5 stars. Great place in a walkable location. I came here for breakfast 2 days in a row while visiting the area. They have a great selection, great in-house roasted coffee, and healthy options. This will be my go to breakfast spot when I’m in town.

This is an adorable little spot, and I went here twice during my stay at a friends in Burlingame. They have a pretty nice menu and everything I had was good. You order up front and they bring the food to your table, so you don’t have to tip but no server service if you prefer that. The prices were reasonable with most breakfast items at or under $ 10. I tasted the omelette with artichoke, had the spinach and cheese sandwich on brioche which was great, and had the steel cut oatmeal. The oatmeal was pretty plain, I didn’t taste any cinnamon but it was hearty and a huge serving for like $ 6. It is very cute in here, and it seems like they serve wine at night.

Do do like sharing your cup of «Joe» with strangers? If so, this is the place for you. Order your espresso, when it gets cold ask them to re-steam/heat it for you, they will be oh so accommodating to re-heat/steam it for you. When and if anyone questions the the sanitary practice of this action(taking a cup that some stranger has already drank out of and using the same steaming device they use to make new drinks) the owners son might just tell you to «take it up with the owner». When you try to talk with the owner the manager will just tell you that,“his name is David and that he is in at 6:30; I’m sure he will listen to you, we have be in business for 20 years and no one has ever gotten sick”. This was our third visit to there location, coffee was good, French toast was also tasty, pastries are yummy as well, but today we tried the waffles and they were crispy hard on the outside and rubberized on the inside, gross. As for the owners son he has had a bad attitude 2 out of the 3 times we went in; and not just with us but with other customers as well. Maybe Daddy should come in more often… As for me third time was not a charm!

One of the best places to go on Broadway. Always has seating, good place to study, read or hang out. The workers are generally nice and helpful. Good menu and not too expensive. The food is amazing and they give you a lot! So be aware :) Some things are easily two meals, but so good. The coffee is decent but nothing amazing. Only sad things is they do not do breakfast Monday and Tuesday. Also, that less than $ 5 warrants cash or a 25 cent extra fee.

Hands down my favorite coffee shop in Burlingame(hey also serve good food, wine, beer). Usually quieter(otherwise they play good music) than your typical starbucks/peet’s so I love going here to get work done or meet with a friend. It is also family owned!

Great spot to take in brunch or spend some time reading or working. The layout and natural light is what makes this coffee shop a great spot to spend a couple hours in any kind of weather.

The chicken Caesar salad is bomb– homemade croutons. The wedge fries were delicious but they were cold. We ordered Togo but came within 15 minutes and our stuff was waiting on the counter. Maybe they should have a heat lamp to keep the food warm. We also got the fried raviolis and they were cold– but not just from waiting on the counter. The sauce and raviolis seemed like they were just taken out of the fridge. I nuked them in the microwave and they tasted a but better but definitely didn’t seem fried. We’ve eaten breakfast here before and it was good so we’ll try them out again!

The review got me there telling me there was plenty of room to work. They served me the best cup of coffee I have had in the bay. I go to coffee shops for work three times weekly from San Jose to SF and this is a definite spot as a regular.

We’ve been long-time fans of Il Piccolo, the place where the locals have coffee, as opposed to the Starbucks across the street. Dave Armanino is an affable fellow and he seems to know all the regular customers by first name(and there are many!). The coffee and tea drinks are quite good and there are numerous pastries in a glass display case…(the coffee cake«crumbles» are excellent!). Il Piccolo began offering lunch and we’d never bothered to try the place. Well…what a discovery! They have some salads and a soup and perhaps a daily special… The Rigatoni pasta($ 10.50 at this writing) was exceptional… a delightfully flavorful and mildly salty Bolognese sauce… two slices of bread accompany this and we expected some industrial, cardboard bread as you’ll find in many places in town… but no! Really fresh, soft, delicious bread, too! What a pleasant surprise.

So… I’m far from my regular hood but headed to a meeting on an early Saturday morning… looking for some caffeine. I see a Starbucks and a parking spot right in front so I figure that’ll do. Then – I spot Il Piccolo across the street. spouting Italian espresso… yes please! It’s a nice size café with self service ordering and plenty of tables. I’m handed a menu and see a goat cheese, mushroom and artichoke omelet and that’s way too appetizing to pass up. I get my coffee(perfection) and head to a table. The Beatles are playing and there’s now a line of regulars waiting for their brew. It takes a while for my food to show up, this isn’t ‘fast food’ – and when it does, my oh my. I wish I had brought in my phone to show you this perfectly cooked entrée. It could’ve been at an elegant dinner in a fine restaurant. This omelet was perfection. Thin folded egg, creamy but not over-powering goat cheese, smoky roasted mushrooms and delicate artichokes. It was so fab! I had a few potato wedges which were sprinkled w Parmesan. Delightful. Now – the bathroom was yuck. I was bummed to see dirty floors, funky walls, and a leaking soap dispenser that was puddles under the garbage can. Gross. Hope they read this because sometimes the cleanliness of a bathroom in a restaurant says a lot.

