First time I have taken the time to write a review on Unilocal, but, I really felt the need to warn people of this place. This is the first and last time I will eat here. Everything about the place is bad. First the food. I ordered the Kahn burger with fries and a drink. The burger looked and tasted like a pre made frozen burger that had been in the freezer too long, the seasoning on the fries tasted old and stale, and the soda from the machine was warm. So, the food was pretty much disgusting and I threw half of it away. Second, the tables in the dinning room were sticky, like they were wiped down with a dirty rag, once again disgusting. Third, the card reader at the register takes an unusually long time to charge your card. And for some reason my order took longer than anyone else’s to fill. I sat there and watched about ten people in line behind me get their order before mine. This has got to be one of the worst places I have ever gone to eat. Avoid it.

dear people of Unilocal, NEVERGOHERE. first of all, the menu looks intriguing, but DONTBEDECEIVEDBYITSLIES. so the cashier(who doesnt even deserve the title«cashier») charged my card, said it declined, charged it again and after waiting for like 80 years he finally said it went through. so i got my campfire wrap, and soon learned that this was NOCAMPFIRE. this was a forest fire. it was horrible, the chicken tasted like satan and the corn was like ice cubes pained yellow. even the fries have this horrible chile pepper on them that makes you want to kill yourself. as i continued to suffer through eating this sad excuse for food, the cashier came over and gave me a ticket for a free meal because he charged my card twice. so now im sitting here eating popcorn for dinner. thanks tacone.

Went here for the first time last Monday night and it blew my mind how amazing this place was. The guy working was super nice, suggested me an item(since I’ve never been) and it was awesome! Great portion size(I almost couldn’t finish) and excellent taste. Overall good venue. I wish I knew about this place before 2 days ago! I’ll be back for sure!

This is a decent place to get a wrap. I almost always get a pilgrim wrap — turkey with ranch, lettuce, tomato, avocado. Their sandwiches are good, but I prefer the wraps. I like getting tortilla chips or seasoned French fries(delicious!) for the side. There’s a condiment bar that has ranch, Caesar dressing. peanut sauce, etc. It always seems pretty empty in here. The staff is usually pretty friendly.

Food tastes ok, but the guy who prepares the food wipes the knife on the edge of the trash can! Pretty disgusting!

I usually give restaurants the benefit of the doubt, but this time has been one too many. I go here often, hell, I even worked here about 6 years ago, but the people who work there now are pretty rude. My boyfriend and I ate here a few months back, and he made a comment that the people working were being rude to him; I brushed it off because I hadn’t picked up on it. This time I went by myself with what my boyfriend had told me in the back of my head. I get there, the place is dead, not a soul in sight. These two men come out from the back looking like they had just woken up and as if I had bothered them by walking into the place. I ordered«the perfect ten» and sweet potato fries, however, I forgot to ask them to wrap it in their low carb whole wheat tortilla. I get the food and immediately realize my mistake. Now, I’m someone that is a bit passive when it comes to my food and hardly ever take it back for alterations, but this time I sucked it up and and told them suuuuuuuuper nicely and apologetically what my mistake was and asked if they wouldn’t mind swapping it out into the other tortilla. The cook I asked did not speak english so he asked the other man to translate for me, when the messege got through to the cook he glared at me and starts speaking spanish in a very rude tone. I do not speak spanish, but I am also not an idiot. I can read body language and am aware when someone is upset. I know this man must have been saying some unmentionables because the other man he is talking to did not speak a word and just watched him remake my food while shaking his head. The cook(purposely!) goes to an area of the kitchen where I can not see him and remakes the wrap.(I say«purposely» because I saw him make the food the first time). Cashier then says«here you go!» and tosses the box on the counter. I wouldn’t be surprised if he spit/threw anything gross in it. I’m never going there again, and can’t bring myself to eat the $ 12.00 meal I just wasted my money on.

