This 5 rating is from the heart (and hair!) I went to Diana last night and had not done anything with my hair for a 1 ½ years. It was long, rough, tons of split ends and frankly, I was so embarrassed. Right off the bat, Diana made me feel very comfortable, safe and was non-​judgmental about the whole thing. Phew. She cut off 6 inches and colored my hair. She took her time to study and understand my hair and thus, recommended a Brazilian blow out. Since, I like easy, non fuzzy, no blow dry kinda maintenance, she suggested a Brazilian blowout. As a result, my hair now is smooth, shiny, no frizz, and looks healthy. I wish I could show you a before and after pic — it’s AMAZING! I feel younger, and more confident. Diana saved the day for me. (no, am not being cheesy) And I wholly recommend her services. The Brazilian blowout was a GREAT recommendation.

Marina has been my go-​to person for hair for a few years now. She does a fabulous job and really responsive and flexible – scheduling with her is a breeze, and my color always comes out great.

This is a raving review for Diana at Trenz. (I left off a star because the treatment didn’t actually work) I have super curly, long hair. When I was looking to do a brazilian blow out, she spent two weeks texting with me giving me ideas and answering my questions before i ever scheduled an appt. Then, even though I ended up not being happy with the treatment (it didn’t work), she came by my house two weeks later and hand delivered a hair cream/​serum in the hopes that might help. C’MON NOW! Who does that? Diana. That’s who.

Jesse is great! My first encounter with her was through a groupon, and I wanted to cut my hair short. I was nervous to cut it short however she made me look really good! My husband loved it! Now that my hair is long she is great at managing my frizzy, wavy, slightly straight hair. Lol! I also did a Brazilian blow out with her twice, and loved it! For having a bit of grey hair she hides them very well with non-​ammonia dye. Also, if I want highlights she provides me with a light subtle look, and each time it was perfect! I finally found a stylist that I connect with and is very personal! I hope to stick with her for a long time. It might be difficult to get in contact with her right away, but don’t give up!

It pains me to rewrite this review but as much as I like Jessi as a hair stylist, I literally haven’t been able to get in to see her for the past year due to a completely dysfunctional scheduling system. Unlike most salons, Trenz doesn’t allow you to schedule by phone let alone online. And let me tell you, texting Jessi doesn’t work. I’ve tried 3x over the past year. By the time I’m ready to schedule a haircut, I generally don’t have the patience to wait a week or more, have a long back and forth and to send multiple reminder texts to coax a response to make an appointment. It’s super unprofessional.
I gave it 3 tries and a year, but I’ve had it finally. I’m out.

I have been here few times. Color, perm, cut, all very good quality and better price than other salon in millbrae or San Bruno. Only one time they couldn’t receive me as a walk-​in all other time I felt warm welcomed and they done a great job! Will come again since I am just around the corner.

This review is for wedding hair + makeup for Diana.
TRIAL: I went to her house in San Mateo and did a trial hair and makeup and brought examples of what I was looking for. I was looking for an updo for my hair and a very natural look for my makeup. She had all the makeup and hair tools ready to go. I was obsessed with how she did my hair! I really think this is her bread and butter. I wasn’t in love with the makeup during the trial the first time around but we talked about what needed to be tweaked, she made a few tweaks and it came out better.
DAY-​OF: Diana came to my hotel and was on-​time and as pleasant as ever. She did my hair exactly like the trial and did the few tweaks we talked about during the trial for my makeup.
PRICING: I originally reached out to Diana because of her great reviews and very fair pricing. It was actually the best pricing I could find in the area.
COMMUNICATION: I found the communication to be the most difficult part of the experience. I had to repeat myself a few times via text and email to ensure we were all on the same page about time, location, price and style. I tend to be a very organized person and a bit more sensitive to that than most people, so it was a bit frustrating at times, but everything definitely worked out in the end.
OVERALL: I would absolutely recommend Diana based on her skills, great attitude and price!

Diana is amazing! She did my hair for my wedding and it came out better then I imagined! I briefly told her what I wanted and she worked her magic! She was referred to me by a friend and I am so happy she did!!!

Jesse is the best! I feel blessed to have found her via a groupon/​coupon. Been going there for about 2 years now and I love my hair and get a ton of compliments on the color. I have blonde highlights and Jesse does the weave as good or better than some of very expensive salons. You won’t regret going to her!

My hairstylist Donna is awesome! Donna has been cutting my hair for the last 20 years and has always shown courtesy and professionalism.
The salon is clean and well maintained.

I just moved to the San Mateo/​Bay area and was looking for a hair salon that cuts long hair. Diana was recommended to me by one of my Hawaiian friends so I knew she would know how to cut long hair. She was amazing! super sweet, listened to what I wanted, kept my hair long (unlike other hairstylists I’ve had who’ve chopped off my hair), and made recommendations about how to style my hair. her price is very reasonable and she’s super quick! I am definitely going back! thanks Diana!

Jessie is bar far the best in the area for highlights. I’m super picky about the color of blonde, how close to the root, etc. and she does it perfectly every time! She is truly amazing and if you’re a blonde, I would definitely give her a try!

Jessie Berta at Trenz salon is THE BEST in this area with color and highlights.
I am hands down, by far, the most high maintenance client she has. (I used to fly to San Diego to get my highlights done, before I found her.) I am extremely particular about my blonde highlights and lowlights to say the least.
Women stop me all the time to compliment on my hair. I have heard I have the most perfect shade of blonde highlights! Jessie also suggested to add subtle dark blonde lowlights, and I’ve trusted her to choose what she thinks will look best. For all you hair snobs, I highly recommend her for highlights and color.
She also specializes in hair for weddings, and her work is beautiful.
Jessie is sweet and personable, and always texts back right away to get me in her books.
I have been loyal to Jessie for 3 years, and my sister and mother now go to her. Jessie’s pretty much stuck with us. :)

I walked in to Trenz one Saturday hoping to get a color touch up. I had never been to this salon, but I really like the location, and I frequently shop/​get nails done on Broadway. The salon was super busy, but I felt so lucky that Jessie asked me to come back at the end of her day. I am so glad I did!!! I have had her do my hair three times now, and I love it more every time! She really has a technique for contrasting highlights with lowlights. Jessie was really easy to talk to, and made sure I was happy with my hair. I am so pleased with her work, and her amazing blow dries are the finishing touch! I am so lucky to have found her!!! The owner of the salon, Donna is so sweet and introduced herself during my first appointment. Such a positive atmosphere here, not pretentious at all. Highly recommended salon!
