When you first walk in this subway you think everything will be okay. It’s clean, air conditioned, well lit and looks better than your average subway. But it won’t be. To start off, while selecting my bread I was informed that they were out of all breads except for two. Okay then, whatever, I just want my sandwich. The guy starts making my meatball sub and I can tell he’s scraping the bottom of the container. Only after giving me the last three meatballs does he tell me I won’t be getting a full sandwich. You’ve got to be kidding right? Nope. Well can I get a new sandwich? Nope. I had to pick another meat choice to have a half and half sandwich. Wow this sucks but whatever, I trudge on. While making my sandwich the guy is steadily talking to his coworker and as a result leaves out items from my sandwich and is reminded by her to go back and put them on. Everything seems okay until I get to the register. As she rings up I see I am charged extra, in addition to the price of two 6 inch subs. So you mean I get to pay extra for your screw up? Yep. This place is bad. As the ratings reflect. Do yourself a favor and go to the quiznos next door, they probably won’t screw you over there.

First of all, the workers are extremely rude. She asked if i wanted my sandwich toasted, and I said yes thinking she had asked if that sandwich was mine. She turned around to take it to the toaster but I stopped her and said«Sorry! I thought you asked if it was mine.» She threw it down on the table as if she had gone out of her way or something. She was just rude the entire time. And her and the other guy were talking instead of listening to me. I had to keep stopping her because she was putting things on my sandwich that I didn’t want. The food tastes like s***. I don’t know why but it tastes like chemicals and like its been sitting out for days. I couldn’t even finish six inches of my foot long. We were driving to Santa Cruz and we had gone 30 – 45 minutes when I realized I left my purse there. We called to ask if it was still there and the guy said no right away. So we asked him to check and he literally just looked up from the phone and said«Oh yeah its here.» So we asked him to hold it because we were going to drive back. Once we got there 30 – 45 minutes later it was still sitting in the same place I left it while the two workers were chatting in the back.(There were also at least 5 – 7 people waiting to be helped.) Isn’t it common sense that when a customer leaves something behind you should hold it in the back until the come back to get it? Especially if they called the say they were driving back. Don’t just leave it for someone to take while you chat in that back. Horrible servie. Horrible food. I will not be returning!

Ok my fellow travelers. READTHISONE. if planning at stop here for subway. I eat subway 4 to 5 times a week on the last 2 years because an xtreme health condition so I know their customer service standards. Subway is 4 but this location Is –4. I can’t believe employees do a better job than owner when dealing with customers. Still employeed have a hard time to keep up with instructions but they Are trying and that matters. but ownrr. Oh god how can such a powerful network Deal with this guy. I live in the area. I’m a country guy… so this is close to me… this morning I Ordered a brakfast with coffe. Well they have a coffe dispenser out for customers to serve themselves. I got up for an extra coffe as a refill. I know I assumed wrong. Cause not refills allowed. But then I hear from mr owner using«one hand» «Sr. You can’t get another coffe, what makes you think a $ 3 brakfast with coffe includes a second coffe? A cookie and a coffe alone is $ 3» I was shocked and even worst inbarased beeing in front of lke 5 customrrs in line They all turned and look. Can you believe the corp deals with this peaple giving franchises just like that. Its not about the cost of the coffe but his attitude and customers service. I then took a deep breath as I’m a calmed person. Headed to him and paid for a second Coffe. Decide to confront him after everybody left… a nd I did. I did not want to emberrase him back. But I thknk I did in front of his emoyees. I won’t get in to that. But you shoul NOTSTOPHERE for subway Go to next stop… not worth it… during the 30 minutes I clearly observed how He profiles customers. Really I noticed how greety he is with certain Persons and he completetly ignores other exept to correct them.

This review is pertaining to the owner. The store itself is very clean, and well maintained BYTHESTAFF. The service is friendly and efficient. very pleasant. However! the air conditioning is and has been broken for a very long time. According to staff, and my experience, the owner refuses to fix the A/C. Soooo the entire place is extremely hot and uncomfortable. I can’t believe the health inspectors have not taken action for this.

It’s a subway on the side of the 5 freeway. It was ok. Pretty clean and food was ok. Bread did not seam fresh.

