Roaches. Roaches everywhere. And blood on the sheets. Disgusting. Avoid. I didn’t even stay the night, I saw my room, checked right back out, and stayed elsewhere. I feel like there is some minimum hygiene standard even for the cheapest places, and this place did not meet that.

USEDTOBE Red Roof Inn, now it is Motel 6. There are not many options of where to stay when we visit Buttonwillow Raceway, but this is the better of the few. The staff is friendly and there is complimentary hot coffee and hot cocoa at the front desk. The rooms are fair, not the best. I would highly recommend for you to bring your own towel and lysol to spray on the sheets, and bathroom.(if need be, you can bring your sleeping bag). They do not provide toiletry items, so bring your own!

Warning — This is now a Motel 6. I see the other reviews and maybe it was meant to be. My husband and I stay here for the track, and last year this was the best place to stay when it was the Red Roof Inn. Not anymore. The rates are lower and the quality reflects it. First of all, we were confused because when I called to make our reservations the person who answered mumbled and so I asked if this was the Red Roof Inn. She replied that it was. Obviously this changeover did not happen in two weeks and so she lied. We get there and see that it is now a Motel 6, but after a 4+ hour drive, we’re not arguing and so we check in. Oh — but let me say that the lobby reeked of cigarette smoke, or maybe it was the front desk lady. Whatever, smoking should not be allowed in the back office, because guess what? It stinks in the public lobby. The rooms on the inside courtyard aren’t as noisy. There’s a pool, but who uses that? Anyway, I think what John C was talking about were the bath towels that also reeked of cigarette smoke and are so thin and scratchy as to feel like sandpaper. Nothing like getting out of the shower(bring your own shampoo and soap!) and then drying off with putrid smelling sandpaper! I don’t remember that from when it was the Red Roof Inn. Here’s a thought for the new owners — raise the rate back to what it was and buy some decent towels and then don’t allow smoking by your employees where the smell will affect anything your guests will come into contact with.

This is where I stay every time I have an event at Buttonwillow raceway. Place is OK, they’re TV’s are ancient, The WiFi sucks. And the driveway is terrible.

Had to find a place to stay for a track day at Buttonwillow race track. It was hard to find anything remotely decent in this area. I looked for anything above a Motel 6 but couldn’t find anything. This seemed to be the best of the lot. If I had a choice I wouldn’t stay here again. Unfortunately there isn’t that choice in this area. The only thing that this place has going for it is that it was relatively clean. Recently remodeled with very cheap furniture. Repaint was sloppily applied(not really important but just indicative of the quality of work). The place is definitely noisy. I always bring earplugs which was a godsend. Even though this was a non-smoking room the fan in the bathroom was a direct pipe to the other smoking rooms so the bathroom reeked of cigarette smoke. Pass by this exit if you have the choice!

This Red Roof Inn is nothing but a fixed up Motel 6 or worse. It is located right next to the highway. Almost on the highway would make a better discription. The windows are not good insulated which makes the highway noise very loud inside the rooms. You’ll need some earplugs for sure if you decide you’re gonna stay here! Also my friend had 8(!) big flies in her room and was horrified. We only had two(wow, lucky us), but our bathtub was filthy. If you want a good night sleep don’t stay here.
