ended up with a croissant instead… Probably the most disappointing dish was the Le Petit Dejeuner(French breakfast) that my mother ordered. $ 5.50 for a cup of coffee, OJ, and croissant with butter. It wasn’t much so i convinced her to get it with a side of «cheesy scramble» for $ 3 more. What we got was a pretty sad, small plate of regular, bland scrambled egg. There was no cheese or cheese flavor of any kind to be found. My family and I left there feeling semi hungry and thoroughly confused.

Disappointing especially after reading all the favorable reviews. Waited 30 minutes for a Florentine croissant sandwich where it was: — Cold: Yes, 30 minutes for a pricey breakfast sandwich where even the egg was ice cold like it was cooked ahead of time and came out of the fridge. — Soggy: The croissant wasn’t toasted and I’m pretty sure it was a Costco croissant — Bland: No seasoning on the cold eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, or spinach. Even the cheese just added to the sad breakfast situation With all of the options around here, I try to make it to as many of these small businesses as I can to support the community, but this money would have been better spent SO many other places. My time and money are long gone, but it’s not too late for you! Save yourself from this lack-luster and utterly disappointing place. You’d be better off driving through Jack in the Box… seriously.

Best breakfast ever! Coffee and croissants make a perfect breakfast. I started with a raisin croissant with a soy vanilla latte. The crossant was flaky and buttery and went perfect with the latte. I wish I could have gotten the latte with regular milk but I’m sadly lactose intolerant. It was refreshing to see a place offer non dairy substitutes without making you pay more. I decided to have a croissant with eggs, cheese, and bacon. I have never gulped something down that fast. It was that good. To wrap it all up, the service was great and the wait time for the food was average. I definitly recommend this restaurant. Will come back if I return to San Francisco;)

The croissant breakfast sandwich with eggs, ham, and cheese is EGG-cellent. The buttery/flakey croissant is such a nice way to deliver these ingredients. My wife had the Florentine croissant sandwich which is also nice but I preferred the ham. The place is small(about 6 – 8 small tables) but we had no problem getting a table on a Saturday at 11:30 am. The waitstaff were very nice as well. It was nice to see that there are parking lots off Broadway that allow you to park for up to 2 hours, unlike the one-hour parking on Broadway. Just bring your quarters…

*Food: Although portions are a bit small compared to the price, it was still pretty good tasting. My friend ordered a Mocha Latte, I tried a bit of it and it was pretty good. There was a stronger coffee flavor compared to most mochas and it wasn’t too chocolaty. I ordered the Vanilla Latte and must I say, this was quite delicious as well. The vanilla was not as strong but overall it deserved a thumbs up. We went for brunch and I got the Egg Scramble — Spinach, Mushroom, Tomato. TOBEHONEST… the portion did not worth $ 8.50. I do LOVE how they give you 2 pieces of fruits haha. My scramble was pretty good, it didn’t taste too greasy or saucy, however, I finished it in like 5 minutes. Not because I’m hungry but because the portion was small. *Atmosphere: The shop itself is small but there are outside seats with umbrellas haha. I like the umbrellas! They had the old vintage metal seatings and being in the 2 seat tables makes the whole brunch so cute! *Service: I like how the waiter came to our table right away to take our order :)

See my checkin photo. Great service, delicious food, no interminable waiting for a table when your stomach is growling for a tasty breakfast, and they don’t skimp on what they give you. For my croissant sandwich, it was piled high – something to sink my teeth into. The croissants are top notch with a thin, delicate crust. They are accommodating with special requests. My husband ordered a small side of strawberries to go with his oatmeal. Small extra charge, no problem. The only thing that would make it better is organic ingredients but that would put it in a higher price tier. It’s a terrific place for breakfast on the peninsula.

So, you know that really rich girl who despite being very rich still dresses in grunge/bohemian attire? Like, despite the fact that her boyfriend is a money machine making $ 4,000,000 a year, and despite the fact that you need to be buzzed in through an iron gate to enter her mansion, she still wears ripped jeans, a Joan Jett t-shirt, and faded flannel? She’ll still do middle-class things like bum a cigarette or borrow someone’s phone. Or cry. You want to know her name? Her name is Le Croissant Café . Le Croissant Café can’t deny its baking genius. It does it’s best to downplay its quality by having such things as a comically cramped space. But their croissants are as good as any a douchy Frenchman can make, and the experience as a whole has the potential to resolve your relationship with God. People, I’m not kidding — this place is ridiculous, off-the-charts… This place defies petty congratulation, but it is the croissant I Ever Had. The croissant is embryonic, it’s mother’s milk in buttery flaky richness, and the nutritional employment of the cosmos. Put this place in your planner.

My sister loves the coffee from here, however I found it to be a little too burned for my taste. I can appreciate that they serve their lattes with milk on the bottom, and the coffee on top, when I make them myself, I also like to serve them separated :) However, they put garlic in breakfast sandwiches(what? why?) and took forever to prepare the said coffee :(

Love this place! The croissant sandwich with mushroom, avocado, and egg is my jam. They also serve a full breakfast menu, but I am always in a rush and stick to the quick breakfast items. The owner? or lady who takes orders is always so sweet and makes you feel so welcomed… I love her! and I absolutely love that they create coffee art in my Vanilla Latte every time, even though I get everything to-go. Great place for a quick bite, or a relaxed breakfast and/or lunch.
