Not expensive, but overpriced for mediocore food! I wasn’t impressed, but the server was very nice. I had a better meal at Marmalade across the way. Maybe I have to revisit again at some point.

Have come back a few times now in the past few years because my father-in-law seems to love this place and I have the admit the food has gotten a little better since my last review. Short ribs are good, mushroom risotto is tasty but can be hit or miss with how how watery it is. My son and husband like the seafood pasta. Overall, everything is seasoned well and not tasteless as it used to. I’m giving them another well deserved star.

These five stars are for the friendly staff, from the host to sunny smiling and attentive bussers and our fab waitress Sabrina. My mother and I came to have dinner with Lulu(my tiny and well behaved Papillon). I’m allergic to onions and garlic which is annoying and frustrating for a chef when they’ve made beautiful sauces for their menu and someone like me comes and ruins their night by asking the server to ask him to substitute it for basically olive oil. So this does not end here. The chef actually comes out to see«who» is the weirdo that ordered his pappardelle without the mushroom sauce(which has garlic) — he looked at me and shook his head. Our food arrives. My moms filet mignon — perfect. My pasta, exactly how I wanted it-Simple. So when we were leaving I profusely thanked and apologized to the staff about the accommodating– and saw the chef as leaving the door — I apologized to him as well of course and in fact I was happy that I could. Guess what though? Another head shake. I guess I was that difficult. Sadly he does not realize that bit of kindness goes a long way with some– So I like to thank you Sabrina for being awesome.

The food here is pretty good, but nothing particularly amazing given the price point. We ordered the Tortelloni Di Margo(tortillini filled with veal ricotta and black kale, in a wild mushroom sauce)($ 19) and the lobster spaghetti special($ 32). Bread basket had a good variety, and the restaurant had a nice ambiance. I’d come back because it’s convenient in Calabasas, but it probably isn’t my top choice Italian in the area.

One thing about ordering the special, they never tell you how much the price is… If you’re wondering how much a half plate of truffle pasta is going to cost you; well let me tell you it’s 50 bucks. I wonder if we had ordered the full plate if it would have been 100 $ just for one plate.(But pasta? C’mon really? You can get a 22oz ribeye with truffle butter and a side of potatoes at Morton’s Steakhouse for that price.) I frequent the place with my wife and with in-laws and usually I find the place pretty well priced and delicious. But after this outing I’ll advise that you are better off going to Geoffrey’s in Malibu, Cadet in Santa Monica, Del Frisco’s in SAMO or just about any other ‘nice’ place you can think of. Sorry Toscanova you mishandled this one…

HUGE thank you to the management and team at Toscanova. I was having my holiday party for 30 at another place today, when they called 45 minutes before the scheduled time to say they had issues in the kitchen and would not be able to accommodate us today. Panicked I called Toscanova, they jumped into action, took on the task of being ready in less than an hour for 30 people and did a fantastic job. The food was delicious, service was great, the food flowed out without any delays. They truly were lifesavers today, THANKYOU !!

I just left here and couldn’t believe this place had three stars. First and foremost the pollo paillare was the best chicken I have had at any restaurant in years. The bartender Alice made sure my drinks were served promptly and she introduced me to a new drink called mezcalito in which I loved. She had a great personality made me laugh and enjoy my night. Thanks Alice.

A restaurant located within the Calabasas Commons. It looks upscale on the interior. The service is so-so. They are busy so the waiters don’t have too much time to be more attentive. The cesar salad consists of mostly lettuce. The alcohol wasn’t bad. They have a skinny margarita. The spinach ravioli was good. Overall, it’s the type of restaurant you’d go to for the«ambiance» and not for Italian food.

I’m a local so I eat here often. Their specials are usually better than what’s on the menu. Great fish dishes if you like to eat healthy. I’ve never had a bad meal and service is always great. Nice ambiance especially outside by the fire.

This place is located on the Commons plaza. Lots of parking and very friendly atmosphere which is only magnified by the holiday season. Kids on these damn huverboards or whatever they are all over the place as if feet don’t exist anymore. The restaurant was able to accommodate us at 7pm even though we called at 6:15. Outdoor seating is fine but cold even with the heat lamps so we went inside. Packed joint around 7pm so we sat at the bar area. I had the pasta with boat ragu and it was good. We started with the burata and calamari which is really good as the calamari is the best app there since its huge. She had the pasta and clams and after 1 drink on my end to ensure no new DUI we took the check which was $ 83 buckaroos if my memory serves me correctly. These guys also own Café Roma if I’m correct in Beverly Hills which I previously was known at for picking up multiple milfs at.

