It’s hard to find a breakfast menu under $ 10 nowadays and if you’re looking for a decent simple breakfast for a good price, this place is good. I had a big boy omelet with home fries and rye toasts. I like that it came with fresh avocados. I did need to sprinkle some spicy sauce to add more flavor which I normally never do. I got the free donut with a check-in so I was super full after the whole meal. Over all I think this place is more towards 3.5 stars but their price and a donut brings it up to 4.

Best breakfast in Burlingame that does not cost $ 15 a plate. Love the smoke and fire omlete!

Start your breakfast off right at Royal Donut Café. Been here once, visiting the bay area and i was certainly satisfied with my experience. If you’re experiencing overwhelming hunger pangs for pancakes, waffles, donuts and omelets, then rely on Royal Donut Café to provide your stomach the edibles it deserves. I, thankfully, had their bay shrimp omelet, which is a must-have here. I admired the fact that they use bay shrimps over the larger ones because there is a shrimp or three in every bite! Fear not; it isn’t overwhelming. It delivers the ideal taste that will get you aching for seconds. Before waltzing off, be sure to grab their donuts. Get a dozen if you can. Two dozens if you’re feeling generous. Service was sweet and fast. Their servers really know their stuff and can turn tables quick and painlessly. We were in and out in 30 minutes. I remember this because our parking meter was set to 30 minutes.

Holy portion size, Batman. It was super busy, even though we arrived by 9:30 on a Saturday morning, but we were seated immediately because we opted to sit at the bar(which made for a cool experience because we got to watch everything being cooked right in front of us). Country Fried Steak(5⁄5): eggs, toast, the steak, hashbrowns, gravy. I asked if I could sub biscuits for toast, and mistakenly got a big olé order of biscuits & gravy and a charge for it, but I didn’t complain because it was so close to the Southern food I’ve been craving since moving out here from Bama. :)

So yummy! My husband and I ate at the bar. We got to watch the cooks make our food which only made us more hungry. The husband got the biscuits and gravy while I enjoyed the Belgium waffle with Nutella and fresh fruit. I couldn’t help myself to not to try the biscuits and gravy. So good! The best comfort food.

«Absence makes the heart grow fonder» — bay area style. When da kid lived in Burlingame, Ca we would try and visit a couple of times a year. The normal routine was to fly in early morning(after a red eye flight), get the car rental and then head to Royal Donut Café to get our breakfast/coffee fix and a box of donuts to take to da kid. It was a given that this was what we were going to do. It’s been over a year since da kid moved from the Bay Area and now we realize how good those breakfasts and donuts were. This Royal Donut Café location is a small diner type of operation with a limited donut bakery offering delicious pastry selections. They are located on Broadway as opposed to the trendier and more upscale Burlingame Ave about a mile or so down the road. The place has always been pretty clean and the servers really nice and efficient, even when it got really busy. Even when we came on a Sunday morning they were always cool, calm and collected– they never went ape sh*t :). We always came for their breakfasts, they have some nice plate specials that come with free beverage including freshly squeezed orange juice as a choice and also toast.(make mine sourdough toast please) Their bacon is pretty big and crispy thick slices rule the day. Pancakes and waffles are done nicely, the eggs are prepared the way you want them. I always order over medium and they never failed to execute them perfectly. The hashbrowns were nice and crispy on the outside, tender inside. Simple breakfast fare that was executed perfectly. Really nice service, comfortable seating. The donuts were great too, our favorites were the chocolate frosted cake donut and the apple fritter– which was big enough for two. They have a Unilocal check in special where you get a free donut, can’t go wrong with that! Lots of metered parking in the back. Because we came early in the morning parking was never an issue and the times we visited in the late morning we always found parking too. This place reminds me of a similar operation we used to have in Hawaii, Kings Bakery. Great food with friendly service. Oh Royal Donut Café how we miss thee. We look forward to visiting you again one day, hopefully soon :)

My Eggs Benedict featured *perfectly* poached eggs, and delicious slices of Canadian bacon. I was very, very satisfied with the Benedict. You can choose home fries or hash browns as an accompaniment. I went with the home fries, and they were a disappointment. After I ordered, I noticed the next few orders that went out all had the hash browns. They didn’t really look that good to me either, though. Maybe potatoes aren’t their strong suit here. But, especially considering the fact that we’re talking about a donut shop here, I’d say the Eggs Benedict WAS the bomb! I did the Unilocal check in here and got a free donut as a reward(you can choose a donut or a breakfast pastry). I had a white cake donut with chocolate frosting, but I could only eat half because I finished my Eggs Benedict first. They have espresso beverages here, and I had a delicious double latte. I was very pleased with my latte! This probably would’ve been a 3 star review if I evaluated the food alone. But I have to kick it up to 4 stars because the employees are super nice, and the place has super comfortable booths with overstuffed upholstery. I’m a man that really appreciates a comfy booth, and this place has ‘em. Mikey C. says: Don’t make the same mistake I did: eat the donut first!

Holy bajezuz. All the reviews are correct the food is soo good I wish I lived in CA. Just to come here. I was visiting from NY the free donut was if not the best donut I ever had in my top 10 and my avocado turkey mushroom Benedict was amazingly good. If you’re near you must stop by and have breakfast or brunch. Oh wait the OJ! Do not forget the OJ!

