Very Good food. But you need to bring patience and expect to wait at least an hour to an hour and a half. Orverall, it’s worth the wait.

Wait time is usually 30+ mins, outside patio is a nice place to watch the planes come and go while you wait.

At first glance I thought it would be nothing more than a fly boy hang out. But what we found was amazing food and great service. They say the owner is a perfectionist and mentioned something about Jiminizing. I guess his name is Jim and he Jiminizes everything from the salsa to the building and the landscape around it. Plan on a wait but there is a really nice area to view planes coming into land. Another Jiminized area.

An excellent diner with a bit of history. Camarillan’s who haven’t been here should and ones who have will tell you it’s great. Great simple fresh food and helpful service. Never been disappointed by Waypoint.

This place is AAA, OKAY!!! Okay so we get here and they say 45 min wait. We say okay. We go in the back near the runway and it is a little chilly but they come out and ask if we want any coffee or drink. That is pretty good. We get a coffee and whatever but are seated in about 20 min; drinks in hand. That is really good! We get seated in a covered sort of outdoor area under a canopy with sidewalls that’s well heated and get a nice server named Dana and are taken care of and enjoy a great meal with good family, including our daughter and new Son-In-Law and a Sister from NJ. Any questions???

I came here on Christmas Eve 2015 and truly enjoyed it. A bit of a wait, but well worth it. The menu is quite varied, but not ridiculously long where you can’t choose. However, you can add and subtract from what you order and have options for sides, so that makes it a bit trickier to make a decision. But maybe that’s just me. Got a French dip with a side salad, and it was very tasty. The salad, especially, even though others at my table ordered fries, I wasn’t disappointed. Another person at my table ordered an incredibly delicious-looking chocolate malt(the menu only mentions shakes, but they do malts) with fudgy chocolate on the side of the chilled glass and lots of whip cream. If it weren’t for the holidays and the fact that I wasn’t wearing pants with an expandable waistline, I would’ve ordered it in a second. Atmosphere good, waiters knowledgeable, parking AOK. I will definitely return.

Very busy location, but they have great customer service, fresh ingredients and relaxing environment. The clientele weren’t low class or obnoxious. Very pleasant and don’t mind the wait. Sitting outside was refreshing because you can watch small airplanes take off with the smell of bbq surrounding you.

Looking for that unique breakfast/lunch spot that has great food and atmosphere? Look no further than the Waypoint Café at the Camarillo Airport. My wife and I were looking for a new breakfast spot and recently stopped in on a Sunday morning This place is a very popular local spot, and popular with the aviation crowd as people from all over California fly in just to have breakfast here. With that said, get there early on the weekends or you will be waiting for a table. We got in around 8am and had no wait. When we left around 9, the wait was already up to 45 min. The best seat IMO is on the outside patio, so you and your guests can watch the planes fly in! This is especially a must if you are an aviation buff. The outside patio is also pet friendly for your furry friends that join you. Be sure to venture outside in back to the little control tower that broadcasts the radio transmissions from pilots and the air control tower. The staff is friendly and and attended to all of our needs promptly. Even when they got slammed they took care of us. For breakfast, I had their french toast, which was very tasty. My wife got an omelette that was equally as tasty. The Waypoint café is a hidden gem here in Ventura county. Perfect to take out-of-town friends or the kids. There is something about eating at the airport that makes one feel like they are traveling to a far off destination.

Came here for breakfast a few months back with some co-workers and it was amazing! We were seated out on the patio. The view was gorgeous! Loved being able to see the planes come and go. And it wasn’t too loud where we couldn’t hold a conversation. The food was some of the best I’ve had! I had the french toast and loved it! We all shared a cinnamon roll, and OHLAWD, do yourself a favor and try one! They are THEBESTTHINGSEVER! Hope to try their lunch menu sometime soon! Helpful Tip: Get there early! I’ve tried to go at the lunch hour, and it is always packed(lines going out the door).

I hadn’t been here in a while because there wasn’t much on the menu that I liked and the service was always pretty bad but I noticed the menu had changed so I decided to give it a try. We were seated almost right away and our waitress Dana was very pleasant and provided good service. The place was pretty much full inside and outside. I ordered the tamale with two eggs meal which came pretty quickly and to my surprise it was very good. The tamale was not as good as my family’s but much better than I’ve had at other restaurants. The water was also good which I was happy about because at some places the water is so bad I have to order a soda. My experience this time around was really pleasant and the atmosphere is very enjoyable due to the great view of the airport and mountains. I’m glad I decided to come back again after so long. It’s nice to see improvements were made. I will come back again soon.

Exactly the place I wanted when it comes to waffles. Oreo shake was ultra amazing fantastic. Love how it taste and it was really huge for such low amount. Waffles were truly a monster, amazing taste and the taste was good, super good. Had the greatest experience.

The food here was amazing. We stopped in for breakfast on our way up the coast and it did not disappoint. There was a bit of a wait but that is expected when the place has good food. We got as spot right away at the counter and the service was pretty quick. I am always impressed watching all the food prep happen right in front of me when I sit at counters. The owner stopped by while we were eating our food and she let us try some of the pumpkin spice brittle that she made and it was amazing. I would love to buy a huge bag of just that. I ended up getting the open face breakfast sandwich and the portion was huge. I could only finish half but it was just as good when I had the leftovers later that day. Ambiance is also nice. It is right on the edge of the runway at the little Camarillo airport. They have a very nice waiting area in the back.