This place is great. Luckily the spot I usually go too was closed so this was my option I chose. The coffee is real good here and they have the best sweets and bites too eat. The customer service is excellent. They make me feel warm and welcome. The place is very clean, in face spotless even. The place is soo clean I would probably lick the table if I spilled a crumb. I Love the water here. IT quenches my thirst excellently. The bathrooms are very clean. I love the ambiance, the atmosphere and décor. I will be coming here over and over and over again, believe me.

Il Piccolo is awesome! I highly recommend this local business as a place to stop by during the day, as well as to work with for your catering needs! I rented out the café for my wedding Rehearsal dinner on a Friday night, and also had them cater/deliver lunch for our wedding party the following day. Elizabeth(the manager) was awesome to work with. I was so impressed with how accommodating and flexible they were to meet our needs and make it a great evening! Elizabeth worked with me to develop a fantastic menu that met my budget and my group’s needs. We had about 27 people, which fit comfortably in a long table on the left hand side of the caffe. The food was delicious, from the home-baked breads to start, to the frisee salad, roasted vegetable anti-pasto, ravioli, chicken, and assortment of cookies for dessert! It was a great, relaxed atmosphere for our group and perfect for what we wanted. I was also very pleased with the catering the next day for our lunch. We just ordered off the regular menu and had a selection of sandwiches, fries and hummus/chips. Everything was delivered as we wanted, and on-time! We’ve also been before to get coffee and breakfast. The breakfast burrito is a good sized portion, and very good. I enjoyed my latte as well. THANKYOU to Elizabeth and Il Piccolo!

Wanted to give this five stars — it has excellent laid back ambience, big open windows on a sunny day and some great music to relax to — Dark Side Of The Moon, Layla, Eagles etc. Really friendly helpful staff too. Only disappointment is that apparently their kitchen doesn’t open on Mon & Tues day times, so I had to settle for a rather dry oats’n’nut slice. Will definitely plan to return — just not on a Mon or Tues.

This shop has a fragmented and eclectic indoor space(there IS a TV in the back corner). They leave the front open so the breeze comes in. There is some sidewalk seating. The offer many pastries, none of which seemed to be gluten-free. My cappuccino was served in China with a saucer and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Overall a fine experience, but not in the indie coffee house top rank.(Although I really wanted to know what those footballers were talking about at the next table… where’s my MI technology when I need it?)

Big windows, plenty of seating, free wi-fi and coffee and pastries = perfect place to hang out or work/study. Unfortunately, I was working, but it helped that I easily found a table near the window on a nice day, and the iced latte I ordered was pretty good. To be honest, I don’t have much of a review here, but as mentioned, it’s a good place to grab coffee, hang out or work/study.

This coffee place has a great and lively atmosphere, nice jazz music and delicious coffee, a nice alternative to Starbucks! When I first came to Burlingame I fell in love with il piccolo caffe very fast and whenever I have a chance I try to come back. I love they keep the windows open all the time. They have some nice options for brunch, most of them you can see exposed in the counter. The barist is very nice abd friendly guy. You have to pay cash below 10 $, so be prepared :)

Nice local vibe café that is seriously WAY better than Starbucks across. They will do coffee any style you like and you get beautiful seating inside and outside. They also have fresh squeezed orange, carrot and beers juice that they store in a fridge. It is CASHONLY place but it totally worth ATM hassle.

3.5 stars sounds about right to me. We were driving around at the all too famous brunch hour in downtown Burlingame and that’s on me. If I want to eat breakfast in my town, I need to do so before all the hipsters head out cause those folks flood the entire town like it’s Home Base in Oakland and it’s rave season! After cruising by our top 5 breakfast spots and noticing the line of hipsters at each and everyone, we decided to try something new. We drove by this spot and it looked nearly empty, we found rock star parking and decided this was the place to be. It’s nice inside. Very casual atmosphere, relaxing and live music was in the air as we walked in. Bluegrassy, folksy tunes, but hey, nobody asked for my opinion prior to booking these dudes. Coffee was ok. Not amazing, not terrible. Just ok. They stop serving the full breakfast menu at 11:30 and we of course, found ourselves in house around that time. They do offer the breakfast burrito and the french toast during lunch, so we went with the burritos cause, ya know, we Mexican and all. Breakfast burrito was HUGE, freshly cooked eggs, very crispy bacon and this wonderful jalapeño cream cheese spread. Enough to split, but we typically don’t make that decision until we are close to finished with the meal. I know, I know. A planner such as myself should know better. I like this place and I think we will be back for more. I highly doubt it will be the go to place for us, but I definitely think it’s worth a visit every now and again.

Very fortuitous find. All because our actual target is closed on Saturdays. Who does that? Piccolo Café is easy to like. Cozy and has a quirky schedule. Sun drenched window seat if you’re lucky to find an open spot. Small bites from pastries to the long lost Peruvian dessert Alfafor. Strong Coffee. Various flavore of Italian Sodas. Very nice staff. Two or was it three wifi. Oh yeah! Ample amount of tables and chairs. Outside seating. Metered parking in front if you have that karma parking on full throttle. They stop serving lunch at 2:30 and who closes at 5 pm? Piccolo does. That’s why they have no bathroom light. They don’t need one. Before the sun sets they’re gone! Catch them before then :)