Not the greatest Subway, but it’ll have to do when you stop by here in Buttonwillow. They offer everything all the other Subways do including Jalapeño bread. They have plenty of seating inside and outside.

horrible service staff absolutely not attentive to their customers. Told my mom her credit card was declined even though it wasn’t and demanded catch. We had purchased a gift card as well as three sandwiches and a week later my fiancé went to use the gift card my mom got him there to find out it was never activated then denied it or that that is even possible even as a mistake which gets me to think this was intentional. This business is just god awful

I was kinda upset at the subway staff. They seem to be too busy talking instead of getting the sandwiches done right away. 3 girls taking their time while people are waiting. As for the food and price… same as any other subway.

This was the worst Subway I have ever been to!!! Here’s the way it happened. My girlfriend, myself and our three girls stopped here on our way back from L.A., we stop in Buttonwillow for a «health» lunch. A six inch sandwich, which they offer on TV every day. The girl behind the counter begins to take our orders. 5, 6 inch subs please. As she is making our sandwiches, my daughter(who was VERY hungry) notices that her sandwich was MUCH small then the other 4 sandwiches. So, I double check to make sure she is not making a kids meal, she says no, this is how our bread is made. … How can you offer a six inch sandwich for a certain price and try to give you a 4 inch sandwich claiming that it is exactly the same as a 6 inch. What’s the logic in this? So I let her finish that sandwiches, because apparently in this shop, the customer is never right. I then compare the small sandwich with the others and it was OVIOUS that there was a HUGH difference in the sizes. I then took the sandwiches up to the counter to show the HUGH difference to the lady that made the sandwiches and she STILL had to fight with me until the manager finally made a new sandwich. It was SO ridiculous and embarrassing for that store. I am a business owner and have been for 20 years. I would never, ever treat a customer this way, especially over a $ 4 sandwich. Also, besides the rudest, stupidest bunch of Subway workers I have ever met, and we eat at different Subway A LOT. Also, 90% of their tomatoes were white, hard and bitter. I wish I could show you a picture of the veggies on our sandwiches. I did take pictures it was SO bad. NONE of the tables were clean, regardless of how much time they spent arguing with customers. Don’t forget, if you go here, you HAVETOPAY to use the bathroom. The whole place is a ridiculous excuse for a SUBWAY, with a manager that OVIOUSLY only cares about skimping on their products and taking people for every dime he can get. Subway should take their franchise lisence away.

Well, it is a convenient stop off the 5 freeway, and it is clean. That is about it. We didn’t come during a lunch rush, but the service was still really slow. It is a mark of bad training and a kindergarden fail when you cannot listen to instructions and obey them. If I say I want something on half of a sandwich, that is not a difficult request, and I have never had another Subway screw that up. Learn to listen please.

Waited for about 10 minutes while the girl behind the counter slowly made a sandwich while chatting about MySpace with the customer before me. Some of that time she was just standing there waiting for the toaster & gabbing. Eventually she said she would be right with me, and I waited a few more minutes. When she finally got around to me, they were out of every bread except white & wheat. She kept talking to her friend, started putting stuff on my sandwich without asking me. I had to stop her a couple of times, even after she said, «you said you wanted everything on that, right» which I did not say, and told her this, though it didn’t register. Once it was finally made and I got to sit down and eat it, it was ok. Then, I used the restroom. One word: gross. If I thought there was anything else in the area that didn’t contain fried food and stocked veggie options, I would have left after 5 min waiting in line without much of a line! Next time, I’m just getting off at a different exit on my way through here.

I thought this place was fairly nice for a Subway and the service was quick, the food tasted like Subway and not some other crazy variation they end up having in the middle of nowhere and the employees were friendly. You really can’t beat their $ 5 foot-longs, even despite the quality of ingredients Subway uses. The bathrooms here are alright and overall it’s not a bad place to pick up lunch and take a quick bathroom break when planning to head to Buttonwillow Raceways for the day.

This Subway used to in a gas station but now has moved to a brand new building that is very nice. The other reviewer talks about a TCBY in the place and that is not the Buttonwillow Subway. There is another Subway some 50– 70 miles north which is in a gas station and has a TCBY so I believe the other negative review is of the Subway further north. I pretty much agree with that review of that store. This place moves people very fast. They make great sandwiches and pile on the veggies. The building is clean and this is an excellant place to take a break on your LA to SF trip.

For god sake!!! Get out of the back and serve your customers!!! The food was ok, the place smelled of something and there is never anyone in here. This place is on hwy 5, and, is the place I stop at when traveling to Las Vegas. Sorry for the two stars but as I was eating my sandwich I watched people come– wait ten minutes while the two workers were in the back chit chatting and then watched them leave and NO-ONENOTICED you had customers!!!