My boyfriend and I stopped by towards their last hour and was greeted warmly by the waitresses. After reading the reviews on Unilocal, the two of us unanimously decided to eat out on the patio with the awesome view of aircrafts. Although we were near the Tarmac, the noise of the helicopters taking off or landing, didn’t bother us one bit. The service was quick and on point as our waitress didn’t make us feel rushed. For lunch I went with their half turkey sandwich and soup. Unlike any other place I’ve been to, Waypoint Café threw me for a loop when I learned their turkey sandwich had cranberry jam! At first I was skeptical but it turned out to be my favorite part! My soup of the day was a spicy Tortilla Soup with cheese, tortilla chips, and avocado– yum! On the other side of the table, my boyfriend ordered a burrito special that I unfortunately can’t recall the name, but I do remember that it was really delicious! After having so much food, and enjoying each other’s company as we watched the air traffic on the tarmac, we were too full to order the chocolate shake everyone rave’d about on Unilocal… But oh well, that just means we’re gonna have to come back! All in all: great place, awesome views, warm service, and really good food!

Seating was quick and the staff is friendly. My husband had work in the area and this spot was recommended since we have our children along with us. Our group ordered waffles and pancakes. Nicely prepared, and there is plenty of bacon in the bacon waffle. The banana nut pancake were excellent too. Our children loved the play area, complete with miniature air control tower with active air control chatter. We had a hard time getting them back to the table to eat. The portions are generous, next time I’m in the Camarillo or Ventura area I want to come back for the ranchers plate. The table next to us had it and it was easily enough food for three people. If you have your own plane, this is a place you should do a fly in for, I hear the burgers are excellent too. If you don’t have access to a single prop, come anyway it’s worth a drive for the food and laid back environment.

I’ll have to agree with Pauline T. The food is decent, but what you’re really paying for is the view and the advantage of enjoying your meal outside in beautiful weather with airplanes and helicopters. A little hidden café with friendly service that can get busy at times. Go during off hours. Definitely indulge in their old fashioned milkshakes and malts. The Oreo milkshake is served in a tall glass with the«extra» served right along side in the metal cup in which it was made. Overall, a surprising little hide-away that’s best for their milkshakes and environment. Not a bad way to enjoy one of the 365 beautiful days in southern California.

Great place but minus a star for a long wait. We went to the outlets for an hour and came back but they had already did given up out table but we got the next one. Service was pretty good. Sit outside for a view of the planes(there are a lot of flies though). There was some police training going on so seeing the police cars make 180 turns at high speeds was fun. We also saw two helicopters. I’d recommend waiting by the planes while waiting for your food.

The hidden gems of hidden gems. I love that Ventura county has such good, low key places for brunch. It’s where the locals go to watch the airplanes and have a good hearty meal with friends and family! I love, love, LOVE their breakfasts here! The waffle’s crisp to soft consistency is just perfect. They cook your eggs just right and the side meats are NOM! Their French fries are delicious too. Just seasoned enough and it comes in a cute mini frying basket. Then the milkshakes — all the nom NOM loveeee. They dip the rim of the glass in chocolate and give you a good amount of drink. Perfect for a hot summer day! They also have specials on the weekends when they fire up the grill for BBQ. The waiters always let you know. This is where I was a bit disappointed. I tried the tri-tip sandwich and it fell flat for me. Probably the only thing on their menu I wasn’t a fan of. It was a bit salty for my taste buds but the bread holding it together was great! Portions are big and just right for the price too! Don’t let the line outside fool you. They’re quick here with ordering and getting your food out to you. I hadn’t even finished taking a picture of our drinks and the food was already there in front of us, hahah. The waitress on the patio can be snippy but she hustles. Can’t really knock that as my order always come back perfect!

Came here for late breakfast on a Thursday at 10 a.m. and the place was packed. Sat right away but took 15 minutes to get a server, can’t imagine what it’s like on a weekend. Our waitress seemed more annoyed that we were there, but she was probably trying to serve 20 tables. The food was so-so. Cool location right on the flight line and we were able to park the plane pretty close to the restaurant. They have a neat miniature runway setup next to the patio. A little difficult to hear sitting outside with aircraft engines constantly running up, so sit inside if you want to have a conversation. I hope to give this place another try on another day sometime.

Waypoint is a fresh and stylish little café located in the Camarillo airport. It has a great view of the going on’s at the airport yet it is a little oasis quiet and chill enough to enjoy your meal. The service was friendly and efficient and the menu contained most of the standard American lunch favorites. I have the«New York Style» Pastrami Sandwich. The hoagie bun had a nice crispy crust and at the same time the was soft and freshly baked. The pastrami was flavorful and went well with the mustard and pickles. The description on the menu was«sliced thinly and piled…» well, I guess that depends on one’s definition of «piled». It was probably one of the lightest pastrami sandwiches that I’ve ever been served. While it was good, I am used to deli pastrami sandwiches that are piled high and dripping with juice. This was not. Overall it was a very decent place for a quick lunch before a meeting. Next time? I will try one of their burgers.