The BBQ Chicken quesadilla is THEBEST quesadilla I’ve ever had. Very flavorful and it was only $ 5.49. I’ve also had the Mambo wrap and the Kingston wrap. Both were OK, not bad. But the quesadilla was soooooooo good.

Kids eat free all the time with a purchase of any combo meal. My daughter loves this place so much. Wish they were open on Sundays though.

Tacone has a DOOZY of a deal for a KIDSEATFREE spot in West Ventura County! That’s why I dragged the family in for dinner one night. This eatery is located by the Roxy Stadium 11 Cinemas in Camarillo, off the Santa Rosa Rd. exit from the 101fwy. With the Tacone promotion anytime you purchase 1 combo meal, you get 1 kid’s meal with a drink FREE, ALLTHETIME!!! That’s right, EVERYDAY they’re open, ALLDAY, kids can eat free. The only catch is that the combo meal doesn’t include entrees listed under Global Grill Platters, Fresh Salads, or Soups. Everything else is game. The guys runnin’ things were helpful & patient as we tried to make sense of the deal & it’s options. This is what we brought to our table… *GREATGOBBLER($ 6.49 alone /combo $ 9.48): One of the grilled sammie options, it’s roasted turkey, tomato, chopped cilantro, melted Jack cheese, & artichoke pesto spread between basil panini bread. It’s tasty, but the stuff in the middle is so thin, that 1 bread piece is thicker than the stuffing. I ended up taking 1 bread slice off the sandwich and ate it like a pizza to get a better taste. A lot of carbs, but not an equal amount protein. As a combo meal, you get 1 «flavor side» & a drink. I chose the grilled veggies & feta cheese. Lightly grilled, not blackened… nice flavor & the feta cheese complemented well. *VEGGIECAPRESE($ 6.49 alone /combo $ 9.48): Another grilled sammie option, this has fresh grated mozzarella(no chunks), tomato, olive tapenade & basil pesto. Great flavor, but again, just too thin. Without the chunks or sliced mozzarella, it made the sammie appear all tomato and bread. *EMPIRESTEAKPLATTER($ 8.49): «WHERE’S THEBEEF?!?» to quote another eatery. No protein load here for sure. Pretty small serving of steak, although, it did have a nice flavor to it & tender, so, easy to eat. But«empire» suggests big, and it sure ain’t that! Platter comes with 1 «Flavor Side» — chose sweet potato fries, &1 «Tacone Side» — chose Tacone side salad. Sweet tates were perfect. Salad was fresh & crisp. Large servings of the sides made the steak serving appear even smaller. *Kid’s KICKIN’ FRIEDCHICKENJR.(FREE!): 3 pieces of chicken strips of good size, comes with seasoned potato chips. Perfect size for kids with small appetites. 2 plates of this were happily cleaned up. Tacone has THEBEST kids eat free deal offered in Ventura County, unfortunately our sampling of the food options left something to be desired, unless you are a small eater OR like more bread than stuff in the middle for you sammies. Maybe the wraps, hamburgers and/or quesadillas are a better choice for big appetites? Also, price is on the expensive side for the quantity provided. Regardless of the«beefs» I have, my young squires left happy and content. Somehow, that just makes everything better.

Pretty cheap prices for decent food. The wraps are pretty good, as are the quesadillas. And even though I don’t particularly like chips, their chips are good as well. The specials make the food an even better deal.

I never had such a bad experience with food before coming to this place. This place got just about everything wrong. My burger was suppose to be a bacon cheeseburger, but instead i got a chard sandwich. The burger was just pure black and crunchy, i didn’t even know i had bacon until i removed the top bun. It was the same color as the burger. The fries felt like it was old and fried again. Nothing was what it was suppose to be with the entire meal except the drink. Thats because i got it myself. Would i come here again… Never. Such a bad experience and a waste of my lunch and money.

YUMMY!!! This place is awesome! I went here again today and realized how awesome it is that we were able snag a Tacone in Camarillo!!! I love the chicken fried wrap… sorry I dont know the technical name of it but that’s pretty much what it is! I could eat here everyday if I could! The store isn’t as awesome as other stores… but who cares… the food is AWESOME!!! YUMMMMMM!