Discovered this place through Unilocal. No wait time towards closing hour. Original furniture still in tact for a diner experience. Customer service was ok. The chicken fried steak was smothered in flavorful gravy. Potatoes, however, were served soft. The whip cream and strawberry sauce overpowered my taste buds when biting into the french toast. Overall, good place for quick brunch if you are in the neighborhood.

10am meal and we ate chicken fried steak! What I ordered: — Chicken fried steak with scrambled eggs, hash browns, and white toast — Queen’s omelet(no lie, it is called the queens omelet and comes with chicken apple sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, and american cheese), along with a cup of fresh fruit. What can I say, I love eating meat for brunch or breakfast. It’s pretty small in size but their food definitely did not disappoint. The service was great and it does get a bit packed. Also, they definitely had a lot of variety with their donuts!

Wonderful Experience! Wish I could give them 10 stars! I placed a large order online this morning(10 items) for pick up. When I showed up the girl working behind the counter was putting together my order. She was very friendly! She labeled each and every item so I knew exactly what everything was. She then went over the entire order with me verifying everything was correct. She also included a bag of salsa, hot sauce, ketchup etc. And utensils. Everyone was very happy with their food!!! Will definitely be ordering from here more often. Great for large orders as they have online ordering.

This place has great reviews. So we tried it based on that. My egg and pancake and sausage breakfast was pretty good. However, my husband ordered pork chops and eggs based on the picture in the menu and was sorely disappointed. They weren’t even close. The pork chips were actually really gross. The waitress asked what was wrong because he didn’t eat any of it and he explained that they weren’t what he had expected and showed her the picture. She said«oh» and made no attempt to rectify anything. «Oh well» was the overall attitude. Good coffee. The price was a bit high — the free donut for checking in on Unilocal was good.

This was a great find on Unilocal. We came in pretty hungry and over ordered! This place is small and I had called ahead of time to see if we needed a reservation– they held a 2 top for us while we made the 10 minute drive. The service was solid and the ladies who took care of us were very friendly and helpful. I love biscuits and gravy and when we saw that on the menu we decided to share it. It was 2 fluffy biscuits cut in half and smothered with gravy. It’s southern girl approved. I ate my half and then stole a few bites of hubbys. I had the chef special benedict and hubby ordered a spinach, mushroom, and tomato benedict. His was more standard and came with regular hash browns– the hollandaise was light and lemony and the dish was good! I’d order it again. I had the chefs special which was a spicy crab benedict– English muffin with a crab cake, avocado, poached egg and a spicy hollandaise– i opted for breakfast potatoes on the side. I think I was just full of biscuits and gravy, but maybe not. This plate was massive!!! I ended up pulling the English muffin out and eating one half without it. The spicy hollandaise had a great kick and I loved the creamy avocado. I would come back and order this again– possibly to share with someone b/c it’s a lot of food! With your Unilocal check in you get a free doughnut– i took mine to go b/c i was full to the brim and couldn’t eat half my benedict! I’ll be back, it was delicious.

You will smell like a deep fryer leaving this place. The food is heavy, the check in for free donut is great, the place isn’t too big, and there usually is a line in the morning. Country fried steak — this was good. Not amazing, but decent. Biscuits and gravy on the side — this was good, but not enough gravy. Ask for extra. Decent place to try, but not worth waiting for.

I’ve already been here twice and I love this place! The food is so good, hugely portioned, and so decently priced. The people here are nice and efficient. It’s an American diner owned by a few Asian people(I think), but the food is so good! The biscuits and gravy is seriously the best I’ve ever had in my life! And their country potatoes are equally as amazing. I seriously love everything about this place! Expect to wait a while if you come on a weekend since the restaurant isn’t very big and it’s incredibly popular. But the lines go by quickly and the wait isn’t too bad compared to other popular places. If you’re looking for filling and yummy breakfast/brunch, then look no further b/c this place is everything you wish for and more :)

Simple, delicious, reasonably priced breakfast food. Review is for the eggs benedict breakfast with canadian bacon… eggs perfectly poached, with deliciously crisped hash browns… i don’t know if i was hungry but these were the best… crispy, nicely seasoned(generous portion) hash browns! Cost approximately $ 10.50 with coffee Service was quick, friendly and efficient… great place to stop for breakfast and grab a donut on the way out. Friend paid with credit card so i guess its not cash-only anymore as one reviewer stated. Put my name down for 4 and wait was about 10 minutes on a Saturday around 10:30 am.

I love the service here, my family and I have gone here since I was a little kid. It is so heat warming to see the waitresses know our name. I know they will treat everyone with the same hospitality if you aren’t a regular. My mom loves their omelettes and their freshly squeezed orange juice. You can ask to substitute egg whites if you want to lower your cholesterol intake. My sister has a soft spot for their awesome pancakes with choclate syrup and whipped cream. I love the corned beef hash, hash browns, and bacon. I swear you can’t go wrong here. If you check in on Unilocal you get a free donut!

I’ve been here a few times and really like this place. The service is really friendly. I’m a big fan of breakfast food and they do it right. Their meals include coffee! Got the eggs, sausage patty, hash brown, and English muffin. Everything tastes excellent and was well made. The hash browns were delish. Crispy it not dry. As a bonus, the donuts here are awesome!