I love coming to Toscanova for happy hour prices as well as the atmosphere, but wasn’t too pleased with the service the last time I was there. I ordered a small margherita pizza from their happy hour menu and it took 30 min. to arrive. Hoping to enjoy it with my beer, it was long gone before the waitress came and told me she was sorry, but they«forgot about my order». I would have understood if the place was packed… but it wasn’t. The pizza eventually came and was very good, but not worth the wait! I was hoping the waitress would at least offer to comp or discount my order but she didn’t. Not a deal breaker though! I will be back for another Downtown Brown. :)

After a long flight and a longer day in the office, I was looking for high quality food that would check the«comfort food» box. This friendly, clean and welcoming restaurant grabbed my attention as I walked to the commons. I was immediately drawn to the day’s special, pappardelle with short rib Ragu. It hit every mark, flavor, texture, portion size and most importantly my comfort food desire. The overall experience was excellent, friendly and top quality food. Will Visit again

Cocktails were on point! At $ 10, it’s totally a fair price to grab a drink with some apps in the area. I grabbed an Aperol Spritzer, which was delicious & refreshing! I ordered the Pappardelle al funghi(homemade pappardelle with mixed wild mushrooms), $ 23, which was pretty great. Price was slightly steep, but I guess it’s comparable to the area. The pasta, which was homemade was cooked to a PERFECT al dente and the mushrooms were plentiful in both amount and flavor. I would definitely order this again. Ambiance was nice; we sat at a high top in the bar area, so service was occasional… Very occasional. Though when we did have service, it wasn’t too shabby. I’d like to come back, likely for some drinks and happy hour bites; great location and ambiance.

My husband and I recently celebrated our first anniversary at this location and we had a wonderful experience. We were originally going to go to Mastro’s in TO, but due to time constraints we chose to go here instead and we are so glad we did. The food was amazing. We had the cheese plate and carpaccio for appetizers, my husband had the chicken for entrée and I had the bolognese pasta and the crème brûlée for dessert. We also had two cocktails, a cocojito and jamaica something or other. The drinks were excellent, they are not stingy on the alcohol. The service A+. I wish I could remember the server’s name, nice lady with long curly hair. Although we didn’t do the happy hour menu, my in-laws have and they raved about it. Can’t wait to try it for ourselves.

Here for Happy Hour… reasonably priced drinks and a great after work crowd. Martina was amazing and had fantastic recommendations for us. There used to be a great bartender, Kristina but it looks like she wasn’t here tonight :( Kimberlynn(event coordinator) introduced herself to let us know of their accommodations — great private dining room that accommodates 20 people which is perfect because I plan business meals for my team. Super convenient!

A-OK because of the following: (+) great service, attentive staff (+) was able to be seated without a reservation on a Friday night (-) overpriced IMHO, but it is Calabasas so that’s a given (-) nothing stood out as amazing or anything I’d come back for necessarily. underwhelmed by the risotto and pasta I tasted (-) food took awhile, good thing we got here early and well in advance of the showtime for our movie at the Commons theater (-) calamari appetizer I wanted was 86’ed for the night

One of my absolute favorites! Tuscanova is sophisticated, stylish, and delicious. My father and I stopped in here and we had a wonderful time dining at the bar. Great wine options, great snd tasty appetizers and duh, TV to watch soccer. My husband and I frequent here on weekdays when we’re both off, which isn’t often enough. This Calabasass location is quiet and beautiful. We enjoy dining outside in the covered patio and take in the scene. Toscanova is located on the west end of The Commons, near Library, and the shaded area is ideal for sipping on vino, tasting charcuterie and exchanging pleasantries. I’ve hosted a Mother’s Day brunch here and my family all raved! I will always recommend Toscanova is someone is looking for a chic place to enjoy Italian food.

Came here for happy hour on a Sunday. I would give the food 4 stars I would give the service 1 star. Sat by the fire pit– after 20 mins they finally brought us our waters. Took quite a while for our food to arrive– staff and manager was very unapologetic. Waitress barley came by, even had a hard time trying to flag her down to ask for our check. For an upscale restaurant in a nice area, I’m surprised they don’t have better service. Oh well– plenty of other restaurants at the commons that have a friendly staff and better service.

Just stopped in for a quick bite and a drink. The bar area is nice. Drinks are good not heavy pouring here. Tried the Buffalo mozzarella really good and fresh! We also had a mushroom pizza which was very good as well! Our server was friendly but did not know the menu well maybe she was new? Would definitely go back and have dinner!

Came here by chance because traffic heading to Pasadena was just heinous and we thought we would wait it out. Sat at the bar– happy hour all day Wednesday. It was a little difficult to get service because there was only one bartender and the bar was pretty full. Tip– you can also order dinner at the bar, and there are some dinner options on the happy hour menu. I was going to order a cheese plate but I saw that a ‘cheese platter’ was on the happy hour menu. I didn’t get a chance to ask what was on it because the bar tender dashed away. It turned out to be two slice of cheese that wee incredibly similar(parmesan and Pecorino I think) with some candied walnuts(about 5 of them) and a splash of jam of some sort. Platter? Wow. Re-think word choice there, that was incredibly misleading! You should call it «A tiny taste of cheese tea cup». Just a suggestion. Wine on the happy hour wasn’t very good and the mixed whiskey drink we got was not very tasty either. We couldn’t get any service to send it back either. We just ended up leaving to brave the traffic. Maybe actually having dinner here would be a better experience? I don’t think I’m going back to find out.