I gave this place four stars because I eat here once a week so they must be doing something right! I get the Spa Wrap which is a bunch of grilled veggies and feta cheese. They serve it with their home made chips which I love. I agree with some users in that their business hours are kind of weird. I went there on a Sunday and it was closed. The place doesn’t look that inviting inside but if you sit outside on the patio it’s a nice way to spend the afternoon away from your work desk.

Like Madonna … I had lunch here for the«very first time» and I ordered the Boom«Chick A Boom» Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries… Ok so like it already came with potato chips which I didn’t realize, so when asked what side I wanted I told the girl taking my order(who by the way was on another planet cuz she was way spaced out… I don’t think her brain was really all there) I wanted the sweet p fries… Wen I got my plate it was all shades of brown, tan, and gold… um where was the green parsley decoration to offset all the golden hue coming off my plate? The grilled sandwich was good, I did eat the whole thing, but not the fires and potato chips they were just too much… Um did someone say«I Love Carbs».

I really want to give you 4 stars Tacone, for I find your ‘Chick-a-Boom” sandwich, sweet potato fries, Thai cucumber salad and Malibu Melt very tasty. HOWEVER — the staff at this place kills it for me. We stopped in for take-out dinner last night at 7:30 and all the chairs were up on the table and all the condiments and«Flavor Bar» accessories were put away — a full 30 minutes before they closed. Not only is it unprofessional, but it drives away business. We saw a couple turn away as we were leaving because they thought it was closed. The man/boy who took our order was so annoyed that we were in there making him work. And he was far too old for the ‘emo-hipster-cranky-teenager’ gig that he was slinging. Be thankful you have a job you unwashed miscreant! And please don’t spit in my food next time, I’ll be watching you.

[Added picture] Checked out Tacone before visiting my Brother at the Hospital(this was a few weeks ago, so I’ll go by what I can remember) I’ve been to Tacone here and in Ventura once before and I’ve always liked the sandwich – I’ve only gotten the«Chick-A-Boom» which is not at all awkward to say while ordering.* but what always seems to bring me back is the Sweet Potato fries; until I can figure out how to BAKE them(they fry theirs), Tacone will only fulfill my craving. The teenage girl that works here was sitting with her group of friends until we walked into the door. Cooky Cookerson was a really nice guy; No complaints there! He got our food out pretty fast too despite two big orders before us. Two sandwiches, along side potato chips and two drinks, plus Sweet Potato fries cost us a wallet beating $ 18; double-you tee eff; If it weren’t for the prices, maybe you’ll get another star, Tacone But I think I need to try the other stuff on the menu before adding(or subtracting) any more. *I hate places that have weird names like this. Anyone else feel trucking awkward when telling people you’re ordering a «Chick-a-Boom» or a «Angus Khan Burger» =P

First and foremost, this isn’t health food. It’s regular food in healthy food’s clothing. They have wraps, sandwiches, and platters of healthy looking items, but check the nutritional facts, it’s dressed up regular food and you pay for it. I ordered the«Pilgrim» wrap. It’s roasted Turkey, Avocado, Tomato, Jack Cheese, Romaine + Ranch Vinaigrette and comes with seasoned potato chips. The size of the wrap was somewhat disappointing, 8″ if that. The turkey was dry and it looked like tuna or chicken from a can. I would’ve expected at least strips, but shredded like tuna? I had to douse it with some of the sauces they have in their sauce bar. They have numerous sauces, but nothing really to write home about. The ones I tried where the honey mustard, cilantro lime, and classic Caesar. The seasoned chips were just right, I dipped those in the honey mustard. The cilantro lime was decent, I had to pour some on my wrap because of the Mojave dry turkey, blah. Overall, Wrap + chips + med Arnold Palmer = $ 8.57 Was it worth it? Unfortunately, no. I would have rather gone to Subway and got a footlong, drink, and chips for about that price.
